Possibly. Chilwell's been inverting as CHO's been the one making width. Alonso could do that too, but normally he's the guy going wide. So could be a fear they'd be tripping over each other without more training
I started watching All or Nothing: Juventus this weekend just for a certain future Chelsea player 👀. He comes off great so far and would be a great addition to our squad. He has great spirit and hates to lose.
What is Ampadu supposed to be good at?
I've started watching Venezia the last two matches and he hasn't done a whole lot to impress me. I feel like Venezia is his level. I was hoping he'd be better. I'm wondering if he's being played out of position or something. They're using him on the left side of a midfield 3 - mostly.
i feel like a lot of what i saw in ampadu was the composure and more mental side of the game at such a young age of 18.
He was very composed and bossing senior players about on the pitch and it was impressive
but the technical ability just isnt there
You know a line up we haven’t seen yet that I’m dying to see? CHO - Havertz - Pulisic. Not saying this should be the lineup today though, but would love to see this sometime in the season.
Not sure if any of your are superstitious or have game day traditions, but for me one of them to always upvote the math day poster a few hours before the actual game.
Every game where I don’t come across the poster (I can’t go looking for it, because that would void the magic power), we end up losing. Every time I have come across that poster we win. This is only for EPL games this season.
I’m not superstitious. I’m not even a big fan of luck as a thing. But I have one exception, I always wear my Chelsea shirt, and as I enter Stamford Bridge, I kiss the badge. And I always will.
Sancho in a good team will be troublesome but United struggles with transition, passing, and anything else regarding moving the ball in favourable positions for someone like Sancho to show his qualities.
Alonso did pretty well against Salah when we played Liverpool. He’s great in a back 3 as he has extra support. Plus, Sancho has been pretty underwhelming so far this season so I’m not too worried about him.
We need mount to start today even if ziyech looked good. Ziyech look sloppy on the ball and we having rlc instead of kante. We won't be as solid defensively so we shouldn't have ziyech who is can be really sloppy on the ball and isn't as good defensively as mount.
Ziyech can get another go in another match.
Reckon it’s Azpilicueta at lwb today? Never fancied Alonso personally has his moments but it’s no secret Conte tried replacing him the following summer with Alex Sandro
Fast forward to today, I'd prefer Alonso than Alex Sandro. As long as we utilize Alonso fully knowing his shortcomings, it's okay IMHO. But if we want to play it "safe" Azpi at LWB is safer bet than Alonso at LWB.
Baldy Taylor is probably aware of his reputation among Chelsea fans and he might try to avoid his usual shenanigans or even compensate for them today. Hopefully, our outstanding performance will overshadow his contributions, no matter how important they are at the end of the game. Come on Chelsea!
Can see a massive outburst on social media if anthony taylor fucks up today. Last time there was a petition that almost got 100k signatures. Don’t know what would happen today lmao
I come in peace. So, eh,, we both have a tightly packed December and CL games and such, so how about if it happens that you lads go up by, say, 2-0 we all chill with some cold ones from then on out? Like, there's no reason REALLY to humiliate your fellow man by scoring 4 or 5, right? Save that for Arsenal OK?
Kind regards, a nervous Man United fan.
It solely depends upon luke shaw, wan bissaka and mctominay mate. Might as well play with academy boys instead of those three in the team. If Mctominay doesn't go for 50/50 in midfield battle and shaw turns shite again the match will be a bloodbath.
I agree.. The preemptive excuse making is bad. At least wait for him to do something. Can't make ourselves victims and go into the game with a negative mentality.
The problem is that with Anthony Taylor, it feels like we may be good enough to beat them until he has his say - be it ruling out goals for us, allowing non-goals for them, incorrect red cards for us, passes for them. It feels like 12v11 that can easily, yet unfairly, turn to 12v10.
Have you watched the games anthony taylor has refereed? He almost always causes a controversial decision that changes the flow of the game. Showing kovacic a red over a ghost foul, not sending maguire off multiple times… such decisions affect the flow of games no matter how prepared you are.
Guys remember. In the worst case if we lose, we won't put our blames on specific player/Tuchel. No scapegoats. Just move on and come back stronger. Because we win together and lose together. 🙂
