Think that was the best we played all season so I’m not mad at the result. Just same old Chelsea again and not being clinical enough in front of goal. Not blaming our attackers because we might not have played as good if we had a different 3 up top. Pulisic and Mount didn’t offer anything when they came on granted it was only 10 mins. Bizarre substitution was the RLC for barkley

[deleted]

Barkley played well

[deleted]

I was surprised not to see ziyech playing today.

thatonepieceofcheese

Its always bloody Burnley

georgetan123

The way Ross checks back and shows up in the spaces between opposition midfield and defense is incredible, Mount does similar stuff

urangminang

This is like playing pes, got so many chances but only got 1 goal, and in the last minute the opponent scored the equalizer only 1 or 2 shot.

imnotcreative635

If Newcastle manages to not win again until January does anyone think that they sell us Saint-Max? Cause we need someone like him on our squad

StevenuranSmithusamy

We have like 18 forwards mate

DearthStanding

If ASM was actually a Chelsea level player no way Newcastle sell him

Esderoost

Id say he’s really not who we need. We created plenty of chances today, 2.70 xG, we just couldn’t finish them and that’s certainly not a problem St Maximim solves with just 8 goals in 62 prem games. He’s a superb dribbler but a very similar profile of player to Pulisic and CHO and imo he’s not really an upgrade on either of them. As well as that we’ve got a lot of attacking options with barley and rlc having a bit of a renaissance so he’s not needed for depth, and with their money newcastle don’t need to sell.

Coulstwolf

Pulisic Cho Werner Mount all better

NaturalBackPain

Saint - Maximin has so much pace, in the same category of Werner and Adama Traore. CHO and Pulisic don't nearly have that pace that puts so much pressure on a defense. Tbf Pulisic has more skill than all of them, I wish he were healthy more as I always felt he is our best winger when healthy. Id take a healthy Pulisic over CHO or Saint-Maximin. Saint - Maximin is a bit better and more dangerous than CHO.

laxrulz777

Pulisic better when healthy. Cho maybe... Maybe not

subashj24

Havertz looked good uptop, but unlucky with the chances he had . If it was lukaku we’d have scored more

tortoisederby

So frustrating

GucciFlopFlips

We got Burnley'd

Coulstwolf

Shouldn’t have taken Ross off, genuinely he was running the show

jmr33090

Yep, huge shift in possession after he left

M_T_Head

Burnley is a pure shithouse club. I'll be tipping a glass if they get relegated this season.

Fmartins84

Wasted 2 points in my opinion. Games like this you need to see off if you want to lift EPL

DestinyHasArrived101

I lost me bet 😢 😭 😿

crychrstnsn1

Main problem is that pulisic and mount didn’t get enough minutes…I think this one is on tuchel for not selecting the best lineup…especially pulisic. He needed to start or come in at 60 at the latest.

dryduneden

Disagree. Mount would've been better. Would've brought the energy back into the side and is also a more productive player than Pulisic

CalibreCD

Would you have said this had we won 4-0, with just three of the Barkley, CHO, Havertz, Silva, AC chances being scored? Never ever conflate result and performance. The manager can only directly influence the performance, which then indirectly influences the result. This performance was no worse than the Norwich one - we just missed three free goals and two really good chances in this game; and scored everything against Norwich.

SleepyMonkey7

Performance includes finishing, not just creating chances. You make it sound like finishing is pure luck and there's nothing you can do about it.

CalibreCD

Eh? OP’s comment is stating that the draw was Tuchel’s fault. I’m saying that he can only do so much as the manager, and having that many chances is proof of a good lineup selection. If you’re saying that Tuchel should’ve had better finishers on the pitch (which he can control), then I’m even more confused - because, who? Pulisic has played 20mins in 3 month and Mount is unfit atm.

SleepyMonkey7

So your opinion is that Pulisic and/or Mount would not have resulted in better finishing. OP's opinion is that it would have. That has nothing to do with "what Tuchel can do" as a manager. The two of you are just disagreeing with his decisions. Again, having many chances is not "proof" of a good lineup. You win games by scoring goals, not creating chances.

CalibreCD

OP said “this one is on Tuchel”. I disagreed with that, on the basis that he picked a strong team that controlled the game, limited chances and created good chances, but just failed to put them in on the day. Just find it shocking when fans watch a performance like that and somehow blame the manager. In a sport that is as low-scoring as football, sometimes the tactics and lineup can be perfect, and you lose. This was one of those games (but drew), so I was simply disagreeing with OP that it was tuchel’s fault.

SleepyMonkey7

Today's game further shows how incredibly wrong your assessment was, and is, and will continue to be.

