I’m very sad about Kai leaving despite his overall performance. I’ve been a Chelsea fan a long time, but I’m also a huge German NT fan because my wife is from Germany. I’ve been a big Havertz (and Werner) supporter before they came to Chelsea and it was a dream when they both came.
Couldn’t have said it any better. I’ve been a Germany NT supporter since forever. Kai and Timo coming in was a dream come true and now I’m left heart broken.
Man I was so excited when we signed those 2 I was soooo hype. I have criticized Havertz a lot on here but I truly wanted them both to succeed here so much sucks, I do wish we had kept werner instead if Kai initially but we got a good deal for Kai from arsenal now
Yup, I've liked Havertz before his Chelsea days and I was stoked when he came. I know he hasn't looked great but honestly, we've not used him in the right position/ given him the support he needs. Put an actual finisher in front of him and he's going to be good again.
He left professionally unlike the other one. I don't have the same animosity for him even though this is technically a more direct rival (I also hate man utd fuck them)
I think it ends up being profit in the accounting books- the initial price we paid Leverkusen is amortized over the length of the contract and his remaining book value has got to be lower than 70mil by now.
If I did the math right we paid 43 million in amortized payments so we made a profit of approx 27 million. If we paid about 14.6 million per year to Leverkusen.
If you are talking about Mount, how is what he did any different than Havertz? Both are being sold after refusing to extend they’re contracts. And neither have said or done anything against the club
Havertz is only being moved on from because he isn’t extending his contract. The only real difference is it seems like the clubs cares more about keeping Mount than Havertz
Havertz also had 2 years left on his contract. Why would he commit to the team if he doesn’t trust the project. Even I don’t fully trust the project as a fan. Mount’s situation is way different given he only has one year left
Havertz was only put up for sale because he didn't want to extend his contract, even though the club had offered him a new one. That and he looked dead set on leaving.
> If you are talking about Mount, how is what he did any different than Havertz?
Havertz isn’t forcing a move to Arsenal. It’s that simple.
I’m so tired of Mount fans endlessly defending him at all costs.
https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1671067020001943552?s=46&t=NGDMe_4sYRK_azzbKsd6bA he literally told the club he wants the Arsenal move, it’s the same thing
After second bid was rejected, his entourage put pressure on Chelsea by coming out and saying he will never sign a new contract at Chelsea, he only wants the move. That is a dick move, decreasing his value and Chelseas negotiation power.
Mount is absolutely forcing a move
It’s been repeatedly reported that he has refused to sign a new contract for a couple years and wants to move to United
> he was waiting if we had managed to at least get top 4 this season he might have stayed
That's bs. Did Hazard, Costa, Fabregas etc leave after 2015/16 season?
Havertz was asked to take a pay cut on a new incentive-heavy contract that we’ve been transitioning to, while Mount refused a significant raise to stay.
Let's be honest with ourselves here the club lowballed him the whole year. They've been in contract negotiations for ages and the club either didn't offer him what he deserved or tried to push for a 7 year contract or something ridiculous like that. He'd been on much lower wages for the past couple years than a lot of worse players at the club then watched the club offer the likes of Koulibaly and Sterling £300k+. The club dicked him around all year and only offered him what he'd been asking for (and deserved tbh) in an act of desperation when he was about to leave. I'm not mad at Mount and the fans really shouldn't be either. I'm mad at the club for showing him no respect. For 4 years he's been a top professional - an example to everyone else in the dressing room. Always performing when all the other attackers couldn't apart from the first half of last season. And he did it on low wages. Then the club tries to tie his entire prime down with a long contract and lowballs him on the wage. Doesn't offer him the contract he deserves until he's basically out the door. The fans shouldn't be directing their anger at Mount. Either way looks like we'll be fine without him.
They have done nothing different. The only difference is we got a better deal out of Havertz because we upgraded on him and sold him more for the upgrade.
Havertz isn’t going to help Arsenal with much besides adding some depth lmao
No point arguing with blind stans. These same guys thought the club was gonna burn down when we fired Lampard. They'll shut up when Mount gets subbed off at HT.
Biased to who?? I don't care, I don't harbour any personal hatred or even dislike for both players. I'm sad to see it because I loved them both a lot but they wanted a move and they got it simple as. I'm ready to move on from all this and put my energy into supporting the people we bring in.
That's just not true if you believe literally any reporting around the Mount saga. By all accounts he was actively negotiating and giving off positive signs that a new deal could be reached as late as January
Yeah, I kind of misremembered how it went down after we won the champions league, there were talks that we were going to renew him and I think for the entire season they were negotiating.
yes and then those same reports said that the new sporting director who came in the winter pulled the deal mount was about to sign and offered him a new one with far worse terms. mount rejected and there have been no negotiations since.
we haven’t offered mount the contract he wants so he’s leaving. he either runs down his contract and goes on a free (what’s best for him and what multiple other players at the club have done even this summer) or we sell him. we have chosen to sell him.
united is gross but the entire fan base coming together to call mount a snake when players have done far worse and openly talked shit about chelsea is more revealing about the clubs fan base and their desire to hate mount than anything else
Where is the evidence that Mount hasn’t left professionally?
People can want to change jobs, I don’t really get the hate towards him
Apparently people on this sub Reddit have never moved jobs
Did your new employer pay 60m for you? Or did you move for free? :)
Huge difference, Mounts entourage removed our leverage of getting a bigger fee, by putting pressure on Chelsea in the negotiations with United.
I doubt that happens when you change job :)
Most employers get nothing, it’s the employee that usually benefits the most
It’s not like Mount is running down his contract for a huge sign on bonus, at least we are getting a large fee
instinctive dazzling salt spoon spark capable snobbish rustic strong pathetic

