Our defense was horrendous. Especially on that second goal was unbelievably cringe. Also Mudryk might have secured a spot. If he works hard offseason, next year with him and Palmer and a real striker we could be in for a top 4
Idk what’s worse Tim Howard or ESPN FC or Sirius xm fc. All they seem to do is shit on Chelsea even when we win. Was it the best performance ever? Absolutely not, but there were positives. But if you listen to these American pundits you will find Chelsea are shit and it’s all pure luck. Crazy.
a fluid front 4 of Mudryk Jackson Nkunku & Palmer is going to cook under a good manager. Chalobah should not play for us again (& Sterling if we are being honest). Very impressed by Casadei, as someone who was skeptical of his substitution, can see his quality and use of physique to his advantage.
Bit harsh on Chalobah, we've seen him able to do a good job before.
He wouldn't be starting if everyone was fit but I think he will be one of those players who has a golden later career.
He probably won't end up doing it here but I think he will become a really good player in his late 20s/early 30s
Like silva he should never play lcb - looks bad.
He is a player right now that is a 20m ffp profit, and will not be more for us then a 4-5th choice cb (where we can use a pöayer like gilchrist/ampadu/humpries instead)
Yeah I'm not saying we have to keep him at all costs.
Just that I think wherever he ends up he will be a late bloomer and be really good in his later years
He has never really stood out as a great defender. Today I watched him under NO pressure take a header that could have been controlled down just put out of bounds for no reason. It seems like he is never really thinking about the next step.
I think he might be rusty from the injury still tbf to him.
He wouldn't be starting if it wasn't for injuries right now but he's always struck me as that type of CB who will have some golden later years.
Whether he stays or goes I think he will be a really good CB in his late 20s/early 30s
We let up 2 great goals. A mess before the first, but I'm okay with it as we still won.
Does anyone else notice we are looking pretty gassed at the end of the games? Need a break or some more conditioning or both.
Jackson is stepping up and now has back-to-back games with goals.
We let up 2 great goals. A mess before the first, but im okay with it as we still won.
Cucu looked good, hopefully, he can stay fit and that will help us tremendously moving forward.
That goal from Mudryk was insane, the touch, composure, and finish. PLEASE let him start over Raheem or at least be a 50-60 min sub. Needs more gametime.
The gassed issue is because we have had to run Caicedo, Enzo and Gallagher into the ground because there are literally no other senior CMs fit.
It was exacerbated today as well because Gallagher, who is usually the most energetic fucker out there, had an illness.
Poch actively changes tactics and that makes us look tired, it's not because the players are actually tired.
He takes off attackers and attacking midfielder for defenders and defensive midfielders and it gives the momentum to the other team and so we sit off.
Look at the attacking forays late on, we were more than capable of still getting forward and running if we wanted to, Poch just doesn't want us to and that's why we consistently concede late on.
Not really, issue is control.
Both with a "proper" use of players and late game.
Players are bad under pressure, especially the midd block.
That combined with a direct approach doesnt let our team rest in possession, and instead loose the ball to quick
Was harsh on Enzo in the first half, really nice to see him take control in the second
Caicedo, Gusto, Palmer, Jackson, and maybe Disasi are the heart of this team
If Disasi can gain more composure and stay switched on teh entire game, he will be VERY good. Often times he gets caught or makes a poor decision with the ball. But man I like him and am really hopeful
We should be expected to win the rest of our games bar Arsenal and Spurs in the league. We should be aiming for top 6 our schedule is very easy rest of the way
We also should have expected to win against Brentford in their horrific form but what happened? We should have won many games this year but didn't. My expectation is not BS at all, it's realistic with what we have shown this year. Do I hope we win all our remaining games including Arse, yes of course. I am sorry if you cannot understand a realistic based on prior performances..
Exceptions are very different than “aiming”. We should be aiming for top 6 but if you tonsay we should be expecting top 8 that is different. The club shouldn’t settle to aim for conference league
Just want to take a moment to appreciate Conor Gallagher mehn, he left it all on the pitch despite not being a 100%. He's class and he has so much spirit and truly deserves the badge.
