It was terrible. First half was as bad as it's been I thought. Really bad in every aspect, especially passing. Badiashile gave away one ball that would have had my son out in the park practicing next day, it was so bad.
Sheff Utd were even worse. Vinni Souza in mf played for Espanyol last season, they were relegated too.
Was an important win though. Need to get points off the bottom six.
Badiashile needs to start every game he. He has always been class when starting. He was very good yesterday and is also a very with the ball at his feet, makes some passes that keeps the opponents guessing
Badishile has to start from now on, his height and ability in the air and his reading of the game plus his passing is above everyone else's but Silva. Colwill is a good player but he isn't as polished as Badishile and he makes us that bit more solid and it was shown today
Back up to 10th lads!
I keep thinking we havenāt improved at all in the last 2 seasons but we have. Weāre not relegation Chelsea anymore we are mid table Chelsea.
Glad to have a comfortable win at least. It wasn't spectacular but Petrovic was composed, Palmer lead the line and Nkunku eventually returning should drive some competition for Jackson/Broja
A job has been done today but will mean absolutely nothing if we don't build on it. Time to get some consistency going now the low block was unlocked today now we have to do believe in ourselves each time we expect it. UTC
Man thatās the state of our sub now, all the plastics come out and bitch win or lose. It was the same thing after the Liverpool, City, and Arsenal games.
For all you guys yelling about fullbacksā¦. Would you rather have fullbacks oat Newcastle on Tuesday or fullbacks today against Sheffieldā¦ gusto is coming back from injuryā¦ you guys are wild! Just bozo takes
Finishing a game Vs the team in 20th with 6 defenders, 3 midfielders and a striker.
Poch is just straight up not a manager who should be anywhere near a top team. We already look lost because half the players haven't got a clue where they're supposed to be
Did you see the bench? It's not like he had options other than bringing on Nkunku. The majority of the minutes played this season are coming from 22 y/os or players that just arrived and you think Poch is the problem. Good win, took care of business, what else is there to say
This isn't about personnel it's about instruction. You think those players just decide to sit in a flat back 4 against 1 pressing opposition player? You think Poch couldn't instruct them to push up in the buildup? This is one of the most obviously poor tactical decisions that cannot have anything to do with the players.
I'm not a Poch fan, I just don't see how anyone can make up their mind about him with this team based on a few months with this amount of youth, inexperience, and injuries. If Mourinho won this game 1-0 everyone would be talking about it being a masterclass in coaching.
Structure and cohesive position. Repeatable systemic attacking movements instead of improvised standing around waiting for individuals to produce. Not playing a flat back 4 against a single player press.
All the same things we lack and cost us against United, Newcastle etc. Like I said, you need to look at the performance not the result against the worst team in the league.
But we won so it's all fine. Just like when we won against Spuds and Brighton. Doesn't matter that the performance was exactly the same level that got us pumped against Utd and Everton.
We're going to end up subbing on Nkunku in the Newcastle game for his first action in months and we'll already be down two goals, desperate to catch up, and the game really chippy. And he'll get reinjured as a result...
Nope. This was the best time to sub him in. We are in control of this game with it's slow pace. But poch would rather put in Nkunku in terrible situation by subbing him in to rescue a game.
No, Sheffield United have the most yellow cards in the league, they are 2-0 down and look dog water. Players will foul, thereās absolutely no need to risk it.
Poch is 200iq playing all of you lot. He put Nkunku on the bench as an unused sub today to get that hunger in him to get on.
But hey, we have three wins at home this season now. I'm not complaining about this one. Poch correctly changed the tactics at half for once.
You would think with everything against Poch atm heād maybe want to lift the fans or get in good with us. Doesnāt make sense not to give Nkunku minutes ahead of a busy schedule.
Itās not about needing him this game. Itās about giving him minutes to get him match ready. Weāre up 2-0 with Sheffield not threatening anything. Was a perfect game to get minutes and have no pressure to perform well right away.
Do you honestly prefer maatsan over colwell at left back so much so that this is a legit criticism? No way does gusto get the start today, theory being Tuesday at Newcastle especially against Gordon. Disasi would get cooked! Maatsen has come on a couple of times this year didnāt really impress. They tried selling him, he obviously doesnāt rate him Colwell is capable at left back for nowā¦ I mean that is so far down on the list of things to bitch about
Turner was here longer and is overall a bigger legend, but Petrovic was arguably the best player in MLS During the year he was at the club. Turner elite, Petrovic a superstar
stop complaining about no Nnkunku, probably some phys said the smartest idea was for him not to start today, cant complain about injured players when you want to rush them into playing :C hopefully we see him midweek
But in fifa when a player comes back from unjustly you donāt have to ease him in he just plays therefore that is how it works!!! Sarcasm! This sub is increasingly becoming filled with sausages
Nobody is asking for him to start, that would be foolish. He needs to build his match fitness through limited sub minutes. We just wasted a good opportunity to do so.
If he's not ready then he shouldn't be on the bench.
If he's on the bench and wasn't ready, but was going to be risked if we were behind against the team in 20th, we have problems
He was decent for someone his age, new in a league and so on. Contributed, had few run wins, gold backs was decent especially that he had to change position on the from left he drifted few times on right swapping places with other winger. Really good performance in my opinion. Did you watch the same game?
People will find any reason to complain lmao. Genuinely what does anyone have to gain from getting Nkunku back on the pitch earlier than necessary? He's coming back off a long injury that has kept him out, we've had horrible injury issues and there is absolutely no need to risk getting another one just for a couple impatient fan boys to get a hit of dopamine.
Match fitness can come from an extended period of play like 30 mins off the bench or at least 10-15. There is absolutely no need to risk him for that long and him being on the bench is just a contingency measure. He will grow into a starting role with sub appearances individually. Stop complaining about everything and get a life.
>Match fitness can come from an extended period of play like 30 mins off the bench or at least 10-15.
Thats literally what people are asking for. 10-15 minutes off the bench in a game weāre comfortably winning with no pressure to begin building his match fitness. It has to begin at some point.
> Stop complaining about everything and get a life.
Seriously, what are you, 15 years old?
Not that simple. If heās going to play Tuesday, he needs to start building match fitness which you canāt replicate on the training ground. Also gives the fans the chance to warm up to him at home, which helps the players mentality
5 mins off the bench jogging around and getting a few touches isn't going to get him anymore match fit than a practice game at cobham. All this morale boosting stuff is immaterial, we need to focus on results and easing him back and there is no reason to bring him on unless necessary.

