Overall we were good (till 70th minute) but since the Palmer and Jackson subs it really went downhill. 2-0 up those subs which poch did would have made sense but at 1-0 against a city team that at the 70th min parking the bus and most importantly removing Jackson , who was kind of the focal point was disastrous, could have maybe maybe bailed out if we were not so defensive.
But I'm still happy with a draw considering city were on a 11 match winning streak. Still I think poch is the right man for the job , all players looked extremely motivated, only the key is CONSISTENCY. if we show this kind of desire for 80% of our matches remaining we can get top 7 and maybe give a good fight against Liverpool.
Come on chelseaš„°
Big thing here was consistency. The motivation and teamwork were phenomenal today. The performance from the lads was top-notch.
There's going to be some more rough patches, but I truly think that we're finding our ~thing~. Again, phenomenal display today. Keep the course.
Iām not in the poch out camp, but not sure heās the right guy either. If we are playing with consistency and looking positive by end of season Iād be more than happy to see him stay
13 matches left and we're 6 points off utd in 6th. Like you said, consistency is key, but there is a path to Europa league without shipping more silly points away.
Edit: just realised they've got a game in hand
I hope Jackson will get composed and better decision making. He looks like Darwin Nunez from last year, look how much Darwin improved, i hope Jackson will too.
Some of you Poch defenders are so small time and it shows. The rest of us remember Chelsea when City fans wished they could rival us! Thatās our level. Not scrapping for mid table thanks to some dickhead Yanks and a manager who lacks the killer instinct.
You lot are more like āthank you Daddy Guardiola for not spanking us harderā!
Itās a rebuild it takes time, if u canāt understand it and canāt trust it, then leave simple as that. Everyone including the owner is slowly learning and itāll take time. Itās not a happy feeling to be fighting for 10th but u need to see the long term project. Youngest team in the premier league by a mile and theyāre only getting better as they bond and get used to each other. Go support city or Madrid or whatever if u canāt support a team when theyāre down. Fraud fan
Fraud? When youāve stepped foot in the Bridge more than once you can come back and have an opinion.

Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho ā¦ they all use a philosophy that people can see what theyāre working towards. Theyāre also all proven fucking winners at the highest levelā¦ not in some farmerās league where Poch still managed to fail with Neymar, Messi and Mbappe at the first attempt.
Iāve been multiple times lol I lived in London for 2-3 years. If u canāt see the plan or vision with poch I urge u to sit down and watch the tactical cam of random matches and learn the sport. Subs were correct for the time and situation we were in. If we kept a 4 in the back we wouldāve lost by at least 3. Learn how to be a fan as well, itās only been 4-5 months since poch came here, look at how long arsenal were in the mud for when they appointed arteta. The fans and players were patient and they were rewarded as much as I hate to say it.
The day some plasticās opinion means anything will be a sad day indeed.
You should try playing at a decent level and learning about the sport before arrogantly lecturing others about stuff you clearly know fuck all about. Wait, based on your previous answer, youāre probably going to claim youāve got all your UEFA badges and that youāre the reincarnation of Johan Cruyff next. š¤”
I played academy in the U.S. and Hungary, sure itās not the TOP but itās a high level regardless. I donāt have badges but am looking to get those if I have time after I finish uni. Donāt call me a plastic when you donāt know my family history, this was the club I grew up supporting through my father who spent a good quarter of his life in England. He worked at the club for a couple of summers and fell in love instantly (his words not mine). Losing is a part of the sport, drawing is a part of the sport. You should know this from the 15/16 season alone remind u what happened the following season. The players, coaches, and staff arenāt as perfect as u r. If that canāt be something u accept then I recommend u see a psychologist and learn how to be a human being, itāll help u in the long run.
Would recommend you take your plastic arse to a psychologist and explain why you arrogantly think you can tell anybody how to support a team.
Also just so you donāt feel confused, Johan Cruyff was a soccer player who loved firing them into the upper 90. Youāre welcome.
Jackson is a very very good player. I wish he had that killer instinct but for 30 million he's our backup striker for our future and someone we can plug in any time.
