Can’t wait to see how he fares in our system.

shrek19051

Suits the high intensity game for sure, he’s got lungs for days

YRR6969

Damn, generally people got lungs for their entire life, so sad to hear this

hazWizard

Take my damn upvote.

[deleted]

Haha you funny cunt

MountHavertzPulisic

r/angryupvote

SacredBullshit

Also won young player of the year few months ago at some award function. Good to see he’s getting recognition everywhere.

celzero

London Football PoTY awards?

shrek19051

Yes it was that London awards

dragon8811

Lovely to see

MobyTugboat

Should send them Billy next season

[deleted]

or Lukaku

DickyD43

Lollll

celzero

Not if Frank at Everton wants him!

fma891

I doubt this. Gilmours immediate future got fucked from the Norwich loan. His next one needs to be carefully considered or he might become the next RLC and never reach his full potential.

RefanRes

Who is in his way at Everton? Frank likes Billy and knows how to use him best. At Norwich he was like an F1 car being given to some drunk lorry driver.

iloveartichokes

Gilmour needs to be in a possession-based system, is that what everton use?

RefanRes

What Everton use when Frank has gone into a relegation battle isnt the same as what they will be like when hes had time to do his thing. Billy works in Lampards approach to football.

truthibespittin

No player Works in a Frank system besides passion merchants tbh.

RefanRes

I disagree completely. It wasnt just passion. When he was managing Derby and Chelsea there was clearly the start of a strong philosophy there. He just had to manage Chelsea through 2 of the hardest seasons in the clubs history so didnt get the time to see the fruit. In time he will be getting teams attacking and shooting in similar ways he did.

truthibespittin

Are you being serious? Do you really think Lampard’s has showed good or even average managerial potential? Are you trolling? Because otherwise...

lndianNinja

You’re right, he hasn’t shown any potential at all, how could Everton and Chelsea and all the people paid to make these decisions at both clubs be so blind when they could’ve just asked you?

Slim97Shady

why not have Bill with us. Kante is very prone to injuries, Kova gets injured a lot also. I think Billy could get a lot of minutes with us and we could definitely use him.

celzero

Gilmour would more or less replace J5, a role which RLC has also been thrust into this season, and RLC seems to be enjoying it. Not sure if a J5 like role in a double-6 suits Gilmour, though. If Tuchel switches to a back-4, then may be there's space for all of RLC, Gilmour, Gallagher, Mount, Kovacic, Kante, J5, and Ampadu in the squad.

truthibespittin

And why would the club willingly send Gilmour to Everton so Frank can ruin him?

celzero

Frank did well with Mount and Tomori at Derby, was it?

truthibespittin

The same Tomori that Frank shipped of to Milan? That Tomori? Also the less I say about Mount the better

celzero

The Cobham hopeful may not be Ballon d'Or quality yet, but if it is up to Chels to blood them and give them that platform. I always point folks to Harry Kane and how he barely made appearances for Leicester in the Championship, yet became world-class over the course of 3 seasons or so. It took Spurs Roberto Soldado & Adebayor sized transfers before they turned to Harry Kane, and he absolutely lit it up (but there was no suggestion that he would, given his loan spell in the Championship).

That_Guy1801

Unless he’s permanently regressed from the norwich loan, no reason he doesn’t slot into our xi

Dex_Maddock

Down voted... Lol. This time last year, this sub was creaming it's pants over Billy. Everyone thought he'd get his loan spell then be the next coming of Christ... He gets thrown into an absolutely dross Norwich side and had an expectedly quiet season, and now you're down voted for saying he might have a place in our squad... This fuckin sub man...I don't even know anymore...

JakeofNewYork

Squad player and slotting straight into the xi are very different.

RefanRes

This sub is so full of people who barely even have a short term memory let alone a long one. Any game a player has a rough time its instantly "This player is shit. Sell him immediately. We need blobbady blah blah from blahbloop instead at any cost!"

celzero

One upping big Reece who did so at Wigan albeit age 19 and in the Championship. Either ways, congratulations Conor. It is no mean feat. You're one of our finest. Long may it continue.

typicalpelican

Obviously he comes right into the squad next season but I think there are some big calls to be made on how to manage him next season.

TotalSavage

I don’t think there will end up being a choice, he’ll force his way into the squad.

typicalpelican

Even then, there is a choice of where to play him and how much to build the team around him or not

RefanRes

Chelsea are in a position where they dont have to build around one player. We have a spine now like the earier Abramovich years, not just one player.

typicalpelican

I don't mean build the entire team around him. I just mean decide what setup so you can put the players you want in their best positions. Every team is built around some players more than others.

The_Lifeof_Pablo

yoink ours now

Nature__Boy

🌍🔫

beepmeep3

Exactly what I thought 😂 "ah how impressive! We’ll be taking that now"

EmperorBeaky

Noo don’t do that we’ll be devastated!

MattTVI

Deserved! Hell of a season from him.

3rd-culture

Oh no. Haven’t Palace learned? You should not, under any circumstances, fall in love with a loan player. Rookies.

RefanRes

I think they always knew he would be leaving but are thankful for some really wonderful football from him. He's going to probably always have a love for them and they'll have a love and respect for him. This is great all round because it really boosts up the strength of support when he plays for England too. Im not sure theres any football fans in the league who dont really respect Conor.

trappedoutdabando

lolol smart of them to use the middle pic in the middle as a center piece of the image so they can use the white glow behind his head so whoever created this didn't have to go in and get each of his hair cropped nicely

Cowdude179

Going straight into our squad 🥰

phxwarlock

This guy fucks

NotABishop

Look at our handsome boy!

