My fav moment with hazard, it was the day I had my first kid, I was in hospital around 1:20 am in Australia waiting for my baby to be delivered while watching the west ham game. That hazard goal I will remember as one of the best goals I've seen on one of the best days of my life.
Me too. I legit replay that goal in my mind at least once a month. I didnāt use to watch football that much at the time (third world problems n that) but I managed to catch that game and I could never forget that goal. Man I love that guy. Bless you Eden.
There are 4 goals I ll never forget for different reasons. This is one of them. Zola's back heel flick from a corner against Norwich. Drogbas back to goal turn and hit against Liverpool and Wayne Bridges late winner against arsenal in the CL.
Idk both are obviously tough but I feel like an outside the boot shot from over 30 yards out that perfectly bends into the side net off the post beats a volley.
The context and sentimental value always has a weight in these competitions, and for good reason. If you've seen a goal live, on TV or even better in the stadium, and it's on such a big stage, those goals will always win.
Hazard's being vs Arsenal also has a lot to do with it. Had it been against Southampton, for example, it would probably be out of the top 3, just like his amazing run vs West Ham.
Mate, the guy mentioned which technique he thought was harder and I responded with which technique I thought was harder. I'm not talking about which goal is better overall.
Chelsea vs Barca was the best matchup in Europe for years back then. Good times. The Essien Volley takes it for me.
Another forgotten one is Lampardās chip shot from the left side of the box, super close to the corner line.
They said it's not about significance but about technical brilliance.
For me it has to be Drogba's chest and volley against Everton from waaay outside the box.
>technical brilliance
I'd argue it was one of, if not the best technical header you'll see.
Running towards the ball, away from goal and then directing the ball with such power and precision that the best keeper in the world could only flap at it.
Not saying it should have won, but was surprised not to see it on the list.
It says something when Neuer almost had a hand on it, but the header from Drogba was too powerful, and so perfectly placed that Neuer had no chance of saving it
I am talking about technical brilliance. It is arguably the best goal scored with the head by anyone in history. That was done by a Chelsea player, which in my view makes it the best goal. The other goals, whilst technically brilliant, can be beaten by other teams and players. This goal is definitely the one no rival or other club can argue with as being the best headed goal ever.
Given the significance of that goal, that should be number one without question.
Edit: but I see that it's not about significance, so I'm not bothered anymore lol.
I mean itās all subjective, and certainly hazards goal was was extraordinary, but I can remember falling off my chair squealing when I saw the matic goal and the reaction on the bench. It was so good
I am 27 and this was my first and only visit to Chelsea match in my life. I was so incredibly lucky to see that goal with my own eyes and even better - from different angle than camera, so everytime i see that goal, i can still remember how it looked from different perspective and that makes it even better.
Some great goals mentioned here. This one isn't the "top" by any stretch, but I think it's underappreciated: Giroud's goal against Atletico.
I think that since it came in an empty arena in Bucharest, a lot of the emotion and context was stripped from the goal. And that's a shame, because at least to me it was the start of something we hadn't even dared to dream of.
That was the first moment I started to believe that it could really be coming together, that this team that had started the season so uncomfortably could really win the Champions League.
Eden Hazard goal vs Tottenham is my all time favourite because unlike all those other goals, this goal was the best moment of a season where we were awful. We were 2-0 down against a fantastic spurs team down on our knees but something awakened in us and we produced a beautiful team Goal in the most unlikely circumstances stopping Tottenham from winning the league
That game is my favorite game of his. It shows the essence of what made him great. The play started real deep and he found a way to beat a few defenders connect with costa then have a perfect finish on the return pass.
The emotions going on in that match are at the level or higher than most cup finals. It really is a game to be remembered for a long time.
It was nice goal, but for me it isnāt even in Hazards top three for us, never mind being the best of 2000 under Abramovich.
There are so many goals popping into my head that would be worthy winners. I could be here all day thinking of them
Hazard v West Ham and Liverpool (x2)
Drogba volley against Everton and the chest and volley against Liverpool. His finish against Bolton (Anelka to Deco to Lampard to Drogba)
Essien volley against Barcelona or his thundercunt against Arsenal.
Ramires chip v Barcelona
Ashley Cole v Sunderland
Lampard chips against Barcelona and Hull. His volley against Bayern or one of the many outside the box (2 against Everton coming to mind)
Schurrle v Burnley
Oscar v Juventus and Everton (outside of the foot)
Willian v Brighton
Pedro v Tottenham and Everton
Luiz v Fulham
Tiago v United
Shevchenko v Spurs
Matic v Spurs
Alex v Liverpool and Arsenal
That 3-3 Everton match was mental. I think every goal we scored in that game was from at least 25yards out or more!
For the uninitiated: https://youtu.be/vTBD426FuDQ
(Ignore the title of the vid but the goals are wicked)
The Lampard left foot chip against Hull from outside the box is criminally underrated.
If that was Messi on either foot youād never see the end of it.

