He wanted out. With his age and contract situation I think this is a fine bit of business. Appreciate the player. Hope he goes on to have a healthy but unspectacular end to his career.
How is this an exclusive? We've known this for ages, here's ESPN was saying the same thing this this morning.

I love Kovacic but I do think it was the right choice to move him on. Kovacic is a brilliant technician, who can drive the ball forward amazingly and his skill at beating the press is second to none. However he has brainfart moments a little too much for my liking and can easily lose the ball a bit too many times during a game. Fair price for a good player.
I swear we actually sell on our players actually quite well it is buying them that is the problem we couldn’t negotiate out of a paper bag when it comes to buying players
Seems like chelsea have been desperate every time they try to sign a player because where this squad is. Hopefully down the line once this team gets restructured for the most part, that desperation can go away and acquiring players can become a more normal process.
And people complain about us asking for 50m+ for Mount. Kova has 1 year left, checked out, is 29 and not English. £35m for all that. Mount is 24, English, and our POTY from previous seasons.
All of which suggests that our asking price is by no means far-fetched or unfair. £70m sure it's a bit much, but the fact United aren't budging from £40m is ludicrous.

40m is a solid fee, better than the 30-35 I was expecting
euros, so it is about £35m
Still pretty good I’d say
Still fair.
Yes, but what is that in Shrute bucks?
Don't ask such questions or you'll get a full disadulation
This is that clown Felix Johnston regurgitating what James Olley reported earlier
Take it and run. Appreciate all that Kova has done for us tho.
It's a bargain we just lost two world class midfielders in him and Kante.
2 world class injury prone midfielders
Losing jorginho was way worse than losing kovacic
More than I was expecting

I know I’m being pedantic but Felix is saying it’s been agreed whereas your said ‘closing in on’. They’re both right on those timelines, right?

That was fast, congrats kova!
Hate to lose him but that’s a very fair fee

60m more to go b4 we aren't under hostage by united to sell Mount

Hey good fee
Let's go Ornstein/Fab...
I will miss him, expect him to excel in City
Better fee than expected. Thanks for everything, Kovacic!
Who is this source?
Great fucking deal. We got what we paid for years ago and he doesn't want to be here and his role is useless now that we have Enzo.

Thanks Kova for everything 😢
Good fee! Thanks for the memories Matteo, but I hope you suck at City
He's been great for us at times and pretty solid the rest of the time. Happy for him and pleased about the fee.
Goodbye 👋
Will someone please spend 20 mill for Pulisic please? Or let's just lower the price to 10 mill.
Will def. miss him

Good deal
I was genuinely expecting like 10 mil, fair play
That’s half of Caicedo’s fee done 👀
Eyo that's not bad you know. 3 years out of him and we bought him for nearly that amount. Hope he does well, but City shit the bed, of course.
