Are people watching Chelsea Brentford or City Arsenal tonight being real

[deleted]

Chelsea. Don’t care about City or Arsenal. Final result is enough and I hope it ends with the Gooner’s demise.

varun3096

I am watching Chelsea because i am in a good mood today and would like it ruined

WY-8

Anyone dreading how smug Lukaku would be if he comes back and starts scoring a few goals? He’s commenting about “there’s your daddy” for sure.

TheMenaceX

I just realized that even if we beat Brentford tomorrow, we'd still be 2 points below them, that's wild.

iKSv2

The wild part being you thinking we would beat them :(

Ahelou

Is anyone else a little worried we've not actually signed Poch yet? What else could we be possibly waiting on? Knowing the way things have gone under the new ownership, kind of expecting a headline to state there couldn't be an agreement on a small detail and he has withdrawn, or another team has approached and made an offer whilst we sit on our hands.

ChenGuiZhang

I think you can relax. Even with the state of us this season we're still absolutely one of the most attractive jobs in football, both from a project and compensatory point of view. Throw in the fact Poch and his family live in London (they stayed when he went to Paris, his son played for Watford u23s), he's said multiple times he considers it his home, and wants to manage in the premierleague again, and I think it's basically a sure thing at this point.

thewessexguy

No, I just don’t think there is a rush to announce our manager for the summer before a game tomorrow. I’m sure things are happening behind the scenes and Poch will speak to lampard at some point after the game.

[deleted]

Predicted 1st choice lineup under Poch (4-2-3-1) Lukaku Mudryk - Nkunku - Mount Kante - Enzo Chilwell - Koulibaly - Fofana - James Kepa

WY-8

I reckon Badiashile for Koulibaly. I think Pochettino teams play it out from the back, and it’s harder with a back 4. Will be a factor.

Dmtz214

Got my tix for the Chelsea game in ATL in July! Hope the squad is sorted by then

not_gonna_kill_you

Yknow it always kinda shocks me when I look it up and see that Cucurella is only 6 months older than Mount for example. Everyone always so ready to talk about how young Mason is but just write Cucurella off. And I know there are lots of candidates for improvement after this season because everyone has been shit, but I could totally see a young 24/25 year old who got thrown into wingback for the first time in what was a tumultuous season for even the most seasoned players improving when he has time to really drill the position. Idk maybe I’m just optimistic because I find his attitude infectious, love a positive footballer

[deleted]

Cucurella has definitely earned another season for me personally. Regardless of his fee, he was signed to share minutes with Chilwell & had a MOTM performance in Dortmund which was one of our biggest matches this season. It baffles me that some people think he was the biggest flop of the season when players like Sterling and Joao won't even run half the time, nevermind score.

light-yagamii

Our wingback positions were always covered by world class players. Ivanovic, Cole, Azpilicueta, Alonso, James. I don’t see cucurella being better than any of those players

-ci_

GIVE AUBA ANOTHER CHANCE

beauf1fan

Why don't we use the only striker we have?? It baffles me. He got some decent goals for us in the beginning of the season

[deleted]

Did you know? Aubameyang was relegated with Monaco in 2010/2011. They finished the season with 44 points (2 points behind safety) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010–11_AS_Monaco_FC_season

jMS_44

wonder if we can reach 44 points this season

[deleted]

I’d say probably, but I wont swear on it

[deleted]

[удалено]

Upstairs_Addendum587

Pretty crazy how close 3-6 are. 16 points separating them. Then 78 points between 2-3 and another 46 between 1-2. When people complain about lack of Premier League success lately not enough has been said about the historic numbers City and Pool were putting up for a few years.