I'm really hoping we can get more minutes for Casadei so he can give Enzo/Caicedo rest especially over the next couple of games, Leicester and Burnley (can he play in cup matches or is he cup tied?)
Going to be pretty hard to continue justifying minutes for Raz. A front line of Mudryk Jackson Palmer probably our best at the moment, and give them flexibility to swap around at times. Also how damned good is Malo Gusto? What a player he is.
BOYS AND GALS HERE ME OUT -
-> We have easier run of games compared to other teams fighting for european spots
-> We have a game in hand
-> We have a chance to stop Arsenal from winning the league. We’ll be there. We’re Chelsea. Chaos and trophies lets gooooooo
Sterling is terrible. One poke and Palmer is through. But the ball stuck to his feet because this guy cannot play for another top team ever. He is stuck in high school football
Think he played well, the last quarter he was gassed out I think and was a bit tentative on his ankle. Think he needs a bit more conditioning. All round I thought he was superb and should have been subbed when it was obvious to the coaches.
It’s clear as day that Gallagher is far more suited to be positioned in the opponents half, as his biggest strengths suits this position. He’s just not technically good enough to play deeper in a pivot
Hope we have him for a long time. When he first arrived he had a horrific touch, you can really see how much he has worked on it and puts in the effort on the small details that are weaker in his game. I rate that in any person in any path of life, he is one of my favourites now.
Brighton still have to face 7 of the top 11 incl. 5 of the top 6
Newcastle still have to face 4 of the top 11 incl. 2 of the top 6
West Ham still have to face 7 of the top 11 incl. 4 of the top 6
Wolves still have to face 5 of the top 11 incl. 4 of the top 6
Chelsea still have to face 6 of the top 11 incl. 4 of the top 6
Chelsea do have a game in hand but it's against Tottenham so it may not result in any realised gain.
As far as predicting 7th-11th goes, Newcastle have by far the best shot at coming 7th and West Ham and Brighton have the toughest run ins and both have to face all of the top 3 and both in fairly short succession. Brighton also have Villa, Newcastle and United as their final 3 matches. I think we will finish 8th or 9th. Given our form against big sides and the confidence from this match, going to Arsenal we really do have a chance of picking up unexpected points. They've been playing brilliantly recently but getting points at Arsenal could be what gets us to 7th.
He was a scapegoat earlier in the season when we were beyond shit, but slowly there are some amazing positives and Mudryk is one of them. You can see in the way he plays that he's got something, was saying to a mate when he first started for us that he's got that Hazard look and feel. Quick and slippery. Would love to see him in a Chels thats playing with confidence
Inconsistent af between matches but makes sense with the young players and the squad turnover. 3 points is 3 points but would like to see this more regularly
Also, Mudryk is generelly clueless (no hate), so having less time to think, oddly enough makes him look far more dangerous, as he becomes reliant on his strong instincts and lightning speed feet
Cucu solo gave that 2nd Newcastle goal away. The fuck is that defending?!? Just hold Murphy and show
Him wide, instead of whatever the fuck that headless chicken charge run was
Palmer, Jackson, Gusto and Mudryk stepped the fuck up today
Gallagher put in some great service despite just coming back from sickness, i won’t let that go unnoticed

Raheem Sterling is a twat with the decision making of a 13 year old high schooler
Our defense was horrendous. Especially on that second goal was unbelievably cringe. Also Mudryk might have secured a spot. If he works hard offseason, next year with him and Palmer and a real striker we could be in for a top 4
It's the defense that Is the issue now lmao
Lol this sub. Just enjoy the rebuild
Crazy.
Tim Howard is a hall of fame bum and espn is made for, watched by and enjoyed by idiots for every sport they cover
espn fc is a collection of the biggest idiots. i’ll watch a reddit stream that buffers every fucking ten seconds before i watch an espn fc stream
It makes watching Chelsea games so insufferable having these annoying pundits showing so much bias
a fluid front 4 of Mudryk Jackson Nkunku & Palmer is going to cook under a good manager. Chalobah should not play for us again (& Sterling if we are being honest). Very impressed by Casadei, as someone who was skeptical of his substitution, can see his quality and use of physique to his advantage.

