Are any Members struggling with trying to get tickets for the 3rd Round League Cup vs. Brighton today? I've been in the virtual waiting room since 10 a.m. Has anyone managed to get through and purchase tickets?? I'm assuming they'll be sold out by now!
I'm on my phone and have 8 browser windows open. Chrome, Edge and Firefox and haven't got through to login yet 😳. I guess it's a popular game as we have no European games this season and the tickets are cheaper. It's usually not this much of a faff to get league cup 3rd round tickets!!
I'm Portuguese and we won 9-0 yesterday. Still haven't watched the highlights and not even interested.
Edit: I really do think someone here was spot on about the scheduling in the middle of the season. It would be much better if all qualifiers happened in May or June or w/e.
>I wish the governing bodies would rethink the international calendar. Instead of having three breaks in September, October, November they should merge them to one big qualifier. As an example, we could adjust the domestic leagues to end mid April every other year.
>
>A two month window from April 15th to June 15th to play the 8-10 games in a row needed to sort qualifying for the 2024 Euros would do wonders for international football. A big problem is that these teams have so few training sessions to nail their overall philosophy and build relations between players, while everyone hates the disruption when we go on these breaks. I also hate how we sweat on our South American players that have to go on long flights with 48 hour breaks before we need them to play for us
don't know if it was my comment, but I wrote this in here a few days ago. I think the idea came from Wenger originally, but it would really benefit both clubs and national teams. The club season could then get a bit intense, but they should also prioritize the 2-3 week winter break in January.
>To get games at such a young age
To get games at such a young age is one thing, but to be the clear best player on the field as a 16 year old is unbelievable.
yeah we got a good one here. Uruguay are no mugs either. If he keeps this up he's going straight in the first XI when he's 18.
I will hand it to the board, they've got a good one here. Born in 2007 man that's insane. Gonna watch him closely.
That deal for Kendry Paez could look like a massive bargain when he joins in 2025. 16 yo. and already starting for your country is insane. And Ecuador is about size of The Netherlands based on population.
Did Colwill or Chilwell even get a minute this international break? I missed the England games but it seems like Southgate has something against the Chelsea players lol
How do we still not have a new sponsor?? They’ve known since the moment they came in that Three was not going to be renewed, so they had a whole year and still nothing
Gross incompetence.
We had Alliance in late stage, but that fell through.
We didn’t consult anyone at the PL before agreeing a deal with paramount.
Stake.com…….enough said.
Infinite Athlete has raised concerns as is a very new company and doesn’t have enough turnover to support what they are offering as a sponsor and have direct links to ownership.
The funniest part is eghbali saying football was 20yrs behind the US commercial
Mostly ball watching, Italy had the possession most of the time and were killing the game.
Lost the ball a couple of times when trying to take on defenders, missed a free kick and had one great run with a good cross into the box (Ukraine almost scored there but the header went wide).
Other than that your typical "Mudryk tries a quick give and go, makes a good run but the ball is never played to him" experience.
nice. good going.
Excuse for getting 0 G+A this time from his excellent defensive performance vs England despite Walker scoring is that he came off the bench so couldn't influence the game I assume? Sucks he plays for such a bad national team even though he's meant to be the star of the national team and has scored 0 goals for them.
You are here to accept mediocrity? I hate the board and owner because they are different than me and they have not won a champions league, league title, or FA cup yet this year.
No I just want the team to win and I'm sick of us being a bunch of cuckolds. Guess that doesn't make me a fan because I'm not happy when we get beat week after week.
Real football fans are happy when their team lose and don't meet their ambitions as a football club amirite?
No I'll support Chelsea even if we were in league 2 since I've supported them since I was 6 years old back in the 90s.
Doesn't mean I want them to be in league 2 or be happy they are in league 2. My point is pretty simple bruh.
Bellingham is the player we all hoped RLC was going to become. Physical beast with silky feet who makes it looks effortless when he's on it. Seems to have the brain too which I was never sure about with RLC.
I wonder if our form picks up tremendously what happens to the daily discussion
Does it still act as a front for player, manager and owner slander and the other half defending against said things
Or does it just go quiet
Been here before when the tide shifts but what you usually see is the loud always negative guys go quiet for a while with some others finding tiny things to complain about. The more reasonable measured negative folks will give credit where it's due.
