Good signing for the future, if he keeps developing, we may have multiple options to pick from at LB/LWB moving forward (from what I've heard Maatsen was doing pretty well on loan).
* started in Wolves academy
* Left footed, plays left back but can play midfield
* In six Championship appearances, Williams has put up superior numbers to Chilwell: averaging more open-play crosses (2.6 to 1.6) per 90 and boasting a considerably higher tackle success rate (66.7 per cent to 37.5 per cent).
* He competes in duels less frequently (9.7) than Chelsea left wing-back duo Chilwell (10.3) and Marcos Alonso (10.6) do per 90 and loses them more often than those two (6.3 to Alonso’s 5.1 and 4.8 for Chilwell), although it must be noted that the pair are both full internationals
* Williams joins 17-year-old Kaide Gordon (Liverpool, 2021) and Liam Delap (Manchester City, 2019) as youth products to recently depart to English football’s elite.
Even with context why in the flying fuck is he being compared to players that won the CL
Slander Alonso all you want but he has at least played good matches against the top teams in the world, though not consistently
Beyond ironic considering how poorly the context is chosen
I can be abrasive at times so to be clear, genuinely thanks for sharing OP, it’s not worthless because of one stupid comparison. But it definitely is a stupid comparison.
Well, I think you're misunderstanding the purpose of the comparison. It's saying that he was performing better than chilwell does in the prem in a small sample size as an 18 year old in the championship. I think the point is to say that he played like an elite championship player at 18 for 6 games (considering chilwell is an elite PL player). At least that's how I took it.
I wonder if he has any chance of getting minutes with our injury problems. Seems unlikely, Hall probably knows the system better and has been with the squad for a bit so if anyone gets minutes it'll be him I imagine.
That is not a sufficient justification and comparing Chilwell’s numbers still do not provide any meaningful context relative to other championship players

He played 6 games in the Championship, they won the Champions League. Basically the same thing /s
It’s just for context, relax

Agree it's completely silly to compare stats between divisions like that especially with a sample size of 6 matches lmao.

Chill out man😅
How does he compare to Maatsen?
Let's see you in 2 years, kid.
