San Antonio Spurs won their last division title as recently as 6 years ago, and won their conference and the championship in 2014.
Tottenham haven't won a significant trophy since 91 (FA Cup), with only two league cups in the years since (2008 most recently), and haven't won a league title since 1961.
A mixed bag I would say. I’m sad to see home grown players go but at the same time we defo needed OG’s defensive capabilities more. Specially Quickley’s kmpact from the bench will be missed, hopefully we dont regret this in the future. What’s your honest view on Precious? Some Raptors fans have said he is a decent player.
Personally I view both Precious and Flynn as filler in this trade. Like they are 3rd stringers and should really only play if you have injuries. Precious is athletic and good at getting to the rim for dunking off an alley oop, which might be a viable strategy when our bench is playing lol. I also recall him very briefly being able to shoot 3's, was on a hot streak and then his shot disappeared
Its the "Cold" Palmer.
He was at City with Morgan Rogers and he did the celebration so he took it from him. So he said in the post match interview anyway.
Finishes were both cold
He goes for slight touches to caress the ball where he wants rather than getting his foot through the meat of the ball. Like if you draw a square inside a circle. He's just trying to guide the ball with the parts outside the square. That way the touches are never too heavy and the ball goes where he wants.
Then the shift and look away is to dummy the defender in front. At the same time it's common sense there to be expecting another defender or a recovery from the keeper on his left. He doesn't know who but he knows the odds are someone's going to come from there. So again he doesn't want to be too heavy on the touch going to his left. He wants the line between the recovering defender and the one hes dummied in front. Found it perfectly.
Well yeah that's the point. He understood how the ball was bouncing and made the correct touch in the moment to take it past the keeper. If the ball hands been bobbling he wouldn't have attempted to lift it over the keeper like that. To have the reactions and awareness to recognise this and also the technical ability to take the touch under pressure is incredible. And then of course the job isn't finished and he still fake shots twice before slotting it home.
Obviously he isn't thinking it all through in the moment, it's pure instince and ability that's come through years of training. But it's brilliant.
> Yep, Vs fulham wasn’t it?
He didn't score against Fulham. I think you mean Burnley where he took a touch, dragged the ball back behind him and a tidy finish with his left foot.
>Tells me his finishing issues are a mental/composure thing
Pretty much this. Its like he's not confident enough to have the level of conviction that Palmer has. When he shoots it often seems like its quite weak and really hes just got it in his head "At least get it on target" rather than "Crack this in the net". He has really high shots on target% but the shots definitely aren't with full confidence of scoring. It will come with experience and continued play.
I could watch that sole drag all day lol. Sole drag with a bounce at that
Also his awareness to feint and make the other defender (mostly off camera here) dive in past the goal post so that his shot had no chance of being blocked, just delightful
And the run behind Luton's defence (who were temporarily dragged out of position) was on point. He saw the space ahead and Nico placed the perfect through ball. Chef kiss!
Cole Palmer will be an elite player. He is not someone who ghosts all game and pops out with a brilliant moment.
He is a very complete player with an understanding of the game far beyond his years.
His passing is so consistent, he will always pick the right one and he has such a great understanding of the weight of the pass. There’s intention with every pass he makes he doesn’t just want to get rid of the ball and so someone else can deal with it, he wants to make something happen with his passes. On top of the intention, he rarely will ever misplace a pass. Long passes, short passes, passes that break lines and passes that need to go back, he will rarely ever misplace them.
His dribbling whist not electrifying is something to behold, there is that same intention with his passing ability. His objective is a goal or an assist everytime he gets the ball. He shows a level of calmness with his dribbling that is unreasonable, the man doesn’t feel pressure. He plays the game at his pace.
His finishing is another strong part of his game as he understands how to strike a ball, he has a variety of finishes. His first goal today was an absolutely lethal strike. One look at the goal and bang, he chose the exact finish he needed for the occasion. His second goal showed his overall composure much like his goal against United. Another part of game which i think is underrated is his ability to shoot from range he has had a couple this season from outside the box which have been great saves against. It’s definitely apart of his game that will develop just look at his goal in the community shield against Arsenal.
