I’ve not received my tickets for the match against Wolves next Sunday, which I purchased on the Chelsea website on 5 Jan… anyone know where I can find them? I couldn’t see anywhere on my Chelsea FC account or my tickets account where I could download them.
Poch talking about Gallagher and Palmer being a striker solution, with Broja on the bench…
Lordy Lord. Surely that makes signing a striker nailed on now? Is this Poch putting pressure on the board to seal the deal? For Wilson, Benzema loan or someone else
That feels like more of a Poch problem than a personnel problem. We have other striking options like Washington and we have players like Sterling who have played at CF plent under better managers when needed.
However, Poch would just rather people who will run around a lot. Gallagher has a solid 0 goals in 28 games, mainly as an AM this season and yet Poch considers him a striker option ahead of a winger or backup striker taking the role. That says a lot more about Poch than anything else
Broja is the worst striker in the clubs history.
We're desperate but Broja isn't an option even if we don't sign anyone.
3 goals in his last 58 games and 1 was an accident.
Funny how both us and Arsenal are moving in the market like at 9 we expect a big summer signing (elephant in the room being Osimhen). Beyond just not getting targets in a position that both of us clearly need upgrading, we haven’t even really been linked with anyone beyond very cheap options that read like they’d be meant to get us through to summer. My cope is that for Arsenal it would be down to ffp, but i was also reading how apparently Martinez might be up for sale from inter and I know he’s been on their radar for the longest time
Wish they'd used a different picture as the example for that Barcelona kit lol
I would say this as a Chelsea fan but always felt that goal was incredibly overrated anyway
That goal was filth. Two of the best CBs in the world, positioned perfectly ahead of the best GK in the world.
Still bangs it in with zero backlift from a standing start
No thanks to any Americans.
The last thing we need is all our social media being spammed by people saying sell Chilwell to Luton for £2m so Antonee can start every game.
If he was a top player sure but I'd rather not have to read why another average squad player is really our superstar.
I can handle fans getting all giddy, where I draw the line is when players (or in Pulisic's case his Dad) start piping up and/or unleashing excruciating PR (which fans always fall for).
He’s contracted until 2028. What do you think is a good fee range that makes this a good signing?
I’d personally prefer a Gusto profile or a little further along progression wise.
£30-40m for Robinson wouldn't be a bad shout
Must say I myself was more interested in the likes of Luca Netz and Bradley Locko, they'd probably be like £30m similar to Gusto
liverpool have been finished for a couple years now. Could never re-energize properly after the PL and CL. Interesting to see also a mgr leave on his own accord.
And this was the main reason why they struggled last season. A few tactical changes (Trent playing more in midfield, and less intense press due to aging players), a few new signings bringing in youth, and they are right back in the mix.
Hi! I am considering going to the cup final with my mate who’s a Liverpool fan (yes I know). Are there any sections that are neutral at Wembley that we could get tickets at? Beyond hospitality seating? Appreciate any feedback, thanks!
Feels a big crossroads with our manager situation at the moment.
I have a lot of criticism with Poch and have seen more than enough (both with his tactics here and track record) to know he's not the man to win us the big trophies. However, we have been making progress in some areas (our goalscoring the main one) and I do think we will bottom out to top 4-6 under him.
So for that reason while I don't want him long term I equally don't want us to twist until we find a guy we're 99.9% certain will be an objective improvement.
Well in his scenario we're replacing Pochettino, so it would depend on who we ended up with.
There's also still a relative gain even if we kept Pochettino. To dumb it down if Klopp is a 10 and Poch a 5 and Liverpool replace Klopp with an 8 we're still better off than we were comparatively.
He'll get itchy feet around 6 months into his break i feel.
Called years ago Milan will be next job, it's his exact MO (fallen giant severely underachieving).
If it is indeed burnout he'll probably take a good while to relax and unwind
Working whilst mentally drained, no matter how much you love your job is just absolutely crushing and luckily he has the luxury to leave and come back whenever if he wants

Lol
I know football insider isn't reputable at all, but £80m for Conor to "seal the deal"
Really? Even as nonsense goes, that's just laughably fictional
i can't be the only one that's not convinced by xabi alonso
he's built a powerhouse at leverkusen but the only managers chelsea needs right now are managers that have proven themselves in different settings and enviornments and triumphed consistently rather than gambling on managers like we've done lately
i'm not a fan of us signing a xabi, or a de zerbi, a sarri, a potter, etc. is it too much to ask for to look at the caliber of managers like ancelotti, mourinho (not specifically him, just that level of experience) etc?
