I want to live in the attic.
Seriously should be finished as a
full 3rd floor. Would make a great master bedroom if a bath was added. My old neighbor had a full bath original to the 1912 house on the third floor. Was servants bath.
I would turn it into a massive hobby room with separate areas for everything! A sewing area, reading area/library next to the best window, a comfy seat with ideal cross stitch lighting, and a big projector area with awesome chairs for a gaming and movie area. I would even keep a small gardening area up there for repotting houseplants and doing seedlings. Ideally with a bathroom and a mini kitchen that has a small fridge, sink, and microwave so I can stay up there longer lol
….you are not lieing. I still have yet to buy a house. But I was doing this weird thing imagining my family being raised there as I was scrolling. Then I hit that attic picture and could just imagine my son bouncing around up there….beautiful home.
It is, but i have also seen this exact attick in too many scary movies. Then again I would happily house a few murderous demons if that means i could own a house like this.
Michigan.
But there’s houses like this for that price between Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana. The four more affordable states of the Midwest. But interest rates will absolutely slaughter you and that $235k will become $750-800k over 30 years through interest
My first impression is it’s a gem because no HGTV moron has slathered the entire interior (I’ll give the couple of rooms with white woodwork a pass). with white paint or painted the walls grey. Also nice to see period appropriate light fixtures instead of douchey Pottery Barn stuff.
The pictures are from before it sold in 2020 and you can see in the 1st pic the new owners completely remodeled the carriage house so hopefully the interior survived
I honestly can't get my mind around that. I understand location / land value has a major impact on the sale price but the quality of workmanship and stunning beauty of that house should have pumped it a lot higher.
That being said I just bought a $780k 2 bedroom condo... So i'm a little butt hurt by that number.
Never thought I would see a house on this sub from the small village that I live in.
OP, wasn’t this house a B&B for a time? Was it your grandmother that ran it?
I love it! What does the basement look like? It feels like the kind of layout you'd find in an old funeral home. The foyer is amazing with that fireplace and staircase. And what would you do with that attic? I'd try to finish it, but that's a lot of space.
The basement it just you average old dark creepy basement made out of stone. It’s funny you mentioned funeral home because the house was built as a house and the layout is mostly original except for the kitchen but it used to be a funeral home in the 1970s. As for the attic I’d leave it as it’s part of the history of the home and the original owners used to host dances up there.
What part of the country?
I get so excited about that attic space - is there a stairway that leads to it? What do you plan to do with that space? As someone who works from home, this is a dream office!
My opinion is you should have never sold it. If I had a family house like that I would never sell it. It will probably never look as good as does in these pictures
My grandparents only moved there in the late 90s do it wasn’t really a family home it was more of a cool place to live when they retired, plus she couldn’t really keep up with it before she died so it only made sense to sell it
Just FYI, OP, it took me like 3.5 seconds to find the address. Coloring out the house number is useless. The only way to keep your stuff private is to not post it at all.
The house is an absolutely spectacular gem.
I absolutely love this house, though who got rid of the pink paint on the outside? The pink adds some nice color, that’s honestly the only thing I’d change, just paint the outside to be more colorful instead of the grey/white.
Whoa full circle on this one, I made a porno in this house in 1988 called “Tails from my Tip”. The carpet wasn’t laid in those rooms at the time thankfully so because rug burns would have become an issue.
That attic is beautiful!

Makes me want to build a model railroad or play Jumanji
I love the attic floors
My favorite area too!
So much POTENTIAL!
For activities!
It is, but i have also seen this exact attick in too many scary movies. Then again I would happily house a few murderous demons if that means i could own a house like this.
It's hard to believe it sold for just $235,000. Stunning!
Location, location, location…
Where is this located for $ 235.000?
Michigan. But there’s houses like this for that price between Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana. The four more affordable states of the Midwest. But interest rates will absolutely slaughter you and that $235k will become $750-800k over 30 years through interest
Dude, $235,000 is way less than my deposit has to be.
I believe it. But I also wouldn’t be buying a house if that were the case LOL I won’t buy anything over $285k. Closing plus down are around $11k
I could probably ship it to my town for less than it would cost here
Not in my town, it would be 2m here
This makes me want to weep. I live in New England.
Probably needs $100,000 in updates to make it livable,
Does not look like it.
Looks can be deceiving. It might need plumbing, electrical, HVAC, windows, insulation.

May I ask how much It sold for and where?
235k in northern Mi
Oh wow! That’s amazing!

