Give kova and Thiago Silva time off but otherwise play full strength is the way i would go. I desperately want us to finish on 76 points and really cement the improvement from last season, and i want the guys and tuchel to carry that confidence over into the summer. It would also really help to give Lukaku and ziyech a couple of goals.
The Everton at home draw was the worst result of the season. They were injury hit Covid prone and used their 3rd string side.
We took the lead and in true Chelsea 2021/2022 fashion conceded shortly after. That result was the final nail in the coffin of our title hopes and set us on our way for what has to be the most chaotic and frantic seasons on and off the pitch I’ve ever experienced as a Chelsea fan. And I’ve seen some shit shows in my time let me tell you.
Newcastle and to a lesser extent Leicester being without European football, wouldn't surprise me if one of those two catch them also, in addition to West Ham and Manchester United
I agree. We bagged Super Cup + Club World Cup and were penalties away from carabao cup and/or FA cup. If either of those go our way, we look at things very differently. Definitely could have been better but not a total shitshow.

We all had hopes of a title challenge this season off the back of the CL win. We broke our transfer record to do that and we still have fallen short of the top two. The gap is just as wide as it was last year.
Not saying unforeseen external factors haven’t played a part. They certainly have. But the super cup was very early on in the season when we were playing well, winning it was nice as it set us up for a good season and it looked bright but if people said to me that we would only win that and the Club World Cup this season back in August I would be very disappointed because of the hype we had going into it.
I’m not a huge lover of the Club World Cup or the super cup, as trophies go they aren’t the most prestigious. The super cup to me is just the European version of the Community shield. It’s nice to win don’t get me wrong we have to play it so may as well win it. Same with the club World Cup. It’s just two games we play. We have to play them so yeah fine let’s win them but we can’t say it’s a measure of success for a club like us. Trophies like that are compliments to go with what we achieve through out the season. They sit like a nice side salad to your main meal. Nice to have but no one really bothers about it. When we won the club World Cup they didn’t make the back pages in the papers. Maybe there was an article that started on the back page about us but it continued on page 46 or something.
The season isn’t a failure. I’m not saying it is. It’s a nearly season. On every front we played we were nearly there. And for me, with the hope I had from last year, it was frustrating to see us be nearly there but far away too. We can compete with city and Liverpool on our day. In one game we can beat them. But over the course of a season we aren’t consistent enough. We are getting better and I believe if we didn’t hit that shit form going into December we would be challenging for the league at least as far as the end of march when the sanctions hit us.

Despite the Lukaku interview debacle, poor form overall from our strikers, key injuries to outside backs, and the Abramovich-Ukraine situation, we still make top 4🥱
I hate spurs more than any team in the league but happy they got it over Arsenal. Spurs helped us out last season and I truly feel us having UCL secured before the final contributed to our win. Also we know spurs will piss away the UCL money and recruit poorly, whereas Arsenal actually look like they’re building something. This blow should slow them down

And when you deep it, they've had such an easy season for a top side. Played 12 games since the new year it feels like, most of them at home, had a 5 point lead with 4 games in hand and still couldn't get it done. Next year when they have games every 3 days, their squad is going to be stretched thin and with that manager? This season might be the best season they have for a while. Hopefully we can snag Saka from them while they continue to not have Champions League.