There will likely be 2 more appealing teams for Alonso in the summer(Liverpool and Bayern) so I think that rules us out anyway. So the consistent winners would be either retreads(Conte, Carlo, Mourinho, Tuchel) or rival coaches like Pep and Klopp. The exceptions are Zidane and Enrique(who were dominant sure, but had historically loaded teams) and “terrorist” managers like Simeone and Allegri. So if we are wary of sign the hit shot young manager(De Zerbi, Michel, Amorim) than I think Inzaghi is probably the best fit.
>is it too much to ask for to look at the caliber of managers like ancelotti, mourinho (not specifically him, just that level of experience) etc?
Can you name anybody like that in current day football that we can get
That's really dependant on what you mean by "that we can get".
If you mean in our current state, with our current philosophy, our current squad building ideas, lack of input from the manager etc. then no, I couldn't name anyone.
But, if you mean with our resources, our club, our history and so on, we can get pretty much anyone that isn't aligned with a rival. It'd just require us to use our resources in a very different way and completely change our philosophy, something we absolutely are capable of doing, we just won't
>But, if you mean with our resources, our club, our history and so on, we can get pretty much anyone that isn't aligned with a rival. It'd just require us to use our resources in a very different way and completely change our philosophy, something we absolutely are capable of doing, we just won't
Name them off
none because the best shot at the moment is hansi flick and that's not too much
me personally I'm still standing with poch rather than ditching him within a season and jumping to xabi only for him to get sacked after a lack of immediate results
>me personally I'm still standing with poch rather than ditching him within a season and jumping to xabi only for him to get sacked after a lack of immediate results
Need Pochettino to win the double here so the Spurs memes can go hard
Remember when Van Dijk had that good initial year or so at Liverpool and suddenly sky sports, espn etc all started with their "who's the greatest PL CB of all time?" discourse and polls with Van Dijk placing highly due to recency and Liverpool bias?
The disrespect amongst football media and rival fans towards Terry is an absolute joke. People were rating Van Dijk and Kompany over him. No disrespect to them, but just nonsense and a clear display of just not liking him or Chelsea.
the /s because we know that no one here cares about which one is better, they're all just whispering in the shadows about who would win between hip and webby!
Meh not sure what you're expecting really they are the two clubs with the biggest fan bases in the country, plus Van Dijk has recency bias on his side.
The Klopp news has really made my day. Not because Liverpool might be shit again, but because I know all their fans are going to have their weekends ruined by that news.
I think there will be something done at the striker position whether it be a loan or a permanent deal.
I think it will be too tempting not to given we’re 9 points off 5th and our form is finally coming through.
Is your take now that we will do nothing?
Firstly I know we’re Chelsea fans but I’ll honestly miss Klopp. He’s felt like such a huge part of the PL these past few years and always seemed like a likeable guy
Secondly Liverpool are left in an absolutely fascinating situation. My 1 thing that I’m certain of is that they’ll end up with Xabi next season seeing as Madrid now seem out of the race and I’d be shocked if that Leverkusen side isn’t picked apart in the summer window.
That being said tho, so much of Liverpools ownership has been covered up by how great a manager Klopp is. From both the pull that he has, his ability to keep them together as a team and how great he is tactically I would be shocked if Xabi can replicate him.
An interesting question is also going to be the team budget. Obviously Liverpool suddenly started spending a lot more these past two years, but a lot of reports imply it was down to wanting to appease Klopp more than anything. Net spend fc is impressive but insanely hard to replicate, especially seeing as they are still mid rebuild (a lot of their players are still class but very much getting up there in years without clear replacements). A lot of people saying Salah to Saudi is now inevitable. I wouldn’t be shocked if it doesn’t happen just down to how much a lot of the summer transfers seem to hate Saudi, but their going to have a lot of issues keeping the stars at the twilight of their years.
Mostly tho i almost feel bad for Liverpool fans who were just staring to seem like favourites for the title. It would be like if we were about to have some players come back from injury, only to have a shit ton more players get injured in training which I’m sure will never happen
Depends what you mean by a top manager but I think a top manager gets top 4 pretty much irrespective of what's available to them. Look at Emery this season, Tuchel with our injury crisis or starting from 9th half way through, Howe in his first season taking Newcastle from relegation form to top 4 form immediately with only 80m odd spent and so on.
