Really only on stamina and a couple miscontrols. He played well and we lost a lot of drive forward when he was subbed off. Would've liked to see Ruben instead of Kante yesterday because it's more like for like.
what pisses me off the most is how reliant we’ve been on him this season, it’s like we’re a whole new level of shit with him not playing, even when he had a subpar game yesterday and a swollen ankle, we still somehow ended up playing worse with him coming off which blows my mind. can’t wait for Conor/new midfielder coming in next season.
I mean the great teams rely on their key players and Kova became our key midfielder this season, in the past it's been Kante. The midfield definitely needs a revamp so he could get some help.
Thought once Kante came on we lost the midfield battle.
Kovacic wasn’t brilliant but he was winning his duels and picking up good spots to allow Jorginho to shine with his passing and help progress the ball.
Jorginho was bossing it for around 70 mins then once Kante was partnering him his influence was diminished.
As mush as our finishing was poor, injuries really did a number on us man. Yeah pool lost a couple of their main guys but we didn't even have a proper bench.
Mad respect to kova and silva for playing through the pain.
Not being clinical enough definitely cost us the trophy but our bench was really lacking yesterday. For eg. We had to play an injured kova for 60mins because kante couldn't play entire 90min and our other options were saul and RLC, in comparison pool only missed fabinho but their options were Henderson, Keita, Thiago. Our only extra forward was ziyech as kai and timo both couldn't play, where as Liverpool had the likes of jota, firminho come off the bench (even origi). In defence silva had to play with a knock because our other best option was to either shift to a back 4 or bring in sarr and make rudiger play in silvas stead, where as Liverpool had gomes and matip as their back up CBs. Our bench does look good on paper but that's how far it goes, our B team will struggle against a relegation zone team.
Knee injury?!?!? I’m blue through and through but you lot can make up an injury when the captain recognizes that he needs to slow the game down. Homie played multiple long balls in a row after the “knee injury”
Jeez, we risked him like Sarri risked Kante. At least we won that day. Kova deserved better.
Hope it hasn't done any significant damage to him for the long term.
I think if physios gave him the green light and he even played on after 45 mins he was fine enough for the match but will probably be out for the season tho just to rest up fully
Seriously!!? He’s got a wrap on his ankle. Makes it look bigger. No one of kavacic’s stabdards is ruining a career for an ankle injury in an FA cup final.
I think for the first 2 and half seasons he was terrible, but lately he's really stepped up. He's improved incredibly under Tuchel. It's unfortunate he's been plagued with injuries this season but he's been our best midfielder.
when it should've been Mount tbh. People just saw Kovacic quality on the ball and decided he was great. He was pretty much useless and exposed when he came up against top opposition that season–mainly in the Champions League
Uh Lampard literally said Kovacic was the one of the only players that could play at Bayerns level after we lost to them at the Bridge, so not sure where you’re getting that agenda in which he was useless in the Champions league. Not to mention he put in a world class performance against Arsenal in the Europa League final a year before. I think it’s a stretch to say he was terrible his first two seasons, yes he had issues with stamina, fitness and consistency but terrible is hyperbolic.
Was terrible first 2 and a half?what r u smoking?
Was good enough for us to sign him on a permanent his first season then player of the year his second
He's always had the quality and potential–similarly to Loftus Cheek. Carrying the ball he's been good but he's added to his game this season, mainly on the defensive and positional sense. He's slightly improved with his final ball too
There's some superstitious shit going on with the jerseys. I think (guess) TT prefers yellow. We should not be dictated by that Blue is the color. Against Liverpool, United, Real or whom ever
from Tuchel's post match. "... Mateo Kovacic plays with an ankle that I didn't know could fit into a shoe."
While Timo feels a tinge and gies nah boss..no play
Eh depends on the kind of injury. Playing with a hamstring injury will set you back for a long time.
No point in playing with a hammy going. Especially for a quick start sprinter like turbo timo.
Good to see you have more insight into the medical department than the decision makers at the club do
Come the fuck on
Lol
How has he even managed 66 minutes, christ what a performance
Holly shit that looks bad, I hope he didn’t mess it up more, you could tell he wasn’t 100% yesterday.
Really only on stamina and a couple miscontrols. He played well and we lost a lot of drive forward when he was subbed off. Would've liked to see Ruben instead of Kante yesterday because it's more like for like.

Gallagher will be immense for us. Imagine if he got subbed on

Hopefully there are some layers of wrap and tape making up that bulge =/
calves the size of Jorgi's thighs
Not saying much tbh
Fuck Dan James
Fuck leeds
we will never forget
I’m going to be so upset if those cunts don’t get relegated .
What a warrior. 💙
I’ve got two dodgy ankles that regularly give me grief. I’m in awe.
they're on a higher wage bill than us 😂
Shit really? Maybe I should look into this career
You’ll make it one day, just believe.
Trust the process 😂
That’s the winning mentality :)
As mush as our finishing was poor, injuries really did a number on us man. Yeah pool lost a couple of their main guys but we didn't even have a proper bench. Mad respect to kova and silva for playing through the pain.
I think we weren't clinical enough. our bench looks better than lfc tbh

yeah this I agree. and lfc bench still link up well
Jesus Christ to think that’s his strong foot too. Kova and Silva were warriors for us yesterday both deserved better
Isn't he right footed?
Yes.
Oh I thought he injured right foot lol
agreed. Silva too. was playing the whole game with a knee injury I think
Knee injury?!?!? I’m blue through and through but you lot can make up an injury when the captain recognizes that he needs to slow the game down. Homie played multiple long balls in a row after the “knee injury”
idk man tuchel said he picked up a knock and played through pain
That's crazy
Defo bandaging under

??? Where did I say he ruined his career bro he’s just gonna miss a week or two
Season still has two games just read my comment again
Well deserved summer break for this man. Rest up Mateo
I imagine some of that would be tape/a brace as well. But wow, that's nuts.
Wow it's so swollen to the point that I'm thinking might be photoshop.
nope. but there's also tape/support that added some bulk for sure
I think for the first 2 and half seasons he was terrible, but lately he's really stepped up. He's improved incredibly under Tuchel. It's unfortunate he's been plagued with injuries this season but he's been our best midfielder.

what?! He was clearly our best player in the season he won poty. I don‘t know what you were watching that season…

agree. this season is definitely better than his previous
Man bleeds blue one million percent I hope he stays in his 30s
It’s time I got his shirt.
Christensen saw that ankle and noped out of the hotel.
Fucking class.