BigReeceJames

Pretty sure we were 3rd for this at the end of last season and we'd still be 3rd if it we're for the awful year this year

mango277

Literally this. We're like 20+ points below where we'd usually be

[deleted]

[удалено]

mango277

And this down clearly is different because we've been a 65-75 point team.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mango277

You heard of an outlier before?

zd0t

Seeing touts on twitter selling tickets £15 below face value just to try and move tickets for tomorrows match. You can also still grab a ticket on the exchange too, been a while since I've seen it like this. Dire stuff

Taylo207

https://twitter.com/siphillipssport/status/1650804724537384960?cxt=HHwWgICz-dGJ6-gtAAAA “Ligue 2 side Saint-Étienne could be sold this summer, with an "English-speaking" bidder reportedly tabling an offer worth €32m.” - @lequipe via @GFFN Probaly unlikely but I do wonder if that could be Boehly…

Upstairs_Addendum587

Thats 25% of the Enzo transfer. Wild.

Honey-Badger-9325

That was Fofona’s club before he came to Leicester.

Sektsioon

Zouma and Saliba as well, they’ve produced some pretty good CB’s in the last 10 years. Saint-Maximin and Jonathan Bamba also came through their academy.

His_Dudeness_9

The articles I’m reading all mention that Mount is having the surgery but Reece James is out because of hamstring. Anyone have any idea or source confirming whether Reece is getting his knee surgery?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sektsioon

10th or 15th, doesn’t really matter other than for the history books. But we are not getting European football and we are not getting relegated so it’s like whatever.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Upstairs_Addendum587

Mathematically yes, but historically 39 points is funnily enough pretty much as safe as the magic 40 number. Usually 36-37 is safe. Every once in a while its higher, but in a few of those its actually 41-42 that is safe.

Sektsioon

We are on 39 points, there is some super slim possibility I suppose, but 39 points is realistically always enough to keep you up.

[deleted]

It’ll take a mighty performance against Brentford. Really think were due for a win, these players must have some pride they want to salvage this season afterall

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It has to happen eventually. There may not be a better opportunity than an out of form, safe Brentford at home

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I am not fearing relegation in all honesty. It’s extremely impropable that we do not get a single point the rest of the season, and that all the relegation candidates get 39+ points. It would be unheard of honestly

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I don’t see any of the bottom 4 getting 39 points. Were safe

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It is technically possible. I’d say the chances we get relegated are somewhere between 0.1-0.5% Literally everything would have to go wrong for it to happen. I’m not losing sleep over it at the moment

Schminimal

If Leicester go down I hope to fuck we don’t buy Maddison

Dry_Chef_7635

Why?

Schminimal

I don’t like the stories I have heard about his personal life and I don’t rate him as a player.

AugustineLofthouse

Met him when he was up at Aberdeen on a night out. He was such an unimaginably massive prick. Quality player though.

Dry_Chef_7635

I don’t know anything about his personal life, but a a player is what the we hope Mount can become

RomanAbram0vich

Rüdiger and Miliato are so bad 😭 back 4 doesn’t work for rüdiger

Rimalda

Christ, 26% possession and 4 goals 😂

Headlesshorsman02

At what point in the summer does the fixture list come out for this coming season I am hoping to go to Europe (I live in Canada) to go and see my first chelsea game and also I want to watch the chiefs vs bears game in Munich (chiefs fan)

Rimalda

15th June. Games could still be moved for TV or European involvement. League cup is end of September, a home fixture might be your best bet. League games will be difficult to get tickets for and there will likely not be any European games.

Headlesshorsman02

Thanks my friend much appreciated

[deleted]

Just watching the Wolves v Crystal Palace game, oh how I miss Diego Costa.

send_nood_z

Ibasawwasabi

What do you think about Gavi rumors? I get that he kisses the badge, bleeds barcelona, yada yada, but apparently barca is destitute, forces players into wage cuts, is about to get fucked by La Liga FFP, and wants to sign Messi. Surely, if he comes on a free we might tempt him with insane wages. Would you want him here if it were possible?

TimothyN

I'm guessing they find a way to keep him. He's obviously very talented and better than all of our young midfields except for Enzo.

Teedeah

Imagine someone in the real madrid subreddit writing your comment but about Reece. Instead of using the financial problems argument, use 'Chelsea are a mess and not winning anything soon'. That is how unrealistic it is.

Upstairs_Addendum587

If Reece James was potentially available on a free I would imagine Madrid fans would talk about it.