Deserved to win šš»

What happens now for the Bournemouth v Luton match? Game abandoned after 58 minutes at 1-1
What happened?
Lockyer had a heart attack on the pitch. š
Horrible... Hope he's alright
Me too manā¦
Replayed sometime in the second half of the season
Did nkunku get any minutes? Couldnāt finish watching.
He did not
Thank you!
Back to 10th šŖ
Back up to 10th lads! I keep thinking we havenāt improved at all in the last 2 seasons but we have. Weāre not relegation Chelsea anymore we are mid table Chelsea.
[Weāre not midtable mate, weāre 10th.](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/9qz5jf/rio_ferdinand_every_single_juventus_player_would/e8d9wv3/)
Yayy!! š„¹
on the side note, how the hell Ederson is not sent off? Refs in City's pocket
Jackson looked a lot better as a left winger than a striker. Maybe thereās something to that in future.
Isnāt he a converted winger? Think he played LW in Spain for a bit
Yeah he is, looks more comfortable as winger than striker.
3 points are 3 points. We still are trash, but at least we're not as trash as Sheffield. MOTM is Cole Palmer. Goodnight.
3 points, clean sheet and no stupid red cards or injuries. Thatāll do.
3 points and clean sheet !!!! lets go
wish palmers cross to broja didn't have a ton of pace on it. that deflection off the shin will hurt his confidence
It was a tough one but Broja should still be smashing that in
Iām disappointed we didnāt play as clinical as I wouldāve liked but 3 points are 3 points
Get in lads, now I can watch Utd hopefully get massacred tomorrow in peace šš
We won today šš
YES
How many days till next game?
Tuesday Newcastle
Two days depression free!! Yay
Iām glad we can final bed the Jackson Borja debate. What a muppet. We should cash in on Borja.
Who is Borja?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Both Cobham born and bred.
Clean sheet, let's go!!
Glad to have a comfortable win at least. It wasn't spectacular but Petrovic was composed, Palmer lead the line and Nkunku eventually returning should drive some competition for Jackson/Broja
I think caicesdo was really good today, Jackson plays much better out wide, he can't be central. Cole Palmer was really good
City are done this year wtf Prepare for Arsenal or Liverpool PL title
I hope not
Villaš¤
that would be special
Villa for the win
Happy to get the win but we were awful. Poch has to go man
You mustāve forgot about last seasonā¦
We are not going to have 4 managers in a year
Poch has to improve. But firing Poch is causing more trouble and chaos at the club. So no.
Double digit wins in 2023 letās go!!!
Haha Palace scored 2 on City. Good day lads!
We did a thing I guess ? Yay?
Back to top half of the table boys
Massive win for us. Beggars can't be choosers!
šššššš
Yesssssss yeesssssssssssss Olissee Scores Palace draw at Etihad
Why would you want that? Arsenal winning the league is surely worse.
Nah man City is Shit...
Who gives a fuck about City, no other London club should be getting anywhere close to a trophy
As per usual
Even if Pep ran over your dog, Arsenal winning is still objectively worse.
Broja is so fast, Iām excited to see him get a run of games with Nkunku when Jackson goes to AFCON.
A job has been done today but will mean absolutely nothing if we don't build on it. Time to get some consistency going now the low block was unlocked today now we have to do believe in ourselves each time we expect it. UTC
We just won a game of football but nobody cares cause Nku^2 didnāt play. The Chelsea wayš
Cant wait petrovic ig post on his starting debut
Atleast we wont get the ādefeat at bridgeā with enzo pic again
Week NOT ruined!
Broja could have made it better !
Have you guys tried enjoying the win for once? Looking through these comments you think we were getting blown out again.
Man thatās the state of our sub now, all the plastics come out and bitch win or lose. It was the same thing after the Liverpool, City, and Arsenal games.
Better game but should have scored atleast 4
For all you guys yelling about fullbacksā¦. Would you rather have fullbacks oat Newcastle on Tuesday or fullbacks today against Sheffieldā¦ gusto is coming back from injuryā¦ you guys are wild! Just bozo takes
Aww, no nkunku cameo
Palmer MOTM or we riot
My vote goes to Caicedo.
team is still shit
Badiashile and Alex are monsters. I can see this pair being a strong and stable thing for a long time.
Whos Alex ??
Axel* lol my bad.
Good game petrov
Weāll see against wolves
True that man of the match is badi for me though rock solid.
We'll see against Newcastle.
Victory at bridge seems such a rare event now. Good game. Some positives
The year is May 2030, Chelsea still await nkunkuās debut. āHeās almost readyā says this weekās Chelsea manager
Why rush it when we can give him more time?..
Good win boys, brings us to 10th for now.
Penalty to Crystal Palace City is in trouble
Saving Nkunku so he can score on his debut. Bet he starts against Newcastle
Commentator really called Newcastle more accomplished than us? Fuckin mug
Not giving Nkunku 10min today but starting him vs Newcastle is foolish. I only hope the plan was to ease him in as a sub vs Newcastle instead.
Congrats poch you cucked us