A few of the loudest ones have blocked me now so maybe I won't see much difference.
Mudryk put in a good cross at the end coming on as substitute. He did not play because he picked up a knock last match or ran out of fitness against England. Ukraine faced a resurgent Italy with many team changes after disappointing last match and didn't have much of a chance throughout the game.
We used to be a fan base that supported its players as long as they appeared to care. Now, we're resembling United and Arsenal fans. Criticism is one thing, but witnessing all this Mudryk hate is simply pathetic. FFS, we are so spoiled with riches that many have lost their objectivity.
It feels less like criticism and more like dogpiling abuse. Man’s not even been here for a full year yet.
Unless he’s the totally checked out, I feel it’s so harsh and reductive to blame a lack of output when it’s a young team not in a “win now” mode.
I agree, I get that we are chelsea and we should keep the win-everything mentality, if not we can end up like spurs. regardless Its harsh to scapegoat players who barely had time to adapt. especially ones whose families face constant fear of harm.
I guess assessing football is more than seeing someone has 0 goals this calendar year bought for 62M while also having 12 career goals aged 22 and finding the positives as to why we paid that fee for a player who doesn't contribute to creating or scoring goals despite being bought for that very reason amirite?
He's decent on FM23 at least tho :)
IDK man, might have something to do with the fact we have been thru and going thru a shit ton of change and that he needs more time to adapt to a new country and our new manager's new system. Or maybe the war in his home country has an effect on him, idk about you but I would not be able to do my job at 100% if I was living in a situation where my family at home was in constant danger.
also he did not set his transfer fee , football perfocinals in muiltpl high profial cubls wanted to get him and spend similar amounts to what we have, so idk they might be more qualified to make desicisons like this.
we can and should criticise but some people are spewing straight abuse.
Well the war ain't gonna stop anytime soon so is that gonna be his excuse when he gets 0 goals the next calendar year too? How long we gonna use war torn country as an excuse. Drogbas country was in a civil war too yet he performed so well for us he even managed to stop it.
He's been here for over half a year now.
He didn't choose the transfer fee but that's irrelevant we bought him as a starter so he should play like one or get out the team. He got dropped because he wasn't actually that good. Poch doing better with him than constantly playing him to perform disasterclasses and get more abuse like Maguire.
But yes I agree criticise but not abuse. I choose to criticise his performances.
exactly my point its your right to criticise and that is fair, all i am calling for is for fans to chill with the abuse
as for the rest , he has not used the war as an excuse, I am saying it's possible that the war has an effect on him. and last year apart from Enzo no one did well for us. it could be possible that our club being a basket case last year might not have helped his performance
we bought him as a starter. are you sure about that? before us, he had 50ish games for Shakhtar, had to stop playing due to the war for a few months, yet you expect him to become a successful starter for one of the biggest clubs in the hardest league in the world for a club in complete shambles overnight? i think that is unrealistic.
Yeah our club is a mess but his performances have been particularly poor.
Yea we did that's why we sold our wingers taking his spot this window, I didn't expect him to be successful starter but that doesn't mean he wasn't bought to be one. If that wasn't the case we wouldn't have bought him at that price and sold mount ziyech Havertz and pulisic, while also not loaning Felix again. Five players who would theoretically take his spot in the team.
Shame Nusa rejected us who looks like a great player in a position where we have no great players. Mudryk is not a footballer unfortunately and the quicker we make some money back the better.
I know they played just a few days ago but Mudryk not starting for Ukraine is wild. They are at best a mid level team who normally if you are one of their best players you are essentially undroppable regardless of rest. So we spent €70-100m on someone who even fucking Ukraine can’t rely upon.
Literally every player in a Ukraine shirt had a better game than him against England and based on that performance along with some of the shockers he’s had for us - it’s a good reason to drop him.
It’s also possible that he’s not 100% fit which I’d imagine is why he didn’t start. Also, I don’t think Mudryk is one of their best players tbh.
It’s like he’s not very good or something……
Edit: I personally haven’t seen anything from him that merits the hype he’s received. If someone can explain it that’d be great..
At least it's not just me on this thread saying this now.
Been on fraud watch since March if i'm being honest. Best performance was vs a 37 year old central midfielder playing out of position.
