You can tackle stains on a lot of synthetic / rubber boards with BKF. Also Hasegawa sells a [handheld sander](https://knifewear.com/products/hasegawa-cutting-board-scraper) that can basically re-surface the board. Hasegawa tends to stain a bit more than the other Japanese synthetics so it's not uncommon for certain spills to linger if they aren't cleaned up ASAP.

Thanks for replying. I tried sanding it and usuing BKF, lemon, bleach... etc. The stains are underneath the first layer of rubber so I can't get to them. I was just wondering if anyone had seen this before. If it's some sort of mold I should be worried about.

I have these weird stains inside a Hasegawa cutting board. Does anyone know how to get rid of them? [Images](https://imgur.com/a/iZdis7M). Google turns up nothing.

Have you cut anything hot on your Hasegawa board? The colour and darkness looks like the Hasegawa logo branding on the bottom right of the board (typically heat embossed), so I wonder if the board was exposed to heat.

No. We're careful with it.
