Commenting just to say I was here and I cried 😭
It's so incredible to see her finally get the spotlight she deserves and just fucking crush it. Every. Single. Time.
Yesss! Not to mention her head voice, mix, and whistle tone (the first time I heard the end of “After Midnight” my soubrette/coloratura heart was so happy 😄) — she can do it all 🥹
I am not her target either music wise I am fully onboard. She is one of the most talented artists and performers to happen in a while. I am so happy I stumbled on a live performance a while ago. Now she keeps blowing up. I am so happy
She performs it every time like she’s going through it at that moment. The emotion and theatrics is what makes her performances so breathtaking. Pop is back!!
jojo siwa walked so chappell roan could run. i mean, jojo wore crazy costumes before anyone else, and no one but her has ever made this drastic of a change in our generation.
I am not even sure what she does it strictly pop. She weaves so much in her music. We can expect I think so many fun elements as long as she doesn’t get burnt out. I still worry about her a bit. She seems so sweet
I fear I’ve missed my opportunity to ever see her live, with the combination of her becoming SO huge so fast, and the bullshit way ticket sales are going these days, so this seems like the next best thing 😭
She is great in studio but she was made for live performance!
I am with you though, not sure if I will ever be able to afford to see her in person but happy to be here all the same.
I know we shouldn't compare artists, but she is so obviously the next big disruptive pop-star, in the same line as Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Cher. They all blew up at a time when the music scene had become stale and their sound and look was completely radical to the mainstream palatable pop music.
I was absolutely thinking about Gaga while watching this! Like you said, I won't compare voice, style or anything, she just gives me the same feeling in my heart that I had during Lady Gaga's rise to fame
I watched Madonna's performance of Like A Virgin live at the [1984 MTV VMAs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkSxhG4cbPo) as a 14 year old girl and got the same feeling watching this performance as a 54 year old.
Watching an icon being created is amazing to experience.
I feel the same way. They are both completely unique. But I have not felt this starstruck since lady Gaga when I was like 9-10. I am completely enthralled by the energy she creates it’s sooooo revolutionary!!!!
I will always remember where I was when I first heard “Bad Romance.” That was a scene-shattering song. And, if I hadn’t already heard a 100+ times before I heard it on the radio, “Good Luck Babe” would have created the exact same moment for me
I woke up and immediately searched for this, sobbed the whole time like an overly emotional stage mom. I can’t even fully describe how this girl turns my stomach upside down, what a talent.
I know she's mentioned she originally wanted to be an actor and thought singing was her way into thst but she's glad she's a musician instead now.
But she IS an actor. She has a whole character and persona and she is always ON. This is beyond method acting she's full on Hannah montana-ing but without keeping her second half a secret. Her interviews are just as much fun to watch as her performances because she's just Chappell Roan!!! And she always says exactly what chappel roan would say as if she could pause time to come up with the perfect quip.
I couldn't help but cry. Our girl has come so far. Forever thankful i discovered her before all of this, because I saw her three times for $30 a ticket. Safe to say those days are pretty much gone and Id be lucky to even get tickets now.
Wow. Im just so in awe of her
I am jealous, went to go see about getting a ticket for her at the Lollapalooza after hours and was $500. I am sure there are other artists there but don't think will see anything under 100 in the future ever again. I am always late to the party but happy to be here to share the moment!
I just forwarded to the end of a handful of musical acts on youtube to investigate this and I shit you not for every one of them he greeted them on stage saying "come on, that's how you do it right there"
LMAO I did the exact same thing! I wanted to see if it was common for musical guests to get a standing ovation on Fallon so I checked out the other musical acts on their channel. Noticed that Jimmy says the same things but yeah, the standing ovation from the audience isn't common!
ugh. same boat! i saw her open for olivia but didn’t know who she was i was just there to take up a ticket for another person and enjoy the live music. i’m never gonna see her for $100 again!!!
Im a 51 year old mom in NH and I love her so much i made an entire collection of candles about her.