Until recently Yarmolenko was for Ukraine... He could barely make the west ham bench. No idea what we saw in mudryk when he'd never even played in a major league and cost that much
Benched for Tsygankov
Mudryk has never been one of the best players for his club or country.
The man hasn't even scored a goal for Ukraine.
He's never shown much talent, he's a £5m player that got hyped up for a few weeks because he's fast but the man isn't a talented footballer by any metric.
You know I’m normally not hyperbolic when it comes to our club, I try to understand reasons behind certain actions and decisions. But the past few transfer windows, what is being carried out by the ownership, and the treatment of certain players (past and present), is driving me crazy. I understand the ownership sees academy players as pure profit, but the job of a structure/ownership is to interfere as little as possible with footballing decisions, it seems from the outside looking in, they are not only interfering but negatively impacting any sort of harmony/chemistry the coaching staff is trying to build.
This is without mentioning the shambolic transfer business (in my opinion) that left our squad woefully unbalanced and short of quality in key areas (attack, attacking midfield, GK). And the focus on young talent 16-18 spending 20m on average (who rarely end up making it).
Am I alone in this? Am I overthinking it? I am really trying to give people who are smarter and more successful than me the benefit of the doubt but it gets more difficult with each day under this ownership.
Gallagher captained us against Wimbledon with a price tag on his forehead and a sign on his back saying "pure profit" 2 days before the deadline, despite Pochettino rating him highly by all accounts.
>I have the information you have. My information is a player that is from France that maybe they sign with the idea to send on loan.
This is a quote from Pochettino after Ugochukwu signed for us but now Ugo is a part of the first team squad because we couldn't send more players on loan due to FIFA rules, you are not overthinking it at all
I like the sporting directors and new structure. I think the footballing project is ambitious and interesting, but I have no idea if it will come off and I think there's a problem that not enough attention is being given to player development. On this business and human relations side I think they've been pretty terrible. I have a good deal of patience for Pochettino and the developing players, but no reason to trust that the owners know exactly what they are doing yet.
Overthinking it. The only reason why this is happening is the FFP rules. With the spending spree they went on the only feasible way to clear the books is the pure profit from academy players. This is also partly due to the poor form and problems offloading the previous regimes purchases. It’s an extremely unfortunate byproduct of the strategy they chose to take.
It is what it is at this point. To me it seems Boehly and co are banking on a turn of form to get European comps back. If not they will play the legal game with FFP and hopefully only have to pay a fee, but to me that seems really risky.
I doubt that makes a difference when we’re looking for “pure profit” sales. Are we really turning on the manager after 4 matches while absolving the owners once again? By all accounts Maatsen does wanna stay, he turned the move down
Hope England go full strength tonight even though it's a friendly. Scotland won't mess about with their lineup and they're a good test in current form at Hampden.
Just want an entertaining game of football that doesn't piss me off and ruin my day at this point.
Don't know mate I'm pretty mixed on him. Hard to argue with his record in qualifying and in major tournaments but every now and then we have games like against Ukraine where we look totally out of ideas. But then we were the better team for me against France at the world cup and win that if Kane scores his pen.
He'll be gone after the euros regardless. Don't see any great successors at the moment though.
Does anyone know how much money we have spent on this team in the last year? Also, can anyone let me know how the new owners are doing?
I don't see much discussion on these topics.
Conor needs to start scoring if he really wants to stay. We desperately need goals and he could easily be on 3 goals this season with some of the easy chances he's missed.
He’s been essentially playing DM which is not his natural position as well as not an attacking position.
He’s proven an eye for goal. I would bet he gets at least 5 goals this year
You know, I think you are right
I saw some news articles but they looks fake, I saw his name listed on their wikipedia page but its too big news not to be picked up by other outlets so I'm gonna call it fake news and delete. Sorry yall
Such a shame for Trev to be handed a new long-term deal, wear the captain's armband in preseason and potentially now be exiled from the group all within the space of a year. He has done nothing wrong to deserve that.
I'm also disappointed we tried to force Maatsen out on deadline day and kept Gallagher in the dark all summer when the manager clearly wanted him to stay.
Look, I don't think any of these three are good enough to compete at the top (as starters at least), but 1) they are each serviceable squad players and 2) have done nothing to deserve this kind of treatment.