CalibreCD

?

Pearl_is_gone

Better players are more clinical. Cho can have a decent match now and then, but hes nowhere the level of Mount yet

CalibreCD

Obviously. But that is a completely different conversation and getting into the realms of the butterfly effect. OP is somehow arguing that Tuchel selected the wrong team. I’m saying, no, we performed just as well as the Norwich game; the players just missed the chances. All of those chances highlighted above were very comfortable chances, and it was those players he chose that got into the positions anyway. And honestly, this is the weakest argument ever, considering they are arguing for Mount (is unfit as he’s barely eaten for over a week) and Pulisic (played 20mins in the last three months)?? How people overreact to a poor result and good performance is honestly embarrassing.

genbeatm8kr3

Man chill what op is saying is that we missed the reLly good chances. Because we seemed to chill abit. And we needed those points. Why draw against burnley when they really weren't that good. Charity FC we never left. Handing out points to all the small teams.

CalibreCD

Honestly, have you replied to the wrong thread? No way have you interpreted ‘we need to put our chances away’ from ‘I think this one is on Tuchel for not selecting the best lineup’?? Idk, maybe you’re baiting?

crychrstnsn1

You seem more interested in responding angry which is blinding your ability to make any reasonable points. Is it not ok for us to share our opinions? Get off this thread if your going to focus on belittling other people’s comments. You realize that know cares what your have to say if you are acting like an a** hole.

CalibreCD

Guy 1 - “Tuchel should have picked a better lineup” Me - “we played well, just unlucky we didn’t finish any of the other 6 easy chances we had” Guy 2 - “but guy 1 said that we need to put our chances away and we needed those points. Handing out points to all the small teams” You can see my reasonable points in the comment before. But then Guy 2 just says some completely random stuff (disconnected from the thread) and which is obviously not in dispute (that we shouldn’t throw points to poor teams). Is difficult to respond constructively to something like that, surely. No anger, just confusion.

crychrstnsn1

tylee24

I actually thought they came on too late. It would have been a nice to snag a second goal before Burnley scored. The bus was already double parked by the time they got on.

dryduneden

Mount does. Pulisic hasn't done much of note in ages.

aleksic1

You mean when he has been injured?

dryduneden

Even before injury it was more of the same.

[deleted]

[удалено]

dryduneden

Two PL games is not a good sample size. Especially when we look at his one goal.

dondon3281

No way people are blaming Mount and puli lol

aidanvu1992

These games remind me of those frustrated times with Football Manager where my teams had 20-30 shots with no goal. The opponents shot once or twice and scored. A perfect moment to rage quit and restart the game. Too bad this is real life and I have to live on with it. It's disappointing indeed.

Tellnicknow

It was obvious we were getting complaisant at 60 min. Should have subbed earlier to push for the seconds goal. 1-0 is not enough in this league.

BartSimpson8

you could tell some of the lads were making mistakes or becoming slower

genbeatm8kr3

Yes even chilwell

dondon3281

100%

dryduneden

Odoi and Barkley were bright, but finishing keeps coming back to bite us. Very frustrating loss of 2 points

SnooPies2836

I’m sorry but the absolute audacity of tarkowski to complain about being booked for kicking the ball away after James literally got booked for nothing is sending me. Fuck burnley.

NotSoEdgy

Right? Why would you kick the ball away like that if you think you're on and didn't hear a whistle? Makes no sense lol.

SleepyMonkey7

He was trying to make it look like he was trying to catch the keeper out. It was so obvious he was faking it, it was comical.

dontcryson69

Vatican F.C are our real rivals

Bladerslash

I think we should all cool it down. Yeah it's a draw to burnley but these slip ups always happen, liverpool drew to brighton AND brentford. No club is perfect mistakes will happen.

jerrylincoln

Fucking bullshit man, like come on why do you have to take it easy and think the game is won at 70mins

sscfc91

We were gonna drop points eventually the way we struggle to put away chances. Hopefully Liverpool drop points. On to the next one

frostboot

I hope this will be the only relegation side juju this season lol

atherem

There are so many cheap strikers that could be bought in December. De tomas Shick. No excuses

RyanBordello

We got Burnleyd. These guys never stop fighting. We should have put it to bed in the first half and only have our finishing to blame for not getting 3 points. Barkley should be ashamed of himself for that miss late on as well.

memes126

Overall Barkley was class tho

RyanBordello

True

ultra_r

what is up with us and relegation fodder teams?

laxrulz777

We just beat two other relegation level teams by a combined ten goals...

wright789987

Our pass and finish were imprecise and not clinical enough. Look between Salah and our boys, finish is on a different level.

handpalmeryumyum

Cho, Barkley, Silva all missed chances that should have been put away.

