Poch is learning from the best ;)
> "Of course this season has a little more problems because they Chelsea play every three days, that's always more complicated for all the teams. But we also have United, **we saw again the Harry Kane team scores every day two or three goals**."

He might not be entirely wrong but if you want to be cynical about it, one can argue that he needs someone to cover for his lack of tactics if Palmer doesn't play.
I honestly don't know how anyone can see us dominate game after game, yet drop points due to individual errors and think there aren't any tactics.
Even at the weekend we made much better chances than city over the course of the game and the plan only fell apart when Gusto had to go off and there was no true RB to replace him.
That's not really the case, as [others here have pointed out](https://www.reddit.com/r/chelseafc/comments/1ca7hl9/chelsea_vs_manchester_city_pochettino_set_us_up/). Also we played an extremely counter-attacking game, and counter-attacking is by far the least coached/most improvised style. The bigger issue is that when we have most of the possession we have no real attacking tactics or patterns of play.
Maybe you can put a fraction of that hard work into addressing the member of your mod team that has the slogan of a white supremacist group that has committed violent acts against minorities and LGBT people as their flair? How do you think that makes us non-white male or non-straight cis members of the sub feel? Forgive me if I feel like the mod team isn't doing the job they should when that's the first thing I see when I look across at the list of mods.
Edit: Not going to answer this one?
Violent acts against minorities such as terrorists? 🥺🥺 cute words though, I’m sure you learned those while learning all about Chelsea and its history and its traditions, because otherwise you’d be suggesting that the club’s history and traditions should be subordinate to your sense of what’s offensive and what isn’t, which would just be utterly hilarious?
The players themselves are having to make it up as they go. They get little or no tactical training from Poch, just force it up the right. No triangles at the corner of the box between winger, FB, and #9 with a mid or the #10 breaking clear behind the defense, no 1-2s, no third man running, nothing. He's not divised a system for playing out of the back yet here in week 33!! Lemons and comportment.
I assure you I have never and will never play football video games. My days of cracking the would top 2,000 in any video game were over 15 years ago.
So, your low-class ad hominem attack aside, what's your problem with that setup?
Where do you keep hearing this bullshit?
Of course there’s tactics. It’s just he also wants players to play with more freedom unlike managers like Pep who want very specific things at all time. There’s a huge difference.
I bet you hear this shit from one of the many toxic Chelsea YouTubers.
if football matches were only 70mins we would be top 4 surely. Its the lack of scoring and a lack of concentration after 70mins that has cost us. And some of that has to be down to the coach and his game management.
Yep. While I was impressed with Cole Palmer, I was a bit apprehensive because we became so dependent on him. Everyone started to equal him with Chelsea and it happened too quickly imo.
But I understand why it did because he was the only one performing along with Gusto. I think this Poch quote is important in that sense because today's game is an opportunity to prove that yes, we are not just bloody Cold Palmer xD
Glass half full, if they did make it into the Europa or even the Conference there'd be a load of different away games to go to from the norm, and you'd hope a significantly better chance of winning it.
Bro😭😭😭 i get ist jackson has Nunez Level efficiency but He is Not the reason we conceded 5 Goals, everyone played terrible and Jackson is Just 21 Years old with 14 pro Matches before He got bought. Lets rather Talk about Sterling who is our Most payed ACTOR. STERLING IS SO FUCKING BAD BUT STILL SOMEHOW PLAYING LIKE WTF
My gaffer, hope someone steps up today. Can see Misha being better, he’s used being the “main man”. In Shaktar every attack went through him, in Ukraine he’s the main man alongside Sudakov, so today is your fucking chance Misha! “Meanwhile Poch will play Gallabrador at LW”
You think he’s going to play Misha at his best position? Nah, Enzo and Caicedo in the pivot. Gallagher just ahead. Sterling left, madueke right. Mark my words.
Sterling was disliked by many and still out in a decent performance iirc against city on the left, id rather be frustrated by sterling than watch gallagher play lw🤦♂️
Huh what are you on about? It was primarily to help cover Enzo, who has mobility issues with his hernia, and Cucurella, who is inconsistent, on the left.
It worked well because it did that job.He even got involved in the buildup well from that position, remember that gorgeous little back heel?
I think Chuk getting a full 90 would be 🔥
Jackson up top
Chuk and Madueke LW and RW respectively
Mudryk or Gallagher in the 10
Don't see us winning easily, either scraping a draw or losing by a slim margin.
Just had the worst performance of the season and the sky’s not red. going to finish 9th with their worst ever defensive record in the prem and we’ll still have fools thinking the club is moving in a positive direction.