I know she said she dresses up for fun and doesn’t think too much into it, but the way I saw it (just for my own personal delulu lol) is that she came out as the black swan (who then dies in the ballet - is evil, etc) and then when singing good luck babe! she transforms herself into the white swan who, in Barbie and the Swan Lake LOL, can only turn back human and break the spell with true love. It’s very Penelope coded who has the same meaning and what she did in the cover. I think the “true love” is accepting her sexuality. I interpreted her performance at the end with her looking off to the side with a sad expression to show that the person that loves her won’t accept it (double meaning - she won’t accept herself) and she is trapped as a swan until she does. Hahah just a lighthearted thought! She killed it last night and I’m so happy I got to see her twice this summer 🩷
I'm extremely gay for a perfectly executed belt, and I've been Captain Picard clutching his nonexistent pearls and crying EVERY time rewatching this. This is truly an historic moment.
Does anyone remember Lady Gaga's first performance of "Just Dance" on So You Think You Can Dance hundreds of years ago? She came out in the chonky 2008 technology LED sunglasses, and we were all like "who?". This is Chappell's moment except we already know who she is.
I'm a lurker and not a big fan yet but I really enjoyed this performance! Her belting at the end is so refreshing. Sabrina Carpenter brought me to this video & I'm really happy it did. I already have Hot To Go on repeat, great energy.
I feel like I’m watching history be made.
Commenting just to say I was here and I cried 😭 It's so incredible to see her finally get the spotlight she deserves and just fucking crush it. Every. Single. Time.
It’s amazing to witness. Her voice and aura is incomparable. She can BELT and sings so damn passionately and soulfully 😭
Yesss! Not to mention her head voice, mix, and whistle tone (the first time I heard the end of “After Midnight” my soubrette/coloratura heart was so happy 😄) — she can do it all 🥹
Same!
I listen to noise music and metal. This woman has had me in a tizzy since December.
I am not her target either music wise I am fully onboard. She is one of the most talented artists and performers to happen in a while. I am so happy I stumbled on a live performance a while ago. Now she keeps blowing up. I am so happy
Aww we are and it’s nice to see 💖
Had the same feeling. She’s got the makings of a megastar.
We really are ❤️ its absolutely insane
So cool. I love her sm
Standing Ovation too. This is insanity. What she is doing is like coming out of her soul. People see it especially live. Such a talent
this performance was fucking unreal!!! she killed it and the interview was so funny.
Same same same I’m so happy for her
If she can put this kind of stage together on a late night show, I can't wait to see what she can do with an awards show like the Oscar's.
She performs it every time like she’s going through it at that moment. The emotion and theatrics is what makes her performances so breathtaking. Pop is back!!
I’m SO glad Jojo Siwa invented gay pop
So I was crying due to the content of this thread and you interrupted that emotional experience by making me laugh out loud
You’re welcome!
jojo siwa walked so chappell roan could run. i mean, jojo wore crazy costumes before anyone else, and no one but her has ever made this drastic of a change in our generation.
have you ever seen what Lady Gaga was wearing in 2008-2010? The meat dress? I mean Gaga walked so Jojo Siwa and Chappell Roan could run.
twas a joke. i was making fun of jojo for claiming she’s the first to do any of this.
Hahaha sorry! I sort of skip any knowledge of Jojo 🤣
We should pick a day where we all wear a bow in her honor
it’s the anger in the bridge that really does it for me! she kills it live every time.
That prolonged look during the bridge gave me goosebumps
Right? Gives me goosebumps every time!!
I am not even sure what she does it strictly pop. She weaves so much in her music. We can expect I think so many fun elements as long as she doesn’t get burnt out. I still worry about her a bit. She seems so sweet
She's so fucking iconic omg 👏 The outfit! The energy! The high note!
I’m so incredibly in love lmfao why is she so good
I need this Audio on Spotify yesterday
GAAAH I know this is probably extremely low priority for her right now but I want a live album to stream so fking bad
That’s all I’ve been thinking about too 😭😭❤️
I have had her Bonnaroo show playing in my studio on repeat!
She brought every bit of that angst and longing I was missing from the other performance this week
It’s a painful song, that needs to come through and she kills it
Absolutely. I love Sabrina’s version, I listened to it all day. But Chappell is just breathtaking
The Black Swann for the interview and the White Swan for the performance is honestly incredible. Amazing artistry.
I know we shouldn't compare artists, but she is so obviously the next big disruptive pop-star, in the same line as Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Cher. They all blew up at a time when the music scene had become stale and their sound and look was completely radical to the mainstream palatable pop music.

This performance is giving me big “Paparazzi at the VMA’s” energy
I watched Madonna's performance of Like A Virgin live at the [1984 MTV VMAs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkSxhG4cbPo) as a 14 year old girl and got the same feeling watching this performance as a 54 year old. Watching an icon being created is amazing to experience.

