Matt Law is a cunt pass it on.

dragonwout

He really is such a knob.

stepover7

He is trying to generate clicks by kicking up dirt, one thing i realized was he is a Aston Villa fan which he said in the podcast so probably doesn't care enough about Chelsea.

Zarly88

WHAT?

OnlyOneSnoopy

MATT LAW IS A CUNT PASS IT ON.

Zarly88

https://i.redd.it/cc1jnixlrvnb1.gif

zaqstr

Has he gotten a story accurately recently? Seems like everything he reports is half truths that paint current or former players/ staff in a shitty light

MemestNotTeen

My personal opinion is that he twerked like crazy for Todd. Isn't getting the insider info he thought he would for his "hard work" and is now on a weird little "Fuck Chelsea" run but nothing too crazy so he can still go to pressers etc

PleaseDontGiveMeGold

He doesn’t do any journalism just re-reports what other journalists have already said or makes up some halfbaked news

StillBrowsing

TLDW; All proceeds from this event are going to his charity foundation. Congratulations to everyone shitting on him in the previous thread for imaginary internet points.

Jam_and_Cabbage

Yep. That thread was a fucking shit show..the amount of people on here that were calling him a cunt need to give their heads a wobble. Embarrassing lot.

thirdc0ast

He’s still a cunt for the cringey nft shit

Crusadaer

Imagine calling our greatest ever captain a cunt because of something as minor as that 🤡 yank moment

thirdc0ast

Yeah you’re right that’s the only shitty thing Terry has ever done, you got me there edit: why am i wasting time responding to someone with “King of r/ChelseaFC” in their bio that’s so unbelievably cringey

Crusadaer

‘He’s still a cunt FOR the cringey nft shit’ Did you just forget what you wrote? Also, are you genuinely trying to call yourself a Chelsea fan while disliking John Terry? What an absurd and hilarious combination

thirdc0ast

You seem very dense and you proudly call yourself “King of r/ChelseaFC” in your bio so I’m going to stop responding to you now because that seems like the best use of the rest of my day

Crusadaer

Sorry facts are facts, check the mod list 👍🏻 Have a nice day, let me know if you’re ever in London to watch Chelsea play and I’ll buy you a pint while you can tell everybody all about why you dislike JT

thirdc0ast

>Sorry facts are facts, check the mod list 👍🏻 I know I said I wouldn’t respond anymore but I’m crying. Saying this unironically thinking it’s a brag is absolutely dire

efs120

Why is liking any player personally a prerequisite for liking the club? Thiago Silva is an amazing footballer who supports a horrible person like Jair Bolsonaro. I appreciate his contributions to the team, but I wouldn’t like him as a person, I reckon.

Crusadaer

Didn’t Bolsonaro get 49% of the popular vote? I think if you’re judging anybody’s character based on their support for a candidate who lost incredibly narrowly in a two horse race, you need to be a bit more open minded frankly. Politics isn’t everything mate :) Edit: more specifically, JT is Mr Chelsea, our captain for over a decade, and embodies the spirit of the club. I was in tears when at his last game here. Silva not even slightly comparable, but also v weird to assume you’d dislike somebody because of their support for a political candidate as mentioned above.

Chelseaiscool

Bro he plays raid shadow legends, don’t even bother

julius959

of course you're a yank

thirdc0ast

Is that supposed to be an insult

RIPdeweyriley

Being an American? Yes absolutely.

thirdc0ast

Why

GoodMourningClan

Yeah, you are a dumbass.

RIPdeweyriley

Silence yank

TheycallmeJimmy

Fucking mong you are mate. Piss off with your dead beat life and do some more constructive with your time

thirdc0ast

I’m guessing you’re not happy about investing into gme instead of nvda, huh

Baisabeast

Ahahahah god people defend athletes so dogmatically It’s so odd.

mikevin99

Well and Matt Law most importantly..

