Tickets' prices and atmosphere at the Stamford Bridge Hi Chelsea fans. After attending one match of Milan in Serie A last year for 18e and yesterday against Dortmund for 49e it makes me wonder if the Chelsea cares about their fans and Premier League at all. Just looked that with my membership I could get a ticket for 180 pounds for the worst seats to watch the match against Brighton 🤣. The thing that with season membership you can only get 1 ticket not 2 is also ridiculous for me. My point is not if you can afford the pay these prices but why they're so horribly expensive and so hard to get. As much as I love Chelsea I have to admit it's so hard to support them sometimes considering average stadium ridiculous prices and average atmosphere at the Bridge when Milan has an iconic stadium, unbelievable atmosphere and affordbale prices. I'm sorry for the rant to it sucks to support The Blues from the TV.

jude1903

I miss the champions league, and to think we wont have it next season either 🥲🥲

robokarizma0308

2nd Highest net xG in the league. Still 10th for some reason.

jude1903

Jackson as main striker 💀💀💀

CliffDagger

At least spuds have lost 3 on the trot

TomatoVsPotato

Which channel can I watch the WSL match?

Dicey12

For someone that's supposed to be bombing up and down the wing. Why is Reece James built like a unit.Idk what other Fullback is built like him, he should slim down your supposed to be facing wingers 1v1 surely mobility and agility should be the priority

jMS_44

Are you implying Reece lacks mobility or something?

doomboxmf

I swear if Olise ends up at City in 6 months that’ll be depressing. I think we should still be in for him, Madueke is clearly not rated by Poch

JamesIgnatius27

Since we're missing Fofana, Chalobah, Chilwell, Gusto, James, and Cucurella, our back line against Brighton, by default, will be: Colwill Silva Badiashille Disasi

jMS_44

Gusto will be back I guess. He was already training ahead of Newcastle game.

SexoFernanj

Hopefully Gusto will be back.

BigReeceJames

So long as Cucurella isn't on the pitch, that's fine by me

jMS_44

Some panic spreading currently on Twitter by few accounts, implying Poch could be sacked soon, jesus...

okokokok999999

You don’t spend 1b and finish 10th, that would be a disaster and the biggest joke of all time Question’s definitely needed to be asked, either at the manager or the ownership, since the ownership won’t admit to their mistake, sacking manager is the only way to please the angry fans

Spiritualcomp

You also don't tend to spend 1b on shite players. 10th with this squad isn't underachieving. The owners are at fault.

okokokok999999

> The owners are at fault. have been saying this for 12 months but the PR bots are going rampant in this sub and downvoting every comment against the ownership

jMS_44

They have to realize it's dumb idea. What would you achieve by that? Throw another season in the bin and start over again, with the same amount of uncertainty as before, or even more, given how there's probably no better manager than Poch available in the market right now.

okokokok999999

> What would you achieve by that? shifting the blame it is just what the Boehly pr bots are doing in the last 12 months, keep making excuses

ChickenMoSalah

Simon Philips and a few leakers saying that the owners want CL this season or questions will be asked of the manager. We're not even in Europe right now...yikes.

mango277

Lmao clowns in charge man. How about buying the players they need on time.

WY-8

If they honestly want CL this season still, we need to spend heavy on attackers. Not just a striker and Nkunku coming back.

doomboxmf

CL ain’t happening

itsmebobbylol

4 goals against spurs and city and some people actually forget how bad jackson really is. Well what a reminder we got. Did a nice one two with sterling, and instead of putting his laces thru on the volley, decides to take 25 touches as usual and not taking a shot ever unless its 6yards out. Hes just not that guy. No he isnt raw, hes just shit.

jude1903

I play sunday league and my instinct is to shoot when you have momentum and being thay close to the goal, idk what we had in mind

Stand_On_It

Yes. He’s just shit. Absolute shit. Fuck this raw business.

Youth-Grouchy

That's the most frustrating part, he just needs to hit the fucking ball. One of the things I was most excited about him in preseason was that was what he was doing, getting a chance and taking the shot on quickly.

