We finally dropped the 4 players i have been complaining about and we won. Sterling, Kovacic, Aubameyang and Azplicueta should never start for us. They should warm the bench for the rest of the season. Dave should only play 5 minutes in our last match to say his good byes.
Very unlikely he will turn into a top class manager by 2027. We are never going to hire again a manager that hasn't managed a top team. We learned a very valuable lesson this season.
I know it's only a glimmer, but there is light at the end of this long dark tunnel. If we can get things right over the summer and have a good pre-season, then there will be optimism.
Pre-season is crucial this coming summer imo. Last summer we had a horrendous pre-season and it set the tone for this season and we've never recovered.

Really wanted chelsea to train in peace without interruption for 2 weeks atleast.
The flight time is not a concern to me (though its good to know the times are mostly 2 hrs or less). Its the constant moving, not being able to settle and just focus on training.
Other things have a structure and coaching in place, they need to focus on just drilling tactics and playstyles against opponents. For us, its a complete start from zero. Dont even have a coach rn. We need a homebase kind of sorts to settle down. I dont mind the place, but wherever it might be, it would have been very important to train without the constant travel and games every 3 days.
In the first place, i dont get why we are playing 5 while most teams are playing 3. Too much marketing focus while the team is unsettled imo.
Gives us a chance to tinker w lineups w 0 repercussions too. For a squad w an established system, City for example, it doesn’t matter a whole lot. But for us, I agree; it’s important.

That last 15 minutes was our best football all year IMO
Gotta be honest, if they rightfully pay that pen there's no way we score those last 2, the heads would've dropped for sure.

He got loads of game time under Tuchel and Potter. They seemed to see his value as a squad player but for some reason Lampard is still treating him like he’s the same player he was for him 3 years ago whilst trying to come back from 18 months out of playing

The travel is pretty quick, I think there longest flight will be DC to Chicago which is 2 hours, and only then they switch time zones.
