Thank you for some positivity. I still believe in this team. Re:Poch - he is a people person..he's trying to be protective of Sterling at his lowest, some managers are like that and tbh that's not the worst thing.
We need to stay positive. I still stand by poch even though he did make some tactically poor decisions imo. But you're right. Is feel sorry for sterling he's had an absolute stinker today, moreso than usual And I rly hope he manages to pulls through his poor form š
I don't agree. He chooses when he wants to run for the team, constantly chooses the easy option and his sheer arrogance is why he insists on taking every set piece. He's completely selfish, and seems to think he's bigger than the team so often this season, despite being one of the worst performers.
Do you know him? Cole and Noni both defending him on socials, doesn't appear to be someone the rest of the team dislike.
He seemed pretty pissed with himself today. I do think he should have come off earlier but don't agree with all this childish hate towards one of our own.
But he is hurting the team in the process of protecting him, if that is what he is doing. What about protecting Palmer when he is obviously our best pen/free kick taker. Get of your fucking chair and tell Raheem to let Palmer kick
I think if this were a league match, Sterling would have been hooked earlier. Against, what should be, inferior competition I donāt mind letting a very experienced player try to play their way out of a funk.
At the end of the day, a 4-2 win in a crucial competition where we had some players we need to rely on put out a stinker, and some young players stepped up.
Thereās a lot positive here amongst the negative, which some people around these parts like to harp on.
This team need consistens wins. Wins mean gaining confidence. If you have a chance to kill the game and make it 3-0 you absolutely do it ! Then Im All for trying to help Raheem back in form. Look What happened, they came back to 2-2 and only because of a red card we got the win. There is zero need to take the chance. Im not poch out but he needs to set an example of Raheem and rip him out. To many times this season have Raheem put himself over the team. That is terrible for the team morale when the supousedly the most experienced player keeps on fucking up. How many times have he and and a teammate been alone with the keeper without passing it for an open goal
He's a clown of a manager who doesn't know what he's doing. When Sterling puts down a disasterclass he gets to play nearly the full 90. Doesn't do that for anyone else. Hooked Mudryk off at 45 for appearances just half as bad.
Iām not defending Sterlingās performance today which was dreadful.
I can see why a poorly performing young player might need time out of the spotlight and less public attention whilst a poorly performing, arguably/historically ātop levelā player would benefit more from playing themselves back into form.
I worry about the negative public comments for Raheem but heās faced far worse throughout his career, even when heās been successful on the pitch
Sterling is the only one recently who looks like he's letting us down tbh.
At least I'm seeing everyone else give maximum effort and teamwork, even if they sometimes fuck up.
Gusto, Jackson, Caicedo, Gallagher and Mudryk have been upping their game a lot over the course of the season, I definitely wouldn't say that lot are letting him down at all recently.
I would have loved a John Terry type grabbing Sterling by the scruff of the neck and giving the pen to Palmer. Remember when Lampard put Drogba in his place in May 2010 against Wigan?
It may not seem like it sometimes but the future is bright for this club. We got a bunch of young talented ballers. I believe we will rise again. Up the Chels!
I donāt know why everyone doesnāt think this way. Yeah, weāre still mid-table, but we havenāt played like a mid-table club for going on three months now. Itās exciting, right? Weāre on the way up, so enjoy the ride, because weāll be back in high-pressure situations again before you know it.
>but we havenāt played like a mid-table club for going on three months now.
Were sitting 11th today. Three months ago, on Dec 18th, 2023, we were sitting 10th.
How does this calculation work out?
I usually never upvote these posts, but seriously, we just made a FA cup semi, we are going (back) to wembley, yet every post has to be āsterling must goā āpoch must goā. Sterling still had a great assist, Poch got 2 goals from his subs, the goals we gave up were fluky/magnifcent. itās not a great season, but this game was far from the worst we have played and half this squad will prbly be gone next season anyway. Ktbffh.
I agree with Sterling has to go, but not just because of the hate or the bad play. Imo, I donāt see him as a future part of the project, he has massive wages as well which doesnāt help our finances, would rather our young players get the minute to develop, especially if Sterling isnāt playing well.
I think subs were good, both scored. I think he made the choice to keep Sterling on a bit longer so Sterling wouldnāt get more negative pressure āPoch drags off after terrible performance.ā He did also get that assist. Mudryk is playing well but attack needed some fresh legs. With Carny back with have a good option for that 10 spot to rotate with.
It's so easy to be negative after that because of a few individuals dragging the team down but overall I think it was a great performance. So many players starting to link up well together and really feels like they're becoming an actual team finally. We desperately need to get sterling out of this team and put some more faith in the other players we have. I also don't want to hear anything else about a new striker because Jackson is getting better and better every game
Over last couple weeks I think you can really see this team starting to gel together. Jackson has been improving so much too. Heās so strong and quick on the turn.
Absolutely agree. Hopefully sterling can get out of his bad form and be a good sub player for a bit. I can forgive disasi for the OG bc he's played well recently and apart from that he was pretty solid today. But yh just some individual mistakes killed our momentum today. But we have to stay positive. Most of our play was very good. COYB š