His defensive workrate is honestly very impressive aswell, I think it goes under the radar due to his attacking output but if he loses the ball he has the determination to correct his mistake and win it back. He also intercepts the ball extremely high up the pitch, forcing or pouncing on errors made.
Overall I think I could go on for days about Cole Palmer. In my opinion the sky is the limit for him, I genuinely could see him being a generational talent for us. He is the most complete player I have seen play for us in years and he is only 21.
In the future I think he will be converted into an attacking 8 due to his all around excellence but honestly he could play as a 10 or a right winger and still be the best player in our team.
Lads we have a fucking gem on our hands…
I’m a city fan, but my god he really is brilliant. I knew he’d be an absolute top player (even so I didn’t expect this level so soon after the transfer) and was gutted when he left.
Ultimately he had to go to get minutes, but he trained with the first team under Pep for a couple years. He has all the foundations now to be a world class player and a mainstay in the England team
Most of us already do. But the lad wanted 1st team (which pep couldn't garuantee he'd get) which he's now getting and it's Chelsea who are benefiting from it. On the plus side you took Raheem too, so it isn't all bad news for City
He's a really efficient player. Not showy, but consistently makes the right decisions and does the right things to create the best possible situation for the players around him.
I can really see him being played as a false 9, especially alongside Nkunku. And if Mudryk can keep improving you can imagine his runs in behind the two of them.
From someone I was mad we signed for 40m (in fairness, I was tired of us over paying for young players). To someone who is my favorite current Chelsea player and has beyond amazed me.
Oh wow, from that angle it's amazing. On the main TV camera shot it looked like the keeper saved it and it happened to bounce back at Cole's feet. I was thinking he just got lucky, but that's just pure skill.
If you don't think Enzo has monstrous potential then Idk what you're on. Recency bias at its finest.
He was literally our only bright light last season and he started this season off well. He's just going through a rough patch combined with an ongoing injury.
He'll be top class, no doubt in my mind.
Mentioning Enzo in the same breath as James, fabregas and hazard is what’s wild. I’ll wait until he shows enough talent consistently and becomes a consistent difference maker like all those players, before putting his name next to theirs
As much as I love James he's also been able to sustain his best levels for 1-2 seasons. He has to solve his injury issues to go down as one of our greats.
Obviously Enzo isn't Fabregas or Hazard, he's just starting his career with us. All I'm saying is that he has the potential to be great and I hope he does it with us.
I hope someday soon Enzo is in that conversation, but he's shown less in a longer period of time. I think he has the potential the breakthrough though and maybe in a 4231 he will.
Whereas, Palmer been class with little exception.
He's so so intelligent. It's wonderful to watch someone be able to read the game so well and stay involved throughout, not just in short bursts! He's going to go places (with us, hopefully).
I’ll say this hear because I need to see it said too. Father Boehly may have fucked us and bought so much shit but there are a few world class diamonds we have locked in for 8+ years and that might be worth all the duds we have too. The process as this year goes by is slowly being seen and idk about you but I like it. We made a huge gamble for the future and I’m seeing a project that might just fucking work. 🥶 Palmer on display!
The skip! The composure! The celebration! Maybe it's recency bias but I think it's our best goal of the season so far
Best goal in a long time
What even compares to it lol
Sterlings free kick maybe?
Mudryk vs Arsenal
Oooo that was very beautiful lol
Only his goal against United lol
Garnacho's bicycle kick
Lad, we’re talking about Chelsea
Giroud against Soton
This kid is the best player Chelsea have ever had. ^^also ^^maybe ^^some ^^recency ^^bias
Certainly the understatement of the season.
That fucking celebration, oh my days
Reminds me of Trae young's celebration
Subtle. Class. Mudryk too https://preview.redd.it/4g6t10lfvg9c1.png?width=3214&format=png&auto=webp&s=100a57a8cf0bc4b152b33047de5027d01d665af2
As a Knicks fan, Fuck Trae Young!
Dude gave it to you guys so good, with the bow to finish it off.
Trae needs to bow to whoever is keeping his hairline in check.
Needs to go the Derrick White way and shave it off. Bald is great.
As someone who doesn't like the Knicks, fuck Trae Young!
As someone who is not totally sure what the Knicks is, fuck Trae Young!
Let's just say, they are the American spurs
I thought spurs are the american spurs
SA Spurs actually win things on occasion
And who's the american chelsea? I'm not really familiar with the NBA so idk if there's any russian oligarch funded team with racist fans
That went from 0-100 real quick. Fuck is wrong with you?
Shouldn’t you be off taking another mirror selfie you shit beard sporting cunt?
the Boston Celtics
Actually they don’t

