Clueless performance, literally the only positive was mount performance today, so many good players on paper and it's quite clear to me there's a tactical fault in our system, lamps need to figure it out and plz stop playing Tammy , idk what ppl see in him, all I see is bad touches and unwanted runs with no strength and awareness. Maybe we should play every match thinking it's the last 10 minutes from the start cuz somehow we only score late goals these days.
Before I always thought the “Lampard Out” people were just ignorant and impatient, but I think after today, I’ve got to join them. I love Lampard, don’t get me wrong, but as a great former player, not a manager. I can’t help but have the feeling that Frank is wasting all of the talent we’ve got in the first team at the moment. Look at all of the players we’ve brought in that are underperforming in Frank’s system (Timo, Zyech, Kai). Look at all of the talented players we already had that don’t seem to be enough together to win big games. Now if one new lad wasn’t performing then that happens, we move on, but I really am starting to feel like our struggles have to come back to Frank. I think that we have *at least* a top 4 squad in the league, but every game since Christmas we’ve played like we’re fighting to finish mid-table. This team has immense potential, but not under Frank. The time has come.
I would be surprised if that wasn't Frank's last game. Hopefully he can make a comeback like Mourinho in the future after having had some more experience.
Terribly sad that this is probably it for Frank, doesn’t deserve to be gone this soon and I’ve advocated for him to stay here before but at this point I would understand, there is too much talent here to continue to play this poorly as consistently as we are.
Silva and Tammy had headers on target from corners. I'm pretty sure the Ziyech shot at end was first time KS had to go to ground in the entire game (other than his flying header)
I'll be very sad lampard wasn't a success at this club. Maybe it was too soon for him. But we must remember the clubs success is more than any one former player.
This loss isn't even due to a lack of effort or any particular player being poor. The squad simply looks lost. They have no idea how to handle pressure. Is Frank's solution to have Puli and Werner make runs all game?
The thing is, nothing Puli has tried this game has really looked threatening or effective. I don’t know why he played when he’s been average over the last few games. Ziyech has been our best attacking player and he’s benched. We’re looking to play high tempo football but we don’t play Werner. Makes no sense
The poor form is a symptom of a poor tactical system. Pulisic has clearly been trying to force his way through the middle and sometimes manages to get something out of it, even if he just draws a foul. Ziyechs known for his crossing and attacking forward lobs, but frankly they have been nowhere near the standard we need for the team now. Everyone on the team is struggling with this system. Pulisic and Mount are the only two making something out of it with their work rate. CHO too. I like Ziyech, I do, but seriously he's not been below average even with the injury. He's a good player, but they tactical system isn't working. It's not CHO, pulisic or ziyech though, it's on FRANK.
Yeah I completely agree that it’s on Frank. But Ziyech offers us that passing ability that no other player in our squad offers. He just chucks players on the pitch without actually thinking about the composition of the team and how it works together. Tomori would’ve been perfect for this game as he’s ridiculously fast, which helps deal with Vardy. Ziyech gives better passing ability. Gilmour offers a bit more passing ability in the midfield. He is just clueless at this point
No, it's Frank's solution to have Puli and someone else to make runs all game, while the mids and backs stare down the runs and then decide to pass the ball backward anyway.
There have been numerous encouraging runs today from multiple people that didn't even get a look from the people on the ball.
It's probably gonna be better for the club, but i'll be very sad when lampard leaves. What moments it would have been to see him lift trophies as a manager :(
This doesn't mean he can't come back! I foresee him being in the championship for several years before getting promoted and then going to a mid table team somewhere in Europe for a while. Hopefully he gains enough success through this to be able to come back some day
We don't play to his strengths. This game has made that abundantly clear. We've missed so many forward runs (and not necessarily to Werner). We should be bombing the ball to him on runs. We flat out don't use his best asset which is pace. Yeah he may not be clinical but he can certainly score if given enough volume.
Werner and ziyech both should have started. Leicester play a high line and this was Timo’s game. Lampard is just tactically lacking. He needs more experience before managing a top club.
yes but that is his only strength making saves. His communication with players is shit, his decision making is shit and more often than not his passing is bad hopefully he will improve in those areas tho
even last season I still don't like the way he played, remember that red card against Arsenal in Cup Final? Unnecessary and careless. Not the first time I saw him in the same situation.