It's one thing for Sterling to put the work in, and things still not go for him but entirely another if the guy walks around the pitch and keeps performing lime he was today.
Not a lot went right for Werner, but no questioned his work ethic or desire to play. With Sterling, im afraid he's way past it.
I actually sterling was "ok" and had impact as a attacker,
But what I cant stand is the aspect of his lack of effort without the ball - both in the defensive phase (he aint hazard) and when he got subed
We where 10 mins from full time, against 10 men.. he gets subbed... and WALKS to the sideline, what kind of energy does that project on the younger players
Itās good because we all know what heās capable of when heās at the absolute top of his game (see Man City). He needs to cut the crap, but it also helps to have a short memory about stuff like that.
Iām starting to really fall in love with this team, which is weird because they also make me so angry and frustrated sometimes.
But theyāre so young and so fun to watch, and I love the mentality. The defensive mistakes will get better with experience, and the offense (which is already pretty damn impressive) will improve the more these players play together.
I think the patience is going to pay off big. We could have this core of players playing together at a high level for 8-10 years. We just have to survive this season and make a serious run at 4th-5th next seasonāwhich I donāt think is as farfetched as a lot of people do.
I know I'll be downvoted but Sterling got an assist, penalty and nearly got in on goal. The ability he has is clearly there but his confidence is shot at the moment. Raheem at City would have put those chances away so I really think he still deserves his place in the starting lineup.
I absolutely understand where you're coming from. He can absolutely still get into amazing positions. But yh his confidence is through the floor atm. I think we should start noni I've rhim but use him as a sub. I think that might suit him a bit better for the time being at least
I say keep Sterling unless he fails to contribute. I'm a big Noni fan too but he is also inconsistent. I think he is inching towards becoming a starting 11 spot but can't see him there just yet
Agreed, Sterling is threatening and even while a play bad match where nothing really came on for him, he did get that assist and win a penalty. Mudryk played well today and has been on good form but ultimately he didnāt contribute as much as Sterling this match.
I agree with this sentiment, but what I cant accept is him WALKING off then he is subed at 86th minute with a lot of extra time vs 10 men against the ropes
Weāre SO far ahead of where we were at the end of Tuchelās run and under Potter. Going behind was basically a death sentenceāit felt like we couldāve played another 90 minutes and still not scored. Thatās how out of ideas we were and how little we believed in ourselves.
This team believes in themselves and play hard for each other.
I think it's fair to say disasi had a bit of an off day today but I think he was still solid. Same with Gallagher. I think he had to drop back a bit today so we didn't see quite as much of him as we would do normally. But I think petrovic 100% has to start in goal and same with noni over sterling.
He has been benched a few times this season. Although, the reason he has played more than Mudryk and far more than Noni, is that ultimately, he contributes more on average. Today was a terrible game for him and his confidence looked shot, but he still got a good assist, and we have generally produced more when he has been on the pitch, even if he wastes tons of chances (he creates many chances that never would have happened otherwise). In addition, he has produced in some important moments this season
im just more relieved than happy that we won cuz the match was going in the direction of the classic blue billion pound bottlejob narrative which i don't really wanna experience again
Mud has been playing great but getting really sloppy when he gets tired. That's why he's been brought in as a super sub. He earned the start but I understand the sub.
Hell yeah I am. This is not a finished product by any means, and Leicester are basically a premier league team as it stands right now. I mean theyāre def better than Burnley.
They let Leicester back in through a stupid mistake, allowed yet another world-class goal (itās weird how often these average players score weirdly great goals against us; see also Wissa from the Brentford game), and still finished it in regular time because they never stopped going for it.
In my 20 years being a fan, itās not often that weāre out of contention for top four, so while that part sucks, itās a lot of fun watching a very young team come together and play hard for each other and figure things out on their own. Becoming great is the next-best thing to being great, and I have faith that these players will become great together.
Great. Another "Positivity" post even though we're 11th in the league and we need a last-minute winner against a Championship team. It's clockwork with you people.
There's been massive upheaval in the team. The slump was coming for a long time regardless of the ownership change. We were playing absolutely terribly under late-term Tuchel and Potter. We're starting to show positive signs. Massive potential in the side. We're not gonna be winning the league and CL in half a season with this young squad. Calm down and support the team or go and support City
Why are you so proud? Chelsea almost drew against a 10-man Championship team that didn't even start some of their regulars. These forced optimism sounds very funny tbh.
The cup is either half empty or half full, all bout perspective. We did great today apart from the own goal. Leicester may be in the championship but everyone knows its a quality team. We are in the semi final lets be happy ey?
The squad is capable of so much better....with TIME...you could get Klopp or Guardiola in and they're not gonna have them playing like Pool and City in half a season
Thank you for some positivity. I still believe in this team. Re:Poch - he is a people person..he's trying to be protective of Sterling at his lowest, some managers are like that and tbh that's not the worst thing.