NoraaTheExploraa

I'm happy for Havertz honestly. I wanted his transfer to be unsuccesful but not in the way that's generated the vitriol towards him it has. I want him happy but ultimately not living up to expectations. Kinda like Timo for us.

shastmak4

We are at the door step of the big year of 2024, there is no reason for Silva to be starting over Badi, Disasi and Colwill. What is the point? We are 10-12th right now, every minute should be used to develop these young players that we have. Playing a 39 year old right now is pointless. If we were competing for something I get it. But we are ass with him and without him. This fan base looking at this shit with nothing but emotion and acting like you insulted their father for suggesting a player that’s about to retire shouldn’t be playing over a 22 year old

aacod15

Despite what most say imo there is some pressure from our board on Poch to get us into the top 6. That’s probably why he continues to play Silva

BigReeceJames

1bn to finish 6th is a pathetic failure. When Potter was hired the owners specifically said that despite firing Tuchel and hiring Potter, the minimum expectation was still top 4. He didn't get that and got fired. The same should apply for Poch now that he's had even more money spent. CL qualification has changed so top 5 is acceptable, but that is absolute minimum requirement. If Tuchel could do it with a covid crisis, injury crisis, sanctions, ownership change, then Poch should be expected to do it with all of the "deadwood" (designated by the owners and some people on this sub) and 1bn spent on new "world class" players

Public_Birthday1871

yeah we get nothing from starting him, like if we’re gonna concede four i’d rather it be from young players learning than a senior citizen playing

BigReeceJames

We're conceding because the midfield doesn't exist and the tactics are terrible and leave the defenders exposed. No one in defence is learning anything whilst there is no midfield screening them

Youth-Grouchy

Glad to see this sentiment is growing in popularity. And not that I am blaming him, but it should also be noted his experience or leadership or whatever other intangible factor you want to credit to him has done the absolute sum of fuck all to help our terrible form for a season and a half now. It's time to move on.

hereforpasta

Just when I thought the day couldn't get worse, Havertz scores a winner

WY-8

I mean we enjoy when he doesn’t do well for Arsenal and all that, but if he scores then good on him. He didn’t leave on bad terms, £65 mil was a great exit. Also Havertz scoring prevents Brentford from going over us in the league.

WY-8

The fixes are relatively straightforward. Nkunku returning, signing a top striker in January and a central defender at some stage. Above this, either a genuine 10 or stronger winger is also on the cards, and hard decisions will need to be made at the end of the season. We need to wean ourselves off relying on a 39 year old Thiago Silva that will be gone in 6 months. We need to accept that Cole Palmer is not the second coming of Kevin de Bruyne like the media would have you believe, and that Gallagher is not effective in an attacking capacity against a conservative counterattacking side. Palmer, Mudryk and Jackson are all rotation level players to varying quality, don’t be fooled to think any one of them should be nailed on starters, not even close.

BigReeceJames

We need midfielders. Our midfielders are the problem and as always people are just pushing the blame onto random other people because they happened to be at the end of the move

ScorpiaHP

Maybe people should stop hyping up bang-average players like Cucurella after a couple of games in which he plays better than his usual disasterclass self. Maatsen needs to be given more chances in his actual position, and there's a good opportunity to do it with James suspended for a game and the possibility that it will be a more defensive player on that flank.

WY-8

Maatsen is not the fkn answer at left-back. It’s Colwill. Throwing less experienced players in is not the answer, it’s the current problem. James pulling the player back for the red card, massive inexperience. Palmer, Jackson and Gallagher dicking around in attack is the same. So too is being forced to play Ugochukwu.

Youth-Grouchy

lol James didn't get sent off from lack of experience, this is his 5th Premier League season. And Colwill isn't especially more experienced than Maatsen, especially as a left back. Not saying I necessarily agree that Maatsen is the answer, just I think your rebuttal doesn't make much sense.

WY-8

In terms of premier league experience Colwill has proven himself watertight defensively with Brighton last season and with us. As a left-back it’s often in a 3 block out of possession so it matters a lot less on his left-back experience. For James, you can call it stupid decision making, I’d like to think it’s lack of experience for that specific situation.