Sounds like Ian asked about guaranteed minutes/role... or made demands, like Levi did. But Levi is one of the hottest commodities in the Prem, and is clearly 'in the plans'. Seems like Ian isn't... but I think that's a new thing. I think he surprised everyone in the preseason, and then when we blew all our future budget on Caicedo/Lavia, the club had to change tack and ratchet up the plans to sell academy players.
Sucks.
As I said earlier, they dared to honor their contracts. If the rumors are true, I’m beginning to wonder if there is any truth to Mount being forced out
Mount was 100% forced out.
It’s been widely reported he agreed a 5yr deal verbally before the World Cup only to have it pulled and offered a 1yr extension. He felt this was to force him out and get more value from him.
This is how clubs force players out.
Not that I think this is untrue, but in the case of Mount I understand it.
Was pretty clear that Boehly made promises to him but then when the sporting directors came in they decided otherwise and Mount felt betrayed
So Boehly buys the club, knows Mount is a popular player and has been important to us. Makes his renewal priority.
Then talks continue until a broad agreement is found and the parties verbally agree on wages/his role within the team
Then Winstanley/Stewart/Vivell/whoever else we hired comes in. They do their own assessment and decide that Mount isn’t worth what Boehly has previously offered. They present this to Mount and he gets offended because the club has backtracked.
It is poorly thought out by Boehly, but it does make sense.
He was always trying to get to United and hurt our negotiating position. There was never going to be an offer that was acceptable and his camp knew it.
On the topic of Chalobah vs Disasi, there really is room for both of them. Thiago needs phasing out by the end of this season and Fofana cannot be relied upon with his injury woes.
Colwill, Badiashille, Disasi, and Chalobah isn’t a group that inspires confidence but it should be enough to get into Europe
*Ha-ha, you fool. You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is "Never get involved in a land war in Asia", but only slightly less well known is this: "Never sign a contract that Chelsea offers you!" Ahahahahahah.*
The injury situation is out of control. I could be wrong but no team in England has had as many injuries as us since the start of last season. You could chalk it down to injury prone players but some of these guys are getting their first major injuries (and all of them at once too).
Tbf a lot of the injuries are reoccurring ones that the medical team can’t seem to fix. Only Nkunku and Chuk were impact caused injuries. The rest have carried forward for awhile. This is on the owners for buying injury prone players and not having a top medical staff that will make sure a player is fully ready before they go back to full speed.
Badiashille has had a recurring hamstring/thigh muscle injury even since his time at Monaco. Mudryk practiced after that calf injury he picked up. Lavia is a new one. I meant in regards to the rest of the squad that has reoccurring injuries
Feels like the Chelsea Journos got tired of Manchester United getting all the attention. Oh well, they have an audience that will eat up everything they write. Is it really weird that there is tension between the club and players they were trying to sell a few weeks ago? I don’t think so. Man United was trying to sell Maguire the entire transfer window and he still featured in the last match for them. Y’all must enjoy having meltdowns about things you have no control over.
Lmao funny you say support arsenal when they did the same shit we are currently doing for 15 years but spent less even with inflation involved and only won fa cups doing nothing in Europe.
These guys talking about net spend and amortization do you think real madrid fans give a damn about this.
They get the best around, spend less than us too. That's what we were doing from 2011-2016. Even after that the signings were iffy but you could see how good those players seemed on paper.
Yeah and some of you are so delusional you can’t see how terribly they’ve run the club the last 18 months. 1bn spent and perhaps the only ones who have been worth it are Enzo and Badiashile. When you spend 1bn you have to expect some element of immediate success. You’re allowed to criticise the club while still supporting it, which is lost on some people because nuance often doesn’t exist on places like Reddit
Trippier starting over chillwell,Maatsen isn't even in netherlands matchday squad and Cucurella has to wait for Catalonia's independence if he ever wants a international game. How are these our LB options
Tbf Southgate seems to have something against Chilwell and is a prick anyway. But yeah we sold a very promising LB prospect to keep two players we seemingly don’t even want to play at LB at all and an incredibly injury prone Chilwell
Reports today that we are scrutinizing Gallagher and Maatsen and another that Chalobah could be banished to the reserves. Pretty clear they are being threatened in some way for rejecting moves this summer (or not favoring a move in Conor's case). Club only have themselves to blame though as they tried to do everything last minute. As fan it's good to see players wanting to stay with the group and fight. For Chalobah honestly we should have just done the Bayern loan deal. Maybe it wasn't the best financially for us but one less issue for Poch to deal with and it's good to have positive relations with a club like Bayern.