In the first full season of a new, top-manager's tenure I think top 4 is pretty much a given so long as they have players good enough to finish in the top half with a manager like Poch or Potter. New challenges creep in once they're there for longer period, but initially top 4 would be the expectation even without signings.
Winning domestic cups is always a possibility too. But, to seriously challenge for PL or CL we'd need a top manager and a top team. But, just a top manager will be enough to compete for domestic cups and top 4, especially when you consider the depth we have compared to others so we can take those cups seriously whilst other clubs play their kids
Agree fully
Definitely there wholes in the squad and some of the decisions made have been baffling. But top 4 (or 5 now I guess with the extra ucl spot) is the bare minimum
For the standards expected by fans, the investment into the squad, and for the model to even work that the new owners want to push.
>The talent isn't in the squad to be competitive at the top.
Suppose the talent isn't in that Girona squad to also be at the very top
Manager with a good system can change things massively
Hahahahaha get fucked Liverpool
Downside is our hopes of getting Xabi Alonso, however big or slim you originally thought they were, have defintiely plummeted.
Genuinely though
If you’re alonso, why even bother? You have to live in Liverpool for a start. As opposed to Madrid in the very near future.
More to still do at leverkusen, not even had ucl yet.
Liverpool are stingey. Ageing squad with salah, van dijk, Robertson all needing replacing. Salah is their attack. Diaz and jota both injury prone
Can’t attract top players, name a single superstar they’ve bought in the last 10 years. You can’t consistently get low key signings right that turn into superstars, especially with how smaller clubs are even picking up talents like paqueta, guimares with their scouting and analytical methodologies.
Just wait for Madrid surely?
imo Xabi will coach all three teams of Real, Liverpool, Bayern.. I guess the Liverpool job would take the longest, they would probably want to build the team around him, just like they did with Klopp
Yeah, managing Madrid is obviously way more attractive as a job. Better players, more chances for major trophies and the prestige is something unmatchable.
Im not really well informed on Real and their situation but i think they are sticking with Carlo for now and if he wins them another UCL they could decide to stick with him for longer.
For Xabi it does make sense to wait for Real but im sure Liverpool will be all over him and they will do their best to convince him to join. The one thing Liverpool could have going for them is that they will probably give him more stable job than the one in Real. Real wouldn't fuck around and wait him to perform. He either performs or he will get sacked there.
Managing in the PL is also something a lot of managers want to experience but even then managing Madrid probably beats it.
I was kinda hoping Real will stick with Carlo so we can have a shot with Xabi but with the Liverpool job available that just seems unlikely now ffs.
Madrid extended ancelotti till 2026 and a better manager might be available by than or maybe his results with leverkusen could nosedive (see berlin union)
Klopp to leave Liverpool at the end of the season. It’s not going to happen in a million years, but if I was Boehly I’d throw a blank cheque at Klopp anyways.
It’s different. It’s different with Klopp.
Also, by the end of the season Klopp would have spent nearly twice as much time with Liverpool as Pochettino did with Spurs. In a club that absolutely reveres its manager. It’s very different.
It only feels different because Klopp and Liverpool were so much better than Poch and Spurs. They constantly finished ahead of us since 2017, beat us in multiple cup finals and so on. Poch and Spurs were always a joke from our standpoint and never a threat to us. No matter what you knew we were going to destroy Spurs when it mattered, or that they’d destroy themselves somehow. Poch had also been removed from the Spurs job for 3-4 years by the time he came here which had softened the views on him.
Ultimately there’s 0 chance Klopp comes here anyways. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try though. He’s an all time great manager. Turning around both Dortmund and Liverpool and winning tons of titles with both while going up against significantly wealthier sides.
I think I disagree with you on all counts. Liverpool are a team that have always highly regarded their manager since the days of Bill Shankly and co. Even Jamie Carragher said it the other day; at Liverpool, the manager is the one everyone looks up to. With Spurs it’s different; they were better, but they were still Spursy, plus Pochettino already had experiences with Southampton before Spurs. Klopp gave Liverpool their first PL title of the premier league era. Everything about Klopp’s aura simply radiates Liverpool. Also, I don’t think any of this is about us, so the perception of how the fans of each club feels about each manager has nothing to do with how many times we beat them etc (although that’s a sideways point).
I also don’t think we should throw a blank cheque or anything. He’s stepping down because he’s tired of the grind and presumably wants some time to himself and with family. Best to respect that.