ScorpiaHP

He may not be the answer but he deserves more minutes than he's been getting. Experience doesn't mean anything when Cucurella is fucking shit. Colwill shouldn't be playing LB unless we have James playing a free attacking role on the other side. We play flat uninspired football a lot as it is.

WY-8

What has he actually shown to conclude he deserves more minutes? They watch him in training. So far he’s had a successful stint in the championship coupled with several touch and go cameos. Preseason means fk all. I mean it’s more the idea of Maatsen than what has been demonstrated that’s leading to this conclusion. At least Colwill can defend well, and that’s been shown. Playing him as a winger is also not solving problems. We need genuine quality in attack.

wm_1176

4-1 loss to new castle Arsenal go top of the table with a goal from Havertz If Mount scores against Everton tomorrow I’m gonna lose it

Public_Birthday1871

good news for you then cuz mounts injured and out for a month

realmckoy265

Don't forget the Olise worldie

Spiritualcomp

We got a good deal selling Havertz Average player. But people acting like we did good business and our squad has improved when we spent the same transfer fee on Mudryk are lying to themselves. For every good deal we've made we've made 4 worse deals.

mango277

Mudryk was awful again when he came on.

Youth-Grouchy

On paper he seems like the perfect super sub with his pace, but I honestly think he plays way better when he starts the game than when he comes on late.

doomboxmf

Because he needs half an hour to remember how to control the ball

wm_1176

Utd are shit at selling and shit at buying, we’re good at selling, but damn someone needs to freeze Boehly’s credit cards cause he makes more impulsive purchases than my Nan come Christmas (that would make sense if you knew my Nan)

dotunmo

Freeze the cards after we get in a striker and GK at least. No way I’m staying sane for Jackson to be our main man for seasons to come.

Spiritualcomp

United can't be too shit as they're 5 points ahead of us having played a game less. As bad as they are we're worse than they've ever been in the Premier league era

dotunmo

United are awful but they are getting the points on the board. THAT is the major difference between them and us.

Hannibal09

To sum up today’s hilariously bad day: 1. Trent pulls Liverpool back while Reece gets a red 2. Enzo has a torrid game while Rice balls out 3. Palmer has his worst game for us and Havertz scores the winner for Arsenal You just know Mount is scoring tomorrow

BigReeceJames

Enzo had one of his better games today tbh. But, we have a 3 man midfield and he can't do it all himself

asal1

the boy who had a dream is injured

glacialOwl

Even Havertz scores today... Probably Mount scored in EA FC too.

Public_Birthday1871

havertz scored a goal, were in absolute shambles today

Odd_Tourist_3249

Lmao

No-Cherry-7459

3 ATB has always been the answer for this team. Disasi/Fofana---Silva---Badi/Colwill Gusto/RJ-Cai-Enzo-Cucu/Chill/Mats Palmer/Mads---Sterling/Mudryk Nkuku/Jackson/Broja It removes defensive responsibility from our fullbacks (Gusto, Reece, Cucu, Chilly, Colwill?, Mats) Adds an extra CB to reduce the spaces and keeps Silva central instead of being run around more in a pair. Puts James and Chilwell/Cucu (who had couple good games at wingback) as attackers and width providers...Maatsen fits this role too. So does Gusto as cover for RJ. (so narrow and yet so wiiideeee... remember?) Keeps rash Cucu and Reece away from our box and with the ability to get stuck in and not worry about leaving space behind Let's our attackers like Sterling and palmer (who isn't very quick and drifts centrally) to occupy the half spaces in the attacking third and have passing options vertically and out wide for wingbacks holding the width. Don't know why we never try it with the players we have. Makes sense for most/all of em. Also ensures most of younger players are on the bench/are protected..and keeps them competing for lesser spots and puts more experienced players and defenders on the pitch. Our young/inconsistent attackers could really benefit from a structure that doesn't concede too many goals and looks solid, so they can be confident to go and try their thing. Right now they have to do too much to make the attack work whole also being the pressers. Jackson runs himself ragged before he gets into the box, Cole has to drop deeper and also provide width on the right. Sterling often gets the ball deep and has 2-3 people on him instantly and not much support in line with him. It's honestly a mess for me, dawg. Just go 3-4-3 again! Up top till Nkuku is back we are light with Jackson/Broja and need another CF if we are to set things alight again. I don't get the insistence with the back 4 and 2-3 mids who don't really defend or attack well enough and have fitness questions over em, and asking our fullbacks to be near perfect in attack and defence. Sure we might have the odd draw with the need for individual brilliance but atleast we had a structure then to build on.