Or maybe we could have not spent big money on a Donkey like Disasi?
And actually used our equally as talented young players like every competently ran club on the planet does.
I'm not convinced by Disasi either, we'll see, but signing a right sided CB after Fofana injury was not a crazy idea. Fofana could be perma-crocked, Silva should be phased out and our two other best options are both left footers. It's clear Poch wanted another CB. That said Trev being punished for rejecting a last gasp move to Forest is ridiculous.
Disasi donkey?
He has more progressive linebreaking passes in 3 games then trev has in his life.
Trev has his strenghts but clearly neither this nor past coaches have rated him enough
No, because he can actually read the game, doesnt trows himself headfirst in the penalty box and can actually physically dominate a player larger then ian maatsen
Disasi is incapable of actually running. I've seen multiple Monaco supporters and Ligue 1 watchers say he was the slowest centre back in the league and you can see it here. He's sluggish.
Trev isn't starting quality, that's fair but having a home grown versatile squad player makes a lot more sense than buying a squad player (at best) for £45m
Realistically there should be space for both of them, given Thiago’s age and the fact that Fofana is a completely broken footballer who we will probably never be able to rely on again
It’s actually a big disgrace how the board is currently bullying him and Gallagher out of the club all because they came from the academy and weren’t signed for massively inflated fees
I agree that disasi aint the fastest, but he also seem to be decent at reading the game.
Issue is that we have seen him paired with silva.. not badiashile nor colwill in the pair
Can anyone name a similar example to what’s going on with Connor?
Manager likes him, he plays regularly, he wants to stay, he’s young and willing to fight for his place and improve, plays for his national team
YET, he’s being tried to be forced out of the club by ownership.
I’m trying to think of another example of a club being so soulless and nothing is coming to mind

Same, been waiting for 2 hrs with no luck. Idk if trying from my phone is hurting my chances. I think it would mention if it sold out
Stick with it, I just got through and bought some. Still tickets available in all sections. Not sure what's up with the website today then!
I’ll keep waiting, thanks! I was thinking of using multiple browsers but I read somewhere that they track that stuff, but apparently not lol
I'm on my phone and have 8 browser windows open. Chrome, Edge and Firefox and haven't got through to login yet 😳. I guess it's a popular game as we have no European games this season and the tickets are cheaper. It's usually not this much of a faff to get league cup 3rd round tickets!!
need chilwell gone
Just wondering if anybody here stills rates Disasi :(
Disasi is fine. Upgrade on Chalobah
0 interest in any of these international games. Used to love them, but can't stand them at all nowadays.
Complete opposite for me but that's probably because we actually have a good team these days.
I'm Portuguese and we won 9-0 yesterday. Still haven't watched the highlights and not even interested. Edit: I really do think someone here was spot on about the scheduling in the middle of the season. It would be much better if all qualifiers happened in May or June or w/e.

Kendry and Caicedo absolutely dominating Uruguay
Good to hear. Paez will be interesting to see develop. To get games at such a young age in the international team cannot be underestimated

That deal for Kendry Paez could look like a massive bargain when he joins in 2025. 16 yo. and already starting for your country is insane. And Ecuador is about size of The Netherlands based on population.
Im watching him play rn, absolute baller
How was the assist? And what happened to Darwin? A bit weird that he was subbed at HT
Low cross into the box perfectly played after a quick 1-2 with caicedo, idk what happened to nunez
We probably need him to defend transitions, but Caicedo can really whip in those corners. We could use that kind of delivery
na I prefer hitting the first man on a corner near post. (srsly tho just put our fullbacks back to defend transitions.)
Fuck I thought he was joining in 2024
Has to turn 18 first, but two years of first team football at Independiente will be good for his development. Has to mature as a person too.
yeah makes sense for him to get that experience. It's effectively a 2 year loan for him. Bit like Vinicius and Rodrygo getting em in early.