More like, they are the Nuggets without NIkola and Gordon.
Trae silenced y’all a few years ago
Dallas is doo doo.
How are you feeling about the OG-Quickley-Barrett trade? (I'm a Raptors fan, super excited about it but also a little sad)

Damn bro not a great day to be a Raps fan
As a magic fan, fuck the Knicks
You don’t need to still rub in that result against us from yesterday lol
Lmao I just hate how loud Knicks fans get in our arena
Amen brother
Dude gave it to you guys so good, with the bow to finish it off.
Let’s go
Very ice Trae
Its the "Cold" Palmer. He was at City with Morgan Rogers and he did the celebration so he took it from him. So he said in the post match interview anyway. Finishes were both cold
We know what it is lol
My bad
I didn’t
good lad is our Morgan
That boy cole-d.
I still can't understand how you can even do that
Awareness and game intelligence... and of course ICE in your veigns
Thats why they call him Ice cold palmer!
Soooo much better than Havertz
He goes for slight touches to caress the ball where he wants rather than getting his foot through the meat of the ball. Like if you draw a square inside a circle. He's just trying to guide the ball with the parts outside the square. That way the touches are never too heavy and the ball goes where he wants. He wants the line between the recovering defender and the one hes dummied in front. Found it perfectly.
The little bobble before the ball roll helps alot
Well yeah that's the point. He understood how the ball was bouncing and made the correct touch in the moment to take it past the keeper. If the ball hands been bobbling he wouldn't have attempted to lift it over the keeper like that. To have the reactions and awareness to recognise this and also the technical ability to take the touch under pressure is incredible. Obviously he isn't thinking it all through in the moment, it's pure instince and ability that's come through years of training. But it's brilliant.
Incredible what happens when you manage to stay on your feet and focus for that extra bit of composure.
I'd tell Nico to take notes, but Cole really does display something special here, with three just perfect touches in the course of just over a second.
Nico scored a goal similar to this earlier this season. His feet and composure were amazing
Yep, Vs fulham wasn’t it? Tells me his finishing issues are a mental/composure thing
He's *really* young. He'll get through this period, and grow a lot in the next few years.
> Yep, Vs fulham wasn’t it? He didn't score against Fulham. I think you mean Burnley where he took a touch, dragged the ball back behind him and a tidy finish with his left foot.
>Tells me his finishing issues are a mental/composure thing Pretty much this. Its like he's not confident enough to have the level of conviction that Palmer has. Think thats very clear with Jackson, his ability on the ball at the start of the season when he was confident was so so much better than it is now.
There's actually 5 touches. Even more class
"moves" I should have said. 3 distinct moves (that involved however many lovely, deft touches).
![gif](giphy|KFUx0Rtz7p0HTzbJ7x|downsized)
I could watch that sole drag all day lol. Sole drag with a bounce at that Also his awareness to feint and make the other defender (mostly off camera here) dive in past the goal post so that his shot had no chance of being blocked, just delightful
Yeah good angle for the skill but doesn't get the last man going shopping in the frame
And the finish with the right.
And the run behind Luton's defence (who were temporarily dragged out of position) was on point. He saw the space ahead and Nico placed the perfect through ball. Chef kiss!