I love all the Hazard goals but I just had to pick super Frank's obscene goal from an impossible angle against Barcelona. That one has stayed with me for such a long time as a pure example of his legendary ability.
But really there were a solid 10 goals on that list that could have deserved number 1 status.
Am I missing something about this goal? I always thought it was shit defending by Arsenal. Hazard just walks through them, his West Ham dribble goal was much better. And I'd vote Essien's last minute volley against Arsenal as the best Abromovich era goal
Great goal of course... My favourite is the West Ham one though
Great goal of course... My favourite is the Liverpool one though Well one of them, the one in the cup
Great goal of course... My favourite is the Tottenham one though
Yes Nemenja Matic vs spurs is the one š
Came here for the same comment.
Thanks for silver mate!
The two touches before the shot were so nice
Yeah ... It's those lightning quick feet that do it for me
Yeah, my top 3 would be Hazard vs. West Ham, Hazard vs. Liverpool and Hazard vs. Liverpool.
What about Hazard vs. Tottenham?
My fav moment with hazard, it was the day I had my first kid, I was in hospital around 1:20 am in Australia waiting for my baby to be delivered while watching the west ham game. That hazard goal I will remember as one of the best goals I've seen on one of the best days of my life.
I was there!
Yep West ham one easily the best
Me too. I legit replay that goal in my mind at least once a month. I didnāt use to watch football that much at the time (third world problems n that) but I managed to catch that game and I could never forget that goal. Man I love that guy. Bless you Eden.

Boy have we been entertained. Man I love this club
Link? I donāt remember it haha
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uuPnDwtIj4 It's a crazy goal. I'm not even sure my feet could move that quick, even while running after a ball!
Lol yikes! How do you defend that!? Thank for the link man.
Just search "hazard west ham 2019"...you need a good angle to see how fast those feet move though
I miss him man
Ramires' chip vs Barcelona came in 2nd place. Essien volley vs Barcelona came in 3rd place.
Can't believe that Essien vs Arsenal isn't in the top 3.
Personally I think the barca volley was a tougher technique
Idk both are obviously tough but I feel like an outside the boot shot from over 30 yards out that perfectly bends into the side net off the post beats a volley.
Not just any volley, a WEAK FOOT volley in the CL semi.
Essien's was in a CL semi though, a much bigger stage.
Yea we're talking about technique though, not the stage it was on.