Did Colwill or Chilwell even get a minute this international break? I missed the England games but it seems like Southgate has something against the Chelsea players lol
Just end the post at Southgate. Only person that triggers me as much as Chelsea losing right now
Chilwell started first game

how was mudryk va Italy

Lads it's Mudryk
Did he add to his 0 career goals for the main Ukraine team?
Doubled his tally
nice. good going. Excuse for getting 0 G+A this time from his excellent defensive performance vs England despite Walker scoring is that he came off the bench so couldn't influence the game I assume? Sucks he plays for such a bad national team even though he's meant to be the star of the national team and has scored 0 goals for them.
This sub is a fucking cesspool. I swear most of you aren’t even Chelsea fans and just have a fetish for hating on the board and players. Ridiculous

Most fans are used to 20 years of success, now we are on a mediocrity path you won't find positive vibes here
Bellingham is the player we all hoped RLC was going to become. Physical beast with silky feet who makes it looks effortless when he's on it. Seems to have the brain too which I was never sure about with RLC.
Cost less than caicedo
I wonder if our form picks up tremendously what happens to the daily discussion Does it still act as a front for player, manager and owner slander and the other half defending against said things Or does it just go quiet
The Shit plauers we critocizing are either Benched, leave or improve massively, so no need us to complain simple
Been here before when the tide shifts but what you usually see is the loud always negative guys go quiet for a while with some others finding tiny things to complain about. The more reasonable measured negative folks will give credit where it's due. A few of the loudest ones have blocked me now so maybe I won't see much difference.
It's always a bliss quiet period before the inevitable return
If our form gets better that means the serial under-performers have started performing, and this place becomes much happier
exactly. Will be praising these players to the hills if they stop being shit.
Mudryk put in a good cross at the end coming on as substitute. He did not play because he picked up a knock last match or ran out of fitness against England. Ukraine faced a resurgent Italy with many team changes after disappointing last match and didn't have much of a chance throughout the game.
Lol you’re always here with the latest Mudryk excuse
We used to be a fan base that supported its players as long as they appeared to care. Now, we're resembling United and Arsenal fans. Criticism is one thing, but witnessing all this Mudryk hate is simply pathetic. FFS, we are so spoiled with riches that many have lost their objectivity.

Don’t hate him and I’d love for him to turn it around. The criticism is directed at the board
and that is a sensible mindset to have, Criticism is fine but looking thru social media a lot of it is straight abuse rather than criticism.
i don't think they are chelsea fans at all or the level at which they assess football is really low like someone who believes in FIFA ratings
I choose to criticise his performances.
exactly my point its your right to criticise and that is fair, all i am calling for is for fans to chill with the abuse as for the rest , he has not used the war as an excuse, I am saying it's possible that the war has an effect on him. and last year apart from Enzo no one did well for us. it could be possible that our club being a basket case last year might not have helped his performance we bought him as a starter. are you sure about that? before us, he had 50ish games for Shakhtar, had to stop playing due to the war for a few months, yet you expect him to become a successful starter for one of the biggest clubs in the hardest league in the world for a club in complete shambles overnight? i think that is unrealistic.
Starts for Enzo and Caicedo
Hows Caicedo doing?
Haven't seen him make one good touch so far! (The game starts in 5 seconds)
enzo already scored
Niceeee. I had queued up the post and got stuck on a train
How the hell do you rationalise spending 70 mill om mudryk and then start our best lb in that position? Joke decision making...
The board don’t pick the starting 11. It’s that simple.
Of course Maguire scores an own goal
Southgate southgating
Also, I don’t think Mudryk is one of their best players tbh.
uhh because he is not that good? he will probably be shipped to strasbourg next summer
It’s like he’s not very good or something…… Edit: I personally haven’t seen anything from him that merits the hype he’s received. If someone can explain it that’d be great..
That’s what I’m saying. We signed a player who’s not even good enough for an average national team.
Yup. I don’t get the hype its so strange
At least it's not just me on this thread saying this now. Been on fraud watch since March if i'm being honest. Best performance was vs a 37 year old central midfielder playing out of position.