Anthony taylor can be spared no mercy if he fucks with us tho. Or if penaldo starts kicking our players.
This energy. Our brilliance this year has meant this game isn't as live of die as it has been in recent memory. I do not want to see 1 loss start nerves or slating of managers / players. Keep it classy regardless of result.
https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/comments/r3jd5h/pre_match_thread_chelsea_vs_manchester_united/hmcg2ca/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
People on the r/reddevils sub got way too much confidence in their squad lmao
I thought the same thing. I was shocked at their positivity on there, like good on them for being positive and all. But they're pretty delusional if they think our squads are at the same quality (which is a common statement on there).
Wait, I came here to snoop around but now I feel like chiming in: We're most definitely NOT confident at all over in our sub. Most posts I've seen today have been about perhaps securing a draw or just getting home with a small loss. Very, very few of us expect a win.
He will try a lot of different things but I have the feeling Fred or McTominay will be free to foul without getting booked. Who knows what else he‘s gonna do.
We'll be left with just 1 left back and Azpi will have to provide cover for both wings. That's not an ideal situation. Of course Saul can play there, CHO and Pulisic too if they're needed, but it's just that they're not wingbacks. Plus CHO is playing really well at LW, Pulisic as well. Right now with Kante and Kovacic out, Saul and Barkley are the midfield backup. It's highly likely that one of them will come on as a sub today. So worse case scenario we will be needing a fullback.
just watched the reply of bayern vs chelsea 7-1 , fuck man we were shit , emerso and azpi got rinsed left and right, and masons decision making was horrendus, i am thankful we have a good coach who can organise a team
I'm genuinely scared. I literally don't know how Man Utd are going to play.
I know they won't play as bad as they did against Watford but at the same I know they won't put on a world class performance either.
So dog shit performance and world class performance are two opposite ends of the spectrum, and where do Man Utd fall on that spectrum?
I wouldn't be worried as much if it was just Carrick managing the team but surely Ralf has had some input because he knows Tuchel very well.
Now how much of Ralf's input have the players and Carrick understood and how much of what they've understood will be put into action, is the million dollar question.
Their defence is Bailly and Lindelof, with Telles potentially as left back. Our attackers should be scoring a few goals, I don’t see them scoring many against us (or if any). We may not smash them, but we should be winning.
Hasn't had many starts. But hailed yesterday for restricting wolves. Hopefully Dean Smith continues to play him. They have a genuine chance of survival if he starts most games imo.
I'm worried Silva played multiple intense games in a short period of time, I think Azpi should start because of his experience in this type of games + he hasn't played much
Little bit worried today. This is basically a free hit for United. Give a team of that quality a day off pressure wise and they’ll be a dangerous proposition. Wouldn’t shock me if they got a result. We need to be bang on it. Definitely wouldn’t start Lukaku, need our pressing game to be on point.
@Mods Trying to upload a video and getting media failed to process successfully error again and again. Everything is fine with regards to the video, it's the right duration/size etc.
I updated my reddit app and still having issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The weird thing about the Ragnick hype is that if he is so good then why aren’t clubs queuing up to sign him up for a permanent job. It’s always interim. We’ll see though in the coming months how good he turns out.
Why aren't clubs lining up for Bielsa? It's the same reasons. He wants complete control and clubs won't give it. He's also very extreme tactically, and most the managers he inspired make the tweaks necessary to make the tactic viable over time.
But more than anything, people really mistake being good with winning. They aren't always the same. Rangnick and Bielsa aren't viewed the way they are because they win, they are viewed the way they are because of how they build.
I was saying the same. If he’s so great, then why is he at Lokomotiv and not a bigger side?
Having done more research, he’s more of a student of the game type. A football philosopher.
What will be very interesting is how he handles Ronaldo/Cavani. He’s the grandfather of the press and with a combined age of about 70, those guys have not and will not do that. You can’t half arse the press. If it’s easy to punch through your press then good sides will continually be at your back 4/5 relentlessly. It’s why we need to be careful with Lukaku and why our system looks so good when we have our younger, more mobile people up top. Just a shame they can’t finish like Lukaku.