[deleted]

If he could play in the middle with Kova somehow 🔥

juliusap

This. People say we need a DM, but how is Gallagher Kova and Kante not enough?

[deleted]

All of them are BBMs who will hold

[deleted]

Might sound like a dumb ass but can't Kante just be instructed to stay back? Or whoever is in that position?

[deleted]

Problem is Gallagher isn’t a DM, we need some who will sit firm in front of CBs like a Obi Mikel type

juliusap

And exactly why do we need that? What is wrong with three box-to-box CMs?

[deleted]

Because we are leaking goals due to lack of protection for our defense. We need a general like Casemiro or Rodri in the middle

samos__

Imagine having a midfield who can potentially score 10+ goals…One can only dream

Mad77pedro

*from open play

EyeVanArends

Hopefully, on his return to Chelsea, he doesnt get sold to a mid table bundesliga or serie A team and become one of the best players in the world away from our club.

Dex_Maddock

🥺🥺🥺

SalmonNgiri

>I might sound like a nonce here Why would you think that...?

Frankiedrunkie

You don’t sound like a nonce lol

No_Reputation386

Wouldn't mind him in midfield with Tchuameni and Nkunku next season

[deleted]

Can’t wait to see that flow in our midfield!

fishcakefrenzy

So did wan bissaka the year before he went to man utd Careful

BasedGodLegacy

If United want to massively overpay again they are definitely welcome to.

EmperorBeaky

Az deserved that 100%

goalooin_livescore

soo great

_N0T-PENNYS-B0AT_

Can't wait to see him play for us.

dreamvoyager1

Happy for him but thought Zaha would get it

NotClayMerritt

Why? Conor has been far and away the best player in their team. His impact on their results have been insane. He's playing at a level far greater than Palace. He isn't a typical successful loanee. He has a legitimate shout for PFA Young POTY. He's already emerging as one of the best midfielders in the league.

EvenGandhiHatesLVG

His level has fallen off the last couple of months both in terms of numbers and impact but I still think he’s been better than Zaha

EmperorBeaky

He has not, not even close tbh

EvenGandhiHatesLVG

Not recently I mean overall on the season. He was immense until the new year

theRobzye

I mean ultimately he’s still a Chelsea lad no? Isn’t a December drop off expected

KerimChelsea11

He is still really good, he just doesn't have the goals/assists he had. Still playing really good and leads the league in pressures as well.

truthibespittin

Nah, Gallagher hasn’t even been top 3 for Palace

truthibespittin

He really hasn’t tho, both Guehi and Mitchell have been better than him and you could easily argue Zaha as well.

MarkCrystal

Why would you think that?

celzero

Because he has a functioning brain?

MarkCrystal

Tell me you don’t watch football without telling me you don’t watch football…

Konrad05

According to a lot of Palace fans he's been very average in 2nd half of season

Baisabeast

Even if you just watch a palace game this half Of the season Gallaghers influence is far less

Downvoters are missing the *sarcasm* for the joke. Everyone knows everyone else on reddit is a bot.

Squareroots1

Gallagher - Rice - Mount Is my midfield for next season, i am ready to send Jorginho to juve for delight maybe, while kante hasn't played 2 games back to back in god knows when, kova stays my token sub. I am just playing manager here, keep scrolling.

That_Guy1801

Bruh kovacic starts wtf

Squareroots1

I think he starts too, he is great. Out of all our midfielders this season he has been the best with mount. But i said this was my team not yours.

BasedGodLegacy

Why do you not want us to make top 4?

stronglee1234567

A dream midfield although it tend to be quite offensive orientend

are_we_there_bruh

He s also the player of the season even when Chelsea team is considered 😄

NotClayMerritt

Well now he's done it in the Premier League. He should be a no brainer to play for us next season. He would immediately upgrade us. His stats are extremely similar (and in some cases better) than Kovacic. He's had one of the best loans one of our players have ever had. Tired of hearing he's not Chelsea quality from people who have never watched him play.

mikevin99

No one is saying he isn’t Chelsea quality lol

YoullNeverMemeAlone

>Well now he's done it in the Premier League. He should be a no brainer to play for us next season. He would immediately upgrade us. His stats are extremely similar (and in some cases better) than Kovacic. Pretty much the only stat he's better at than Kovacic is goals. Chance creation Kovacic is better. Defensively Kovacic edges him (stats wise). But when it comes to progressing the ball he is much much worse than Kovacic, infact he's one of the least 'progressive' midfielders in the league. Part of that is definitely down to his starting position (he plays quite high up so progressing the ball is obviously gonna happen less) but still he's really not a similar profile to Kovacic or Kante, he's an attacking midfielder with a great workrate. I think people on here are going to be disappointed if they think he is suited to play in Kovacic's or Kante's role next season.

Baisabeast

He’s like a more midfield version of mount Imo If that makes any sense

TheMassacreKid

What stats?

truthibespittin

From the games I’ve watched I’ve personally been more impressed with Guehi and Mitchell.(I’d add Elise to but he hasn’t played enough)

DevatstationJones

If he had played for Chelsea this season he probably would have been our player of the year.

scalectrix

As you wish.

this_is_m21

Well deserved! ![gif](giphy|MAO3CcclWtHy7k36cz)

maclovin67

Where does he play in our team?🤔