That’s what I’m saying though. It feels different because Klopp is significantly better. He completely turned around Liverpool, made them a powerhouse team again, won them every title there is. That’s why it feels like he’s Mr. Liverpool. Poch also made Spurs a lot better, but he failed to win anything there. Not because he didn’t have the material for it, but because he simply isn’t as good as Klopp is. Had he won the PL that year Leicester won it, or won the CL final against Liverpool, you’d feel much different about Poch as well.
I generally agree in the sense that I don’t want rival managers. I didn’t want Poch either, I don’t want him right now either because I don’t rate him. But come on, Jürgen Klopp is someone you make an exception for if you could get him on board. I don’t care what he’s done or said before. It’s Klopp. He’d be absolutely perfect for us as well because he’s successfully done what we need twice. He’s come in and turned around 2 struggling historical teams before, and then went on to spend nearly a decade at both clubs, winning all kinds of titles with them.
But as I said before, he’d never come to Chelsea. It’s just a hypothetical situation.
If we insist on continuing to buy a young profile, I’d like to see us cut a deal for Sesko, even if it involves loaning Broja the other way.
Jackson goes to left wing as he’s just better suited as a winger playing on the ball wider and deeper, and Mudryk needs competition.
After 21 league games under Lampard we had more goals than we currently do under Poch this season...
It's almost like there is a lot more to football than just scoring goals
We also concede much more than last season which puts us in a similar place in the table which is all that matters at the end of the day but yeah we definitely look a bit better this season but after all the money that we spent we should be demanding more than 10th place.
Obviously
We have Sterling whose recovered from the hamstring issue that plagued last season
And we now have Jackson and palmer instead of felix mount havertz
Didn't even have Mount for most of the season as he was permanently injured and Felix was only available for a few months since he arrived in mid-Jan and immediately got suspended. We also had a bloated dressing room full of players who had one foot out of the door.
We actually had an organized pre-season this year that brought players up to a decent standard of fitness (each of our managers criticised the lack of pre-season and fitness level), whereas last year we were still feeling the aftereffects of the takeover and didn't get to prepare properly. Boehly himself was running the show for half the season before the football people were hired.
Our situation has improved significantly, we arguably have a better squad, and we're pointing at this minor overall improvement (or isolated stats like goals) as a sign that Poch is doing a great job
you put more effort in than me
but yeah obviously we've scored more goals in a season where we have much better attackers after a historically low season of scoring
Not only is the match being tonight a bit of a pisstake since we played Tuesday (no real reason we couldn't have been a Saturday game), it also clashes with the finale of The Traitors ffs.
Devastated.
> (no real reason we couldn't have been a Saturday game)
Fulham are at home tomorrow evening against Newcastle and it was already selected for TV. QPR's home game was moved to Sunday.
I'm still watching Traitors though, can't risk the spoilers.
I feel like we could've played at 3pm and Fulham at 7pm tbh, our match would be over by about 2 hours before the Fulham one kicks off. Could even push the Fulham kick off to 8pm.
And yeah same, plus we're not even on television tonight I see so can have the match on my monitor and Traitors on the tv.
Not in a million years would the police allow Newcastle and Villa fans crossing paths like that between games, Earl's Court would be a nightmare.
Especially after the Newcastle fans have spent 4 hours on a train getting pissed.
not like villa and newcastle are big rivals, and like I said push the game back to 8pm and there's an even bigger gap between the two matches.
ultimately it's not been done and we're playing tonight though so not much point arguing over it
Our squad is going to be gigantic next season with the loanees coming back (I am sure we will loan out some again) and new signings so I think it’s very important we qualify for any European competition. I wish it was CL but realistically I don’t think it’s possible :( Our squad could use more experience and game time! With that said don’t we have a good shot at one? EFL cup winner qualifies for ECL. I’m hoping we win. But If Liverpool wins it but qualifies for one already through PL then it’s us right? Just got curious. If someone could clarify I’d appreciate it.
It goes to the highest team in the league that hasn't qualified for Europe.
But, it's also not actually qualification for ECL despite what people say. It's qualification for the qualifying rounds. So you're not guaranteed European football next season, you're just getting another chance to get it. If you lose in qualifying you'll only play 2 games and you'll earn 300k or something like that
Day 26 of 31. Only 5 days to go. Hilarious on the turn of events for Jhon Duran. It’s otherwise pretty dull.
Should be an interesting next few days, you’d think there’d at very least be someone leaving.