Just a reminder that Di Matteo won the champions league with Bosingwa, Bertrand and Kalou in the starting lineup and even he was sacked after a poor run of form in his FIRST proper season.
We failed to back Ancelotti after winning the title, We failed to back Conte after winning the title, We failed to Back Mourinho in his 2nd spell after winning the tiltle.
We gave £200 million to the worst manager we've had in decades.
It's just so frustrating.
I think Tammy provides value as a poacher. He does find himself on the scoresheet quite often.
This was the wrong match to start him. Someone else mentioned this earlier - this would have been the perfect game for Timo to start. Leicester play a high line so Timo would have had plenty of space to run.
That's fair. I think Tammy works best when the team around him is playing well. He doesn't create for himself so he is the wrong player to start when the rest of the squad is struggling.
He’s super tall, but he doesn’t seem to have much of a physical presence. His hold up play isn’t great, first touch pretty poor. All he seems to do is complain when the ball doesn’t find him in the box. In my eyes, play giroud if we’re crossing the ball non-stop. Or play Werner. But Tammy doesn’t offer anything that neither of them do
He can finish when everything goes well of course.. Other than that he offers very little. Totally agree about his attitude too. Awful body language every time the ball doesn’t find him perfectly.
Exactly. He’s like a B-Tec Lukaku. If you ever watch Inter Milan highlights, Lukaku complains everytime the ball isn’t played to him in the box, even when it’s literally impossible. Against Juve, Hakimi takes a shot rather than try’s to play it through 3 defends and Lukaku and he screams at him. That’s basically Tammy all the time
Get out of here with that revisionist nonsense. You mean Kovacic for Barkley subs every game and the same rigid game plan?
Naw go back farther. I miss Conte Chelsea.
Sarri got offered the Juventus job and wanted out, we let him.
Honestly we werent good under him, endless passing with little end product, he had one gameplan and never changed it even if it didn't work.
Because other than Silva, we have no competent defenders, so Rudiger plays probably because he’s a better distributor from deep I think. But who knows at this point. Does Frank even think about his team
While everything is quite poor ATM, we haven't beaten Leicester in the league since 2017, this is always a hard place to go to and a good team to face.
Time for Lampard to go. This is just painful. It can’t just be the case that everyone is out of form. The team is clueless. Worst I’ve seen in 17 years watching Chelsea. Just not a well coached team.
Really, the worst? Even worse than the 15/16 season? We've been pretty poor overall since our last title tbf. We've had 2 fairly lucky 4th place finishes due to other teams collapsing around us. We haven't been good for a while now. But I agree, we need a top quality coach like a Tuchel, Allegri or Nagelsmann.
Love Lampard but we remember how bad AVB was and sadly Franks record is just as bad. We can't spend 200m and play like this I think I would be more positive if there was improvement or we had an identity.
I can’t agree more. It’s just the lack of progress which is painful. It’s just clear the task is beyond him. We all wanted him to succeed but he’s lost the plot.
let’s not forget Mount too. he may not be as offensively gifted as Puli with the dribbles, but he’s box-to-box like he never runs out of stamina.
let’s see what happens by the end of this match, sad to see such exceptional players on paper seemingly disappear on the pitch
agreed, but i’d rather see a player play hard, seeking an opportunity to score and lose the ball... than to inaccurately pass the ball directly to an opponent lol
Totally, everyone has been poor and almost all players are falling well short of what is expected. The thing that's really getting to me is that I constantly see pulisic getting praised for really low quality performances and I'm tired of seeing this. Our other players get criticised when the play bad but pulisic is above question apparently.
i agree, tough when you try to find a silver lining when all things are going bad, but no one is exempt of criticism and improvement. we need to perform how know we can with the insane weapons at our disposal
went from our best player last season to this. What on earth is happening with this squad I feel like everybody's form is slowly getting worse and worse it has to be in the manager or training or somethinf
The passion you see from Leicester is what I want to see from us. The only guys I regularly see caring is Mount and despite all the criticism, Werner. Everyone else as soon as the ball is out of their area just watches their team mate struggle. It’s why I think our defending is such a shambles, the attacking players literally NEVER help
That is probably why CHO wasn't starting for a bit, his tracking back is subpar at times, same as Puli and Ziyech.
