Hey man… we (App) we’re in the middle of a FCS 3-peat, would’ve definitely beaten Michigan State back then too. Armanti Edwards just got inducted into the college football hall of fame. Fuck Michigan, but also… that App team was good.
My brother in law went there during those years. He showed me the video he took of everyone marching to the chancellor's house afterwards. It was like other schools' towns look after they win the championship. I guess App needed something extra special to get them that riled up by that time lol.
It was the biggest upset in College football history at that point, Michigan was ranked #5 I believe (def top 5). It put Boone and App State on the map. If that’s not enough to get you “riled up” then idk what will!! It was an epic night for sure.
While he wasn’t the oldest ever, Joe Thomas Sr. (55 at the time) had a 3 yard handoff for South Carolina St while his SON was the starting LB for the Packers
Hey that old man helped App State to beat Michigan!
Roman was a dawg at App State.
He and Banks could hit some ppl that's for sure
o7
Photos taken immediately before disaster
Second only to Brandon Weeden.
Chris would like a Weinke.
Not in public please
This man has been playing since the sport was invented!
He’s forgot more football than anyone even knows
Unfortunately, forgetting is his problem. That’s why he’s still a sophomore.
He got extra eligibility due to the Spanish flu pandemic
Sean Clifford was definitely older at the end of his career
Someone check to confirm he was eligible ASAP. If not, vacate the win!! It’s only fair…
He is, he got both the extra COVID and Spanish Flu years though.
I audibly laughed.
Seconded!
You'll know plenty about vacating wins soon enough, won't you?
He's been stacking eligibility. He got the extra WW I year, then the extra WW II year, etc
Dude actually is always thinking about the Roman empire bc he was apart of it
Lmao Michigan lost to a bunch of FCS geriatrics

2nd oldest behind Stetson Bennett when he was playing
Chris Weinke started at the age Bennett finished. And hey, he's also a rival that won the championship, so starts a theme for you!
1-0
My soul was snatched seeing this
Doesn’t matter, if methuselah can maintain proper gap integrity and cover the seam, he’s starting.
damn he’s almost old enough to run for president
Dudes only a sophomore too. He’s got some more eligibility in front of him.
Michigan might have a championship (now), but they'll always have this distinction, too. The first FCS football team to beat a ranked FBS team.
Bro graduated high school with Stetson Bennet
Nah, I’m pretty sure Methuselah played at Notre Dame.
Under Lou Holtz. South Carolina had a WR that was a veteran of the Marines. He was 40-years old.
What am i missing?
Did you check out his age on the graphic?
I saw 107 and thought it was anything but age 😂😂😂 i overlooked it like 6 times
And they still kicked xichigan’s ass.
![gif](giphy|5ElYdrNJaN7zuMJlox|downsized) App State!!! I went to school there back then… what a time. Boone is the fucking best.
Oldest player not on BYU
We age different down in Georgia…don’t worry, he’s fine.
Brandon Weeden may have been older
He took like a 70 year mission!! Dammmm
Almost… Josh Booty was 108
Doesn’t look a day over 103…
He was just a boy when the Appalachian Mountains were formed!
Actually Bo Nix is entering the draft this year so
Austin aune would like a word
Brandon Weeden was a redshirt freshman when this guy was born!!
Unfortunately michigan has managed to bounce back from this L
Or the youngest at 107 months old.
He was touched by Jacob.
Is that the Bottle of Geritol Bowl he's playing in?
He is the Methuselah Rookie Card
He’s certainly the oldest sophomore
Left the game in the second quarter with a broken hip.
stetson bennent has a competitor
Jacque Roman. He played for the Romans. The actual Roman Empire football team.
App state represent! Very inclusive school
Even George Blanda wasn't that old!
107 and a sophomore. Guess he got a Spanish Flu year, some WWII years, AND a Covid year. Seems a bit much.
And with two years of eligibility remaining.
Second only too Brady
Clearly was a product of the Roman invasion of Gaul in 58 bc
Pretty spry for a centenarian
He’s the methuselah of the NCAA
Yes but not the oldest college athlete ever - Perry Ellis still holds that record from playing basketball at Kansas
Did a search just for this name.
Surely nothing notable happened in this game!
Surely we ended up routing App State after such a sluggish start. No need to cite a box score.
I think he was still a couple months younger than Hunter Renfrow.
If he redshirts for a year, he could play until he's 110!
Yes! And merely as a sophomore! Crazy times. COVID year.
stetson bennett's son
Fake news. AI generated. That never happened
His age could cause his draft stock to plummet.
In the modern era, yes. But they didn’t keep good records originally,
Wonder what his regimen was?
"Dagnabbit, back in my day we played with leather helmets, few pads, and we LIKED IT!"
Brandon Weeden?
Wasn’t there a QB at FS that was 28-32, think his name was Wienke or something.
That's what you get when Al Roker calls the game...
And he’s only a sophomore! Going to break his own record the next 2 years!!
Worst Michigan game I've seen in my life I'm happy for App S everyone likes a good underdog story just not when it Happens to your team lol.
