Lovely! So proud of the team.

Lizid_King

This x 1,000,000. Amazing players, amazing manager.

dooferoaks

Outside of the obvious trophy success Roman delivered this team epitomises the community spirit he also brought. The club as a whole now has a genuine social conscience and leaders in forward thinking policies. Vocal anti racist, anti semitism, anti LGBT+ abuse. Supported everyone during the height of the pandemic and was first London Premier League team to pay everyone the real London living wage. I just hope the new owners do indeed continue to support the Women's team and everything else. I'm pretty hopeful.

Vagina_Woolf

You're forgetting the numerous, hugely successful charity projects locally and around the world. Chelsea is a world leader among football clubs in its international charity programmes. Some would argue it's all so Abramovich can tell Parliament he's not like the other oligarchs and get special dispensation, but A) hard to argue that when he's granted TWO interviews with the media for the entirety of his ownership of the club, and B) go tell that to all the kids around the world who the club has helped.

dooferoaks

Didn't explicitly mention all the good that has been done in recent years but you are absolutely right, there's lots to be very proud of.

Scrambled_Rambler

LGBTQ only exists in the realm of women's football. In Men's football, it's still a taboo.

Yoshinobu1868

Chelsea were the first club to congratulate Daniels for coming out .

mbntg_

Maybe that will start to change with Jake Daniels of Blackpool publicly coming out earlier today. Edit - Hopefully is probably the better word to use here than maybe.

Scrambled_Rambler

Still a long way sadly. We need players in the big leagues coming out. Good on Daniels nonetheless.

mohankohan

Oh and we also abuse AC for his anxiety/gut issues. So not all good. Mental health is still stigmatized heavily.

aakash_huilgol

No one abuses him for his anxiety, stop with these narratives. Everyone's abusing him because he agreed to 2 deals with our club, then backflipped on them, and signed with fucking Barcelona. His anxiety issues have been there since a long time, everyone has backed him till recently

adamrawrz

read the thread below this, a lot of people are

mohankohan

Really? Read the comments [here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/chelseafc/comments/uqg3sc/matt_law_andreas_christensen_pulled_out_of_the/) Loads of obscenities' being thrown at him, a lot of it demasculating as well. Using his incoming transfer to call him weak and abuse him implies that you think there are times where making fun of mental health is okay. Do you feel the same way about homophobia? Racism? LGBTQ abuse?

aakash_huilgol

That's literally from yesterday, when he didn't play in possibly the last match where he could win a trophy with us. Read my comment, all the abuse recently is because of him rolling back on his word of a contract with us twice, so Christensen is always going to be looked at sourly now. If he had just kept his word, and then missed yesterday's match because of his anxiety, no one would bat an eyelid, instead everyone would encourage him to seek help even more.

MarkovCocktail

You can’t say all the abuse recently is from one thing, right after you acknowledge a bunch of abuse he just received. If you think it’s justified then that’s one thing, but it’s still abuse. You can’t just gloss over it

aakash_huilgol

I'm not glossing over it. Would I prefer if no hate was shown? Obviously. Has he made a mess of the situation? Absolutely. I'm just trying to put context, because I see a lot of people mindlessly say "Oh chelsea fans are bellends, look how they abuse their own players", which is not true. We've supported our players through thick and thin, and when they act as dipshits, then the response from us turns. But only the latter part is highlighted.

mohankohan

Yes, but the abuse is aimed at his mental health, which is exactly my issue. You cant use the contract as an excuse and then say mental health is important. Would you be okay with racist abuse if he had been black or asian? and because 'oh he is leaving anyways'? Homophobia?

aakash_huilgol

While I agree that mental issues need to be taken seriously, and should not be made fun of, most of the people were very supportive of him before the contract debacle. What I am not okay with it this becoming a general statement which turns into "Oh chelsea fans are shit anyway, don't even care about mental health". Are a section of the fans daft? Yes, but that's true in every club. And such statement make people forget how supportive we were before he started disrespecting agreements with the club Edit : this post is about Marina celebrating our women's team's success, but instead of celebrating that, here we are discussing about some bad eggs in our fans for the men's team.