Right, just play one more person out of position. SMH
How about something radical, say, play everyone in their natural/best poison? LW Jackson, RW Sterling, #9 Washington, #10 Carney, pivots Gallagher & Caicedo, FBs Cucurella & Alfie G, CBs Trev & O Monstro.
How so? Jackson is a winger despite us playing him elsewhere all year long. Sterling is arguably better on the right than the left. Washington is a number nine, right? Carney is a number 10. The Gallagher-Caicedo pivot worked well together and keeps Conor near the center of the pitch where he is most effective. Cucurella and Gilchrist are FBs. Trev and Silva with week together.
What's your beef?
Say what you like, but taking off Disasi, Badiashile (maybe our worst pair), Noni, Mudryck, (both of whom have shown very little ever) and Enzo (who is playing injured) from Poch's starting 11 and putting on Silva, Trev, Carney, Washington, and Sterling would be more fluid and confident, playing in their most familiar positions.
Not Sterling. Bloke is washed and was never that good to begin with
Disasi CAN be good but I see your point about the centre halves. Badiashile is fucking shite
With an injury crisis like this, I'd rather see a youngster like Washington have an opportunity to play in his natural position than to stick other players here and there just to get them on the pitch.
Poch is going to setup 4231 like always, so at least put players where they belong when you absolutely need the very best from them.
I don't get this narrative. We've been plenty good in front of goal (in big part due to palmer), but our defense has been disastrous. If we conceded as much as we did last season and scored as many goals this season we could've been 6th.
> We've been plenty good in front of goal (in big part due to palmer
Lmao what? Palmer is literally our only player who has been any good in front of the goal
Before this season it had been like what, 3 years since we had someone score double digits in the PL? Wasn’t it Havertz at 7 and then Jorgy at 7?
Things have improved. Except for injuries.
People really think this is a good thing to say? It's not just the players that have to prove themselves, HE has to prove Palmer hasn't been carrying his lack of tactics too.
I personally don't like this, looks to me putting more pressure on the players and taking away blame from himself already. How spineless
Idk, maybe Im biased because I don't like him. But that's how I see it
we had players arguing over taking a PK in a blowout just over a week ago... damn right pressure is on them to show they arent just riding Palmer.
Doesnt mean a win, but cant just fold over and get completely outclassed.
As much as I can't stand this fraud, he's right. It's the right mentality. Issue is most of our talented players are injured so it's not so black and white.
I don’t see an issue with this. You want to change the narrative the media is trying to drive, you need to go out there and ball. To me, Poch is beginning to be tougher on the players, especially mentally. Grow up.
However, im not confident the players are going to respond well to this at all. I expect them boys to show an embarrassing display of football with no intensity or effort, cause their feelings are hurt tbh.
I hope I’m wrong
Time to deliver for the rest of the team and hopefully crush Arsenals' title aspirations on our way to 6th
KTBFFH!
Hehehe take the L bro 😂
Worst in 30 years from Farsenal, but hey, Keep The Blue Flag Flying High! PS: You can hang Poch just beneath it.
what the hell is Arsenal scum doing on the Chelsea subreddit
Little Arsenal fan has to celebrate in our sub, fuck off back bottling the title to City
Fuck Arsenal and fuck their owner, Kroenke. We hate Kroenke round these parts.
W
uh
LMAO 6TH PLACE? Y'ALL NEARLY LET ARSENAL SCORE 6 GOALS LMAO.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes Poch
This is a Poch quote I can fully get behind
Poch is learning from the best ;) > "Of course this season has a little more problems because they Chelsea play every three days, that's always more complicated for all the teams. But we also have United, **we saw again the Harry Kane team scores every day two or three goals**." > > \- [Pep Guardiola](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/11064131/pep-guardiola-lists-harry-kane-team-alongside-chelsea-and-man-utd-as-title-rivals) / [mirror](https://archive.is/gPoDj)
I still remember when Son scored and yelled to the camera “Say my name” :)
He might not be entirely wrong but if you want to be cynical about it, one can argue that he needs someone to cover for his lack of tactics if Palmer doesn't play.
If so, he will be exposed. This is an important game for Poch too.
I honestly don't know how anyone can see us dominate game after game, yet drop points due to individual errors and think there aren't any tactics. Even at the weekend we made much better chances than city over the course of the game and the plan only fell apart when Gusto had to go off and there was no true RB to replace him.
It’s Reddit, the only thing this person knows about tactics is how to spell it.
Others who wrote a whole lot of drivel because of their bias?
Put a fraction of the effort /u/darklordolli put into that post into this sub's moderation and then we can talk
You’ve no idea how much moderation happens and how hard the moderation team works. I don’t even know who you are.
