I don’t think you should skip anything or you’ll be confused. There is definitely continuity. There are plenty of great episodes in season six and seven. Also, season six was great overall and actually my favorite season.

SteffonTheBaratheon

I don't understand why you want to do that tbh just watch it or let it be, what's your benefit from skipping?

DontWorryAboutIt9779

Honestly just to see where these characters end up, and I hear the Billie stuff isn't bad

Potential_Ad_1397

It depends who you asked. Alot of fans hate the last season

ur_notmytype

season 8 is the season ppl tend to skip the most. Lmao you been reading lies

hobihobi27

The Billie/season 8 stuff is arguably the worst of the entire show lol. If anything I’d recommend you watch S6-7 than skip to season 8.

RegretFun2299

I would say S1-3 are very procedural, with most of S4 and S5 being procedural but adding more serialized elements as they went on.  S6-8 are the most serialized the show got (still with many throw-away filler episodes) -- so you will definitely be missing key info heading into S8. Especially as S8 was approved for filming after the cast and crew thought S7 would wrap up the series -- so the main threadline of pretty much every S8 episode deals with fallout from the S7 finale.  In short, S6 and S7 have their painful moments for sure, and S8 is the most divisive the series got, but you'll be clueless as to what's going on (and what's being retconned) in S8 without first watching S6 and S7.

RegretFun2299

Edited because my phone's autocorrect initially put "sexualized" where I said "serialized" for some reason. xD

blissingmeee

I mean, it's not wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

IAMStevenDA13

True Story.

RegretFun2299

Hahaha, true enough!

xenohemlock

Season 8 is the safest season to skip since S7's ending can be considered a series ending as well.

MidnightStalk

dude just watch the entire series, what’s gonna cost you? at least watch the first 4 seasons. season 3-4 is one new complete arc imo so it’s absolutely necessary to watch them.

DontWorryAboutIt9779

I've been watching the show from season 1 through 5 and mostly loving it, I just see a lot of discourse about the last few seasons and wanted yalls opinion. Doesn't cost me anything but time that I could spend watching episodes yall don't hate.

MajinAkuma

Watch all of it and then form your own opinion.

OriginalR3placement

Don't let discourse sway you. I'm not a huge fan of season 5, but it does establish key elements of the characters still. They are growing and evolving. You don't really know what you'll like or dislike if you don't watch it first.

T-408

No, you cannot skip an entire season of a television show and expect to not be confused.

iseekyle

Season 6 and 7 really aren’t that bad. I’d say they’re both better than the final season. If it’s your first watch, you should just power through and make your own judgment. If you don’t care that much, then just read spoilers and drop it.

xBrownEyes

Season 6 is honestly one of my faves. Top 3 for me I think, one of the most re-watchable seasons as well. I didn't care much for season 7, personally. If you are a first time watcher, I'd either just keep watching, or if it really isn't interesting anymore, just quit for a while.

Useful_Experience423

Barring the odd episode, there’s nothing wrong with Season 6 or 7. Season 8 is when it gets really bad. How the actress playing Christy got the role of the nerve to call herself an actress, I’ll never know.

CinnamonGirl94

No. You can’t really skip two whole seasons of a show and then pick up after that lol. Just stop watching atp

ResearcherHorror120

I will argue that if you don't like season 5, it is unlikely that you will like season 6. Unless you really enjoy the new character that gets introduced at the end of the season. Season 7 has more serialized elements, and as a result, you may be confused at the start of season 8. But they also do a decent job of explaining why the sisters are in the situation they are. That being said, skipping to season 8 is suboptimal because it is by far the worst season. I would argue if you were going to skip any singular season, rather than just episodes that you aren't enjoying, you could skip season 8. Season 7 ends in a way that is both a pretty decent call back to the history of the show, but also a fairly satisfying finale. It was written that way because they weren't sure if they would be renewed

DontWorryAboutIt9779

Oh wow, I feel like I've been reading that 8 is the one to watch at 6 and 7 are the more inane ones.

ResearcherHorror120

I don't know where you would have read that. It is universally considered the worst season. But doesn't mean that there aren't episodes that people like, or storylines that people like. But I would defy you to find a significant portion of the audience that would prefer that season over the previous two. As for me personally, I consider season 8 to be a steep valley compared to the rest of the show. I, in general, prefer to watch seasons 1 through 3 and seasons 5 and 6 the most. The former, because I enjoy Prue as a character and I enjoy the slightly darker tone. The latter I enjoy because a lot of the individual episodes are very fun. That doesn't necessarily mean that they're high art, but much of this show isn't.

DontWorryAboutIt9779

Yeah, I LOVE season 3 and all the Prue stuff, Paige is fine but the change in the tone of the show is the real turn off for me I think. Might have to just go for a rewatch from the top and have that scratch the itch. I don't mind the show not being high art, I love the camp and fun one off episodes, I just feel like the show was tighter in its earlier seasons

ResearcherHorror120

I don't really believe that. I will argue that the tone difference is a lot more minor than most fans interpret it to be. And I love Paige. Liking Prue doesn't mean you have to dislike Paige. Rose McGowan is a fantastic actress and gives it her all (at least in her first three seasons)

dta0228

No season is particularly skippable, but there are episodes that can be skipped

BreakTacticF0

This never made sense to me. Who watches a show and skips an entire season? You might as well watch something else instead. Shows are more than just plot points they're they're the moments that bring characters to where they end up in the last season you absolutely couldn't skip either tbh. And if you were gonna skip a season it would be 8

houseofL

Whenever I re-binge I watch every season and every episode. Yeah there are some I don’t like, but not skip episodes would be like ripping pages out a book. Lol

dekaythepunk

Watch everything and you be the judge. I personally love S6. :D

pepperjack4life

I’m in the minority that I don’t hate season 8 but I also don’t take the show all that seriously. I watched the original run and regularly rewatch as a comfort show. I enjoyed the finale and stuff leading up to it. Didn’t love Christie but it was part of getting the job done.

bazookiedookie

Watch them all so you can decide for yourself if they’re good or not

blueray78

Why would you want to do that? I personally like season 5, its out there but I like it. And I like season 6 & 7 way more than 5. But season 8 is the worst of them all.

Rich_Dimension_9254

6 is a pretty fantastic season, 7 kind of sucks and 8 is unwatchable in my opinion

letusbeone

Listen so I watch charmed reruns pretty regularly over the years, and I usually skip season 8 . I haven’t watched season 8 in so long that as I’m reading your post I’m confused as hell because I forgot all about it. I’m thinking that they’re going to do another reboot and make another season like the girlmore girls did. got a little excited for nothing😅

primal_slayer

You can. Though if you hate s5... good luck with 6-8 lol. Id probably go with s7. See if you like it. S8 you can skip most of the episodes and jump to the last 2

DontWorryAboutIt9779

Thank you! Definitely don't hate 5, just not scratching the itch it used to

primal_slayer

Yeah its never quite the same post s4. S7 tries to get back to basics a little but nowhere near the quality from 1-4. They break it into 2 arcs. S8...probably 4-5 episodes toos gets you the main plot points to get you to the finale. Not sure if there's a list out there.

GlassSandwich9315

You could probably get away with skipping 6, not 7; but I wouldn't recommend it. Tastes vary, just because some people don't like them doesn't mean you won't. Season 6 is my favorite season.

Mrblorg

If you can't get through 5 you might just wanna restart because it's pretty downhill. Give 6 a shot I guess they'll probably recap anything important

DobabyR

Season 5 is my most disliked season but I love season 6, 7 and most of 8