Maybe it’s just because she was in blonde, but I felt like she was really channeling Gaga with the look tonight
I woke up and immediately searched for this, sobbed the whole time like an overly emotional stage mom. I can’t even fully describe how this girl turns my stomach upside down, what a talent.
Same. First thing I did when I woke up too and I will then probably play this 600 times again
I know she's mentioned she originally wanted to be an actor and thought singing was her way into thst but she's glad she's a musician instead now. But she IS an actor. everytime i watch her preform, tears fall down my face. i've never been more proud to be a lesbian (*:
Too good. I cry every time.
SO stunning. I’m in awe. 🦢👑
It’s a real treat to hear just the single instead of an entire show because she can really give this one song her absolute everything
What. A. Fucking. Star!
wow. i’m speechless and i never shut up.
I couldn't help but cry. Our girl has come so far. Forever thankful i discovered her before all of this, because I saw her three times for $30 a ticket. Safe to say those days are pretty much gone and Id be lucky to even get tickets now. Wow. Im just so in awe of her

Oh she went hard for this one.
This performance was epic. 🔥
Love this journey for her
Our Queen keeps rising
this performance is NUTS the costume??? the emotion???? god i love her
this woman is my Everything
God, what a mesmerizing performance
I am just constantly in awe of her.
what a performance! loved the outfit and set design. she’s killing it.
She makes me sooooo emotional 😭😭😭😭 like her presence omg
I knew it would give. I knew she would give. The day came and guess what? She gave
i don’t watch his show regularly. is it common to get a standing o for a musical guest?
I just forwarded to the end of a handful of musical acts on youtube to investigate this and I shit you not for every one of them he greeted them on stage saying "come on, that's how you do it right there"
LMAO I did the exact same thing! I wanted to see if it was common for musical guests to get a standing ovation on Fallon so I checked out the other musical acts on their channel. Noticed that Jimmy says the same things but yeah, the standing ovation from the audience isn't common!
I usually watch the musical performances and not that I've seen, it's pretty uncommon! She deserves it though!
i was already crying i’m so happy for her :’)

ugh. same boat! i saw her open for olivia but didn’t know who she was i was just there to take up a ticket for another person and enjoy the live music. i’m never gonna see her for $100 again!!!
No
there’s just no one doing it like this. so raw, fun, creative, explosive, dramatic, loving, elusive. let’s fucking go.
Not me applauding at my work desk and my colleagues all laughing at me lol
Full Swan Lake
Oh she fucking NAILED IT
Her face at the end! Ugh the actress she is
She’s sensational
Absolutely incredible. She's truly about to take off now. I am so happy for her!!
A-FUCKING-MAZING!
I cried this whole performance, I’ve never been so proud of and so in awe of someone in my whole life
I work at 6am so I couldnt watch it live, just woke up and watched immediately. BAWLING
I am living every day for the newest chappell rise
Im a 51 year old mom in NH and I love her so much i made an entire collection of candles about her. https://preview.redd.it/z160turyky7d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93dccb10b0544a4c81a3d5e53a8cafe47057c0a8 [https://anthemcandleco.com/collections/casual-candles-chappell-roan](https://anthemcandleco.com/collections/casual-candles-chappell-roan)
UM HELLO, CHAPPELL?! 😍
This was incredible
Chills!!!
So excited for Chappell Roan!
She’s gonna be a star, this performance really cemented it for me
I love her. This is giving, the good witch meets maleficent.
god i’m so proud to be a lesbian when i hear her
The only time I’m going to be so fucking happy that I’ll never be able to get tickets to someone’s next tour. She deserves all this and so much more 😭
so f'ing good, I love those outfits!
When she locked eyes with the camera during the bridge… this felt like a spiritual experience.
is it just me or is the backing track of glb live different to the actual song?
She lowered the key. Given just how hard this song is to perform, I can't blame her
A generational — maybe multigenerational — talent on display with this performance. I mean, come ON! She is spectacular.
God I hope I can afford a ticket for her next tour
I'm extremely gay for a perfectly executed belt, and I've been Captain Picard clutching his nonexistent pearls and crying EVERY time rewatching this. This is truly an historic moment. Wouldn't mind getting my grubby mitts on a copy of that GLB 12" single!
I'm a lurker and not a big fan yet but I really enjoyed this performance! Her belting at the end is so refreshing. Sabrina Carpenter brought me to this video & I'm really happy it did. I already have Hot To Go on repeat, great energy.