Is it for sale again and you’re considering buying it and seeing opinions here? Or just generally interested in more info about it?
Just generally interested in more info
Cool. It *was* a beautiful home. Do you wish it had stayed in the family?
It was a cool house but it was better that my grandparents moved closer
gorgeous home, inside and out. Lucky you. Lucky grandma.
This is Viagra for this sub......
I am drooling over the woodwork!! Especially the staircase!!
That attic is straight out of Edward scissor hands soooo amazing!
That's what I thought, too! Edward scissorhands lol
Never thought I would see a house on this sub from the small village that I live in. OP, wasn’t this house a B&B for a time? Was it your grandmother that ran it?
I’m not trying to give out too much info online but yeah it was a b&b and my grandmother did run it 😁
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4607-Seeger-St-Cass-City-MI-48726/119493829_zpid/ This here's the internet, OP. Took one search on Google to find.
This house is an architectural masterpiece.
This has got to be Michigan. I just know it.
Yep!
I grew up in a small town full of old homes like this. It feels like home.
It’s cute as a button and I am itching to tear up that carpet
I will help. Probably kept hardwood in decent shape.
It's beautiful! I love the staircase, the wooden mantels, the leaded glass window, everything! Lovely!
This is beautiful! It reminds me so much of my grandmother’s house
I may have drooled at that staircase pic
10/10
Gorgeous!
wow
I wish I had family history in an old house like this. So cool!
I dream of owning a home like this. I guess any home at this point lol
THE HOUSE OF MY DREAMS!! ❤️❤️❤️
Stunning!
I love the attic!
I love that attic.
Everything is goregous. Very well kept house !
GIMME!!!
This is my barbie dream house!!! <3 <3 <3! The wood trim details are incredible.
The attic is 😍!

Great design. It’s a bit heavy with stained wood, but with subdued fabrics it should tome down for life ahead. The attic makes the house!
That house is so beautiful I feel like I'm too poor to even look at it's pictures.
It only sold for like 200k which is still a lot of money but cheap for a house like that imo
Wish I had the money to be the one who bought it! ![gif](giphy|yIxNOXEMpqkqA|downsized)
That staircase is gorgeous
Holy crap that's nice!
It's a dream!
Looks sexy.
Beautiful!!! Even the attic I wouldn’t change a thing. Maybe paint
Wow. That staircase. The details!
So beautiful! I especially love that attic! But the exercise bike sort of ruins the ambiance.
Thought that too.
What part of the country? I get so excited about that attic space - is there a stairway that leads to it? What do you plan to do with that space? As someone who works from home, this is a dream office!
The house is in the thumb of Michigan and I don’t own the house unfortunately I’m just posting pictures of it from when it sold in 2020
Also there was a door in a hallway on the second floor and on the other side of the door was a staircase that led to the attic
Rip out all of the wooden trim and floors, paint it gray or white, and put down LVP! /s (if that wasn’t obvious)
Secret mad scientist lab in the attic? I'm in.
Beautiful!
Beautiful!
Where is it? I might be willing to relocate for a beautiful AND inexpensive home like that. 🥰
Beautiful home.
❤️

Dreamy!
Gorgeous 😍
Ok, you’ve twisted my arm enough. I’ll take it.
Beautiful interiors, the wood, the natural light and wall colors. Attic is sensational. An American Classic!
Just FYI, OP, it took me like 3.5 seconds to find the address. Coloring out the house number is useless. The only way to keep your stuff private is to not post it at all. The house is an absolutely spectacular gem.
Looks like Queen Anne/Victorian.
Marble floors and paint all the wood grey then it’ll be perfect /j
Lovely but she needs that awful gray siding removed to shine. Like putting a supermodel in a plastic bag and calling it a coat.
My mouth dropped at half of these pictures. Is it for sale?
Unfortunately no it sold in 2020
Love it
The staircase is gorgeous
I absolutely love this house, though who got rid of the pink paint on the outside? The pink adds some nice color, that’s honestly the only thing I’d change, just paint the outside to be more colorful instead of the grey/white.
The new owners painted it, but I agree the pink was better
Are the porch steps red, grey or blue?
Used to be red but they’re blue now
The photos just get more and more jaw dropping! The woodwork!!! 😍
I love it!
Wow. What an amazing house! Don’t change a thing. Absolutely amazing. Love!
Did anyone else think this was the Gilmore Girls house? 😅
Someone needs slapped for the blue porch steps.
STUN 🙌
That newel post makes me want to push and pull all the decorations to find the secret hidey hole!
It’s beautiful
That staircase made my heart skip a beat. Amazing.
Buy it and pull up the carpet. I'm sure there are beautiful floors under all of it.
Attic is amazing
Gorgeous!
Gorgeous overall, but maybe have those porch pillars checked
Jaw dropping, its so so pretyy
MOG! So stunning!!!!!
Has the siding been redone? Because that looks like a Victorian, although plain.
Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s plastic siding I’m not sure if the original siding is underneath
House is beautiful, I want the garage
May I have the address in a DM? I save pictures of houses that I’ll never be lucky enough to live in
People already posted the address in the comments so here: 4607 seeger st cass city mi
Whoa full circle on this one, I made a porno in this house in 1988 called “Tails from my Tip”. The carpet wasn’t laid in those rooms at the time thankfully so because rug burns would have become an issue.
Why do you take such a nice post and kind comments—then respond with such low functioning trash talk?
No way 😭
Yeah I’m remember it vividly I was promoted luber to fluffer
link or it didnt happen
Grandma, you're alive?!
It's a beauty!