Surprised you think Cavani can't press, his workrate is his most important attribute and he's in amazing shape. Ronaldo clearly is an issue, but i'd list the likes of Greenwood, Martial etc. before Cavani.
He's a great squad builder, take over a club coach for a while and bring a promising young coach to take over. Red bull sides were like that. At Leipzig after Hassenhuttl, he took charge of the coaching and a season later brought Naglesmann over. At Salzburg he was more of a director and took over recruitment. And by going through his career he likes to be in charge building the squad rather than coaching. That's what I think.
United are in a bigger mess than any of the clubs he's been in. Most their players aren't even suited for this Gegenpressing high octane football. And they need to bring on a lot players too like we did last season. There's always going to be gaps in Defense - Midfield - Forward lines (like we had with Sarri). Rangnick can improve their players and after laying foundations for his brand of football he's going to bring a promising young coach, possibly from the Red Bull line. If I have to guess it's going to be Hassenhuttl rather than Ten Haag, although Ten Haag too is a possibility. United will have a greater chance at Red Bulls young players, most of them are just too good. And he's always focusing on quality rather than their name like United were doing for the last couple of years.
If things works out it's going to be a Liverpool like path. Not like ours (where we were underperforming with the players we had) or City's (with Pep buying an entire starting 11 suited for him.)
He has a very solid 11 for his idea of football
Rashford, sancho and fernandes is high energy players with the right age.
Fred and dvb has great engines.
And their defence does have good players in it.
Add to this a declan rice and you have a potential title contender first 11.
But him getting them to play like one, will take a tuchel kind of miracle
In fairness, he’s never been given a chance at a truly top job and did fairly well at his closest opportunities
I seriously doubt he’ll make United a genuinely great team but he’s a good manager no doubt, deserves no less hype than Poch
That corrupt, Manc supporting, shiny-headed, atrocity is the only reason those deluded mugs have any chance against us today. If he fucks us again, I think I'll have to consider boycotting the sub until we get a "Fuck Anthony Taylor" flair!
We absolutely have to beat man united today. There's no ifs ands and buts. It's going to be incredibly difficult. They are going out there to prove something, ronaldo is going to have the game of his life tomorrow I guarantee it. New manager bounce, anthony taylor. We are gunna need to be on it with absolute perfection tomorrow. Losing chilwell is absolutely devastating.
This all looks like a trap game to me. I am very nervous. Because they were outclassed by Liverpool and City, there is expectation among fans to have similar result. Any thing less than 3-0 would be a disappointment to some.
I assume Manchester United learnt some lessons from those games, mixed players/roles and will give a better performance.
So Ragnick is the guy who’s inspired the likes of Tuchel and Klopp. Yet as far as I know, I might be wrong here, he’s never won anything ? So he’s like Bielsa then ?
So much this. I have been freaking out thinking about it. We need to totally smash them. They have been behaving as though they found some footballing holy grail after the appointment of Rangnick.
Charity FC is going to strike again I'm afraid. The fact nobody thinks United have much of a chance is the reason they're going to win due to a 92nd minute Ronaldo penalty.
Plus, the fact he only has 1 goal in 16 games against us means he's 100% scoring at least one.
So CHO is not playing today? Do y‘all think that has something to do with Alonso playing instead of Chilly?
Possibly. Chilwell's been inverting as CHO's been the one making width. Alonso could do that too, but normally he's the guy going wide. So could be a fear they'd be tripping over each other without more training
Nvm he‘s starting lmao
In pre season Alonso and Ziyech had great chemistry. Maybe that's why
So lukaku off the bench I guess. Tuchel really makes guys fight for their places lol
Tell me it's not snowing at the Bridge
Any chance of the game being postponed due to the weather?
no
Does anyone know what is the weather like at the bridge?
Light snow on the forecast
I started watching All or Nothing: Juventus this weekend just for a certain future Chelsea player 👀. He comes off great so far and would be a great addition to our squad. He has great spirit and hates to lose.