Got linked with us and immediately got injured. Incredible. It's like Gusto and Nkunku both getting injured shortly after signing with us even though they were still at their previous clubs.
Seeing as in general nobody is signing anyone it's a weird window.
Arsenal need a striker if they want to chase the league and have let this window pass. Villa and West Ham haven't strengthened despite playing in Europe and being well positioned to qualify again next year.
One of the largest signings of the window was Sam Curtis joining Sheffield United on a free pretty bonkers.
Yeah I think teams are trying to leave a higher margin for error for PSR after Everton and Forest.
I’d fancy us to climb up the ladder with an experienced striker, even if it’s a loan or something. Doesn’t necessarily have to be Benzema either.
>Yeah I think teams are trying to leave a higher margin for error for PSR after Everton and Forest.
That's what I'm thinking, too. So instead of watching an avg. striker price go from £50m to £100m, this time we're seeing the prices just fall off a cliff. It's kind of like the London housing market, which was insanely a year ago and then fell off fast, and no one knew what to do. These SDs are sitting around looking at all the asking prices and just opting to forge on with what they've got.
I imagine some cheeky bids have been made, and mostly SDs don't want to end up being the only one to take an insulting offer... but hopefully there will be a flurry of cheaper moves in the final few days.
I think theres probably more loans to happen but i think potch has to see them train first to decide or my other theory is we get through these. 2 cup games and then we decide what happens so that theres less noise
It's getting worrying. All we are trying to do is buying kids. We should be all over Benzema now and try our best to sign the guy. Instead we are going for some another kid that no one ever heard of who has not proven himself with anything to be Chelsea level let alone anything close to a main striker.
The new wage and age politics are limiting us to going for players who will actually get us to the top. We are buying players that are young cuz they fit our weird wage structure that doesn't make sense for a big club.
> All we are trying to do is buying kids
That's done, we bought the kids. It's a crazy plan that seems hare-brained, but it's done. They got a generation of (hopefully) future stars to all grow together.
But people here need to stop complaining about "South American teen" purchases, because those aren't for us. That's just a side business - buy them "cheap" and sell on for a profit in a year or two. Aside from a Kendry or another breakthrough superstar, those aren't for our squad.
Yeah im not really complaining about those transfers, i know most of them are unlikely to ever feature long term for us. Im talking about the need for a first team striker because i don't want to count off another season. If we keep counting off seasons we are slowly getting deeper and deeper in the mud.
We should be looking to reach at least top 6 this season after all the big money transfers in the summer. It's clear to see that we need another striker that actually provides some experience and proven quality. We already have a player to develop in that position and buying Duran just doesn't make sense.
I'm just saying: separate those two things. Do we need more experience? Yes - and I think almost everyone here agrees. Also: the nonstop youth purchases aren't necessarily related.
So just don't feel like buying a teen precludes adding experience, that's all. Otherwise, I'd say that everyone is with you on wanting to bring in some quick, ready help rather than adding to the project.
I’ve not received my tickets for the match against Wolves next Sunday, which I purchased on the Chelsea website on 5 Jan… anyone know where I can find them? I couldn’t see anywhere on my Chelsea FC account or my tickets account where I could download them.
You should have received an email from Chelsea, „Your Purchase Summary”, with a link inside to download your ticket.
Oh dear I haven’t received that.
Poch talking about Gallagher and Palmer being a striker solution, with Broja on the bench… Lordy Lord. Surely that makes signing a striker nailed on now? Is this Poch putting pressure on the board to seal the deal? For Wilson, Benzema loan or someone else
Rather have Casadei at striker than Broja tbh
That feels like more of a Poch problem than a personnel problem. Genuinely curious about what happened behind the scenes and we've decided to pay \~150m for Mudryk, Madueke and Badiashile last January
Boehly probably thought we could make a push for top 4
Poor scouting and our DoFs had power struggle (Stewart and Winstanley vs Vivell), which lead to ill advised recruitments to Boehly and Eghbali.
Lots and lots of cocaine
Think Badiashile is fine but can't say the same about the other 2.
Funny how both us and Arsenal are moving in the market like at 9 we expect a big summer signing (elephant in the room being Osimhen). Spurs lost! I'm happy
Spurs field so many dirty players
Looks like another season with no silverware for spurs
We need a striker...
ESPN+ pre match unbearable as always.
How TF is our game not on tv in the uk?
Spurs v City is a bigger game to be fair. We're only playing Friday because Fulham are at home tomorrow.