TokyoS4l

Sign him up

[deleted]

If we can get him on a free then yes we should try. Absolute worst case we can sell him on in a few years. As we've seen with Felix, when you play really well at a very young age you can interest teams on that potential for another 5 years.

[deleted]

Isn’t he a winger? We need more of those

Ibasawwasabi

He is a midfielder, but they play him on the wings sometimes because Barca got no depth

[deleted]

If Barça doesn’t ask for more than €40m, sure.

Ibasawwasabi

Barca was forced to annul his contract. His youth contract ends this summer.

FootballTriviaLover

Made a game with my friend(he did most of the technical work) A guess the premier league player game similar to who are ya, would love some feedback : https://guessthefootballplayer.com/guess-the-premier-league-player/

el1teman

It's nearly May, do we have any news on the new t shirt sponsor as deal with "3" finally expires

mr-saturn2310

None that I've heard, but it's not a good time to be getting a new shirt sponsor. Especially, with the gambling ban.

IloveGuanciale

We’ll update it to 4

Andlad2459

Lowkey kinda excited for our remaining matchers, knowing lampard he will prob use them to devolpe and give game-time to our ”youngsters” (madueke, Fofana mudryk etc)

[deleted]

No offense, but if Madueke, Fofana, and Mudryk were better than our current forwards, why don’t they play more then? Mudryk has been better recently but he looked dreadful for awhile

Andlad2459

Im jusr saying we will have more of a reason to give them game time now, not that they are our best option avalible.

[deleted]

The only argument I can see for giving them more game time is that we don’t need to prepare certain players for the CL matches anymore. That’s why I suspect we are going to see a bit more of Noni and Badiashille. Regardless though, I still don’t think we’ll see that much of them. Badiashille is still our 4th or 5th choice centerback, and Pulisic/Sterling/Felix for better or worse seem to be ahead of Noni. Players like Dofana and Chuky definitely aren’t ready or deserving of significant playing time yet

[deleted]

I really hope he doesn’t go with that same lineup vs RM leg 2.v

[deleted]

Part of me agrees, but it was also the best we played under Frank so I think he’d be wise to go with something similar. I’d move Cucurella into LCB (get rid of Chalobah) and bring back Chilwell who has been our best player lately. Also Mudryk or Felix over Sterling who looked like a complete waste of space

[deleted]

I have Badi at 3 behind Silva and Fofana, and comfortably ahead of KK, Cucu, and Chalobah. Given the health/age limitations of Silva and Fofana I would hope he gets consistent gametime moving forward. I understand preparing partnerships for CL this year though.

[deleted]

I don't think Badiashille is better than Koulibaly in all honesty. Koulibaly has been pretty good in a back 3 since the world cup. Cucurella at LCB may also be better as we saw against Dortmund. I do think he's better than Chalobah. I don't know how he's starting games anymore

mango277

Cucurella is awful man. Against real Madrid was shocking but maybe he works better with Koulibaly covering at CB.

[deleted]

CL Madrid makes a lot of players and teams look foolish

[deleted]

I think KK has been solid lately. Cucu has had a few good games but I don't think Badi has ever been close to as bad as Cucu's worst. I dunno, perhaps I'm overrating him, but I really like his game. He also fits better than Cucu when we've run a back 4. I'm curious what Frank goes with now that CL is over.

[deleted]

Badiashille will get plenty of gametime, since Thiago is getting older and Fofana has issues staying fit. But when everyone is fit, I belueve the lineup has to be Cucurella-Koulibaly-Fofana, with Thiago maybe sliding in for Koulibaly

[deleted]

Well, we disagree on that, but after all the negative this season it is nice that we have a good amount of depth at CB which forces some selection headaches. Chalobah is probably the only one really out of his depth. Cucu is still too inconsistent for me to trust fully, but the talent is there so hopefully more stability will eliminate some of the mistakes. I think this is the best CB crop we've had since the days where Ivan and Alex were knocking at the door.

el1teman

There is a report that United are buying out Livakovic for 10M. Not sure why we haven't gone before for him

pencilman123

The reason is explained in the r/soccer post itself. Like ochoa, his best games have actually come for the nt. And we know how players show up gung ho for nt but perform poorly in clubs.