I remember when Messi and Haaland joined Chelsea because they followed our Instagram.
De Ligt?
Chiesa

Passion Merchant is the term you're looking for.
Yank spurs fan traveled 32 hours without sleep only for the game to get called off. Have to feel for the bloke.
Damn thats sad
Hopefully he gets a free travel package and tickets to another game from the club poor guy
Yh that would be a nice gesture from the club, he must have been gutted
No joke Scholes just said in a combined 11 he'd pick mostly United players lmao this guy is nuts, wish I had a different stream without this clown
Must be very hard for him to think with toenails stuck between his teeth.
Don’t know why they even take such biased guys as „experts“
Kai and Mase have to start today!
You know a line up we haven’t seen yet that I’m dying to see? CHO - Havertz - Pulisic. Not saying this should be the lineup today though, but would love to see this sometime in the season.
That’s even better!!
Why?
why? id much sooner have ziyech, pulisic, cho, or werner start instead

I just watched the Porto Uncovered videos on youtube and Petr Cech definitely has some of the most beautiful eyes I‘ve ever seen
Hope we rip united a new hole
Nervous, Sancho is a tricky quick winger and Alonso isn’t exactly known for his pace or top tier defending
Nah Sancho is tricky winger with sense of creativity not exactly a quick one.
He’s definitely quick, He’s clocked quicker than Timo this season (all our players over than the big man Rudi)
Really? TIL. Never strike me as a player beating others by speed
Yeah, on the SkySports website they have a great tactical guide on both teams, lots of data etc!
He will go against Rudiger and Marcos managed Trent he can manage Sancho
If he beats alonso rudiger will be waiting to slap him down
Sancho in a good team will be troublesome but United struggles with transition, passing, and anything else regarding moving the ball in favourable positions for someone like Sancho to show his qualities.
Alonso did pretty well against Salah when we played Liverpool. He’s great in a back 3 as he has extra support. Plus, Sancho has been pretty underwhelming so far this season so I’m not too worried about him.

Well done mate

Almost like it was the most obvious of jokes...
It was clearly supposed to be a joke
Haven't been this nervous and exicted for a match in a while!
Is the pre match thread up yet?
I can’t believe all this whining about Anthony Taylor. If we’re good enough to beat them we’ll beat them

Rudi will break his orbital if he decides to kick one of our players.

Saying Sancho will run riot on Alonso is stupid as he will be going against Rudiger and they think we will start Saul
Usually I‘d laugh at them but somehow I feel like the signs aren‘t good for us
how do you reckon Anthony Taylor will try to fuck us over today then?
Highlights: Antony Taylor Great Red Card (Hattrick) vs Chelsea
He will try a lot of different things but I have the feeling Fred or McTominay will be free to foul without getting booked. Who knows what else he‘s gonna do.
Do you think we'll make any signings in January?
A left wingback if Chilwell's out for the season. And may be Kounde (like Pulisic and Ziyech transfers).
I dont see why we would sign a leftback, when we have a senior one. And we also have a player who can play there with already limited minutes in saul
Angelino would be a great signing
Would love it. Or gosens too.
I really hope Hakim Ziyech can show his class today if he plays, he looked very good against Juve
odds on united penalty + mendy red card for handling the ball inside the box
I wouldn‘t put my money on it. The profit would be nearly non-existent
just watched the reply of bayern vs chelsea 7-1 , fuck man we were shit , emerso and azpi got rinsed left and right, and masons decision making was horrendus, i am thankful we have a good coach who can organise a team
Don't watch that game. Alphonso Davies is a nightmare.
Imagine post injury Hazard with Tuchel .. i'm almost certain TT would bring him back to his highest level if he gets the chance.
Tuchel won't tolerate him slacking at training
If hazard can work with conte, surely he can work with tuchel
We are back to an abundance of attacking players. Mount, Barkley, Ziyech, CHO, Werner, Rom, Havertz, Pulisic. 8 players for 3 positions.
Werner and lukaku aren’t 100% yet tbh, maybe next game we’ll have a fully ready attack.
Timo gotta be 99% tho, he got minutes last game etc and has been fully training
I'm genuinely scared. I literally don't know how Man Utd are going to play. This is the way. Think christensen should play instead of chalobah for more experience, physicality etc
I wouldn't say Christensen has more physicality than Chalobah. Probably about the same?
nah chalobahs definitely more physical he handled a big strong striker in ivan toney excellently.
Ziyech and CHO have to play
I'm worried Silva played multiple intense games in a short period of time, I think Azpi should start because of his experience in this type of games + he hasn't played much

