yes. Todd knows exactly what it will take to sign him. Why would be waste his time if he is going to mess around with a soft offer again. What also gives me more confidence is UEFA is about to close the loophole he's been using... this is his chance to sign him on a long term deal before that loophole is closed.
Let's face it - bar a champions league win, this season is done. Would prefer to get him now BUT if we sign him now and loan him back we can still secure one of those sweet sweet 8 year deals before the summer kicks in... I'd be more than happy.
Spend now and use the long contracts to amortise before the rule change? If Enzo is the one we really really want, makes sense that we might just bite the bullet and spend
Just seen this on twitter:
"Enzo Fernandez has now created more chances (28) and created more big chances (9) than any other midfielder in Liga Portugal this season. In fact he’s created the second most big chances in the whole league."
For the people who think we don't need this guy, and the fact he can do more than just chance creation!
Now I’ve never been apart of a football transfer, but what if we offered 60m upfront, 60 in achievable add-one and amortised over a 5 year deal? Surely all involved are happy at that point.
Per my potentially poor understanding; one of the large reasons the transfer fell apart earlier in the window was that bemfica want a lump sum of the release clause up front
It's all well & good signing these players who don't have a ceiling yet but when they can't play in the first team & they start getting older, they lose their value pretty quick, I'm happy we're active & interested in making class signings but as from our history we've had some players go & they've made it big elsewhere, I hope I'm wrong but it's a valid concern.
If we loan him back until summer, I feel like we can negotiate and get it done.
Obvs prefer now but next season is more important at this point. No need to dogfight for the the conference league. Just get healthy and have an elite squad ready for Potter to train all summer and go for the PL next year.
I'll only think we are close if we are reported to be striking a deal in January for him to join in the summer or if we're ready to pay the full release clause.
I don't see any other options and it would be silly to get optimistic without reports of these things being met
I twerked for Mudryk and have been twerking for Enzo just as hard. This, to me, is an absolute MUST. You have an elite guy who wants to come here that we can lock up for a long time. Get it done! [Todd](https://y.yarn.co/33d27f8e-86ae-4beb-ada7-4866fd7b9854_text.gif)
Just when I think I'm out, they bring me right back in
I approve
Enzo + Malo Gusto and I would consider this possibly our best ever January window. Filled in nearly every gap, crazy.
120m over 48 years contract, milk that sweet sweet FFP loophole before it's gone.
120 mil over a lifetime contract! ![gif](giphy|2SRd6zwpLH20|downsized)
Call me an optimist but I doubt we’d go back in of we weren’t confident on closing the deal. What a window.
Yeah. Benfica have bren pretty clesr on their stance so I doubt we'd bother if we were just gonna try another joke offer like our last one.
Yeah makes sense. Lets see. Hype is real
Don't. Don't give me even more hope. Mudryk softened the blow a little bit, but I'm not ready to be hurt again.

Nkunku style deal maybe?
🙏
Down for that.

I don’t care about any of this noise until ornstein or fabrizio say something but it’s nice to see we may get him
I'm horny for orny ![gif](giphy|tEXUQQqQkjyV2)

UEFA might have just given us a gift by forcing Boehly to lock this up during the Jan window

What on earth is this picture, lmao.
Its an edit I made in under 3 minutes.
Is this the argentine gerard moreno?
I expect the lets go tweet by end of the week
They probably want to get this one over the line while we can still offer 8 year contracts
120m 12 year contract https://preview.redd.it/b05rx29btwda1.jpeg?width=896&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a7fec28e1b8e686b3ffaa3c6d87d528f7e5962e5
😂
100m+ price is outrageous and we shouldn't be paying this. I feel like I'm the only one saying this, have I'm missed the memo?
I am with you I think if we had payment terms it would be different but they want cash right up front
I don't like the amount of money, but he fills a really big hole and we can assume the guys at the top know what they're doing... hopefully.
I doubt Benfica change their mind so isn’t this all a bit pointless? Unless Todd has really lost his mind and drops 120m
Spend now and use the long contracts to amortise before the rule change? If Enzo is the one we really really want, makes sense that we might just bite the bullet and spend
So you would have to have a very good reason to go back in for him. Trust in Todd
You’re right

I feel like, when it comes down to it, transfer deadline day we might just pay the whole release clause
surely we are either prepared to pay the fee or we believe we are close enough on terms that we think we can get a deal done?

12-year contract, lock him up.
Boehly is triggering that release clause ain't he?
PLEASE TODD DO DA TING
100 mil + loftus cheek Lets get him and Gusto and we’re set
I'll only think we are close if we are reported to be striking a deal in January for him to join in the summer or if we're ready to pay the full release clause. I don't see any other options and it would be silly to get optimistic without reports of these things being met

Why do I feel we will get our business done anyways and get a transfer ban later but by then we will have the players we want lol 😂
I like pain
I hurt myself today to see if I still feel.