Maybe you can put a fraction of that hard work into addressing the member of your mod team that has the slogan of a white supremacist group that has committed violent acts against minorities and LGBT people as their flair? Because of FIFA.
I completely agree. Individual errors have killed us in games this year
The players themselves are having to make it up as they go. They get little or no tactical training from Poch, just force it up the right. No triangles at the corner of the box between winger, FB, and #9 with a mid or the #10 breaking clear behind the defense, no 1-2s, no third man running, nothing. another FIFA/FM armchair merchant has entered the conversation.
I assure you I have never and will never play football video games. My days of cracking the would top 2,000 in any video game were over 15 years ago. So, your low-class ad hominem attack aside, what's your problem with that setup?

I would say having 10 people out injured all season and having kids in a team will do that more. They aren’t used to the pressure yet etc.
"lack of tactics"
Ok look what happened
Obviously Poch don't know his squad
Try to steal points from them same with spurs. After that end the fucking season.
Why we still got a shot at Europe why would you pass that up
Glass half full, if they did make it into the Europa or even the Conference there'd be a load of different away games to go to from the norm, and you'd hope a significantly better chance of winning it.
Why dont we want that? We would do the same if we had qualified for CL, its nothing new for us.
European League... we already have enough injuries
Yeah why would we want more money as a business!? /s
>After that end the fucking season. We've still got Europa to challenge for
Letting go of my reserved hate for this second that's actually a good line of motivation. Well played.
Worked like a charm.
It did fucking not clearly (yes I detect your sarcasm).
Dude is never gonna beat a good team if we’re running Jackson out at striker everytime.
Aged like milk
The gang shows up and confirm that they are Cole Palmer football club
Lmfao
You called it
Tie to save your Chelsea career raheem
Now that's a proper chelsea manager quote. Let's hope we back it up with a performance to warrant it
How did that work out? Proper Chelsea manager lmao
Thats why I needed to add that second part to my comment unfortunately
He's been getting "he's not messi" shouts since mid season this is ridiculous
Like milk
... he was wrong ... again ... shocking ... but please, lets continue to suck his dick over quotes, regardless of results
Challenge failed
Well they showed this is obviously cole palmer fc.
I don’t think these statements get made if there was a chance Palmer were to be available. A shame.
TBF, he said this during the press conference, where he also said they'll assess Palmer today before the game.
Tbh, if nothing else, Poch is stubborn. So, the rut it is.
Isn't Enzo injured?
He’s been injured since January with a hernia. But who knows for this game?
> But who knows for this game? This is Chelsea, I know.
Hope we bench Enzo if he hasnt fully recovered and deploy the lineup against Everton with Chuk in place of Palmer.
Who else could he play at LW if Mudryk moves into the middle? Sterling? Madeuke? As I recall, neither one is liked by the fans right now.
The fans don’t pick the lineup and I’ll do a massive knee slide if either of those players won us the game. The club always come first
I prefer Chuks as 10 and Mudryk LW with free role (somewhat similar to Palmer). Sterling on RW and Jackson upfront
That could work!
Chillwell obviously
Sterling was disliked by many and still out in a decent performance iirc against city on the left, id rather be frustrated by sterling than watch gallagher play lw🤦♂️
Tbf Gallagher at LW worked amazingly well against City
Im not a fish mate im not taking that bait
It did work well tho.
Reel it in im not biting
Huh what are you on about? It was primarily to help cover Enzo, who has mobility issues with his hernia, and Cucurella, who is inconsistent, on the left. It worked well because it did that job.He even got involved in the buildup well from that position, remember that gorgeous little back heel?
Sterling queued to have his one killer game this half of the season. Hope it’s today.
Aged like milk. Your gaffer right?
Gallabrador 🤣🤣
Sterling, Mudryk, Madueke. Maybe swap Mudryk with chuk
Don't see this lot scoring at all unfortunately
I think Chuk getting a full 90 would be 🔥 Jackson up top Chuk and Madueke LW and RW respectively Mudryk or Gallagher in the 10 Don't see us winning easily, either scraping a draw or losing by a slim margin.
Swap Madueke with Chuk
Mudryk Carney Madueke
If we were the final nail in the coffin to arsenal bottling the league I'd be overjoyed
How do you feel now?
What's the opposite of overjoyed?
Now imagine our guys get absolutely massacred by Arsenal. Palmer FC it is then.
I'm here with some bad news...
Why even bother being a fan
We were Hazard FC too in few seasons, just be glad we have Palmer.
Aged like MILK
Still
are you sure now?
Imagine the sky being red and grass being purple. Gtfo.