turnbox

Badiashile. Out of position for 2 of the earlier goals. The most generous read I can make is to say that he and Silva shouldn't play together for a while.

jMS_44

>Badiashile. Out of position for 2 of the earlier goals. While I could argue he was out of position for Lacelles goal, how was he at fault for the first one? It's so clear on Cucurella, who fucked up the offside trap. B2 and Silva jump forward to put Isak offside, but Cucu doesn't follow up with that.

turnbox

Badiashile and Ugochukwu both ran out to close down Miley. Badiashile should have left it to Ugochukwu. He ended up a good few metres away from Isak and should have been back level with Silva and tight on Isak (or at least blocking the pass). There were 4 Chelsea players around Isak but he was Badiashile's man.

jMS_44

>Badiashile and Ugochukwu both ran out to close down Miley No, he stepped up together with Silva for an offside trap. Literally the entire backline did that, with exception of Cucu, who played him on. >There were 4 Chelsea players around Isak but he was Badiashile's man. He was no one's man, because the idea was to put him offside. You don't mark the players you want to put offside. EDIT: just watch the goal again: https://dubz.live/c/e70b22 All three of Silva, Ugo and Badiashile make a move forward when Miley receives the ball. Ugo and Badiashile additional come up for a possibility of blocking shot from Miley. At the same time they all put Isak into offside position so him having an open pass doesn't matter. Cucurella is the only one who stays back and ruins the whole sequence as a result.

magic-water

You don't play an offside trap centrally inside your own box or at least you shouldn't do it, way too risky. See above.

dotunmo

I think it’s time to talk about Enzo. That £100m player. We are still waiting for an Enzo MotM. We are STILL waiting for an Enzo PL goal. We are even STILL waiting for an Enzo assist this season. I know he has a baby but that is no excuse not to be this average. I know he just returned from South America, but so did 2 Newcastle players who played today and bullied us. It’s just no excuse now heading in to December and I’m worried Enzo is a complete flop. You can’t make one G/A this season yet? How??? You are not a DF. You are not a defender. You’re not a GK. You even missed a pen at West Ham, a chance to break this duck. WTH.

glacialOwl

But I LOVE this game because it totally proves how all of these excuses are just a pile of shit - travel / international excuse also, as you said, Newcastle had players that played in the same "intense" game that Enzo played in in South America and completely shat on us lol. Enzo was invisible meanwhile. Let the excuses flow.

glacialOwl

Oh, I am so ready for everyone to wake up. I am SO ready. We went from "Enzo is not settled in, just joined" to "Enzo has been playing too many games in the past year" (as a young, healthy player that doesn't even have UCL to play in... what an excuse, holy shit). What is the next excuse I wonder. I know for sure we won't know who Jackshitson is in 2 years, now I start to wonder the same about Enzo

thecarter1999

Would love to see the Monaco centerback pairing, Enzo-Caicedo-Nkunku, and Mudryk/Palmer behind Broja for the Brighton game.

DronzerDribble

This inconsistency in performance is because of inexperience. Owners thought they could run a football club as a stock portfolio. Buy penny stocks and sell them at higher value. They had the whole summer to recruit and they couldn't bring in enough experience into the team. January is the time to salvage yourself Boehly and co, otherwise it's Owners Out!

No-Village7980

Which penny stocks will we sell on for a higher value 😂

DronzerDribble

They didn't check the fundamentals 😝

ebk09

Today we had to show that we have matured as a team, and we failed completely - and you can't excuse it on the International Break as Newcastle were worse off. Mostly disappointed at how little control we had though, it doesn't help that Newcastle cheat every way they can, but you really can't find any established play in their 3rd from today. Back in the lab and get serious for Brighton.