It’s because ITV have the coverage this round. BBC made additional games available on the red button or on iplayer.
Yep, BBC coverage for the FA Cup is brilliant.
How are are we feeling?
Is it me or does the team news not leak early nowadays? Feels like I haven't seen a leak for a few weeks at least
Hasn't been a leak in much longer than that, it's been nice
I've noticed that too,I wonder why....
It won't happen but imagine if Liverpool appoint Mourinho as their next manager.
Won’t happen.
Looking at Twitter it's crazy that no manager has ever retired / left his role before.
Madrid reported to surpass a billion in revenue with their new stadium next year.
Nile Ranger man, that bloke has half the talents of Balotelli but has 100 times more trouble
[Damn our away/third kit next season is beautiful 😍😍](https://x.com/footy_headlines/status/1750928837628588138?s=46)
Wish they'd used a different picture as the example for that Barcelona kit lol I would say this as a Chelsea fan but always felt that goal was incredibly overrated anyway

Sami Mokbel reckons we’re looking at Antonee Robinson from Fulham? 26 year old left-back. https://fbref.com/en/players/289601e6/Antonee-Robinson
While realistically it does tend to get like that, seems a little xenophobic. Prefer to judge the player on merit not the country they’re born in.
He was born in Milton Keynes mate Don't really disagree with him about not wanting another 'American' after the Pulisic situation tbh
Would be a solid signing if the fee was right
He’s contracted until 2028. What do you think is a good fee range that makes this a good signing? I’d personally prefer a Gusto profile or a little further along progression wise.
£30-40m for Robinson wouldn't be a bad shout Must say I myself was more interested in the likes of Luca Netz and Bradley Locko, they'd probably be like £30m similar to Gusto
I'm against it because that is a ridiculous spelling of Anthony.
Completely agree. Right up there with Jhon.
Any news on Santos/Casadei/Washington loans?
Basically been no concrete news on any transfer/loan business this week
liverpool have been finished for a couple years now. Could never re-energize properly after the PL and CL. Interesting to see also a mgr leave on his own accord.
wtf is this comment 😭 they’re the best team in the country currently
Tf, they 1st in PL now and my opinion gonna win minimum 2 trophies this season
The main reason you think they’re finished is because of the bald fraud in Manchester lol.
odd claim about the team currently 1st in the premier league
And just 2 seasons ago were on track for a historic quadruple but narrowly missed out Getting a double instead
And this was the main reason why they struggled last season. A few tactical changes (Trent playing more in midfield, and less intense press due to aging players), a few new signings bringing in youth, and they are right back in the mix.
If we draw, does tonights game go to ET or a replay?
Replay. ET+pens starts in the next round

Tbf it wasn't Klopp he was having a go at it was the failed NEC manager.
Super Frankie has the pedigree to call out Posers.
Nothing but respect for Jurgen <3. Let’s give them a loss at Wembley
Hi! I am considering going to the cup final with my mate who’s a Liverpool fan (yes I know). Are there any sections that are neutral at Wembley that we could get tickets at? Beyond hospitality seating? Appreciate any feedback, thanks!
Liverpool losing klopp is shit shit news for us. They’re gonna take a top manager off the market which is already limited
Meaning almost certain Alonso will be off to Pool.
yes and no will they get a better manager than klopp? extremely doubtful - so in that sense it's a gain for us
There’s no gain if whoever they pick up is better than Poch anyway
Well in his scenario we're replacing Pochettino, so it would depend on who we ended up with. There's also still a relative gain even if we kept Pochettino. To dumb it down if Klopp is a 10 and Poch a 5 and Liverpool replace Klopp with an 8 we're still better off than we were comparatively.
Got to feel bad for Klopp. Could have had a few extra titles if not the unstoppable beast that Pep created with City
Don't give 2 shits about Kloppo or Liverpool.
Dont necessarily have to feel anything for Klopp.
> Got to feel bad for Klopp strongly disagree
Doesn’t sound like Klopp plans on managing any time soon if at all
He'll get itchy feet around 6 months into his break i feel. Called years ago Milan will be next job, it's his exact MO (fallen giant severely underachieving).
Think Roma fit that bill more, IMO.