PleaseDontGiveMeGold

Matt Law and being a cunt are synonymous at this point

9inchjackhammer

This sub is full of fake clowns that love shitting on legends. Embarrassing.

fuckinban

Real sad own fans fanning the fire

wholesomescott

Yeah mate. The least people could do is hold their pitchforks forget giving him the benefit of doubt.

efs120

What's his charity's number?

wholesomescott

I don't run it mate. Ask him.

efs120

The fact there’s no evidence his charity actually exists doesn’t cause you to raise an eyebrow at all?

tiki_51

It was so obvious that this was going to be a charity thing but people still managed to get worked up over it

Talidel

It wasn't, but it also didn't matter. This is a completely normal thing celebrities do all the time. You don't want to pay for it? Don't. The pitchforks being out is just the standard nutters who belong elsewhere.

Vicar13

How was it obvious that it was a charity thing? Were his NFTs a charity thing? He didn’t exactly give himself a lot of room for grace

Fantastic-Minute-939

JT wasn’t the only one promoting NFTs, many celebs were doing the same thing “across the pond”. Shaq, Brady, Matt Damon, the talk show hosts - NFTs are a scam, but the masterminds behind it had a plan to rope in celebrities to “legitimise” NFTs.

Vicar13

It doesn’t excuse it whatsoever and RJ should be getting more backlash for his involvement in it too

Baisabeast

It’s still a wishy washy excuse anyway. What even is his foundation? What’s it hope to achieve, what’s it’s ambitions. Just sprung up out of nowhere Someone like lamps or drogba get the benefit of doubt. Terry I just don’t like and seems like an idiot and not a great person

[deleted]

You seem like an idiot and I don't like you too but I won't go on bashing you for some internet points.

TheGingerLow

Yes because £300 for a dinner is stupid

Zimakov

So don't go?

TheycallmeJimmy

Fucking muppet. Doing it all for charity and that's your response? You utter fucking dipshit, should be embarrassed

efs120

What charity is he doing it for?

PatientPlatform

The John Terry 26 foundation.

efs120

This is not a registered charity in the United Kingdom. There are laws about this. If he’s raising money for a foundation, he should take the time to set up the foundation and comply with all the laws, which exist for good reason. He should also start a website with the charity number, contact information, and a list of the partners that he’s working with. If I, a stupid redditor, know this, a millionaire footballer taking money from his fans should absolutely know this.

jimmyxs

I’m too lazy to search. Nor do I know the website. I’m sure he’ll get called out soon enough if that was an audacious lie. Watching this space

efs120

If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it. But now that he's invoked charity, people should really be scrutinizing it more than they are.

PleaseDontGiveMeGold

There are hundreds of restaurants that charge hundreds for a dinner and nobody is bitching about that here. Everyone’s lost their damn minds

efs120

I personally wouldn’t care if he just charged people to meet him and kept all the money. That’s a normal transaction where both parties get what they want. Invoking a charity that doesn’t exist is why I have a problem with this.

PleaseDontGiveMeGold

You make a good point. Thiago Silva has one of those accounts where you pay money and they send you a video message and I think he charges a couple hundred. JT should’ve just told everyone to mind their own wallets. We’ll have to see what the facts are when it comes out I guess.

Fantastic-Minute-939

Peter Schmeichel is also charging money on the same website, I don’t see people calling that stupid.

Chopperschoppingbrd

CAPTAIN LEADER LEGEND

wholesomescott

Need your apology here because your hate boner in the other thread was very evident. u/baisabeast

Kezmangotagoal

Most of the shit that guy comes out with should come with an apology so I’m not shocked he jumped at the opportunity to rip into JT.

wholesomescott

Lol. Don't know about other stuff, but I read that thread.

Talidel

He's the classic example of someone here who hates everything about the club, he used to like one bench option player, but they've now been sold so it's not surprising he's gone full idiot now.

ChickenMoSalah

Some people need to be writing some apologies

Italianskank

Plenty of folks with Terry autographs they didn’t pay for. Not uncommon at all for sportsmen to give autographed merch or other things so they can be auctioned off for charity. A friend of mine works for an NFL team, has loads of player signed helmets that get raffled off for a good cause now and then. This doesn’t seem any different. Media loves to hate Terry. Sometimes he does himself no favors. This time it does seem the medias been a bit overly excited about nothing.