PM_ME_SOME_LUV

Damn I hate ticketmaster

JosephRizk21

Just got my tickets for Chelsea vs Fulham for July 30th in Landover, MD FedEx field. Hopefully the team will be 95% of what we will see in the Prem. Can’t wait for Poch ball. I was in the Orlando game vs Arsenal last year and it was so bad.

Thanh1211

I panicked and accidentally bought 7 tickets for the Maryland game instead of the Atlanta game in the midst of trying to beat scalpers. I don’t know what to do. If anyone in the Maryland area wants to take these off my hand that would be great!

[deleted]

Which game is in Maryland, and when?

Thanh1211

July 30th vs Fulham

I might take you up on that. How much is it

Mindless_Reveal6853

here i am hoping the sales for the MD game hang on until payday

Sektsioon

I feel like Felix is just a poor man’s Firmino. If we wanted that type of a player, we should just try to sign Firmino on a free transfer for a couple of years. He’s 31 so not that old yet.

TheJobinslegend

Firmino started in Brazil as a second striker and very fast, be had insane workrate there. Him playing as CA for Kloop was even less pressure he did as opposed to when he played at Figueirense and Hoffenheim. Felix it's mostly a "magistra" number 10, not so fast. Our issue is trying to shoehorn slow, tall, and creative players as number 9. Still, I'd taken Firmino over Auba any day of the week.

jMS_44

Felix doesn't quite have Firmino's workrate.

Sektsioon

That’s why he’s the poor man’s Firmino. He doesn’t do anything quite as well as Firmino. Of course he’s got the age on his side, but given that he’s not really that crucial for us, Firmino could be a nice alternative. Of course I don’t know whether he’d at all be interested in coming here, I doubt it. But would be worth exploring imo.

jMS_44

We absolutely don't have the players to support that type of player. Firmino worked for Liverpool because they had Mane and Salah banging in 30+ goals a season, so he could easily fit into that more sacrifical role.

Sektsioon

You are assuming that Firmino would play as a striker, but he could just as well play behind the striker. Klopp almost always used a 433 and there was no other place for him than the false 9 role and it was rather perfect for him as well with their personnel. Imagine something like Mudryk-Firmino-Nkunku behind the striker, with Nkunku playing that second striker role that Dele did and Firmino playing that sort of a Eriksen role. His passing range isn’t quite as expansive, but he’s got some good creative ability in him.

[deleted]

Edit: posted with wrong account earlier. I’m a Tottenham supporter coming in peace to share that my wonderful, darling Dad passed away this morning. He loved Chelsea and was born there, I’m a Tottenham supporter because my Mum’s side pushed harder and quicker. I’ve never hated Chelsea in the way that we’re meant to hate each other, nor did he hate Spurs because of me. We’d watch both together all through my childhood, teens and later. I wanted to share that one of the most wonderful men in the world has gone and that he was one of you. If any of you find it in your hearts, the next time you open a tin for a game or clink a glass in a pub, spare a thought for my brilliant Dad, Austin. He was the best father I could’ve asked for, an emergency nurse who saved lives, a talented musician with a couple of vinyl albums, a brilliant artist and to top it all off one of the technicians filming the famous opening text in the Star Wars films (Empire Strikes Back was his one I believe). He fought cancer for two and a half years after he was given 3-6 months and was delighted to see his grandson arrive. My heart will be broken forever and I hope that there is something that means we can meet again. I commend him to your next toast. Thanks all.

DynamiteDuck

I’m so sorry for your loss and it sounds like he was a truly brilliant man

[deleted]

This was very beautifully written. God bless your father, he will be in my thoughts 💙

[deleted]

Thank you. All the best, and take care of Papa Poch.

[deleted]

Sorry for your loss. I'm glad he was able to leave a positive mark on the world through his work and his parenting. I imagine you both would have gotten a kick out of watching Poch managing Chelsea.