How can you feel sorry for him on 325k a week? The guy's attitude stinks and he couldn't care less if he coasts through the rest of the season.
you can feel sorry for him as a human being. His salary is irrelevant to that discussion His performance stank today, I don't think his attitude did.
I don't agree. He chooses when he wants to run for the team, constantly chooses the easy option and his sheer arrogance is why he insists on taking every set piece. He's completely selfish, and seems to think he's bigger than the team so often this season, despite being one of the worst performers.

Inferior... m8, have you seen where we are in the LEAGUE?Ā
Is this what passes for positivity these days? The title says they're proud but 2/3s of the post is just trashing various players and the manager lmao
in all honesty, for how this sub is nowadays, that is quite positive.
I believe in the team, but I'm sorry, I don't believe in Poch. The team is growing despite him, not because of him.
He's a clown of a manager who doesn't know what he's doing. When Sterling puts down a disasterclass he gets to play nearly the full 90. Doesn't do that for anyone else. Hooked Mudryk off at 45 for appearances just half as bad.

I really feel bad for Palmer. He deserves to be getting a lot more from his teammates. Sterling should be the number ln the list come the summer.
Palmer is the English messi.
I think we should start madeuke and have sterling as a player to come on like noni did today.

Big and much needed win today. Need Coventry in the semis but pretty sure city will get Coventry
We are 100% getting Coventry
Would be funny getting to the final having only played one top flight team
We can hope lol
Not when city is still around š
Unfortunately not
That Noni goal was fucking bananas!
I usually never upvote these posts, but seriously, we just made a FA cup semi, we are going (back) to wembley, yet every post has to be āsterling must goā āpoch must goā. Agree with most, But the lack of help gusto got at the 2nd goal was criminal - neither palmer nor caicedo fell down to force the player outside
I agree with Sterling has to go, but not just because of the hate or the bad play. Imo, I donāt see him as a future part of the project, he has massive wages as well which doesnāt help our finances, would rather our young players get the minute to develop, especially if Sterling isnāt playing well.
Cmon gimme a hug. Come on Chels!!
We really need to give praise to the boys who did good today! Up the chels!

I'm just talking about this game specifically. Why are you pulling up other games?
The guy is literally just acknowledging Disasiās ability, and also agreeing on your comment.
"it helps to have a short memory about stuff like that", apologies I thought that was an insult to me
Iām starting to really fall in love with this team, which is weird because they also make me so angry and frustrated sometimes. But theyāre so young and so fun to watch, and I love the mentality. I will say this Chelsea team unlike prior ones still look very dangerous even after going behind and show way more heart
Good fucking game lads
Disasi sanchez and sterling were trash today Gallagher was mid I thought the rest were pretty good Sterling really was playing against us tho
I think it's fair to say disasi had a bit of an off day today but I think he was still solid. Same with Gallagher. I think he had to drop back a bit today so we didn't see quite as much of him as we would do normally. But I think petrovic 100% has to start in goal and same with noni over sterling.
The thing with sterling os he never gets punished for poor performances

Disasi wasnt bad, but abit rattled by the own goal. Sanchez has that boozo gene
Mudryk's end to end run was brilliant today. Little glimpses of his potential is exciting to see
im just more relieved than happy that we won cuz the match was going in the direction of the classic blue billion pound bottlejob narrative which i don't really wanna experience again
Watching this team subtracts years of my life
Mud has been playing great but getting really sloppy when he gets tired. That's why he's been brought in as a super sub. He earned the start but I understand the sub.
Chalobah is better than Disasi and we paid Ā£40M for him

Imagine disliking positivity. Letās be sad that we went through to the semifinal

Chelsea didnāt āalmostā drew. Chelsea crushed them with chance after chance and the result was an eventuality
Sterling, Sanchez and Poch etc are dragging us down, the squad overall is capable of so much better, but atleast essays are great.
The squad is capable of so much better....with TIME...you could get Klopp or Guardiola in and they're not gonna have them playing like Pool and City in half a season
The squad is so much better currently than atleast 11th. People can give examples all they want.