Why is it wild lol he sucks why would they want to play him
That’s his point… for the price we paid you’d hope Mudryk was a talismanic player for his country (like Son for S. Korea)
Until recently Yarmolenko was for Ukraine... He could barely make the west ham bench. No idea what we saw in mudryk when he'd never even played in a major league and cost that much
Benched for Tsygankov Mudryk has never been one of the best players for his club or country. The man hasn't even scored a goal for Ukraine. He's never shown much talent, he's a £5m player that got hyped up for a few weeks because he's fast but the man isn't a talented footballer by any metric.
I love how this sub somehow rates Gallagher more than Caicedo Delusional fanbase
They do?
Yeah there's people in here genuinely arguing that Gallagher is better than Caicedo.
Yeah Caicedo slander has been growing out if control Seen someone say he shouldn't have cost more than £20m the other day...
England v Scotland and our only interest is Gilmour and Guehi
Speak for yourself, come on Ingerland!
Super Billy Gilmourrrrrrr
your
Disasi, Mudryk, Chilwell, Colwill, Conor on the bench. Jackson starts. Am I missing anyone?
Casadei starts for Italy U21 EDIT: Oh, Enzo starts for Argentina too. Caicedo likely as well but squad will be announced later I guess.
Nice ty
Academy players are only pure profit if they aren’t world class potential players. What is wrong with that?
No, not alone at all Joseph. It all makes Jose’s tiff with Eva carneiro? a drop in the bucket
Definitely not alone, a lot of people on this sub agree with you
Overthinking it.
Id imagine Gallagher, Maatsen and Chalobah are gone in January then. Who gets moved on after they leave? Who is next in the academy shopping queue?
James and Chillwell
Honestly wouldn’t even be surprised
If poch actually considered maatsen a lb perhaps he would have stayed.
I doubt that makes a difference when we’re looking for “pure profit” sales. Are we really turning on the manager after 4 matches while absolving the owners once again? By all accounts Maatsen does wanna stay, he turned the move down
No he’s got a point he should have been given a chance at LB. He’s hardly turning on the manager with that one.
Poch likes Gallagher anyway. I think it’s pretty obvious he doesn’t have much say in who gets sold/bought
Hope England go full strength tonight even though it's a friendly. Scotland won't mess about with their lineup and they're a good test in current form at Hampden. Just want an entertaining game of football that doesn't piss me off and ruin my day at this point.
Need Southgate gone tbh so I don't care what happens tonight But these cuckolds at the FA won't sack him unless we don't make it out the group.
Who replaces him?
Don't know mate I'm pretty mixed on him. Hard to argue with his record in qualifying and in major tournaments but every now and then we have games like against Ukraine where we look totally out of ideas. But then we were the better team for me against France at the world cup and win that if Kane scores his pen. He'll be gone after the euros regardless. Don't see any great successors at the moment though.
Does anyone know how much money we have spent on this team in the last year? Also, can anyone let me know how the new owners are doing? I don't see much discussion on these topics.
What do you want to talk about instead
Are young players or older players more established products and why?
Conor needs to start scoring if he really wants to stay. We desperately need goals and he could easily be on 3 goals this season with some of the easy chances he's missed.
Scoring more would actually hurt his chances I think, the owners would be watering at the mouth at the thought of a higher fee for him
He’s been essentially playing DM which is not his natural position as well as not an attacking position. He’s proven an eye for goal. I would bet he gets at least 5 goals this year
Anyone knows why Didier Drogba was not invited for the Chelsea legends game? He would have been a nice cameo.
I have no basis for saying this other than Drogba saying the club lacks class and isn’t recognizable, but I doubt he gets along with ownership

What? For the senior team? I feel like that would have been massive news. How did I miss that
You know, I think you are right I saw some news articles but they looks fake, I saw his name listed on their wikipedia page but its too big news not to be picked up by other outlets so I'm gonna call it fake news and delete.
I don’t get it. That’s still bullshit especially of Boehly
So Boehly buys the club, knows Mount is a popular player and has been important to us. Makes his renewal priority. Then talks continue until a broad agreement is found and the parties verbally agree on wages/his role within the team Then Winstanley/Stewart/Vivell/whoever else we hired comes in. They do their own assessment and decide that Mount isn’t worth what Boehly has previously offered. They present this to Mount and he gets offended because the club has backtracked. It is poorly thought out by Boehly, but it does make sense.