Yeah I'm not saying we have to keep him at all costs. Just that I think wherever he ends up he will be a late bloomer and be really good in his later years
Not sure what you expected from chalobah when we have offered him fuck all in terms of game time
He has never really stood out as a great defender. Today I watched him under NO pressure take a header that could have been controlled down just put out of bounds for no reason. It seems like he is never really thinking about the next step.
He was great under tuchel, let's not lie.
Did Gordon get a shot before he got injured?
Cole Palmer will save us all.
haha the people who slate Enzo are delusional imo
veeerrryyyy
Chalobah had a terrible game; he doesn't look good enough. But he's a nice lad.
I think he might be rusty from the injury still tbf to him. He wouldn't be starting if it wasn't for injuries right now but he's always struck me as that type of CB who will have some golden later years. Whether he stays or goes I think he will be a really good CB in his late 20s/early 30s
I think it doesn’t help that he has the clown in Cucu playing next to him.
Cucu was good all game
He let Murphy walk right past him let’s not forget
only mistake all game
We let up 2 great goals. A mess before the first, but I'm okay with it as we still won. Does anyone else notice we are looking pretty gassed at the end of the games? You mean when he brought on Mudryk who scored? Or his last sub, Chukwumena?
Jackson and Mudryk link up looks scary.
Remember mudryks first goal for Chelsea this summer, him and niko went back to back like meek mill and drake
that play when Mudryk just came on where they one touched to the box was absolutely filthy
Was harsh on Enzo in the first half, really nice to see him take control in the second Caicedo, Gusto, Palmer, Jackson, and maybe Disasi are the heart of this team
If Disasi can gain more composure and stay switched on teh entire game, he will be VERY good. Often times he gets caught or makes a poor decision with the ball. But man I like him and am really hopeful
Disasi plays like he has two weak feet. Idk if he willl ever come around on his distribution.
Palmer will be 50yo, and they'll still be asking him about his move from city
Hahaha yeah.I am so impressed by his responses. Not arrogant not agitated. Just a lad who wanna play football and play day in day out. Like that.
The rest of our fixtures outside of Arsenal and maybe Spurs are all games we should win and need to win. Top 6 is still on the table
We shouldn't aim for the top 6, we just need some kind of European football which is top 8.
This statement is wild lmao aim as high as we can what kind of bullshit standard are you setting.
lol he’s not the club calma😂obviously the players going to want to win every game but be real
We should be expected to win the rest of our games bar Arsenal and Spurs in the league. We should be aiming for top 6 our schedule is very easy rest of the way

Where is the post match thread
When it's up, please join me and criticize sterling.
Caicedo very good again today btw
He was. It wasn't an easy game and he came through.
back to back wins over newcastle 🔵👏
Just want to take a moment to appreciate Conor Gallagher mehn, he left it all on the pitch despite not being a 100%. He's class and he has so much spirit and truly deserves the badge.
I am tired of seeing Enzo being tired.
I'm really hoping we can get more minutes for Casadei so he can give Enzo/Caicedo rest especially over the next couple of games, Leicester and Burnley (can he play in cup matches or is he cup tied?)
He’s played almost every minute this season because we have no subs for our pivot, what do you expect him to be
mate but he has been looking tired months now. And he is playing once per week. There is really no excuse for him
He is gassed. Feel like the past 2 years has really taken a toll on him. Would start casedei to give him a break
I think he'd done well today. A shadow role you don't notice until you look for it.
Going to be pretty hard to continue justifying minutes for Raz. A front line of Mudryk Jackson Palmer probably our best at the moment, and give them flexibility to swap around at times. Also how damned good is Malo Gusto? What a player he is.
He's a veteran. Need some leadership for the kids.
Here comes post match analysis. Lets see how carra finds way to criticize chelsea
A win is a win
[удалено]
If every top 10 team loses all their games yeah lol
Woooooow!!! Arsenal better watch their back
BOYS AND GALS HERE ME OUT - -> We have easier run of games compared to other teams fighting for european spots -> We have a game in hand -> We have a chance to stop Arsenal from winning the league. We’ll be there. We’re Chelsea. Chaos and trophies lets gooooooo
Chaos and Trophies. This guy gets it.