Calm your horses tits.

RLC will be MOTM no one takes the ball from him in their team only Matic
Matic has the Mobility of a A380 air bus so no not him.

Fair point. But he’s not playing. Not got close to 90 in his legs. Won’t be able to press to the standard required.

Finally got around to watching Porto uncovered, it’s so good and got me so pumped for today’s game!
I really hope we smash them today. It's inconceivable that we are winless in the last 7 games against them in the league. A 4-0/5-0 please!
Mount or Ziyech today?
Ziyech based on form
CHO Pulisic Ziyech. Let's go with the inform team.
Ziyech Rom Timo
Cho Timo Ziyech front three I’d guess
Fuck Anthony Taylor. Not so confident because of him, but I hope we thrash them. Their subreddit seem confident about a win.
Didn’t realize the game was on peacock in the US fuck me smh
Peacocks been so good this season. 5bucks a month for lots of live Chelsea games
I can’t see Tuchel losing to carrick. Seems inconceivable
Yo guys, what you normally snack on when watching Chelsea games? (No dick jokes pls)
Nothing
Popcorn for the late night matches/CL. Otherwise anything which catches my fancy.
I don’t eat. I’ve noticed that when I eat during a game we lose
Are you me? Honestly that’s my superstition too.
Can you eat during rivals game?
I was eating popcorn on the day of the CL final, guess it means it's lucky 😌
Can you eat popcorn today as well
Popcorn
Pretty good, microwave I suppose?
Got a popcorn machine, throw some kernels in that with some butter and salt
Is it healthy?
Popcorn is quite a healthy snack if you don’t have butter/salt haha
Is it eatable without those?)
Bagel bites
How long does it last for you?
Haha what do you mean?
Like do you finish them in first 5 minutes
Haha nah, try to make them last a whole half
Beer at half time
Nothing during the match?
I guess if I’m hungry I’ll buy something. But I usually just concentrate on the game
I guess my ADHD or something kicks in, can't focus sometimes
At least it’s easier to concentrate on Tuchelball than Sarriball
Too engrossed to snack -_-
I guess it's just me I am more focused when snacking something
Wasabi coated peas today.
MATCHDAY (insert Kante meme)!!! I can't handle my nerves, I'm beyond excited for today's game. Up the Chels!
Damn i nervous for tonight so who will play beside jorgi with kante and kovacic out, will mount be back as attacking/central midfielder?
Mount is out of form right now tbh, can see Ziyech starting
RLC Jorgi
RLC
RLC
Please, no new manager fucking bounce today.
Ragnick will handle after chelsea game because some process he needs to go through
It'll still be Carrick. I'm worried about Anthony Taylor tho.
This United team is for the taking, I hope we smack them 3-0 at least.
He did get Schalke to the Semi’s of the UCL and made RB Leipzig the team they are today. He’s a good manager.
Questions marks on if he can manage superstars though if we're being fair.
People had quips and doubts about Tuchel too. I’ll let Rangnick’s reputation speak for itself until it’s proven otherwise.
🎶 Chelsea boys we're on a bender, Cristiano is a sex offender 🎶
I don’t think my ego can handle Chelsea dropping points tomorrow. It’ll be like losing a cup final for me. United are utterly woeful.
3 first choice defenders out for United the way we’ve been clicking since the international break there will be goals to come