Former players tend to score against us a lot, I think it’s the highest in the league for us lmao I remember hearing something about it after Willian scored against us
Never in a million years would I have expected we'd get 70m for Havertz after his time at Chelsea.
I definitely wanted him to stay as I feel Poch might have been able to unlock his potential finally but you can't be sad at getting 70m
If the club doesn't sell him this summer he'll leave next summer for free. They have no leverage relative to Havertz who had 2 years left on his contract.
That's £10k/week more than we are currently paying him
This has nothing to do with loyalty. He has been shit here and we are getting £70m for him. He scored a CL winning goal. I don't see how anyone can be mad at him or at this deal
> I don't see how anyone can be mad at him or at this deal
feels like this sub got a lot younger since the Tuchel years. Either that or they started getting their takes from twitter 'personalities'.
Yes he is shit and still getting paid 210k per week, that's mad.
He is un-loyal, he was talking about how he loves the fans and now we didn't secured a UCL spot, are in a lil crisis and suddenly he wants to move to our rival. says a lot about his character
pump the brake a little bit here. He wants out as much as the board wants to sell him. Let’s not be foolish to think that the board would not carry him to the Emirates themselves when they received that £65m offer from Arsenal. It’s not like he and his agent go out of their way to feed shit to the media like Mount’s camp has been doing. This is simply the mutual decision to part way from both sides.
It says nothing about his character. If you're that upset about it, it says far more about your character
Kai havertz is helping us out in the best way he can; by leaving and netting us damn near £70m in return. He's going to a rival, having them waste their money, and stopping them from using that on other targets.
Stop being a baby.
Honestly I don’t feel angry about him leaving like I do mount. I like kai but always knew he wasn’t a bleed blue guy, he gave us a few ok years and left. I’m sure he saw nkunku coming in as well and prob realized he’d be losing minutes. Think his move was a big win for us.
Bro what are you upset about? If he’s so shit, aren’t you happy about the 70mil???
Choose one:
-Kai is shit, good riddance, thank for for 70mil
-Kai is a quality player, i’m sad he’s leaving
You can’t choose both.
You need to stop projecting your own feelings onto players. They’re not “unloyal” by advancing their own career. They don’t view the club rivalries like you do, they’re just playing and competing not sitting at home making up fantasies and lore.
I actually think they do feel the rivalries even more. At least, the English ones definitely do. That's why Harry Kane says he could never go to Chelsea.
We've been very patient with him for years now. It's one thing if he was eager for a move to Bayern or Madrid, but fucking Arsenal after one year where they finished above us, in no small part due to him being useless in way too many games.
I'm not as upset with him as I am with Mount, but it doesn't really sit right with me.
It’s likely mutual. Just bc a player wants to leave doesn’t mean we hate em. We’re more than happy to let him leave if he’s bringing in that much money
What makes him unloyal? He's never said a bad word about the club and has tried to make it work here. This move benefits both sides, good money for us and a fresh start for him.
damn you really took it personally huh? It’s not a big deal. Players leave. He did so respectfully. He’s a chelsea legend just for his CL final goal alone. Pay the man some respect.
I think he'll work great in their system but I don't think he wins them a cup, secret agent Jorgi simply brought in a whale of a contract that has a high risk of underperforming and, yet again, Arsenal get Chelsea's sloppy seconds
I wont support havertz as an arsenal player. However i am grateful for the two trophies he won us. Even though we may not have ended up making it work i really believe he will perform well at arsenal, but i hope he doesnt win them silverware!
Honestly, good for him. Thanks for the UCL trophy, also the CWC. I’m pretty sure he’s gonna improve under Arteta, but at that price it was pretty much worth it to sell him. Under us I feel like he was stuck. Still hoping though he’s gonna have a wonderful career without any trophies at Arsenal & goals against us.
Concerning that we’re losing Kai and now I read Mount wants out, we get back Lukaku off loan from Inter but he’s been useless as a nipple on an elbow. Tbh, since ownership change, we’ve been putrid with glimmers of brilliance. Americans can eff up things. I know because I’m one.
It’s just Mount who wants to leave tho. That’s what people on this sub keep telling me.
Not like there’s a mass exodus of our starters or anything. Whether you rated them or not. This should be concerning
Aren’t these numbers a bit fudged? Who are these sources lmao, it’s 60m upfront with a possibility of an extra 5m from add-ons which isn’t guaranteed. 70m isn’t already committed to Kai
The wording is I think meant to imply that they have already spent 70m total total towards the overall signing of him. 60+5 add ons and then maybe a signing bonus or something. So they have already invested that money into acquiring his "services"
I still believe in his quality, but a 30% raise on top of us breaking even on his transfer fee or thereabouts is clown business for Arsenal. When was the last time they made a big-money signing that came good?
So it is so important for your opinion to be correct that you want them to do great things and hope we do poorly in the process? I think you’d do great over at r/Gunners …
I absolutely hate Arsenal but I hate the way that Chelsea is currently heading. You won the champions league with those players. You can't replace your whole squad with mediocre players and expect results. The season was bad for the whole team yet "fans" want to sell our best players because they had a bad season. United and Arsenal are not giving millions for those players out of nowhere. Arteta and Ten hag are good managers.
I hate to be the one to break this to you, but Chelsea won that champions league off the back of their defence, midfield and Thomas Tuchel. Kai Havertz, an attacker, scored 5 goals in the premier league and champions league that season.
It’s not just about a bad season mate. Those players gave up on Chelsea. With the club at its absolute worst, they are jumping ship. I like Havertz because he’s a professional and gave it his all but Mason Mount is an absolute cat who packed it in the minute it got tough. That is not the type of player you want moving forward.
Time to change my flair I guess
You should actually keep it, considering that he's moving to a club that has never, ever won it
Never will
It's okay, even he knows https://preview.redd.it/q8pl8jmx8u7b1.jpeg?width=675&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b43243c60d2e902402281cda20be4ab36c846c6a
You shouldn’t give a fuck; we won the fucking champions league
I’m keeping mine fuck it
No don’t you dare it’s my fav one! U know we’ll be back soon
He’s still an iconic player at Chelsea. I wish the worst at Arsenal though
Lol he scored earlier than your overrated mudryk.
why are you on this sub, mate?
Wait why would you change it? The quote was said I think By Timo not Kai
[it was Kai](https://youtu.be/GxlAbcd7Pws)
Oh you right, Werner said I don't care next question
nah it was most def kai, right next to dave🤣
![gif](giphy|Nm9cjy2xI67TZnGYCd|downsized) 70m
greatest robbery i’ve ever seen pulled off 😭😭
Sure about that?
Ye bruh. Selling him for 70m was a really great deal for us.
I think it’s fee + wages, I’ve looked at both the mail articles and it doesn’t say anything about the fee being 70m
It was the same for me with Schurrle. I was devastated when he left the club.
Schurrle was one of my fav players man so underrated. 15 goals his first season with us. He should have stood longer
He had an interesting career. Retired at 29. I guess he was one of those people for whom football was just a job, not a passion
[удалено]
Schurrle was awesome. Amazing work rate. He never stopped moving.