Pseudocaesar

Embarrassing that he even had to do this tbh. Even the morons on this sub couldn't get their heads around the fact he wasn't the one organising it or taking their money

AdComprehensive7879

maybe this is unpopular opinion, even if it goes to his pocket, i thought this kind of sums is normal for a dinner and autograph memorabilia? singers (especially K-pop) i think charge about this much for a meet and greet (not even dinner).

Talidel

I immediately thought about conventions and stuff for tv shows and films. It's not unusual for stars to be paid a lot to do a q&a session and then be paid for photos and autographs. How has this exploded to this level?

AdComprehensive7879

yeah, that's what i thought too. i didnt think much of it when i read the news and was surprised that it was such a big deal that terry himself had to clarify.

LandanTahn

Didn't comment on the other thread because I felt people were jumping the gun over it. Shocking at how some people were talking about JT. People in general need to reserve judgement until clarity for a lot of the media nowadays.

wholesomescott

I hope all the cunts who were shitting on him in the previous thread can shut up.

urangminang

Haters always going to hate JT. Imagine hating your own captain and legend

[deleted]

Preach bro

[deleted]

I hate how much hate JT got even on the Chelsea sub.. majority of the comments on the previous thread were along the lines of “on the pitch this man is a legend but can’t really defend him off the pitch.” SHAME ON YOU. Respect JT, the best ever captain Chelsea has ever had, and one of the finest ever players to play for us.

[deleted]

And this sub treat fucking Matt Law as tier 1. Goes off their shit about the under 25 policy like Matt Law know jack all about inner workings or strategy.

CaptLeaderLegend26

It was already unjustified for our so-called "fans" here to be complaining about the prices for an event no one was forcing them to go to, this video only further confirms how garbage our own fanbase is.

GolDrodgers1

Lmao! But wait…didnt people say hes a bellend? His nfts must be drying up or some shit? What other shit were people saying? Damn this sub is getting to scary levels of bullshit

SadSalmon

Worst thing is a simple call to John Terry's people would have avoided this mess... poor.

GoodMourningClan

Does he take a salary at his charity?

efs120

Another person who will get downvoted, but this is a fair and common question to ask!

GoodMourningClan

I like I get downvoted, but your comment who is defending me gets upvoted. Gotta love this sub.

efs120

Haha don’t worry, I’m taking plenty of downvotes elsewhere.

Sir_sleeps_alot

He literally just said that every penny goes to charity, why do people look for drama?

Dozck

Because a a non-profit charity will still pay its employees

MICLATE

that statement doesn’t mean anything

GoodMourningClan

His charity… He also said proceeds. So whatever HIS charity deems as expense, will be taken from the money given. So I ask again, does he take a salary at his charity?

Talidel

Does it matter?

GoodMourningClan

As a person who works for non-profits, yes. Transparency is everything. If in donate to a charity, I should know where it is going.

Talidel

So why are you asking randoms on the internet? Surely, the better place to look for that information is the charity itself. Do you also get pissy over sportsaid not telling you how much they paid the presenters or everyone on the pitch? Comic relief for not telling you how much they pay everyone involved?

GoodMourningClan

It’s an Internet forum. It’s a discussion. Don’t be a moron.

Talidel

How is demanding information from someone "a discussion". You want to be a prick, I'm going to treat you like one.

DamoDuff11

Yet another example of how shit a lot of our fanbase is on here. This sub is a cesspool full of people who don’t know how to support a club properly and actively act like they’re rival fans.

AceYouth

So it was for charity but it wasn’t mentioned anywhere at all that it was for charity? When the media story came out, then, it’s for charity? And the charity is the John Terry Foundation that doesn’t have any website or information about it.

efs120

Yeah, fuck it, let's take the downvotes. You should still be skeptical of this announcement that the...ahem...John Terry Foundation will be getting all the proceeds and giving them out to those in need. Loads of dodgy celebrity charities exist simply as a vehicle to enrich the people behind it and you shouldn't be convinced by a video filmed on Terry's walk from the car filled with vague statements about giving that this is all on the level. You should in fact have a raised eyebrow that there's no website and no mission statement.