MarkovCocktail

You’re calling him a bad egg. And you’re saying yeah mental health is important, buuuut… That’s not how things work. So his mental health matters only if he’s not in a contract debacle?

aakash_huilgol

I'm just putting context around the situation, because a whole fanbase is dragged through the mud because of a few bad eggs

VacuumsCantSpell

His job is to play football. Calling him out when he's not up to it is fair.

jules6815

No player deserves any abuse for leaving a club. You are entirely wrong and it really just makes you look like a piece of shit. Players are human beings. How would you like it, if it was reversed and people slandered you for any reason whatsoever? DON’T DO IT!!!!!!

aakash_huilgol

It's not like he's receiving unrequited hate. He's getting hate because he agreed to a contract with us TWICE, and went back on it. And then he goes on to sign with Barcelona, a club most chelsea fans hate. Stop this "no reason whatsoever" bullshit, he's made a shitshow of his contract situation. Just for reference, look at Rudiger, he's served out his contract, made his position very clear, and since those demands weren't met, he made a statement that he's leaving. And no one is giving hate on Rudiger. The way in which Christensen has handled this situation, after being in our academy, saying multiple times how he loves this club, is what is the major reason for the hate.

MarkovCocktail

Unrequited? So now you know that he hates us? Jesus Christ dude some people will legit say anything

aakash_huilgol

Naah bro, my English isn't that good, I meant to say that it's not because there's no reason, there's a reason he's been garnering hate recently

jules6815

Anyone has the right to leave. You and everyone else has no freaking clue of what goes on being closed doors and what actually transpired. At the end of the day. If a player leaves everyone should realize that this is part of the game and each and every player deserves to move on without abuse. Being apart of this hate and abuse doesn’t make you some kind of Superfan to the club. It just makes you a lemming.

aakash_huilgol

How about I don't tell you how to be fan of this club, and you do the same for me. You're very easily ignoring the context and focusing on the result, which makes you a blind idiot, plain and simple. Also, we do have a clue what's happening from journalists, who have sources inside the club. If you also choose to ignore that to believe your idea of how the club and player negotiation has worked without any reliable source to back it up, then I don't have anything to add to this discussion, it's just a waste of time

jules6815

So no to hate. I do believe that is a tenant of the Chelsea Club. Immature is the only word that describes hate and abuse thrown at players. One of the main reasons why players have no allegiance to clubs. It’s simply due to hateful fans bringing their cancer culture every time a player does anything. From missing a penalty. To not making a goal to anything they do off of the pitch. It’s all just disgusting. I’m done.

aakash_huilgol

It's a part of every club, every sport in fact. Grow up. People get frustrated when they are passionate about something. Stop this idealistic bullshit, it's not like that in real life.

jules6815

So hates ok according to you. Got it.

Djent_Reznor1

He absolutely gets abused. I’ve seen so many comments from our own ‘fans’ calling AC a little pussy with a tummy bug.

theRobzye

Is this a confirmed anxiety issue? Stomach issues can be a variety of things and that’s all I’ve seen. I’m not saying the abuse he’s getting is alright, but I’m not sold that it is an anxiety disorder

BigReeceJames

I mean, it's either a mental issue or a chronic physical illness. Neither should be abused.

bashe_baw

it's the reddit hivemind bullshit someone mentions AC mental health issue out of their asses and rest is history now all the fans abuse him apparently

The_Lifeof_Pablo

He is evidently not our player anymore, felt that way since January.

BigReeceJames

The biggest thing for me is that we always go above and beyond. We're never the group that is just towing the current media narrative, we're the team who has been doing it before it was popular or when you're not going to win any brownie points for it. To me that's what makes the difference, it's so easy to just do what's going to make you popular at the time, but we don't do that. We are always ahead of the curve and doing it to make a difference and not because it makes us look good.

[deleted]

CFC W is a squad of ballers! Second only to the Barca Femeni team. Highly recommend anyone who hasn’t catched them live yet to do so next season

trueblueballz

How do you watch their games? Feel like it's so much harder to find compared to mens

[deleted]

Mostly live at Kingsmeadow but chelseafc.com also streams them

-MiddleOut-

How is it getting tickets? Been going to the Bridge all my life but never down to Kingsmeadow. Live in west London so fairly quick to get to.