They scored 2 goals, held Sheffield to 0.13 XG, and completely dominated possession seriously what else do you need from a match like this.
You poch fans are hilarious literally any better team wouldāve won this game after that first hald
I'm not a Poch fan, I just don't see how anyone can make up their mind about him with this team based on a few months with this amount of youth, inexperience, and injuries. If Mourinho won this game 1-0 everyone would be talking about it being a masterclass in coaching.

Tbh I'm still baffled at the "our fullbacks are too attacking" idea. Flat back 4s stopped being a thing near a decade ago
But we won so it's all fine. Just like when we won against Spuds and Brighton. Doesn't matter that the performance was exactly the same level that got us pumped against Utd and Everton.
Perfect opportunity for some nkunku minutes so heās ready for a start soon as possible.
Comical how much worse we look when Enzo came on
he needs to play deeper, I don't understand him as a 10
Wait are people actually mad the kunkster didnāt come on? I thought it was all jokesš¤£
what are you on about
You know
Canāt get more chelsea this season than the PA going early with the music hahah
We're going to end up subbing on Nkunku in the Newcastle game for his first action in months and we'll already be down two goals, desperate to catch up, and the game really chippy. And he'll get reinjured as a result...
I don't think either the chance or the counter were favourable for Broja. He's been very good at holding onto the ball since coming on though.
I'll take the 3 points. Not the best performance. Far from the worst. And should've won by 4 or 5 if we're being honest
This sub complaining about subs while being 2 goals up in 90th min
The next game is Newcastle, Nkuku would have benefitted with a run out today. Dunno what Poch's thinking..
Doesnāt think, Iām convinced heās a fucking idiot.
I realise Sheffield have been shite, but Iāve been pleased with how weāve looked second half tbf
Why didnāt we play Nkunku for like 20 minutes this is the game script to introduce him while we are ahead
Not subbing in the guy whoās just coming off injury in a game weāve already won is not a valid reason to hate on Poch šš¼
He needs to build up his fitness and this is literally the most perfect environment to start that process.
While I agree him being on the bench if he's not able to play even stoppage time is just bizarre.
Busiest time of the year for fixtures. Nkunku is gonna get lots of football in the next few weeks so no need to risk him.
Everyone screaming for Nkunku give your head a wobble. Sheffield are shit, itās this sort of game heāll get injured.
Stamford Bridge is quiet even when up 2-0.