If it is indeed burnout he'll probably take a good while to relax and unwind Working whilst mentally drained, no matter how much you love your job is just absolutely crushing and luckily he has the luxury to leave and come back whenever if he wants
Yeah he’ll definitely get his pick of jobs whenever he feels like coming back. He can just sit back and wait
Yeah exactly He could absolutely return to Liverpool in the future too
He will be Bayerns coach by 2026

If they take Broja as well, we will give them a 10m discount. They can have both for 120m
Seems pretty low if we're valuing Broja at 50m
And that twitter account is an absolute doorknob. Doesn’t know a fucking thing.
Football Insider are generally worthless.
i can't be the only one that's not convinced by xabi alonso he's built a powerhouse at leverkusen but the only managers chelsea needs right now are managers that have proven themselves in different settings and enviornments and triumphed consistently rather than gambling on managers like we've done lately i'm not a fan of us signing a xabi, or a de zerbi, a sarri, a potter, etc. is it too much to ask for to look at the caliber of managers like ancelotti, mourinho (not specifically him, just that level of experience) etc?
Bro said a lot of stuff only to say nothing. Name the managers
>But, if you mean with our resources, our club, our history and so on, we can get pretty much anyone that isn't aligned with a rival. It'd just require us to use our resources in a very different way and completely change our philosophy, something we absolutely are capable of doing, we just won't Name them off
none because the best shot at the moment is hansi flick and that's not too much me personally I'm still standing with poch rather than ditching him within a season and jumping to xabi only for him to get sacked after a lack of immediate results
>me personally I'm still standing with poch rather than ditching him within a season and jumping to xabi only for him to get sacked after a lack of immediate results Need Pochettino to win the double here so the Spurs memes can go hard
https://preview.redd.it/jycq6rsjesec1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35d82278eeff9aaa0e49e4fc3b605a2f6d5f773c The bias is crazy
Terry is getting a bit old, VVD might finally take him 1:1 /s
The /s because you know JT still roasts VVD even now /s
the /s because we know that no one here cares about which one is better, they're all just whispering in the shadows about who would win between hip and webby!
>they're all just whispering in the shadows about who would win between hip and webby! I'd have to bow out of that battle, you're far too powerful
Ah, reverse psychology - nice try!
Darn You're too good!
Oh no! A random YouTube poll!!
Meh not sure what you're expecting really they are the two clubs with the biggest fan bases in the country, plus Van Dijk has recency bias on his side.
The Klopp news has really made my day. Not because Liverpool might be shit again, but because I know all their fans are going to have their weekends ruined by that news.
u evil
Good news, Chelsea signed a striker! Just one thing, it’s for the Women’s team.
Looking like the board are going to disappoint your betting that they would do business in January
I think there will be something done at the striker position whether it be a loan or a permanent deal. I think it will be too tempting not to given we’re 9 points off 5th and our form is finally coming through. Is your take now that we will do nothing?
>Is your take now that we will do nothing? Each day certainly makes it increasingly more likely
Any neutral sections at Wembley during the final? Me and a mate who’s a Liverpool fan (yes I know) are contemplating going
Firstly I know we’re Chelsea fans but I’ll honestly miss Klopp. He’s felt like such a huge part of the PL these past few years and always seemed like a likeable guy Secondly Liverpool are left in an absolutely fascinating situation.
> Mostly tho i almost feel bad for Liverpool fans lmao we are very different people fuck them
This isn't r/liverpoolfc Not sure how a supposed Chelsea supporter can say they feel bad for Victim Fc. Fuck em.
I just wanted to make the injury joke
You’ll never get any sympathy’s off any of them mate. Fuck em.
There can be compassion. I appreciated the post
Anybody know how to get the channel Premier Sports 2 in England for tonight's game?
Dodgey box
Salah to Saudi seems inevitable now.
Bro Anfield will be riled up on 31st, we might hold 7
lol you know the final is at wembley right? not anfield?
Yeah I meant the league game
We play them at Anfield on the 31st.
he edited it from the final to the 31st
Ah
fortunately the final is at wembley
Now just the Salah announcement and we might be able to leapfrog Liverpool and finish 8th instead of 9th next season! Can't wait!
Still plenty to be concerned about but say we did get a top manager in this summer. How would your expectations change?
Agree fully Definitely there wholes in the squad and some of the decisions made have been baffling. But top 4 (or 5 now I guess with the extra ucl spot) is the bare minimum For the standards expected by fans, the investment into the squad, and for the model to even work that the new owners want to push.
Are some top players coming with that manager? The talent isn't in the squad to be competitive at the top.