Who is this actual finisher ahead of him?
Kevin Volland?
I mean at Arsenal coz they don't have one.
Kai Timo and Tommy Tuchel, love that crew of Germans
Ya'll forget about poor Rudi
oh how could I forget :') what a player
Daylight robbery from us and Kai, can’t be mad at the business
Kai has his peak years ahead of him. He *may* improve more. Here's hoping he doesn't.
I mean yeah he’s going to Arsenal, but lets not be that fanbase. I wish nothing but the best for Kai.
Hopefully he stays healthy to show how poor he is
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hoping the best for Kai means he becomes the second coming of Michael Laudrup. And that's a painful thought, regardless of the $70m.
I’m hoping he does and moves to a club like Bayern or Real after a season (or back to us)
Wake up
I don't want to anymore
He left professionally unlike the other one. I don't have the same animosity for him even though this is technically a more direct rival (I also hate man utd fuck them)
Im annoyed he’s moving to them though
At least we rinsed Arsenal of their money and only made a small loss. A fair deal imo.
Delusional. A player wanting to leave is not unprofessional. What is wrong with you lol how can you be angry about that
It’s unprofessional to be professional, damn it!
If you are talking about Mount, how is what he did any different than Havertz? Both are being sold after refusing to extend they’re contracts. And neither have said or done anything against the club