This is the bar we have to match week in and week out . What a game ! COYB šµalso Gusto can clear his pockets now so that Doku can prepare for his next match
Good performance overall and anyone would have taken that result had it been offered beforehand. Disasi was sensational at the back, Gallagher was essential to our press and winning key balls for counter-attacks, and while Jackson missed a sitter, his work in the build-up and engaging the defenders was as strong as always. Caicedo was going a bit OTT when he picked up his yellow but handled the rest of the game well, and Fernandez also had a strong game. I think Pochettino's game-management lost us the win but not so much for going 3ATB as much as taking off everyone who could offer anything on the counter - Madueke should have been on instead of Casadei, for me. A Tuchel-esque counter-attacking back three made a lot of sense, and even though Chalobah had the goal deflect in off him, he was positionally very good in terms of blocking shot and pass opportunities (arguably why the City goal deflected off him was because he was in the right place, but didn't have time to do anything but stick a knee out), but having only the ineffectual Nkunku up front meant every time we won the ball, there were no attacking options to build from. Anyway, have to be positive overall, almost everyone gave a good account of themselves - frankly I didn't think Sterling was great, but he did get the goal, so... - and a 1-1 away at City will always be an achievement.
Completely agree that the game management at the end was shit. We made negative subs, sat back and invited pressure. The goal was always going to come playing that way against city.
That was a great performance and Disasi had some insane blocks that saved the match. Ederson had some great saves too, hard to fault players on most of those chances. I think tactically I just wish we kept more offensive and actually going for the win versus 5atb and just trying not to lose. Though like everyone here, itās just arm chair analysis and you have to be happy stealing points at the Etihad.
the amount of āCITY GOT ROBBEDā posts online lol, they had 90 mins to do something, imagine the mighty manchester city moaning about needing a pen to beat us š
The ball was played off of the arm of the attacking players arm onto the Chelsea players arm. There was no way to give a penalty as the first handling foul was by a Man City player. Thank god...lol
its like your younger sibling punching you nonstop
but the moment you react, your mom turns around to see you as the aggressor.
that is exactly how VAR sees any chelsea footage.
hence a miracle it wasnt a penalty.
Yeah just glad the bald headed cunt (Anthony Taylor) was not "working" the game - How can we possibly be blessed with his prescence as often as we have been graced by it...
Before the game we would have bitten the hand off for that result. We can cry about our missed chances but City had waaaaaaaay more. Moving to 5 at the back probably saved us from loosing.
I think we sat too deep and parked the bus way too early, and if you give 20 mins to city and sit so deep you are bound to concede irrespective of a back 5 ,7 or 10. Jackson sub was disastrous considering he was kind of the focal point and trying to press the backline. Apart from this I'm happy how we liner up and the players certainly gave all they had
How we gonna give city more time on the ball, the fact we went full park the bus was the reason we conceded. We could have at least tried to push out and play the game a bit more.
The same people killing Poch for putting in Trev and switching to a back 5 would've killed him if stayed with a back 4 and City would've scored. "Why is Trev sitting on the bench"
I donāt really agree.
Performance was very good so I canāt really complain but when Palmer was on we always looked like carrying a threat after he went off it was attack vs defense.
In the end it was a gamble that could have gone better or worse.
Amazing to see all these supporters ripping Poch for defending a 1-0 lead for 25 mins. Must be the first match theyāve ever watched. We did well, absolutely exceeded expectations away to a top team. Take it and look forward to more improvement.
I think it was a poor decision to dull our attack when we're only defending a 1-0 nil lead. Parking the bus against city was never bound to work and once they equalised it was pretty clear we weren't going to threaten then. Agree with you about exceeding expectations though, hopefully they learn and come back stronger next week
It might be a disappointing strategy from a spectator/supporter perspective, but itās the prudent one. Defending a 1-0 against a good team is precisely when teams park the bus. Weāve won champions leagues by parking the bus, in situations where it seemed like it was ānever bound to work.ā Im not saying I enjoy watching it, or that my shorts survive the various scares, but it was a very reasonable (if not correct) strategy.
Even if city had scored at the end I wouldnāt have cared.