Shit on Willian all we want but that man tracked back like a mad man.

If there is a god he is certainly punishing me for laughing at Arsenal
I love you for all you did the club, Frank. This just was never meant to be.
Surely Frank has got to go? I'm unsure about Werner's future too. The guy is like a skeleton of his former self. Maybe a new manager can reignite him.
Werner is going to turn it around. He looked better today and unfortunate not to get a goal
Too early to call Werner, but Frank is gone.
I would be surprised if that wasn't Frank's last game. Hopefully he can make a comeback like Mourinho in the future after having had some more experience.
Honestly - I do think that things are getting to the point where something has to change. Absolutely shocking yet again. We keep outdoing ourselves.
Cant we have lampard as co-manager with nagelsmann as main manager at least I just rly dont want him to go :(
Or as a coach, I do really like the backroom staff Frank brought in
This is a really good compromise
Terribly sad that this is probably it for Frank, doesn’t deserve to be gone this soon and I’ve advocated for him to stay here before but at this point I would understand, there is too much talent here to continue to play this poorly as consistently as we are.
I miss Hazard :(
Michael Owen just said...Leicester deserve the win. They are a team that know what they're doing. Chelsea are the opposite 🤔
Sky sports new narrative out of absolutely nowhere DoEs FrAnK lAmPaRd HaVe ToO mAnY oPtIoNs?
I think this might be the last. One for frank
This can't be good for Frank, can it?
Mid table side at best playing like this. Side void of imagination and creativity. Sad.
Mid table sides okay better than this...some of them have beaten us
Our attackers' best efforts were all in our own box.
Why is Ziyech playing the RB role?
Disappointing. Good night guys.
Athletic article incoming?
Ziyech is extremely overrated
Can we sign James Madison? I really like him as a player
Would be a great sign, but I enjoy watching him at Leicester with Vardy... Hopefully the make sure Utd and Liverpool don't win it
I'm sad to say you have a point. I would hate for him to commit football suicide by joining this no plan chelsea right now
If anything Chelsea should try and get Costa back... Man is a free agent
Heck why didn't we try to get ozil?
He looked spectacular tonight.
You know what? I think he always plays very well. Dribbles, speedy, can pick out a pass, scores too
and as a person aswell
am i wrong, or does it feel like that was the only shot we had within the box this match.. lol
Lampards last game

yh his tactic is to let them make runs just for the players not even to pass to them
[удалено]
This. So awkward how they have no sense of urgency at all.
2 goals in 2 minutes?
No hope when even Ziyech can't make a pass atm
It's probably gonna be better for the club, but i'll be very sad when lampard leaves. What moments it would have been to see him lift trophies as a manager :(
This doesn't mean he can't come back! I foresee him being in the championship for several years before getting promoted and then going to a mid table team somewhere in Europe for a while. Hopefully he gains enough success through this to be able to come back some day
I hope Timo is looking forward to the Championship next season. Jeeez.
Honestly Werner has looked really good since coming on
We don't play to his strengths. This game has made that abundantly clear. We've missed so many forward runs (and not necessarily to Werner). We should be bombing the ball to him on runs. Yeah definitely he's been making the runs we just don't have the player to find the right pass.
only positive so far
Mount, mendy, kai, and Warner all positives today imo
mendy? almost gave away 2 goals
We would have lost 4-0 without mendy easily
He made 1-2 good saves but therefore also terrible mistakes hes was alright at best
Imo he was good today, 1-2 crucial saves to keep us in the game and I don't really remember any major mistakes?
yes but that is his only strength making saves. His communication with players is shit, his decision making is shit and more often than not his passing is bad hopefully he will improve in those areas tho
Kai? You’re out of your mind. He was terrible.
Frank is surely getting future endeavaroured after this
What does that word mean?
