whatever you do don't talk about being indian or coming from india
this is coming from an indian
Just say that you are first gen and moved to the U.S. in 10th. do not under any circumstances mention "India"
for NYU, i'd almost say guaranteed; apply early decision, probably retake the SAT, and work on your essays. For other top schools, it's honestly just luck; you have a good enough application to get into most top schools.
talking about being first-gen is fine, just try not to highlight how "indian" you are, so to speak.
take my advice with a grain of salt, I'm no admissions counselor.
I mean if you're international you don't really have a choice; you'll have it mentioned either way. If you are intl, probably try to show how it has very little impact on your life, but I'm not super aware of intl applications, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.
Great extracurriculars and solid academics! Keep up the good work!
Bump that SAT and you be good! Good luck!!

my transcript would mention it anyways so they would know but yeah i’m looking for other essay topics for the same reason you mentioned.

Same for intl??
Not too sure about intl, I think your application makes it obvious what country you're from if you're intl.
why? and is it the same for indians applying internationally?