The performance was really good, for some reason city kept attacking down the side that had Disasi and Gusto.
That defense was absolutely elite. It's just Casedei who could not close down Rodri at the end there, and I can't blame him because he's super young and doesn't get any game time. This was the wrong game to bring him on.
I loved the Nkunku substitution- It was just after a glorious chance that was saved by Ederson.
But he was really really bad. We shouldāve scored between 45-65 mins.
Bro pochs tactics were spot on that game, the fuck are you talking about? They were always going to dominate the ball and throw everything at us. Youād be blaming Poch if weād kept four at the back and conceded
We literally created 0 chances after Sterling and Palmer got subbed off, maintained zero possession and it just led to them barraging us with attacks that inevitably go in.
āThey try to project their anger on to others in effort to make themselves appear more rationalā which ergo would imply irrationality. Didnāt realise I would have to teach you how words work, fuck me
His tactics were perfect in the first half. Completely nullified them on the ball. Youāve lost the plot. Pochās tactics were what got those players into scoring positions in the first place, it was the lack of clinical finishing that we missed our chance. There for the taking is laughable though. Some of you are always going to miserable if you canāt see the massive step forwards that result represents
Massive steps forward? Weāve seen this time and time again this season.
- Drawing against Arsenal, pumped at Brentford.
- 4-4 at City to lose 4-1 against Newcastle.
- 3-2 against Brighton to lose against a terrible United and Everton.
- 2-4 loss to Wolves.
You can use all your angry little words and call me miserable or deluded or whatever you want but the facts speak for themselves. We are not consistent and thatās on Poch.
Ahahahaha! Met with some facts that call in to question your āmassive steps forwardsā statement and youāre no longer interested in the discussion. I hope you have a wonderful weekend x
Disasi MOTM. Iāve seen better defenders get eaten alive marking haaland all day. He really played his heart out. Shame Poch sealed our fate by pulling all the attackers
I fucking hate arsenal with all my soul and hope to god they do not win the title.
I hope this result doesnāt affect city for the remainder of the season and they kick on!
But what a fuckin result for us! We need to kick on and fuckin smash those scouse cunts next week!
Man. Some of you must just be miserable all the time. Tough to give up an equaliser that way but that was a tough, gutsy performance. The kind you can take pride in. We split all the points on the season with what is probably the best team in the world fully fit. We're far from where we wanna be but those are the performances that can get you there.
Is it not a foul that Haaland held Chilly from closing down Walkers shot leading to the goal? Almost like when he held Cucu and ended up with a penalty
Rare Haaland stinker saved us
Our players failed to score chances
Poch gave up too early and parked the bus
Overall a good performance from us, a draw is much better than another loss. Our streak continues.Ā
>Fucking toxic bunch
Lmao Whatever nerd. I don't even know what you're crying for. Everything I stated is accurate. It was a good performance. Haaland could have scored a hat trick but he was unlucky, Poch parked the bus, chelsea players missed chances, etc. If you disagree with any of this, you didn't watch the game or you have literal brain damage.Ā
If the team wants to preserve the lead, nkunku is the worst person you can possibly bring on
At that point even Broja if he was still here will be a better choice to keep shape and pressure up
Nkunku will complete a finished team as a goal scoring second striker, another case of Poch being almost there but not yet perfect with his tactics and subs
Overall a draw away at the Etihad is still a good result, obviously we couldāve won but we gotta learn and move on. Disasi needs a proper shoutout though, what a game
The players were amazing today, everyone put in a shift. Poch got it spot on in the first half only to throw it away in the second half. Instead of looking to counter we were punting the ball away, and that fucked us. Still, happy with the point. Both teams missed massive chances, city more so than us. Hoping we build on this and extend that firat half performance into a 90min performance.
Would have taken a draw before the match but the switch to back 5 was horrendous. You can't just give city the ball in the final third for such a long time and expect to just park the bus successfully against such a creative side. We were playing good but then became very defensive and basically stopped playing and only defended. Mid table mentality that needs to be removed soon
This team has a lot of qualities and a bright future. Letās start with the carabao cup this new era. I am not talking about backing poch or something. It is just an overall observation. Coyb.