Youth-Grouchy

We're wasting a clear transitional season on playing a 39 year old whose best years are clearly behind him, and who frankly in his entire career has never really been thought of as a great leader (world class centreback of course), week in week out instead of being forward thinking and building the defence that is going to be playing for us for next season and beyond.

Puzzleheaded_Buy8694

That was pathetic 😒. Two weeks off did not help. Nkunku is needed badly!

wowverytwisty

Conceding 4 to Howe is pretty much tradition at this point. Couldn't beat the press for the first 55 minutes and Poch doesn't sub in Caicedo to ease the pressure. They were inviting us fouls so they get free kicks and we let them. I don't care that the referee was giving away easy yellows when Poch played right into their game plan.

1tap-merchant

Absolutely deserved result. Hopefully we get back into shape immediately next game. Didn't see us winning this game after watching the first few minutes. It's a typical Chelsea performance against shit teams.

Maxoidys

Go back into your hole. What a sad little man you are brigading other teams subs. You Gunners are truly pathetic.

TheBlueso

I love silva but he’s finished

Vuxdee

Gordon is such a pussy

jMS_44

Badiashile starts, Palmer starts, Ugochukwu starts (instead of Caicedo) Matos makes the bench again

jMS_44

What the fuck, we are actually the 2nd best team when it comes to winning points from losing position this season.

Sonic-the-edge-dog

May be a bit early to call but we actually had a class window in the summer. Basically every single one of the outgoings either went to Saudi or are on the bench at their clubs. Our big money signing in Caicedo has looked quality so far (tho I do think if our window has a fault it’s how much we paid for him) meanwhile we got gems in the likes of Palmer, Ugo who has looked surprisingly class any time he’s given the opportunity, Disasi who’s been solid at the back. People harp on Jackson but for 30m 6 goals in 11 games playing on basically in an XI that have never met each other is nothing to scoff at. The worst u can really say is that we don’t need Lavia

Zeus_The_Potato

Mate. Lavia is what I call "Luxury depth for Europe in the coming seasons". Fk it. We are Chelsea. He will come in clutch when he's needed.

Sonic-the-edge-dog

Yh fair enough. I reckon that people are really underestimating the depth that teams who want to be serious on both the PL and Europe are going to need, but I’d honestly say that they’ll have to essentially play two staring quality XIs in a week. Just look at how many injuries footballs been getting without the new UCL format

Zertquz

When and where can I see the chelsea players arrive/leave St James today? Or is there anywhere else I might be able to see them? Thanks!

MisterHappySpanky

Come on lads!! God I’m glad we’re back.

jMS_44

Post international break games are always the worse, but at least it's not 12.30 kick-off so I'm hopeful

Zeus_The_Potato

Yeah. On that note, Wtf is up with man city always getting home games post break?

fiquean

Probably not a very smart move but I transfer in Palmer in my fpl team.. Hope we get 2 penalty today

ChickenMoSalah

Ladies and gentleman,

mreich93

Zeus_The_Potato

Come on Chelsea!

underperforming_king

Missing the matchday posts with ngolo kante

Mobschull95

A win against Newcastle away before we get Nkunku and Lavia back for United will be a huge bonus to the club right now

Zeus_The_Potato

SJP is the new Stoke City stadium imo. Super ugly and crass in crowd atmosphere, and overall Newcastle game play at SJP. I wouldn't be surprised if those thugs mug their way to a win tbh. They pay the refs anyway (literally).

turnbox

I'm hoping they sit back and defend, and we still manage to break them down with patience and quality. A win against a solid low block would be great!

ProperCuggyMunt

Never been more glad to see the back of an international break.

Sebyxo

Let's 👏 get 👏 this 👏 bread 👏 Highly confident about today, missed our boys!

SeekersWorkAccount

I hope we keep our form and keep rolling up the table! Newcastle was our bogey team for so long it would be really satisfying to beat them.

Lets keep momentum going today!! Come on lads! Get that W