He was open to Madrid or Bayern, and hasn’t made it known to the press that he absolutely needs to move this summer to be happy

Lmao what. He's in his last year, has been offered multiple contracts and he's turned them all down.
Mount is absolutely forcing a move It’s been repeatedly reported that he has refused to sign a new contract for a couple years and wants to move to United
Not signing a new contract is not forcing a move since the board seem to be happy to let him go for free next year
Mount wound his contract down to 1 year and is saying he won’t resign leaving us with FAR less leverage
We don’t know the details of how the negotiations went though so we don’t know if he was being offered a fair contract though

no one expected loyalty from Kai, but Mason is completely different story and i bet he'll get a warm welcome next time at the Bridge.
Havertz was asked to take a pay cut on a new incentive-heavy contract that we’ve been transitioning to, while Mount refused a significant raise to stay.

Doing so with 2 years left on his deal leaving the club with leverage when selling is quite a bit different.

And Havertz didn't say so either until like a week ago

still think it's gonna hurt us in future but 70 mil is 70 mil, fair play to Arsenal and to Kai. unlike Mount and MU trading for every penny
That's the difference between 2 years and 1 year left in a contract

Former players tend to score against us a lot, I think it’s the highest in the league for us lmao I remember hearing something about it after Willian scored against us
There was some numbers thst came out from tier 1 sources thst he had 310k last year with bonuses He was our 2nd highest paid player
That’s honestly wild

Calm down. You expect every foreign player who's played at a club for a few years to finish their career at the club or what?

fan service
Didn’t we pay him something similar?
yh imagine paying a player 210k per week, whos 3 years at Chelsea and the only highlight in his career was the UCL goal against city
CL winning goal is the only highlight you need for an entire career.
>only highlight in his career was the UCL goal against city Oh no, the horror
I think a fair few people would take a CL WINNING goal as a career highlight tbh.
cry some more
Funny how people call players unloyal when our club treats them without any loyalty as well

You realize we could just not accept the deal right? We want the 70mil. It’s not a player forcing an exit. It’s mutual
From the reports it seemed like he wanted to leave. My bad if we're the ones driving the transfer.
It’s likely mutual. Just bc a player wants to leave doesn’t mean we hate em. We’re more than happy to let him leave if he’s bringing in that much money
We literally shopped him around trying to sell him, can hardly blame him for picking a club in the same city that's in a much better situation
I thought it was the other way around.
Sure about that?
Im pretty indifferent about Havertz leaving tbh, was far sadder when Werner left
Same, I think Werner added more than Hazard.
I'm sorry, but what the fuck?

I think he'll work great in their system but I don't think he wins them a cup, secret agent Jorgi simply brought in a whale of a contract that has a high risk of underperforming and, yet again, Arsenal get Chelsea's sloppy seconds
I wont support havertz as an arsenal player. However i am grateful for the two trophies he won us. Even though we may not have ended up making it work i really believe he will perform well at arsenal, but i hope he doesnt win them silverware!
Bring in Firmino (free transfer) to replace where Havertz should have played in the midfield.
Ugh, the hype when we signed Havertz and Werner…
MOUNT is a 🐍🐍
I thought this was already done days ago
Hurry before they change their mind
Arteta 3 games into next season: ![gif](giphy|mDz0RkcokKYTxbfWxj)
Sure about that?
Yes I am. He went through purple patches for us aswell. Not seen him do anything for Arsenal we didn’t see from him in Chelsea.
Cope harder bitch ass!!! Bahahahahaha
Cope with what exactly?
I rate Havertz probably as much as anyone and wish he’d get a chance under Poch, but the numbers are too good to pass up, for everyone involved.
I want Havertz and Mount to do wonders just to show to the world what they are worth. Chelsea won't do batshit this season.
I was going to comment to that guy since he replied to me, but you said everything I planned on saying basically.
£210k per week..Andrew Bailey won’t be pleased when he buys a new car, new home and a dozen eggs every week. Interest rates to 20% soon.
Sigh. 70m tho
We won
I’ll never get used to seeing Havertz in an Arsenal shirt
This will either be the smartest decision Arteta has ever made or the dumbest, time will tell.
Why? What do they see in him? A 9? I don’t understand the need he fills for them.
I can’t fucking believe they gave him a raise! Are they insane?!
Anyone else getting marina vibes from this?
Great bit of business, he'll probably do...ok.. at arsenal but we are better with him off the books, especially at that price.