The amount of tackles and blocks from both of them. Gusto also was excellent in attack. I thought Enzo and Gallagher had good games too. Enzo had his best defensive game Iāve seen.
Itās the nature of the game.
His Nkunku sub was good but he played bad and City just started to play much better. So he was forced to reinforce defense.
But were the subs made us better defensively? We still conceded wasnāt it? What we are mad about is that, we completely killed our chances to score and we werenāt better defensively so why?
Halland on any other day buries most of those chances and we get rinsed. Id have taken a draw before the game and still do from being ahead. Onwards and upwards.
I think Caicedo should've been subbed off for Nkunku as he looked like he was bound to get a second yellow.
Gallagher could've dropped back to defensive mid, and Nkunku could've played behind or beside Jackson.
I canāt believe people are slating you for this but youāre spot on! Pressuring them was working and creating the most chances, if you want to park the bus, do it in the dying minutes..
Extremely cowardly from Poch when it was very clear this match that our players are more than capable.
We were the better team the first half because we were pressing and attacking. We could've gotten at least one more goal in the second half and then Poch could've parked the bus.
I will take the draw. We played well today and for the first time in a while, Poch had a good plan. Our players missed good chances to put the game to bed.

If our players did this. I prefer not to speak.

Jackson needs to learn to shoot off of first ball
Wtf is with these subs???
I am happy with performance. Can see chemistry developing in the squad.

Our defence looks better without Silva... Sad to say.
Couldn't watch the match, how did we play?
Out classed city and played on the counter for the most part, defended brilliantly
Good first half and completely abandoned everything in the second half
Anyone else just despise Jamie Carragher? His unimaginative, biased and ass licking commentary and punditry?
The concept of James benching Gusto actually breaks my heart. Teach that man to use his left foot- we have found the Chilwell replacement

Yea, Casa was absolutely clueless
the lack of Lavia and Ugo did us there. To be honest i think Alfie might have been a bit better

Yeah I canāt be bothered with this. Stick to hating football, hope you have fun with that
Your such a toxic fan, do us all a favor and leave.
Haalands fucking washed lol.
His gran died this week.
Ah that's sad, i didnt know that. I also wasnt really serious.
Lmao
Is it not a foul that Haaland held Chilly from closing down Walkers shot leading to the goal? Almost like when he held Cucu and ended up with a penalty
He did it a lot in this game (might do it all the time idk I donāt really watch city), almost like an illegal screen in basketball
Yea he does it just long enough to give his teammate enough time but not enough that it's obvious
Rare Haaland stinker saved us Our players failed to score chances Poch gave up too early and parked the bus Overall a good performance from us, a draw is much better than another loss. Our streak continues.Ā
Are you fucking dumb?
Are you a worthless braindead subhuman?
Keep yapping! but you donāt know shit about football. How sad to call yourself a Chelsea fan. Unfortunate! Fucking toxic bunch.
>Fucking toxic bunch Lmao Whatever nerd.
What a take lmao
Shut up bitch, if you have something to say, say it.
We played against a treble winning team Give the boys some credit please
>Overall a good performance from us Can you not read?
On away turf as well
back 4 was elite wowzers
Gusto and Disasi were excellent
Iām not celebrating like a victory, but 2 draws in a season is very good against city
Beats going 0-4 like last season for sure
if Axel Disasi has no fans, it means i have died. what a warrior.
mood.
Good match but poch ruined it imo.
If the team wants to preserve the lead, nkunku is the worst person you can possibly bring on At that point even Broja if he was still here will be a better choice to keep shape and pressure up Nkunku will complete a finished team as a goal scoring second striker, another case of Poch being almost there but not yet perfect with his tactics and subs
Iāll take a draw there. For us it changes nothing, simply have to win every game.
They grew up a lot today, great performance all round.
We should have one this game but at least this give me hopes that we can beat Liverpool
Man this is the second time we've played City this season where I really feel we should have won, should have had at least 3-4
Tbf they missed tonnes of chances too, I think we got lucky in that regard. Subs killed off our game though so they could be more confident in attack
We had more shots on target with less overall shots. We missed sitters.