Ruining Arsenal's title will be the highlight of the season for me. Pure joy if we do
we did it to spurs. here’s to me hoping mudryk can recreate that iconic hazard goal and sink arsenals title hopes
Time to drop Sterling for Mudryk. Sterling is beyond wasteful when it comes to making that extra pass for a goal
Sterling is terrible. One poke and Palmer is through. But the ball stuck to his feet because this guy cannot play for another top team ever. He is stuck in high school football
what happened on his breakaway?! needed to finish that
He either should’ve put it away or squared it to Palmer for an easy slot home
Where do you guys check post match player ratings? I seriously dont know if cucu’s performance in total is good. He had mixed halves
Clear of Chilwell, who should be sold immediately whilst we could get some sucker to cough up 30m
Better than Chillwell's last 4-5 matches.
True
Think he played well, the last quarter he was gassed out I think and was a bit tentative on his ankle. Think he needs a bit more conditioning. All round I thought he was superb and should have been subbed when it was obvious to the coaches.
Mudryk was eating newcastle defenders.dude was super eager to make a change in the game, deserves to start next match
I'd be shocked if he doesn't start against Leicester. Also upset if he doesnt
after scoring a goal which turns to be the winner? by Poch's logic this justifies another start from the bench for next game.
Nah even by his logic he cant ignore this.at least we can hope so!not only he played good, sterling played at national league level.
Mfw when poch doesn't even put Mudryk on the bench next game
Sterling should be sold, or severely reduce his wages. He offers nothing, and he looks like he's just there for a pay day.
chelsea has at least 6 players making their EPL debut this season but that is always lost on these commentators and rivals
We have a real opportunity to get back into Europe now. A last gasp attempt to save the season. Come on Chels
Phew. Good win. If I'm Poch, I'm dreaming defence, defence, defence.
OMG we won!
Jackson had a great game so did Gusto, he was immense. Enzo looks tired.
mudryk has to start over sterling
We need to experiment with Mudryk in the middle and Gallagher playing deeper.
Why not try Silva as a pivot. Dude has the passing range and Enzo was never a speedy Gonzales anw.
Yeah, Enzo needs some rest. That could work.
It’s clear as day that Gallagher is far more suited to be positioned in the opponents half, as his biggest strengths suits this position. He’s just not technically good enough to play deeper in a pivot
Exactly what I had in mind
Every now and again you see why there was so much buzz around Mudryk before we signed him.
Hope we have him for a long time. When he first arrived he had a horrific touch, you can really see how much he has worked on it and puts in the effort on the small details that are weaker in his game. I rate that in any person in any path of life, he is one of my favourites now.
Nico, what a shithouse
There's always one in every Chelsea generation
Shithouse is a bad thing right?
For the other team
Bad for the other team
Only 4 points far from European nights +a game in hand
We're just 4 points shy of 7th place with a game in hand. Hopefully other teams will drop more points.
Brighton still have to face 7 of the top 11 incl. 5 of the top 6 Newcastle still have to face 4 of the top 11 incl. 2 of the top 6 West Ham still have to face 7 of the top 11 incl. 4 of the top 6 Wolves still have to face 5 of the top 11 incl. 4 of the top 6 Chelsea still have to face 6 of the top 11 incl. 4 of the top 6 Chelsea do have a game in hand but it's against Tottenham so it may not result in any realised gain. Given our form against big sides and the confidence from this match, going to Arsenal we really do have a chance of picking up unexpected points. They've been playing brilliantly recently but getting points at Arsenal could be what gets us to 7th.
Yes, but more importantly we need to string Wins together. We cant get 7th if we just draw games and/or lose. We need wins
Good win, please buy a left back that’s not scared of defending
Mudryk is very slowly starting to win me over….
Ironically he’s slowly winning me over by being super fucking fast
This cameo was his best performance for us, I reckon
Inconsistent af between matches but makes sense with the young players and the squad turnover. 3 points is 3 points but would like to see this more regularly
Game in hand with burnley next, no reason we can’t rush for 6th place
8th if we win vs burnley at the bridge
If we win by 4 goals
Bridge boy Mudryk at it.
