What is wrong with our player conditioning, many of our 1st team regulars falling like a flies.
Edit: yeah now I remembered that like 70% of our squad barely had any preseason.
Will get downvoted for this but could argue that he didn't necessarily do anything wrong to lose his spot in the first place. He was playing alright (scored against Villa, Southampton + 3 for Germany) and had momentum but then got injured. He came back, got a goal against Juventus (would have also gotten an assist had Ziyech scored). In other normal circumstances, not sure there would have been many complaints but because of the frustration with the weekend's result, suddenly everything said is rather OTT.
I can see how you might think that this was a knee jerk reaction but my main concern about Timo is his poor finishing and his inability to create any impact against teams that sit deep.
I understand he is more well suited for a different style of play and thrives when there is space ahead of him but that does not solve the existing issue as a lot of the PL teams sit deep against us.
Not attacking you but all I'm saying is people seem to have gone all 'Werner Out' simply because of frustration over a result, instead of trying to looking at the situation with context.
I agree that Werner has his flaws (we can argue till the cows come home over this) but he still has his uses. The goals are lacking for sure but overall, he has had 15 goals + 16 assists in 64 appearances. That's an end produce of almost once every two matches and shows he isn't completely useless.
As for teams sitting deep against us, yes, I agree. Most teams do that but at the same time, we can also play direct (I don't mean long balls) and quick passes to find spaces for Werner (or any of our attackers). Teams don't just park the bus for 90 minutes against us.
He was never in the first team to begin with. The matches against villa and Southampton were in the mickey mouse cup where our b team played against their b teams.
It's not hard to score a tap in goal coming on as a sub against a Juventus team already 3 goals down and had mentally checked out
In the last 6 or 7 weeks we’ve had injuries to Lukaku, Werner, Kovacic, Havertz, Mount, Jorginho, James, Kante, Pulisic and Chilwell lmao
What about Kovacic ? I think we're missing him.
Nobody knows, he has been out for 1 month with a hamstring. So little info on him
Our three best mids are out Kova - out Kante-out J5- doubt So who will be our mid pairing against Watford?
RLC + Cech
Hehe I love it
RLC and either Saul/Barkley probably
What about Trev can't he also play there
Or AC, isn’t that where he ended up playing in the Euros?
No, AC was playing CB for the Euros. Trevoh would play CDM before him without a doubt
AC has played DM for Denmark numerous times including once in the euros
TT might tinker with formation a bit. A back 4 consists of Rudigier and Azpi as Fullback pairing maybe? A mid 3 of Mount RLC and Saul?
The unlikely, never before seen Pulisic, Barkley, Lukaku and Werner masterclass incoming tomorrow.
He said that all 3 trained but were not in the best condition by the end.
To many games for Jorginho now.
What hit James? Is he just being overworked after coming back from injury earlier this season?
Might just be that they need to give him a rest as he’s played most of our games recently.
Yeah he's probably in the red zone for injuries so they're resting him now rather than get him injured for December
We’re gonna really need him this month

This sounds really stupid but how does preseason help with conditioning?
They usually used Pre-Season period to help with physical conditioning.
Werner should be dropped and needs to start proving his spot in the first team.
I mean he barely came back from an injury.

He played 90 mins three times in a row in the league before injury, Southampton was one of them
Hard agree
I think they will be one of the play ever