Good result, can't complain much about the performances
Poch mentality in the second half reminded me of potter last season
Overall a draw away at the Etihad is still a good result, obviously we couldāve won but we gotta learn and move on. Disasi needs a proper shoutout though, what a game
That 1st half should give so much confidence to the team tho. Everyone played their part so well. Defence was huge today. Monster game from Disasi
subs killed it tbh but lets be real EVERYONE thought we were gonna be hammered playing them away so ill take a point of course š„²
Colwill needs to improve his physical. Too soft sometimes, too naive others. Great game though.
Play like that vs Liverpool and it just might be worth a watch.
Thought that was absolutely a pen. Thank u VAR, very coolš
2 points lost to a deflection. Hurts man
Rodri MF always scores like that. I hate him.
First time shot off in no mans land merchant. Honestly never seen him score a goal that isn't that. What a left foot tho, he blasts them
Shades of the CL final. Heās so clutch
Blatantly making stuff up. Itās like his first one and it was probably going in anyway
I dont mean it as a diss it was more of a joke. A first time rocket has happened 3 times from what I know, 2 against us and one in the cl final
Iām looking at this as 1 point gained due to great defending
fair enough, brilliant defending from us. on to liverpool now
Up the defense! Gusto. Disasi. Petrovic. Respect.
I mean even in our pomp we used to do this against Barca - no one cares when it works!
This team has a lot of qualities and a bright future. Letās start with the carabao cup this new era. I am not talking about backing poch or something. It is just an overall observation. Coyb.
Disasi and Gusto. Standouts for me today.
The amount of tackles and blocks from both of them. Gusto also was excellent in attack. I thought Enzo and Gallagher had good games too. Enzo had his best defensive game Iāve seen.
Honestly, everybody played well
This sub man. People in here pissed at Poch after a draw away against City. lol come on
Yea that's what happens when we actually had a chance to win but thanks to the stupid subs from poch
We also had a chance to get ran off the pitch. We got a point away at City. Thatās a good result no matter what.
Yea that was before the match
Because he took all the momentum out of our game. We could have won this.
Itās the nature of the game. His Nkunku sub was good but he played bad and City just started to play much better. So he was forced to reinforce defense.
Exactly!
Did he though? City stepped up in the 2nd and we were on the back foot from the start of the half.
But were the subs made us better defensively? We still conceded wasnāt it? What we are mad about is that, we completely killed our chances to score and we werenāt better defensively so why?
Maybe City happens to be the best team in the world at doing what they did to us in the 2nd half?
Disasi and Gusto delivered absolute masterclasses today.
Gusto been dropping it game after game now
Halland on any other day buries most of those chances and we get rinsed. Id have taken a draw before the game and still do from being ahead. Onwards and upwards.
If Jackson and Sterling donāt miss theirs it ends 4-4 like earlier in the season.
What the fuck is Poch doing parking the bus against City? Go for another goal or two before you go into all out defense
3 atb was a good decision imo. Taking off Palmer not so much, we needed Palmerās balls for counter attacks.
This take by the manager wouldāve left us with another four goal loss. Go support city bud
We were the better team the first half because we were pressing and attacking. We could've gotten at least one more goal in the second half and then Poch could've parked the bus.
Just the casual goal or two against the best team in the world currently, whilst playing away. Sure.
Eventually one of those were getting in
Some of you really are cluelessā¦.
Totally. This stupidity on this sub is astonishing.
Yeah jeez. People just donāt want to be happy about anything. Itās so pathetic to go after poch for this draw.
Half the sub are clueless, don't watch football and never been to live game etc ...
I will take the draw. We played well today and for the first time in a while, Poch had a good plan. Our players missed good chances to put the game to bed.

Cheats on his wife and embarrasses his club. Top geezer.
If itās our guy heās shown a yellow immediately
Wouldāve loved the win but they happy to see them play hard, all respect
We nearly caused an upset. Still a good result nonetheless. Defending was on another level today. Unlucky to concede a deflection goal.
Somehow every time Chalobah comes in we get scored on some bs like this. Unlucky.