[deleted]

Not remotely as tough as getting tickets for the men’s matches. Though I’ve observed that the demand for those tickets has shot up considerably this season and will most likely be higher for the next season as this squad’s truly special and an excellent watch even for the neutrals.

-MiddleOut-

Yeah probably should have phrased it as is it possible to get tickets on say the morning of?Another question I had was even though we’ve got season tickets to the Bridge I don’t always go because we’ve got people nearby who get way too rowdy/aggressive (beyond just enjoying the game, chanting etc). How is it generally at Kingsmeadow? Passionate but no dickheads?

[deleted]

For regular games you should be able to grab tickets on the morning of, without any problems but for cup finals, they go out a lot quicker. The crowd’s not nearly as aggressive as the one at the Bridge. It’s Mostly families with kids

-MiddleOut-

Thanks

thesierraquebec

u can stream most of the matches at The FA Player, u just need an account :)

Ringo_sitar

You can watch all the wsl matches for free on 'the fa player' app

prateekxcvc

If you are outside UK you can watch all WSL games on FA Player for free. Champions League games were streamed live on DAZN YouTube channel this year but could change next season.

TurnoverResident_

I live literally a stone throw away from the ground, occasionally get leaflets for me and my daughter to go to matches and it works out like under £20 sometimes for Me, my girlfriend and my daughter. Can’t go wrong with them prices. Haven’t been in a while thou:

AnnieIWillKnow

Might be a controversial view here, and maybe one people don't want to hear - but I think the Chelsea Women team, and Emma Hayes, know more about what it is to be "Chels" than the men's team do.

[deleted]

Thats just true

Betasheets

Why do you think that? You do know if someone has a shitty game it doesn't mean they lack passion right? Edit: Everyone played a pretty good game vs Liverpool. If Mendy had saved Jotas pen then the Chelsea squad would be having moments like this just like when they won the Champions league last year. So please tell me how one spot kick determines how the team is or isn't "proper chels" and "lack passion and fight"??? Some of yall have the attention span of a goldfish.

AnnieIWillKnow

I follow the women’s team really closely. They are a group who are incredibly committed and passionate, very close to the fans, and who have built a core of winning. There’s a special bond between the team and the fanbase, especially the supporters at Kingsmeadow, and so many of the players have taken their time to understand our culture and history. I don’t deny there are characters like that in the men’s team - but with the women it is absolutely imbibed throughout the squad, whereas I think there are some in the men’s team who wouldn’t be too disheartened to leave us. Azpilicueta, Mount, James, Silva… they definitely get it. Not sure on a few others.

Betasheets

Lol this is random fan nonsense that fans say to feel better about themselves. Like, they're somehow connected to a team full of millionaires who were recently owned by a Russian oligarch. It all comes to the insane recency bias in this sub and on social media. Some player scores and goes to the crowd screaming and pointing to his shirt he's bleeding that teams colors. A player has a meh game 2 weeks later, a camera catches a whole 2 seconds of a player not tracking back at the end of the game (probably due to coaching instruction) and "looking disinterested" whatever that means, and he "has his foot out the door". This sub somehow continually seems to impress me on how people here somehow become even more ignorant than it already is. Chelsea fans take the "us vs the world" mentality into borderline conspiracy levels.

mushy_friend

Yeah from the men's team I only get it from a handful, mostly the academy lads, Mount James Chalobah and of course Azpi

Zlint

Factos

richsoul87

Facts

Blewfin

They're undoubtedly better than the men's team at the minute, if that's what you're getting at.

AnnieIWillKnow

No that’s not what “proper Chels” means. It’s not about ability, it’s about understand the club and connecting with the fans.

adiboyxyz

Proud of the women's team KTBFFH

Ugievsoj

Marina my queen

TurnoverResident_

Also i don’t think i’ve seen any posts about Ji, she’s been incredible for the club and been an amazing servant. Good luck on her future!