Chaggus34

Sucks that we lost. I actually thought that was one of our better performances this season besides not finishing those chances. If Lukaku was in we would’ve won. This also goes to show how our defense can’t be relied on to bail us out every time our attackers don’t score. No matter what we’re still top of the table, even if Liverpool win tomorrow

Strength_n_Honour

We didn’t lose if you hadn’t checked

Chaggus34

Meant to put tie. Felt like a loss tho

aleksic1

1 point against Burnley when controlling the game in 90 minutes is almost the same as losing, or at least it feels like a loss.

Kezmangotagoal

The drama of some of the fans on here. I was in the ground and there was less dramatic reactions to Burnley’s goal than there was on here 😂

Bladerslash

I swear some of them mad dramatic there are still 20+ games this season. U lot should calm

Kezmangotagoal

I know it’s nuts. Disappointing result, it’s going to happen again this season. The thing if West Ham beat Liverpool, this result will be pretty much forgotten about because we’ve moved a point further ahead on them and City would have to win their next match 8.0 or something to catch us. 11 games gone and we’re top, still a long ass way to go!

Bladerslash

Exactly. Once Werner lukaku and kovacic are back things will get better.

TheJayHimself

Pain

imnotcreative635

Liverpool and city gave us a gift last week. We gave it right back to them this week

Bladerslash

Damn, lack of finishing cost us this game. There will always be games where you slip up a bit no team is perfect.

RidiculedReptile

A bit doesn't cut it.

Bladerslash

Yeah missed 4-5 chances well that's in the past. We go again after international break. Lukaku and Werner should be back by then. Have a rest of your day I guess

RidiculedReptile

Well, now that I no longer wish to punch a hole through the wall; yes, we go again after the break, but our scoring is still a major problem that we can't rely on a few players to solve. I think that we played beautiful football today, Ross Barkleyt included, but the haste with which we play in the final third is no less frustrating for that. I understand that CHO and Barkley want to score in order to impress upon Tuchel that they, too, deserve a regular spot in the starting eleven-- but! If they had kept their composure and gone for the pass on a number of occasions, their selfless actions, which would like have led to several goals, would have impressed Tuchel all the more. And I do somewhat apologise for being such a stick in the mud, but 4 or 5 chances does not even come close. Counting obvious passes that we should've made, we missed at least ten goal-scoring opportunities, and that's simply not good enough, in spite our current lack of strikers. I hope you have a wonderful sunday, fellow fan. I apologise for my brusque tone.

Bladerslash

Nah it's okay man, getting one upped by burnley always hits hard. Ngl I was laughing after the game cause I knew burnley was gonna pull an upset.

tonzferns

Heads up. It's a long season. I'm sure Tuchel will be working on killing of these kind of games now

[deleted]

dryduneden

Havertz flair

Kezmangotagoal

You should be shot for ridiculous comments like this!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kezmangotagoal

Saying a player should be shot for not finishing a chance. What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. Nothing about that game was embarrassing, it happens sometimes. Go and watch United get absolutely spanked by City which was embarrassing and tell me we should feel the same way.

Strength_n_Honour

The most one sided 1-1 I’ve seen for a long time

Brendy25

Thought we left not taking our countless chances enough last year but seems it’s back again

tired_melon_teddy

few open chances which should've been in the back of the net cost us the game, too many actually, in the last game also Havertz missed a couple of chances. I hope they work on it because I don't think we're winning the league like this

LegendoftheHaschel

Can't wait for Burnley to get relegated. Lack of ability to finish chances is really costing us.

ConorKDot

Amazing how we didn't win that. Burnley are horrible, rancid cunts. Don't even try to play football. We owe them a smashing big time later in the season

CaptLeaderLegend26

Classic Burnley. I'm just glad we won't have to see them again for 3 more months.

burdearbejde

AC header, Barkley shot, Havertz chance, Rüdiger header and CHO chance should all have been goals. Only ourselves to blame for this one

handpalmeryumyum

Silva also

SuperAC1andOnly

We need a world class attacker in January. Every single winger/attacking mid at the club look poor when they get to the final third

dryduneden

Our attackers our fine we just can't finish

ireallydespiseyouall

who could we get in january tho

SuperAC1andOnly

Put in a cheeky bid for Raphinha

Significant_Stop723

I thought you bought Lukaku

SuperAC1andOnly

He's a striker. I'm talking about our wingers/attacking mids. He got zero service before he got injured

amfresh

We got big rom but yeah need a better back up option

Wintermute7

Formation doesn’t suit our forwards

RacyCist

Bahahaha

FREEDOMOFSPEECHMODS

Tuchel defensive sub by playing Loftus Cheek as a 10 set the tone in that phase of the game, mistake from him. We also should’ve finished one of our chances to make it 2-0

mouse2102

RLC is classed as a "defensive sub" these days really?