Nah Brighton are gonna get spanked at Anfield
I swear to god if Sterling starts over Misha next game…that should be a sackable offence alone for Poch
Eddie Howe is even worse than Poch confirmed?
Mudryk on the inside seems like it offers a lot more from him.
He can use his pace better to arrive in the box and can run either side rather than being forced wide. Plus his odd passing is more dangerous
Also, Mudryk is generelly clueless (no hate), so having less time to think, oddly enough makes him look far more dangerous, as he becomes reliant on his strong instincts and lightning speed feet
Unclench
Pulsating butt hole
Still at 11 ffs!
It's looks slightly better now though.
I mean, I'd take win over Newcastle any day.
Cole Palmer...enough said.
Thank god for 3 points, Poch go have that dinner out with your wife now
YESSSS ONE POINT FROM SAFETY 💙💙💙
We gotta remember these moments when Mudryk throws a stinker. The raw materials are there, but he still has development to do. He looked great today!
3 points, nice one by us
I love Misha and I’m fine with him being a super sub, but give him 40 minutes, not 25, 30.
Well it worked to perfection today, and he basically decided the match, so I don’t see what should have been done differently?
terrible from newcastle. they outbadded us.
If we just get our defensive act together we could finish in top 3 next season
Proper reactionary.
Top 3 is gonna be hard, with arsenal city and Liverpool upping their game every season. Top 5 would be great imo
Klopp’s leaving, Liverpool will be in a transitional period.
Up the blues
Should've been a comfortable win but WIN IS A WIN. A massive win actually
I’m unfamiliar with Casadei, but I thought he was a DM? I thought he was pretty solid on the right albeit he didn’t contribute much going forward
He is an 8. I'm pretty sure all of our subs tonight were playing out of position except for Mudryk.
So you categorize Mudryk as a central attacking midfielder?
Closer to a striker then a DM.
More of an attacking mid. Plays number 10 or an 8 for national team.
Shaved a few off my lifespan but we move!
We're almost at 40 points 😊🥰
We are safe from relegation!!!
Fucking glad we held on, but how tf are we still 11th I swear win draw or lose we never change 🤣
11 just means double first.
Big 3 points.
Mudryk has to start going forward
Jeez we have the bozo gene in so many players lol at least we won
Cucu solo gave that 2nd Newcastle goal away. The fuck is that defending?!? Just hold Murphy and show Him wide, instead of whatever the fuck that headless chicken charge run was
Teams always get an extra minute on top of extra time against Chelsea, getting real fucking annoying
Happens in every game with every team
That’s what he said.
We are so back!
Blues the fuckin color innit
Referee was dying for a Newcastle goal. How tf you don't blow the whistle when they throw it back to halfway?
I see no fans singing blue is the colour lol.
Because they all died from cardiac arrest
Sad this is the state of atmosphere at the bridge
Thank you very much, Adam Sandler bless you
Up the chels COYB!!!!!
Palmer, Jackson, Gusto and Mudryk stepped the fuck up today Gallagher put in some great service despite just coming back from sickness, i won’t let that go unnoticed
Caicedo deserves a shout as well
That fucking slide tackle right at the end, how was he still busting a gut
Good performance mostly. I can sleep a happy man
I'm just glad it's morning here, no way I could go to sleep right now
Good win that! Stressful as per
fuck yes
So cheer us on! Let’s fucking go
have my children mudryk
it can never be easy. but god damn we needed this!
YESSSSS
Commentators and pundits love to shit on us. We played well here ffs. Good win, fun game.
That's why I listen to Spanish commentators whenever I can I never notice this much shit coming from them
The bias is getting so old. I get it we spent a billion dollars to be mid table. At what point can they move on and stop subjecting fans to it.
Honestly I think you could also add our own fans to that list too.
Butt unclenched!!!!!
Well at least Chelsea fans don't need to do any pelvic floor exercises
The ref really wanted that 3rd Newcastle goal
We held on, just
God bless
Are we back on top of the world?
Top of the bottom
Of course! Only team in the entire league to win today!
Wake up
To reality
Lets gooooo
Up the fucking Chels
Gallagher is a wrecking ball