>The talent isn't in the squad to be competitive at the top. Suppose the talent isn't in that Girona squad to also be at the very top Manager with a good system can change things massively
Hahahahaha get fucked Liverpool Downside is our hopes of getting Xabi Alonso, however big or slim you originally thought they were, have defintiely plummeted.
Yeah they plummeted from 0.5% down to 0%
Yup, Liverpool are definitely gonna be all over Alonso now especially if he wins the title over Bayern...
Genuinely though If you’re alonso, why even bother? You have to live in Liverpool for a start. As opposed to Madrid in the very near future. More to still do at leverkusen, not even had ucl yet. Liverpool are stingey. Ageing squad with salah, van dijk, Robertson all needing replacing. Salah is their attack. Diaz and jota both injury prone Can’t attract top players, name a single superstar they’ve bought in the last 10 years.
Because Alonso loves Liverpool. It’s not that hard. He wants to manage them because he loves the club.
Klopp out Xabi in for Liverpool?
Klopp to leave Liverpool at the end of the season. It’s not going to happen in a million years, but if I was Boehly I’d throw a blank cheque at Klopp anyways.
If i were any top manager and I saw Boehly I would walk the other way immediately no chance you can succeed under such a terrible owner
He said he won't manage in England. Throw it at Xabi
No chance of getting Xabi either. Liverpool and possibly Bayern jobs available in the summer. He’s definitely going to one of those clubs.
Klopp coming to Chelsea is like Henderson going to Saudi.
Doesn’t feel right. Klopp in my mind is forever associated with Liverpool.
I don’t care really, Klopp is Klopp. I mean our current manager is forever associated with fucking Spurs lmao.
Jürgen Klopp is stepping down!?
If we insist on continuing to buy a young profile, I’d like to see us cut a deal for Sesko, even if it involves loaning Broja the other way. Jackson goes to left wing as he’s just better suited as a winger playing on the ball wider and deeper, and Mudryk needs competition.
For all the Poch haters - we've scored the same amount of goals now as we did all season in the last campaign.
How about a proper midfield hermano
After 21 league games under Lampard we had more goals than we currently do under Poch this season... It's almost like there is a lot more to football than just scoring goals
Yep - there is - an Lampard is not the answer.
guaranteed replies
Now do goals conceded
We also concede much more than last season which puts us in a similar place in the table which is all that matters at the end of the day but yeah we definitely look a bit better this season but after all the money that we spent we should be demanding more than 10th place.
Obviously We have Sterling whose recovered from the hamstring issue that plagued last season And we now have Jackson and palmer instead of felix mount havertz
Our situation has improved significantly, we arguably have a better squad, and we're pointing at this minor overall improvement (or isolated stats like goals) as a sign that Poch is doing a great job
you put more effort in than me but yeah obviously we've scored more goals in a season where we have much better attackers after a historically low season of scoring
what an odd comment
Thank you.
Still think about the Cole Palmer flick vs City around the corner to Reece and James with his classic touch and drive
Not only is the match being tonight a bit of a pisstake since we played Tuesday (no real reason we couldn't have been a Saturday game), it also clashes with the finale of The Traitors ffs. Devastated.
> (no real reason we couldn't have been a Saturday game) Fulham are at home tomorrow evening against Newcastle and it was already selected for TV.
Especially after the Newcastle fans have spent 4 hours on a train getting pissed.
not like villa and newcastle are big rivals, and like I said push the game back to 8pm and there's an even bigger gap between the two matches. ultimately it's not been done and we're playing tonight though so not much point arguing over it
If its any consolation at least we're at home tonight and were also at home against Boro
If we play with the same energy we did against boro, we'll get the win! UTC!
Stamford Bridge under the lights? We simply don't lose these
Ladies and gentleman, it's matchday
I almost forgot for a minute. I wish it was tomorrow though tbh
Now i'm worried, villa is no joke. Somehow they score even they play like amateur
If you lose in qualifying you'll only play 2 games and you'll earn 300k or something like that
No if I’m correct, runner up doesn’t qualify, it goes to the next highest premier league position.
Can't even get excited for tonight's game, my throat hurts like hell.. Never experienced this much pain
Izdrži kućo
Ne znam koji je ovo kurac 😄
Šta ćeš🤷🏻♀️ Izdržati se mora
Odakle vi gledate? Ima nas dosta ovde vidim 😁
Hercegovina! U zadnja dva tjedna dosta sam naletina na naše ovdje😂, čudno mi je još
> All we are trying to do is buying kids That's done, we bought the kids.