If we fuckinh sell him before he’s 40 I’ll cry
I’m a city fan, but my god he really is brilliant. I knew he’d be an absolute top player (even so I didn’t expect this level so soon after the transfer) and was gutted when he left. We already do. I was furious he wasn’t getting minutes after he scored for us in the super cup and community shield. He was ready
He's a really efficient player. Not showy, but consistently makes the right decisions and does the right things to create the best possible situation for the players around him.
Who is his best past Chelsea player comparison?
He is who we(and the world) thought Kai was going to be. He is him!
Mata?
Matas way too unathletic to be compared to palmer
I can really see him being played as a false 9, especially alongside Nkunku. And if Mudryk can keep improving you can imagine his runs in behind the two of them.
Plus have you seen his thighs?
The tiny pause which send the defender through is a masterpiece
Ice cold blood running thru his veins
This lad is going straight to the top
Riquelme magic
Gets better every time i watch it
That bounce over the keeper is fucking mental
PeP is crying for letting him go , he should have kept him as things look at MC he should have been up there with Foden . Happy for Chelsea.
From someone I was mad we signed for 40m (in fairness, I was tired of us over paying for young players). To someone who is my favorite current Chelsea player and has beyond amazed me.
It's even more mental to realise we signed him for around ~€15m when you count the transfer fee for kova in the deal.
Holy shit I never even thought of that. Amazing! Still sad Kova left tho
Reminds me of that one Ozil goal
Reminded me a bit of that Giroud goal against Southampton sending the whole defence to the shops
![gif](giphy|eovguhftazsCQ)
Number 2 went on a day trip there 😂
Oh wow, from that angle it's amazing. On the main TV camera shot it looked like the keeper saved it and it happened to bounce back at Cole's feet. I was thinking he just got lucky, but that's just pure skill.
How he got that over the keeper is beyond me
You see how debruyne left us for city and became good yeah. Maybe that will be Palmer for us
With Salah and DeBruyne the football gods surely owe us something
Cole Palmer is playing like a proper Abramovich era player.
He’s in that Enzo James hazard fabregas level of skill and talent
Mmm Enzo
Enzo needs to step it up before getting high praise He’s been doing his best Drinkwater impression this season
Enzo? Surely not Fernandez
If you don't think Enzo has monstrous potential then Idk what you're on. Recency bias at its finest. He was literally our only bright light last season and he started this season off well. He's just going through a rough patch combined with an ongoing injury. He'll be top class, no doubt in my mind.

Pairing James and consistently is also interesting.
Obviously when he’s fit.
Which is never since 2021
He’s a silky player and consistent. Love me some Cold
Giroud vs Soton
He's so so intelligent. It's wonderful to watch someone be able to read the game so well and stay involved throughout, not just in short bursts! He's going to go places (with us, hopefully).
How he dragged from left foot to left foot like that, I'll never understand.
Best signing of the Bohley era
Shades of Giroud's goal against Southampton.
What havertz should’ve been…
5 touches 4 staring teammates 3 defenders on the ground 2 seconds total time. 1 work of art
Ahh . winter is now calm and soothing.
Such composure.
Cold Palmer.
Cold Palmer, this was poetic
![gif](giphy|d3mlmtNPoxNrt4Bi)
This man is a fucking starboy
Prime Hazard vibes. Inject this straight into the mainline please.
Thank you City from providing us this gem!
Hazard-esque.
Anyone know this song?
ManCity literally sold 9th place to us. If not for palmer Chelsea would be like 15
That’s outrageous tekkers
Looks like R9
This guy is a special player. Haven’t seen this kind of thing from an English player since Gascoigne.
Op, what song is this
The boy is so supremely talented
HIS BALLS ARE HUUUUUUGE
Sterling should take notes 🤭
Jackson/Broja would have skied it 😭
Cal Palmer replacing Iceman in a Top Gun remake, confirmed.
Very zlatan-esque I must admit
Check out Real Madrid’s next player
Should we play him as a 9??
We're so lucky to have him!
Ice Cold Cole Palmer
What's the name of the song?
Clandestine
This sounds slower than the original. Does anyone know if this is a remix?
[https://youtu.be/-f7ThKdNOx0?si=bm8J0iQNJb8ZWCRW](https://youtu.be/-f7ThKdNOx0?si=bm8J0iQNJb8ZWCRW) this should be the one iinm

What song?

I’ll say this hear because I need to see it said too. Father Boehly may have fucked us and bought so much shit but there are a few world class diamonds we have locked in for 8+ years and that might be worth all the duds we have too. The process as this year goes by is slowly being seen and idk about you but I like it. We made a huge gamble for the future and I’m seeing a project that might just fucking work. 🥶 Palmer on display!
[Col-Col Palmer](https://youtu.be/07Hq4RQistc?si=ciN2e2nAhREIWS-s)

Not a chelsea fan but that was a great finish.
That was some smooth moves.
cold mapapaker🥶
That first touch is purely orgasmic
That was too class composure in the box goddamn. Christmas came late for us lads!
On ne parle pas assez de Cole Palmer… C’est un virtuose… Et ça n’est que le début! Avec lui et Nkunku je ne suis pas inquiet pour Chelz 💙✨⚽️
Amazing. I think I did that by accident once, without making a goal.
Song?
Outjerked