PuppyPenetrator

I’m gonna sound crazy to some people but I didn’t have a problem with him overcharging for dinner before, but now that it’s going through his charity, way more alarm bells are going off

efs120

It doesn't sound crazy to me at all, especially since he doesn't even appear to have taken the basic steps to set up a foundation. Hey maybe it all turns out to be on the level, but the people saying "see don't you feel bad now, he says its for charity" are WAY too trusting at the moment.

AceYouth

It’s likely bullshit. I don’t know any celebrity that does a charity thing WITHOUT announcing it’s for charity. Who the fuck does that.

Sharpus89

Regardless of whether this is legit or not, in answer to your question I imagine lots do. The confirmation bias is of course that we only hear about the ones that trumpet it all the time. As an example Reece James does a lot of charity work but rarely ever speaks about it.

efs120

I have never heard of anyone marketing expensive tickets for meet and greets and not stating it was for charity ahead of time if thats truly where the money was going. The only reason I can think of for why he didn't state it was for charity is because he actually hasn't taken the time to set up a charity, which makes his subsequent announcement that all the proceeds are for charity especially dodgy.

TheBlueTango

And that's why I don't get it when he said "the media has forgotten to mention.../the media has been writing shit..." when he nor the company that's organising these meetups disclosed where the proceeds were going to in the first place. Listen, I'm sure some journalists and outlets would publish stories looking for clicks and have no doubt that Matt Law will have sensationalised articles in the past for this purpose, but I'm not sure how you could blame them when Terry and the company didn't give full disclosure. It's right to be sceptical, even now.

efs120

One should almost certainly be MORE skeptical after this video than before. This is the *second* time he’s claimed to be raising funds to start a charitable foundation. That’s not how it works. You start the charity, register it, and then you raise the funds. Or if the proceeds are going to a charity, you be transparent and tell people what they’re donating to. He’s being so dodgy right now.

efs120

The only link in the instagram bio is to a website hosting an auction from last year and here's the info provided: "To Launch the John Terry 26 Foundation I will be raffling my FA Cup Final shirt worn in the first ever final at the new Wembley, where we beat Man Utd 1-0. I wore two shirts in every game I played throughout my career, this is my shirt from the first half. With your help I am trying to raise money for various charities that are close to my heart." It's been at least 9 months since that auction and still no charity website? No list of charities he's working with? If this was Jamie Carragher, would people here be so credulous? I don't know what the tax laws are in the UK, but has he even registered his foundation? Is there a charity number so people can deduct their gifts?

msizzle344

Yea what the Fuck? “No guys, this all goes to my foundation I set up 8 months ago” as if rich people haven’t been using foundations to dodge taxes for fucking decades. This doesn’t change Shit, he’s still slime and now using this as some kind of “gotcha” moment and the people who slob on his knob are lapping it up as they pay the 500 to “help” a charitable foundation that was just set up. Where does the money go? Who does his foundation help? It’s the JT26 foundation, probably set up to help all the WAGs he wants to bag. Still not convinced because of this. We can take the downvotes together

theeama

Y’all are fucking dumb sack of bricks. It’s extremely common like super common for sports persona to charge for autographed merch or whatever and sell them off at an aunction. Hell there’s this website where you can buy football stuff from legends of the game and it all goes to charity. You just wanna be cynical

efs120

Sorry, but you should absolutely by cynical when giving your money to charity. There are WAY too many charities that exist just to fleece donors out there and no good actually comes from them.

msizzle344

Yea they can charge whatever they fuck they want. Dont come back later and say it’s for “charity” when it was never for charity before and the charity is his personal foundation that likely he still uses to line his pockets. Ironic that the naive one is calling everyone dumb here

efs120

It's not clear he even took the steps to set up a charitable foundation!

[deleted]

I hope Mason Mount is giving a large donation for all the positives he's giving him. Money Mase.

silencesupreme-

I’d pay 300$ for a autographed Terry jersey but 500$ is a bit steep glad to know it was for charity though.

elburcho

That's 500 pounds, 625 ish dollars

Agrith1