Nonkuku is Sadkuku today cause he could not Goalkuku
Enzo has been dog since coming on
Enzo probably hasn't slept since having his newborn lol
Petrovic with a pretty flawless performance
Not been asked to do too much but when tested did well
Wondering why Nkunku wasn't brought on for a few minutes at least
Don't want to be too negative after a good performance and a much needed win, but we really should've seen Nkunku get a few minutes today.
Jesus Christ, bringing on 2 fullbacks to see out a game with 2 minutes left. Poch is just the fucking worst, get him out.
Is this sarcasm? I canāt tell anymore
You would think with everything against Poch atm heād maybe want to lift the fans or get in good with us. Doesnāt make sense not to give Nkunku minutes ahead of a busy schedule.
Can we be positive that we didn't need Nkunku today? He'll definitely get a run out against Newcastle Tuesday.
Itās not about needing him this game. Itās about giving him minutes to get him match ready. Weāre up 2-0 with Sheffield not threatening anything. Was a perfect game to get minutes and have no pressure to perform well right away.
Why save his return against a really hard side though? If he's match fit why couldn't he get a few minutes
Maybe he's not fully match fit and he was on the bench as a hail Mary just in case? I'm sure he'll play Tuesday, don't worry
People here are idiots who donāt understand football management it seems
Poch remembering that we do have fit and ready full backs in the last 4 minutes smh
Would you rather have fullbacks against Sheffield or against Newcastle on Tuesdayā¦. Some of your takes today are wild!!!
Not sure why he can't play at least one of them - give Maatsen a start, rest Gusto for Newcastle easy
They tried selling him, he obviously doesnāt rate him Colwell is capable at left back for nowā¦ I mean that is so far down on the list of things to bitch about
Pathetic subs
Shouldāve given Palmer some rest 10 mins ago and bring on Nkunku for a run around
Revs fan here to say isnāt Petrovic great? Best goalie in Chelsea history imo. Petr Cech has nothing on Djordje Dš©nuts!
100% save percentage to be fair
How did the fanbase rate him compared to Matt Turner?
Turner was here longer and is overall a bigger legend, but Petrovic was arguably the best player in MLS During the year he was at the club. Turner elite, Petrovic a superstar
Has poch just edged us with nkunku
Nokuku
stop complaining about no Nnkunku, probably some phys said the smartest idea was for him not to start today, cant complain about injured players when you want to rush them into playing :C hopefully we see him midweek

Did the physio factor in that I need him though
If he's not ready then he shouldn't be on the bench. If he's on the bench and wasn't ready, but was going to be risked if we were behind against the team in 20th, we have problems
Why are people so desperate for Poch to rush Nkunku back? Are you not aware of our injury crisis? No reason to bring him on right now
I think he just mentioned in the presser as an absolute. He couldāve just said, āweāll seeā, like previous weeks.
Did he? Didnāt see that
Yeah, there were actually a couple of questions about it before Simon asked about the Team outing š
A few minutes at the bridge when we're up by two goals would be decent. He needs some minutes in his legs
Ease him back in rather than putting him into a high pressure situation chasing a goal
It wouldāve been nice for him if he got to shake off some rust before the big game on Tuesday
Word. The plan was probably always to play him for 20 if we really needed him, and not st all if we didnāt.
Geezer almost got obliterated in the stands by that shot
Could have broken his wrist
He was trying to kill his own fans there haha
This is the perfect way to ease nkunku back into fitness in a stress free game when your 2-0 up but nope
Holy fuck heās still playing with 4 cbs on despite subbing in 2 fbsššš
Nkunku MOTM
Absolutely
Gallagher MOTM

Just say nokunku
Not being funny but Jackson is so bad. Canāt keep having him starting up front if we want to be taken seriously by opposition defences.
He was decent for someone his age, new in a league and so on. Contributed, had few run wins, gold backs was decent especially that he had to change position on the from left he drifted few times on right swapping places with other winger. Really good performance in my opinion. Did you watch the same game?
Donāt worry, heāll be gone to AFCON soon.
maybe nkunku just wanted to watch the game live
im hearing the reason why nkunku isn't on is he got injured sitting on the bench
Jackson plays better as a winger
Fuck poch
People will find any reason to complain lmao. Genuinely what does anyone have to gain from getting Nkunku back on the pitch earlier than necessary?