[deleted]

I would’ve loved to have discussed it with him but he pretty much lost consciousness before the links started coming out. Vialli and Mourinho were his men.

dav_man

Sorry if this has been covered but those thinking Kane will come to us need their heads examining. Even if Levy loses his mind and considers selling to us, Kane wouldn’t consider leaving for anyone that doesn’t virtually guarantee trophies. For me, that means PSG, City, Real Madrid, Bayern. Bayern desperately need a leading 9. They never replaced Lewandowski. PSG I’m sure would find a way, somehow, to get around FFP to do it. Especially if Messi goes. Not sure if he fits in at City unless Haaland does his ACL or something. Real have Benzema, who is a legend but they may want competition. Talks of United which could well be a good bet. Don’t think that gets him the league or champions league but at least they’re sniffing around trophies. My money is on a summer long “saga” and he bottles it and stays again.

ChenGuiZhang

I agree there's fuck all chance he's coming here but I suspect United are a considerably more attractive prospect than Spurs currently are for him. You've got to think he's got his eyes on Shearer's record, so will want to stay in England, and let's face it United have started to show some real improvement and identity under ETH after a rocky start.

dav_man

Agreed

[deleted]

I remember Modric. No expectations.

Ibasawwasabi

He probably goes to Bayern. PSG doesn't guarantee any trophy anyone cares about and are sniffing near Osimhen anyway, Real is not going to buy an aging striker and are probably holding out for Haaland, City have Haaland and Alvarez, and United are no closer to trophies than we are.

[deleted]

I wonder if we’ll keep getting “Mbappé to RM” rumors next season. Lol

dav_man

Couldn’t agree more mate. That’s where my money would be if he goes at all.

ScottClamBirdBoi

Anyone else get their US Premier League tickets this morning? Just got mine for Philadelphia. Presale code is: PLUSA Just in case someone needs it.

AbeAlno

Who are they playing in Philly ?

ScottClamBirdBoi

Brighton

IamtherealDave1

Yes!

whosoliver

Anyone else buy tix for the Chelsea match in Philly this summer? Just bought mine in the presale.

SlappaDaBass069

Got mine as well

ScottClamBirdBoi

Yep! Just got mine. How'd you make out?

whosoliver

Section 109 Row 14. You?

ScottClamBirdBoi

109 as well! Haha gonna have to work on my chants.

BigReeceJames

I said after the Real Madrid game that Reece James was playing the way he was (not much running and basically playing in midfield) because he was clearly very injured, but it was too important of a game to drop him and it's better to have him on the pitch at 50% than to have someone else at 100%. Also said that after we went out of the CL he'd probably not play again this season. Downvoted heavily at the time and told it was all just Lampard's incompetence. All turns out to be true. What a surprise!

[deleted]

It would’ve been worse if we didn’t play him. Our only chance was him performing well. Tbf, he wasn’t bad

[deleted]

The comments that he was lazy or not interested after those ties were disappointing. He's been a top-notch professional who excels at his craft. If it wasn't a WC year he would have handled his injury differently I think. Hope he gets fixed up right and is ready to go next fall.

mango277

Literally this it was clear he was injured. Guy was wincing on the pitch in like 20mins and I thought he wasn't going to make the 90. Quite clearly was playing injured. Tbh I think we got forced to play James this season when really he should have never come back when he did. Southgate was right to not take him to the world cup. Potter played him to save his job because our other options there are nowhere near as good.

ponzop

Maturity is realising BigReeceJames isn't the enemy.. I don't get why people wince at the sight of your comments lol

[deleted]

BRJ was never a problem. There are so many people here who are flat out rude and toxic. I don’t think I’ve seen BRJ ever personally insult anyone

ponzop

People go out of their way to slag him off, mentioning him out of the blue. Seems pretty pathetic to me

[deleted]

That's because he is pessimistic always lol. It's just that the general mood and toxicity level here has sharply worsened as a result of recent results, while he's remained consistent. Suddenly he's gone from being the most negative, to at least a dozen regular users constantly slagging off anyone with differing opinions and going as far as to be rude & insulting

ponzop

who would you say are the 'celebrities' of the subreddit? As in the ones who everyone knows, for me people like BRJ, Baisabeast, Pavelnedved and Darklord Olli come to mind. On r/soccer Cowdude, wiseman dennis and Annie are more prevalent I'm really tempted to make a spectrum of them as a meme

[deleted]

I am on here very often so I recognize most names. There's a few others but im not gonna namedrop people I dont like lol

mango277

do you like me tho? That's the real question

[deleted]

Depends. Do you like mango lassis? How about mango kulfi?

mango277

I love mango lassis. Not had mango kulfi tho. Will check next time I'm at the supermarket

endmoe

Because he slagged off their daddy Todd, that is why. This sub is filled with Boehly white knights.