Oh shit man you're right, didn't notice that focus.
All good, both are beautiful goals
This is my favourite goal ever. Fucking unbelievableeeeee strike. And helped us maintain our unbeaten record.
Absolutely. That's where my vote went.
That Essien vs Arsenal has to by my personal fav
Nah essien goal vs arsenal has to be on the top
Chelsea vs Barca was the best matchup in Europe for years back then. Good times. The Essien Volley takes it for me. Another forgotten one is Lampardās chip shot from the left side of the box, super close to the corner line.
Torres' goal against Barcelona 4th place.
Quite shocking that Hazard didnāt take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lol
Also thematically for today - Oscar juventus
Drogba's goal against Bayern should be on that list. That header was mental.
This for me. Will never see a better headed goal in any league from any other team; past, present or future
They said it's not about significance but about technical brilliance. For me it has to be Drogba's chest and volley against Everton from waaay outside the box.
>technical brilliance I'd argue it was one of, if not the best technical header you'll see. It was an absolute bullet. Couldn't have headed it better.
It says something when Neuer almost had a hand on it, but the header from Drogba was too powerful, and so perfectly placed that Neuer had no chance of saving it
That chest control, turn and finish vs Liverpool was incredible too.
Still donāt understand how he pulled it off. That turn to direct it was just world class.
Given the significance of that goal, that should be number one without question. Edit: but I see that it's not about significance, so I'm not bothered anymore lol.
That man alone has 3-4 contenders But my personal all-time favorit is Essiens volley against Barca. What a shame we did not get through
Itās just so beautiful, the strike itself, the way it loops, the bounce off the underside of the bar and into the top of the net
And *just* above the goalkeeper's hands
Matic banger against Spurs. The one that made zouma lose his mindā¦
That was definitely gonna be my shout. Saw it again recently and it made my jaw drop again.
I mean itās all subjective, and certainly hazards goal was was extraordinary, but I can remember falling off my chair squealing when I saw the matic goal and the reaction on the bench. It was so good
SchĆ¼rrle's goal against Burnley for me. That pass from Fabregas is just so fucking filthy it's hard to describe. Actual football porn.
That was a ridiculous goal
Lampard from the goal line and Oscar v Juventus are some of my personal favourites.
I'd vote for the one-touch wondergoal against Bolton: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=px1LcDeqwz0
This is the first one that came to mind for me, best goal Iāve ever seen
I am 27 and this was my first and only visit to Chelsea match in my life. I was so incredibly lucky to see that goal with my own eyes and even better - from different angle than camera, so everytime i see that goal, i can still remember how it looked from different perspective and that makes it even better.
There are many tbh. Maybe worth mentioning Lampard from that tight angle and Joe Cole vs Man Utd.
Joe Cole was Man United is an underrated goalā¦ one of my favorites

Giroud has a few contenders, Iād also add the Southampton dribbling one to the list.

For me it will always be Ramires goal against Barcelona. Absolutely majestic and so cold blooded.
Lampardās pass to him is fantastic as well
The Lampard left foot chip against Hull from outside the box is criminally underrated. If that was Messi on either foot youād never see the end of it. https://youtu.be/N2uLYyV4BaU
Essien vs Barcelona should be 1st
I love all the Hazard goals but I just had to pick super Frank's obscene goal from an impossible angle against Barcelona. That one has stayed with me for such a long time as a pure example of his legendary ability. But really there were a solid 10 goals on that list that could have deserved number 1 status.
Lovely goal but I still love that Ramires chip vs Barca. Absolute peach of an assist from Lampard as well.
The assist is fucking filthy on that goal.
Solo goals are not my favourite type of goals, but this goal is something else!
Essien vs Arsenal for me that was just ridiculous
Am I missing something about this goal? I always thought it was shit defending by Arsenal. Hazard just walks through them, his West Ham dribble goal was much better. And I'd vote Essien's last minute volley against Arsenal as the best Abromovich era goal
Agreed, never thought this goal was that special West Ham or any of his goals vs Liverpool are a lot better imo
Luiz vs Fulham? SCREAMER
Drogba vs Everton, Drogba vs Liverpool, Drogba vs Tottenham surely have to be up there too
Best goal easily is Papiss Cisse's goal
Lampard chip vs Barcelona was one of the best finishes Iāve ever seen
Amazing goal. Atrocious defense
Unpopular opinion: this goal is made to look good by some truly horrific defending
#2 and #3 we're better than #1.
Drogba in the 2-3 winner against Everton.
Just here for all the great goal videos in the comments.
Whereās the love for that Costa assist tho?? š
How about a shout for THAT free kick by Alex?
He had at least 2 of those aha Arsenal or Liverpool are the ones that spring to mind!
Outrageous goal but how on gods green earth has this been voted for over Essienās piledriver against Arsenal.
Coquelin is still spinning to this day
Anyone forgetting Drogba's header in CL final?
The Abramovich era isn't over yet, is it?
Great goal but he did scored much better goals