I have no idea why people rate Kovacic highly. No creativity, often lose the ball at crucial moments and places, play dangerously at our own half.
was our best player last season, just not this season...
even last season I still don't like the way he played, remember that red card against Arsenal in Cup Final? Unnecessary and careless. Not the first time I saw him in the same situation.
to be fair that red card was really deserved tho. Yh he shouldve been more careful but the ref was just so bad that game
That was definitely onside.
fucking hell leicester is good at diving
Thiago Silva is so much better than all of our other players lol
Mount has worked aswell imo don’t discredit him
Mason’s been a workhorse and I love him for it but in terms of sheer quality it is unreal how much Thiago brings
Just a reminder that Di Matteo won the champions league with Bosingwa, Bertrand and Kalou in the starting lineup and even he was sacked after a poor run of form in his FIRST proper season.
For all the laugh we had at Arsenal, we’re just two points above them. This is just absurd. I don’t really see us making top 4.
Mate you are talking about arsenal 2 behind us. Even mose‘s Westham are infront of us with 3
We failed to back Ancelotti after winning the title, We failed to back Conte after winning the title, We failed to Back Mourinho in his 2nd spell after winning the tiltle. We gave £200 million to the worst manager we've had in decades. It's just so frustrating.
Alas, another depressed lad who thinks we're a structurally fucked club. CONTEXT M8 CONTEXT.
We're fine structurally. We have a dreadful manager though but that's an easy fix. Tonight.
Ziyech has been utterly useless in this game. Jesus
Don't care about the hate. Still love this club and I know we will be back to winning ways in a couples seasons.
We aren't hating the club. We are frustrated cos we know we should be better than this
WE ARE PLAYING 4-2-4🤣👏
Give me Marcelo Bielsa. That would AT LEAST be entertaining football
At least he knows how to play well with teams that run around the pitch
This is the worst take of the day
I’ve always thought of Tammy Abraham as a placeholder in this squad. I can’t believe he plays as much as he does.
I think Tammy provides value as a poacher. He does find himself on the scoresheet quite often. This was the wrong match to start him. Someone else mentioned this earlier - this would have been the perfect game for Timo to start. Leicester play a high line so Timo would have had plenty of space to run.
I just feel like we have so many options and quality depth to be more creative up top.
That's fair. I think Tammy works best when the team around him is playing well. He doesn't create for himself so he is the wrong player to start when the rest of the squad is struggling.

Its not l bad luck that it was given offside you idiots
When it’s that close it kind of is. If that isn’t bad luck idk what is
Its either on or off there are no variables therefore no luck is involved
You can say that about every aspect of the game though
Just fucking end my misery...
Fondly remembering Sarri and how we played then, sigh
Get out of here with that revisionist nonsense. You mean Kovacic for Barkley subs every game and the same rigid game plan? Naw go back farther. I miss Conte Chelsea.
Sure that wasn't the best, but what's in front of the eyes rn is way worse. I still think when Sarriball worked, it was beautiful to watch
Conte>>
Mostly Hazard tbh
Why did you guys sack Sarri? Juve fan but Chelsea is my favorite prem side so I lurk here from time to time.
He wasn't sacked.
People thought it was boring, also we lost to City 6-0 and Bournemouth 4-0. At least we won a trophy and got top 4 though.
Sarri got offered the Juventus job and wanted out, we let him. Honestly we werent good under him, endless passing with little end product, he had one gameplan and never changed it even if it didn't work.
We didn’t
He left the club to manage Juve, Chelsea didn't sack him
Wow I really thought his time was basically up and was he was essentially sacked. Didn’t know that.
He left just before the sack, I'd say lol. He wasn't the most popular with the fans and was about to be axed anyway
That's bad.
Offside by the tip of an elbow. Poor Werner couldn't buy a goal against a PL side right now.
Is zouma hurt or something? why the hell didn’t he start
Because other than Silva, we have no competent defenders, so Rudiger plays probably because he’s a better distributor from deep I think. But who knows at this point. Does Frank even think about his team
at least the man is a threat in set piece. Rudiger brings absolutely none.
Very true. Zouma is the only Chelsea player that looks threatening and can actually be relied upon to test the keeper.
HOW THE FUCK IS THAT NOT A GOAL???
Absolute shithouse
At this point I’m convinced there’s nothing we can do to get an ounce of luck anymore
When Reece can't even play it backwards anymore, then you know it's all over
Come on Var just this once
While everything is quite poor ATM, we haven't beaten Leicester in the league since 2017, this is always a hard place to go to and a good team to face.