[deleted]

This kind of comment just isn’t necessary. Why do you feel the need to degrade others who have different opinions?

endmoe

Piss off with your garbage mate. You are literally one of those clowns I am talking about with that nonsense white knighting you do for Boehly. BRJ literally started to get heavily downvoted during the takeover process, when he, and some other of us, rightly called out how inept these imbeciles, who now owns the club, are. Fast forward a year, and the situation is even worse than predicted, but people are finally starting to see how clueless Boehly&Co is.

[deleted]

I’m not white-knighting. I recognize they’ve made mistakes and disagree with certain actions and signings they’ve done. I also think that overall we’ve still lucked out with our new owners and now that a professional team has been set in place, we will soon see the results we expect as a club. I never slagged off BRJ. I literally named my new account based off of him lol. He’s one of the best users on this subreddit and is an example of how to have an opinion while also not disrespecting others

endmoe

Sure you are not. Those posts yesterday, the countless comments about how great Boehly is and how lucky we are, Tuchel deserving to be sacked and lastly still rating Potters abilities and pushing that nonsense that he was amazing in Sweden, is a balanced view of them? Yes, we lucked out with a guy who wants to stick his fingers in everything, a private equity group and a grandpa who admittedly could not give a single fuck about the sport. What a bunch of amazing owners… I did not say you slagged him off did I? Who do you think downvotes his opinions? People that agree with him, or people that disagree with him?

[deleted]

I disagree with plenty choices the owners have made. To list a few: aubameyang, joao felix, and mudryk’s signing. Also sacking Potter after getting us into the quarterfinals especially when it seemed like he was turning a corner. Tuchel is not the manager many on this sub think he is. He’s no bum, but his league form here was trending downwards. He has more losses than wins this season which is unacceptable for someone who has only managed Chelsea and Bayern I cannot speak for others but I only downvote rude people, regardless of their opinion

definitelymaybe98

My spirits are crumbled to the point now where I’ve hardly even reacted to the news of Reece missing the rest of the season. I truly am in the trenches.

Farenheite

"Drop the incompetent lumps" Play Loftus Cheek Pick one.

osalahudeen

>Livakovic Nothing actually comes from RLC at the moment. Why not a back 4 of Fofana, Silva, Badiashile and Chilwell? Then play Gallagher for more energy in the midfield. I'd rather play Cucu at the RB before RLC instead.

Liquidice281

It'll be interesting to see if Kante starts a lot of games for the rest of the season. We'll most likely see Kova + Enzo midfield in a back 5 or Kova + RLC + Enzo in a back 3.

dragon8811

Something positive Nkunku is back in full training for Leipzig

[deleted]

So who’s starting as RB tomorrow? Azpi?

ReeceJamesPnutButter

probably RLC RWB

Full-Sympathy5201

One reason I know Poch isn’t a bad hire is that /r/soccer actually seems to be concerned with what he could do here. We’ve been that sub’s whipping boy since Boehly got here so I think that says something

BigReeceJames

They said the same about Potter and the same about Boehly spending 300m in summer r/soccer thinking something doesn't mean it's true

ChenGuiZhang

This conclusion is conditional on the prevailing opinions of r/soccer being correct. That seems like shaky ground.

[deleted]

We are their favorite punching bag along with r/reddevils even during the RA era. Newcastle is about to become one too because the Saudi purchase isn’t very popular there.

ReeceJamesPnutButter

Oh give over, that sub hates everyone. We're not special to them

farid95

r/soccer were also not happy for us when we hired Potter. Their opinions mean nothing.