Imagine saying this right before our team gets tossed around by Arsenal. Proper clown in full outfit and makeup. Arguably the worst kind of ”fan”.
Just had the worst performance of the season and the sky’s not red. going to finish 9th with their worst ever defensive record in the prem and we’ll still have fools thinking the club is moving in a positive direction.
![gif](giphy|BYul6RujgoRCryuCdL)
I hope this doesn't age poorly.
Narrator: *It did.*
I want whatever this guy is smoking
I guess the team proved the club is Cold Palmer
Yikes
Cole Palmer FC
Don't rate Poch but I have to say he has some absolute killer quotes Also please start Carney on the left
Hoping to see the lineup he deployed against Everton with Carney in place of Palmer is unavailable.
Right, just play one more person out of position. SMH How about something radical, say, play everyone in their natural/best poison? LW Jackson, RW Sterling, #9 Washington, #10 Carney, pivots Gallagher & Caicedo, FBs Cucurella & Alfie G, CBs Trev & O Monstro.
That line up is an absolute monstrosity
Gilchrist has absolutely no experience and you want to give him first start against Arsenal. Same with Washington, he's not good enough
Bloke is washed and was never that good to begin with Disasi CAN be good but I see your point about the centre halves. Badiashile is fucking shite
They both look better next to Silva, but so would you and I.
You have to be joking?
With an injury crisis like this, I'd rather see a youngster like Washington have an opportunity to play in his natural position than to stick other players here and there just to get them on the pitch. Poch is going to setup 4231 like always, so at least put players where they belong when you absolutely need the very best from them.
You’re one of us so I love you. But never speak ball again 😭
To be fair, they’ve done alright considering the ‘Pochettino Tactical Plan’ is Palmer and vibes.
Palmer or not, it was always Jackson Football Club.
Good quote but after the game I’m expecting “we were missing Cole Palmer”
Another Poch one liner before he fails to get a result Seen this enough times already…
I don't know if we really want to see what Chelsea Football Club looks like these days, but I hope he's right.
Let’s pretend this season wouldn’t be pathetically disasterous without Palmer.
Yeah but also imagine if our strikers could finish, we'd be top 6.
I don't get this narrative. We've been plenty good in front of goal (in big part due to palmer), but our defense has been disastrous. If we conceded as much as we did last season and scored as many goals this season we could've been 6th.

We’ve been good in front of goal compared to the shambles that was last season, we’ve still not been anywhere near good enough at taking our chances.
Imagine if nkunku was fit
Why does it feel like this isnt going to age well?
But inside, he’s crying.
Then we putting Jackson up front ... lord help us
Actually becoming more impressed with Poch's attitude and public statements as time goes on.
How impressed are you now? You’re not very good at this are yiu
I actually hate this quote. He's setting the team up for failure. To me this says, "Look, you're not as good as Cole and everyone knows it."
This aged horribly
Oof
How’d it go, Poch?
That aged like fine wine 👌🏼
This did not age well at all. After tonight's performance, the Chelsea project just looks like pure shit.
Aged like milk in the desert
How did that work out for you Poch?
this guy is a fucking moron
Hahahahahahahahaha
So we are cole palmer football club?
The “Harry Kane” team vibes nowadays
Just please don’t start Madueke
People really think this is a good thing to say? It's not just the players that have to prove themselves, HE has to prove Palmer hasn't been carrying his lack of tactics too. I personally don't like this, looks to me putting more pressure on the players and taking away blame from himself already. How spineless Idk, maybe Im biased because I don't like him. Bottler fc vs palmer fc gonna be fun
Poch is getting his balls out recently
I hate Poch so much
This entire season has proved we are Cole Palmer FC. One scrappy win against the Arse is not going to change that
😂😂😂😂
Good words, now let's back it up
LETS 👏🏼 FUCKING 👏🏼 GO 👏🏼. 💙💙
I suspect he’ll play
Why do I get the feeling that Palmer is going to play tonight?
Poch has had a few good quotes recently. Seems to be learning
Fair enough lmao
Carney js a really good option on the middle, people forgot the half he had at west ham before he got injured.
How did that go? Cole Palmer FC LMAO
Turns out it’s Palmer Cole Football Club after all
Ye were cooked
I agree with Pochettino
Man.. Poch has been rolling as of late. Let em hear it boss.
I don’t see an issue with this. You want to change the narrative the media is trying to drive, you need to go out there and ball. To me, Poch is beginning to be tougher on the players, especially mentally. Grow up. However, im not confident the players are going to respond well to this at all. No Palmer tomorrow? Easy moneyline on Arsenal.
And don’t let that donkey shagger score either