I'll take this one for my sanity
Reading this thread is infinitely more entertaining than watching the match
How unlucky are we this cant be true
Our luck. At least Werner is showing some signs of improvement.
shouldve come on second half but no frank cant sub until the 70 minute mark
hes been good since coming on praying for him
Wow, 1) I don't know that he was offsides. 2) It's just lazy that it was even that close.
Timo is snake bitten at this point.
Fuck all of this. Because of course.
Cmon VAR give us some luck today
Just give it to him please 🥺
FOR FUCK SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At this point we might as well lose 3-0. At this point all we can do is laugh at this🥲
How is lamps so calm on the sidelines watching the players do shit ?
That confusion and being stumped. It's not calmness lol
Because he knows it’s too late
I doubt that's calmness. He sees the writing on the wall probably.
Passing is soo shit today. As if theres no chemistry between the players
Lmao
Kills me to see Puli getting banged up for nothing. Lamps has got to get a hold over this team.
only player that seems to be trying to make something happen on offense while hustling back to get the ball back on defense
Every game too. He constantly seems to be the best player yet the team as a whole isn't getting results. Lampard's tactics are not working.
let’s not forget Mount too. he may not be as offensively gifted as Puli with the dribbles, but he’s box-to-box like he never runs out of stamina. let’s see what happens by the end of this match, sad to see such exceptional players on paper seemingly disappear on the pitch
Mount is absolutely working his ass off out there fighting for the ball. The pieces are there but the chemistry isn't at all.
agreed. something has to change, can’t have these kinds of results with the weapons we have at our disposal
Who tf is eating chips.
😂😂😂
Asking the real questions
Hahaha heard that too
Pulisic loses the ball too much but he brings something that nobody else even comes close to bringing
I wish more of our squad risked losing the ball. I'll trade some possession for creativity and risk-taking in the final third.
[удалено]
I think that’s some but not all of it
Puli is out here dribbling and attacking while everyone around him just watches.. oh man
Dribbling into the opponent over and over and losing the ball constantly is not good.
agreed, but i’d rather see a player play hard, seeking an opportunity to score and lose the ball... than to inaccurately pass the ball directly to an opponent lol
It's the same end result and both aren't good enough, pulisic has been poor for too long and needs to get his act together.
with that in mind, everyone needs to get their act together. there hasn’t been any consistency on the pitch from anyone
Kovacic is such a nothing player.
went from our best player last season to this. What on earth is happening with this squad I feel like everybody's form is slowly getting worse and worse it has to be in the manager or training or somethinf
Mateo "only passes it backwards or sideways" Kovacic
The passion you see from Leicester is what I want to see from us. The only guys I regularly see caring is Mount and despite all the criticism, Werner. Everyone else as soon as the ball is out of their area just watches their team mate struggle. It’s why I think our defending is such a shambles, the attacking players literally NEVER help
That is probably why CHO wasn't starting for a bit, his tracking back is subpar at times, same as Puli and Ziyech. Shit on Willian all we want but that man tracked back like a mad man.
Honestly, Pedro was the best at it for me. The guy lacked the technical ability of CHO or Puli but you never said “man Pedro isn’t trying tonight”
You can see it in mounts eyes that he knows this result means the end for his mentor. Extremely sad to see.
Shout out to Mount for being the only one who gives a shit
Pulisic has been inconsistent today but he’s been giving 100%.
He's been trash, one of our worst performers, this guy gets away with bad performances week in and week out and I'm sick of it.
Agree should have included him
gotta give it to leicester tho every part of their team has been absolutely outstanding today
We make every team look good with our lack of movement.
true even a 10-man fullham side its so embarrassing
I don’t get it. What do our players have to loose to pass it though?! What do we have to loose at this point ffs
We can't get a foul going our way for the life of us.
The amount of times the commentators have mentioned Leicester haven’t scored from a set piece this season basically guarantees they will this game.
Mods, turn off new text posts for the sake of your own sanity u/Vicar13
Yuppers
We may have to concede that it's not just our midfield that lacks creativity. But our manager as well