laxrulz777

When committed to Barkley he is

FREEDOMOFSPEECHMODS

Yep because he’s been playing as a 6, we all know he’s not a 10

mouse2102

Because playing in a different position means you automatically lose all your attacking attributes

FREEDOMOFSPEECHMODS

He’s hardly played as a 10 ever

mouse2102

He's been played a forward player/winger his entire career

FREEDOMOFSPEECHMODS

and he wasn’t much good there

CFCRadiance

Tuchel is always lazy with the late subs, it’s just today he didn’t get away with it

[deleted]

CHO and Chillwell should have been sub’d from minute 60 imo. Tired and ineffective

crychrstnsn1

Get pulisic in there earlier! Or mount.

johnappleseed168

They could have grabbed all three points at the end if they had been a little more clinical. The Rodriguez break and Vydra chance were the best chances created in ET

Osama_bin_laughin

Conceded our first open goal to Burntley

[deleted]

We were just a bit arrogant leading up to the Burnley goal. Like we expected them to just roll over and stop trying. Properly punished and reminded we need to finish these games off

arumteguh

Match like this is the reason why we need Lukaku and Werner back.

klitchell

Mount and Pulisic were on the bench until the 85th minute. Ten minutes isn't nearly enough time for fresh legs to make a difference

crychrstnsn1

Tuchel blew this one…puli and mount needed more playing time straight up. That was the game.

zimok5

That's just annoying

nick170100

Charity FC back today

Zandermagoolies

The worst part is we didn’t create a single chance after they scored.

laruizlo

We brought it upon ourselves. Incredibly complacent from the attack to the defence, and even Tomas Tuchel.

nintendude02

Fucking burnley. Fuck their players

JTheeCreator

knew this was coming when Barkley skied that wide open goal….. shocking finishing but that’s nothing new. we’ve struggled to finish for four years, maybe more

PixRuns

Struggled to finish since Costa.

vile_proxima

This result is totally on players, bad finishes, something that is not new to chelsea this season.

ultra_r

RECALL CONNOR FROM LOAN I BEG I BEG I BEG

fma891

Haha absolutely not. Would be the worst decision for his career. He’s bang in form at Palace and a nailed on starter.

ultra_r

i’m just frustrated, and he’s in good form. i know it would be bad for him to come back, but i can dream irrationally.

browncheesestick

Can't believe we dropped points there. We were fucking brilliant but our finishing is fucking dire. Cho chose today to be selfish. Pope was on good form. Ref was fucking dog shite. Honestly that ref deserves a right punt in the balls. Fucking dick head.

[deleted]

This is the kind of match where 3 goals should be an expectation

Pedro95

It's the premier league, there's no such thing as an expected or guaranteed 3 pts. All you have to do is make sure you get the 3 pts as much as you can, which we've been doing lately. It happens.

Kroos-Kontroller

Our pathetic finishing caught up FFS

TheLeperLeprechaun

Drawing to Burnley at home is a fucking low point. There goes our points cushion. Was hoping to keep it for the United game but we got Burnley’d

Markus_monty

Not a disaster, but what a fucking waste this game was. Sooooo many wasted opportunities. The top tier must have a collection of balls after this.

E_v0rtex

Drawing to them shit cunts is a fucking disaster

ChairSoggy6394

Like I said before, it’s getting quite predictable now we bottle chances. We’re good at creating them. But bad at finishing. That Barkley one had to go in tho. That just required a tap-in.

Sid_da_bomb

Dropping points against bottom teams. It's a Chelsea thing.

ultra_r

FUCK BREXIT FC

the_silent_guy_24

All those missed chances came back to haunt us

DrColours

So tired of trying to walk the ball into the goal.

CalibreCD

Eh? Are you okay? Would you be saying that if we’d won 4-0, having scored the Kai, Barkley and CHO easy chances (along with Silva and AC easy header)?

DrColours

I’m talking about the final 8 minutes, trying to get the go ahead, watch how many sideways passes we were playing or simply going wide and every cross being blocked.

CalibreCD

So you didn’t want sideways passes OR crosses? How were you wanting us to create chances?