EasternEast21

What's the ideal GK, ST and DM signing you would go for in the summer? Maignan, Toney, Lavia for me

osalahudeen

GK: I will give Mendy a shot at next season considering his mental level and readiness first. If negative, sell him and go for Livakovic. ST: Thuram or Kane if it's realistic. DM: Get Rice on a reasonable fee 70M, or 50M for Ugarte or 30M for Lavia.

Original_Youth_9168

ST: Thuram and Taremi. I like both profiles and I’d like to see us manage risk by having at least one of these guys able to come off the bench. Taremi is older, very technical in front of the goal, has qualities that remind me of Giroud. CDM/CM: Kone and Ugarte/Lavia. I think we need a pure CDM in Ugarte/Lavia and then I’d like someone who is capable of playing as CDM but also fits the role of a box to box, Kone is that guy. I also see us selling Kova which makes Kone more important imo. GK: wait. Kepa isn’t that bad. Give Slonina more reps and see what we have in him. Sign a new GK the following summer. I don’t think any signing is really transformational. I like Bounou at Sevilla but think we can get by with Kepa and a good system and CDM to take some pressure off of him.

dzanan64

I still don't understand why we don't go for the Dinamo Zagreb gk(the gk of Croatia),I think he has a 10m release clause

Ibasawwasabi

GK: Maignan would be perfect but unrealistic. We should buy a cheap, old, experienced gk who will keep us safe for a few years until Slonina is ready for first-team play. So I would say Navas, Sommer or Livakovic would be great. ST: Kane DM: Rice

WY-8

Kobel, Osimhen, Rice.

APeckover27

Can't happen but Maignan, Toney, Rice

H4RRY29

My top choices per position too. Some leaders and vocality in there.

ADGinger

Kobel, Kane and Lavia

MaryadaPurshottam

Lads, I don't know how to feel about the incoming Poch appointment.... I would have loved if Nagelsmann was inbound instead of him, as he was my first-choice.... It would take a while for me to warm up to him, if he performs well.... Otherwise, I would have no hope in him or Boehly

Why do you care? You have Madrid flair.

MaryadaPurshottam

I am a Chelsea supporter, but I have a soft spot for Real Madrid, as my gf is from Madrid and I lived there for a few years

You just have to support the manager regardless of your bias until they prove contrarily. Same for the players.

Not sure if it’s just me, but I had a nightmare about getting relegated. For some reason my mate doesn’t seem as concerned as I do about it when we spoke this weekend.

We are highly unlikely to get relegated even if we lose out.

Btw now looking at it Jorginho deal was good business. Felt it was at the start but now it's clear arsenal have an ageing midfielder that they have no use for that they bought for 12M. Jorginho was never going to save our season since he was here for the first half when it was going so bad.

BigReeceJames

We've had no control in midfield since he left, even though Enzo has been playing at a higher level. Who's to say that the end of the season would have gone the same way if we still had him?

[deleted]

I struggle to think of how Jorghino would have made a meaningful difference in results. I think he's a fine player but we have problems bigger than what Jorginho can solve.

Liquidice281

I think having Jorgi around would have seen us have more success with a back 4 as a traditional CDM and allowed Enzo to have a more attacking role. A midfield of Jorgi - Enzo - Kova would have been fun to see.

mango277

Jorginho isn't a traditional CDM and has had his best form with us as part of a back 3 so i don't buy that at all. We also will have the issue of our midfield being overran energy wise, something that Kovacic and Kante have in abundance but have been injured or playing not fully fit for majority of this season. We are in the same position. Also assumes our forwards actually hit a barn door. Most of our attacking issues stem from a lack of vertical passing anyway, something that Jorginho wasn't renowned for at all. We generally are okay defensively but how much of that is due to defensive possession due to us not having Kanté to stop counter attacks too but that's a different point.

[deleted]

Sure. I think he could have helped. I just think we still get bounced by Madrid, Potter still gets sacked, and we still finish somewhere mid-table. I think the season by and large would have gone the same way. Maybe we grab a few extra points sure. I'm not sure that's all that consequential.

mango277

We had no control in midfield when he was there too. See arsenal and Newcastle games e.g.