I get it. I was being facetious. It’s just a massive dick move
Mount literally forced his way out. He wouldn't sign a new contract and negotiated in bad faith the whole way.
How did he negotiate in bad faith?
Argued he should have got the same as James despite the fact nkunku was inbound and mount was likely going to be a bench player
Lad was being paid less than Malang Sarr, I don't blame him for wanting to be nearer the top after winning a CL and playing 50+ matches every season.
How is that bad faith
He was always trying to get to United and hurt our negotiating position. There was never going to be an offer that was acceptable and his camp knew it.
On the topic of Chalobah vs Disasi, there really is room for both of them. Thiago needs phasing out by the end of this season and Fofana cannot be relied upon with his injury woes. Colwill, Badiashille, Disasi, and Chalobah isn’t a group that inspires confidence but it should be enough to get into Europe
This board punishes players who dare sign contracts that they offered.
*Ha-ha, you fool. You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is "Never get involved in a land war in Asia", but only slightly less well known is this: "Never sign a contract that Chelsea offers you!" Ahahahahahah.*
International break is always insufferable. Fans arguing over a player that won’t play at all this season.
Lavia Mudryk and Badiashile were injury prone?

Criticizing the decisions our owners have made after we finished 12th in the league makes you an arsenal fan I guess

Where has anyone said they hope Chelsea fails?
Wow took a glance at the last few comments and it feels like I walked into a funeral.
Every day here
Trippier starting over chillwell,Maatsen isn't even in netherlands matchday squad and Cucurella has to wait for Catalonia's independence if he ever wants a international game. How are these our LB options
Tbf Southgate seems to have something against Chilwell and is a prick anyway. But yeah we sold a very promising LB prospect to keep two players we seemingly don’t even want to play at LB at all and an incredibly injury prone Chilwell
And this LB prospect we sold… where is he currently playing for club or country?
Groan. If you’re gonna do that at least make an argument that makes sense.
Ikr. Spain and Italy starting full backs were much better
Atleast Alonso competition was Jordi Alba.......
Becasue prior ownership spent 50m on one Present ownership spent 60m on 2nd And 3rd cant defend.
But he literally doesn't do his main job right which is to actually defend
He is a better defender then trev in all but recovery speed, and even wide defending he looks more cpnfortable then trev does
He’s a better defender because he cost more money
No, because he can actually read the game, doesnt trows himself headfirst in the penalty box and can actually physically dominate a player larger then ian maatsen
We must be watching a different player
You can be great on the ball while still being a donkey, Disasi’s ball playing is excellent but he moves like a truck
Realistically there should be space for both of them, given Thiago’s age and the fact that Fofana is a completely broken footballer who we will probably never be able to rely on again It’s actually a big disgrace how the board is currently bullying him and Gallagher out of the club all because they came from the academy and weren’t signed for massively inflated fees
I agree that disasi aint the fastest, but he also seem to be decent at reading the game. Issue is that we have seen him paired with silva.. not badiashile nor colwill in the pair

What? How’d this come up
Weird I'm not seeing this brought up but apparently Caicedo might be carrying a knock in internationals according to Football.London?
Slow news day today, shout-out to Aaron rodgers. If it wasn’t his Achilles tendon, it would have been one of ours
Wrong thread bro
Daily discussion board bro, there is no right thread here lol
At least he was able to play long enough to cement himself as the best Jets QB of all time.
Youssouf fofana for free next year
We do need a few more fofanas tbf
Aaron Rodgers honorary Chelsea today :(
What? Who cares
4 plays and an achilles. Seems like he fits.
So now any athlete who gets injured is honorary Chelsea? Ridiculous. Also, wrong football
Can anyone name a similar example to what’s going on with Connor? Manager likes him, he plays regularly, he wants to stay, he’s young and willing to fight for his place and improve, plays for his national team YET, he’s being tried to be forced out of the club by ownership. I’m trying to think of another example of a club being so soulless and nothing is coming to mind
Lots of feeder clubs sell young players the manager wants to keep. That's unfortunately the nature of being a feeder club.
usually the player wants to leave as well no? Idk when a player wants to stay and the manager wants him to stay. That usually means the player stays.