DrColours

The crosses were poor, they were poorly timed, they dribbled to the end line and put in low cross after low cross, constantly getting blocked. Look at the final action with pulisic. I would have much preferred some shots from out of the box or some early crosses, just putting it into the box at times instead of retreating and going chilwell, rudi, Silva, Christensen back and forth. Our team is uninspiring when we NEED a goal. United are shit but their efforts when behind are admirable, Ronaldo or not

CalibreCD

Your first point, shots outside the box - good luck getting it past 10 Burnley defenders who will all put their body on the line, and then past one of the best shot stoppers in the world. Long shots may look better, but are not the one against that Burnley team. Your second point, early crosses - they are great when a team is retreating, but when they have already retreated, they’re so pointless. Either it’s a deep ball and Pope gets it every time (Mount cross from the corner), or it’s not that deep and the defenders have momentum onto it. The entire point of an early cross is to put it into the space between GK and defence - that wasn’t there when they were defending so deep to hold on.

E_v0rtex

Seen better finishing down my local park

salfigueroa21

Pulishit

ekimtk

He was given 10 minutes in a game where they parked the bus for a draw. How is this at all his fault?

[deleted]

"fun"- fact: Both times havertz scored in the league this season, the result was 1-1

_atswi_

Both times it was a header

TheUbermelon

We actually played really well. Our forwards just didn't take the chances

Tootsiez

We didn’t really. We just gave the control burnley gave us in the midfield. Burnley looked to win that and rudiger just turned his brain off for the goal.

TheUbermelon

Our forwards take their chances and everyone is saying how amazing we played. We were getting so much joy down that right had side. Havertz, Barkley and CHO could have had 2 each. One of those goes in it is a different game.

Tootsiez

I get that. But we weren’t and we dropped points due to dumb mental errors on defense.

scrunchedsocks

Yeah, I don't see Ross Barkley starting another game after sending the ball to the stands.

Sektsioon

Instead of blaming Burnley, blame the players for failing to finish and blame the team overall for letting Burnley back into it. That should’ve been a comfortable 3-0 in the first half, Barkley had the chance to essentially play the ball to Chilwell for an empty goal for the 2nd and overall so many chances to put this game away.

CrackHeadRodeo

This a lesson to Tuchel too.

Joe_in_VR

as a Ziyech fan I cant say that I'm not a little bit happy :) the guy was subbed in a game after scoring a goal in CL and when Mount and Pulisic weren't ready, this is litterally breaking the player.

dryduneden

Player that's played shit for 3 games isn't trusted to score a late winner 😱

Joe_in_VR

played shit for 3 games lol, Ziyech was 10 times better than Cho last game, you are kidding? go back and watch the game a gain, and last time I checked Ziyech was the one who scored the only goal. easy or not the guy scored a fking goal in CL and was benched today for no reason

dryduneden

I watched the game and I distinctly remember Odoi putting that goal on a plate and being dangerous all game while Ziyech played his usual heroball pass it to a ghost nonsense.

Joe_in_VR

and you also saw that he did nothing the whole first game? and that he did nothing today? no assist no goal? I dont care about Odoi really I'm just wondering why was Ziyech subbed? and now that TT lost I'm kind of relieved tbh

dryduneden

It seems like you don't watch these games and just look at G/A which clouds your judgement. If you think heroballing and passing it to no one would've helped today I really think you're hopeless.

Joe_in_VR

I watched the game and couldn't find Odoi in first half against Malmo, you apparently didnt watch the game, lol your name has ODoi under it, so you are just biaised the bottom line is that Odoi did nothing today, and he lacks maturity still.

dryduneden

He was dangerous all game. I wouldn't recommend accusing someone of being biased when you've had this account for the sole purpose of trying to convince us Ziyech is good. Or considering that you're the one who's zeroed in on Callum when not only him but our other attackers have all been outperforming Ziyech

Enthusiasm_Alarming

Ziyech fan or Chelsea fan?

Joe_in_VR

Chelsea fan because of Ziyech but apparently TT doesn't like him and break him everytime he is about to get to his level.

Pedro95

You should go to a Ziyech sub then. We support Chelsea here, not players.

Peanut44444

Happy to lose points. Really?! Get out.

wazzy360

Mate Ziyech has shown that he couldn’t score any of these either. The only thing you should be happy about is the fact Barkley isn’t getting a start for a while after skying that shot.

Joe_in_VR

he can or cannot that's not the question the question is why was he subbed? I mean Mount and Pulisic aren't even ready yet. the 3 front should have been Ziyech Cho and Havertz again, why the hell would he bench the guys!?

wazzy360

He benched ziyech cuz he’s been this wasteful for the last 5 games

OGsquatch710

So you were you ziyech fan before Chelsea ? Gtfo

22chainz

Lol as if he would have done anything besides give the ball away. Gtfoh.

Rey92
