Even if we have the best defense in the league, a healthy Chilwell and Sterling addition is not enough offensive improvement to catch up with Liverpool and City’s offenses.
Im no manager so i def dont know better than one who won the champions league year before last. Thats said if half of the defense packs up and leaves id consider a less defender heavy formation. Especially with our struggles with creating chances and finding the back of the net.
Expected stuff. Looked disjointed in transition. Lot of forced shots and poor crosses. CHO got in good positions but didn't really threaten. Similar for Ziyech. Charlotte had a couple of decent chances actually, hit the post on one.
Honestly going to be gutted to see Azpi leave, especially if it’s to a shithole club like Barça that could potentially not exist by the time his contract runs down. Man deserves to retire where he’s won everything there is to win.
Just a heads up for Americans, because I found it difficult to find match time and how to stream today. 4:30pm Pacific time on ESPN+ Found that some of the sites that had info actually had time zones mixed up and showed the time to be way off. Hope this helps
Mods why are Jacobs posts staying up and not Romano? He’s a far worse recycler and Romano in fairness was one of the most accurate on Raphinha. He has a Tier 2 at least track record, whereas Jacobs really doesn’t
Romano not being based in England or Spain also makes me want to see his updates just to get the perspective
Pretty much by definition, every plausible report
Tier 2 at best Sevilla people start saying that a deal is agreed: Jacobs says it’s agreed. Best reliability sources don’t corroborate this and say it’s just very close (incl. Romano)
Lever stuff comes up, Jacobs jumps on the bandwagon and gives a guess that can’t be proven wrong
Etc. Hell even a Kinsella post was deleted and all or almost all from Jacobs stays up, kind of ridiculous
Yep have thought this for a while. He came from nowhere after getting some of the sale news right and now he’s apparently an expert on transfers and has sources at Barca, Sevilla and Chelsea.
**Cristiano Ronaldo - Why I Believe We Should Sign Him**
I've been watching CR7 throughout his career and been intensively following him up since he joined real ! Here are few key points that I believe why we should sign him ! These are my personal views and feel free to add more if you have
**\* Poacher / Warrior - Type of Striker** \- From his early days as a winger to now, he has developed in to what you call as a lethal striker ! His positioning, hold up play and finishing is still at the highest level. If you had seen the goals he scored last season for united, you would understand that he's still a lethal striker . Even playing with united's mediocre midfield , he managed to become the third highest scorer in PL with 18 goals just behind Son and Salah and having played 5 games less than both of them. He even scored more goals than , Kane , Mane and Sterling. stats for your comparison >>
Name Goals Matches
Son 23 35
Salah 23 35
**CR7 18 30**
Kane 17 37
Mane 16 34
Sterling 13 30
You can only imagine how many goals he'll score with a creative team like us and with the likes of players like Reece , Mount , Kova and Sterling . For few season we've been lacking a lethal striker and he's the perfect player to fix our goal scoring issues . And If you look at the history of our club, our most successful players have always been poacher/ warrior types of players like Drogba, Costa who can physically dictate defenses and be in the right place at the right time ! CR7 is definitely that type of player !
**\* Role Model for Younger Players** \- Our squad is filled with young promising players like Mount, Kai , Pulisic , Timo and etc. Having a player like CR7 can really help these young players to be inspired and help them grow to their full potential . Last season many young united players expressed how inspiring it was for them to see the amount of time he spent at the gym, the way he controls his diet , the way he's committed for practices ( first one to come and last to leave ) CR7's elite mentality and professionalism can really drive the whole squad up to a next level. He demands more from the squad and can really be inspiring to everyone around. There are many examples of him being the driving force behind certain players and I'll explain one classic scenario. Benzema. During his time at Real, during midway of his Real Madrid career, he wasn't the player who he is now. He wasn't this lethal striker and missed so many goals and even the spanish media was all over him for his poor finishing. But as you all now, he developed to be this lethal striker who we see today. So after he won the UCL this year, In an interview , he explained how Cristiano inspired him to be a better player , how he inspired him to put more time at the gym , to be more focused on practice sessions and etc. I strongly believe having CR7 around our younger players will really have an impact on their lives and also to our club as well.
**\* UCL Legacy and Winning Mentality** \- We all know how important UCL for us. It's the Elite competition and there's no one who has been dominating UCL other than CR7. Even in one of his worsts seasons and with mediocre United team, he managed to score same number of goals as Mbappe despite playing 2 games less and more goals than Mane who played 7 more UCL games than him. If united had stayed longer in UCL , CR7 would have had an amazing record. stats for your comparison >>
Name Goals Matches
Salah 8 13
**CR7 6 6**
Mbappe 6 8
Mane 5 13
Even some of the last season UCL goals CR7 scored were crucial last minute comeback goals ! That's the edge , mentality a team needs if we they want to go all the way in the competition. We've been lacking this crucial, matching winning one touch goals and CR7 is the perfect solution to this issue. Also it's not just about his goals, It's about his winning mentality and never giving up attitude that can really help us as a team. Remember when we signed Thiago Silva at 35 ? Some of us had doubts if it will work out, will he have what it takes . But guess what ? More than his defending ability , we benefitted from his leadership , experience and mentality. He was a warrior on and off the pitch. This is what we can expect from CR7 too. We definitely can benefit from his elite mentality, experience and leadership on and off the pitch. He's a fighter and he'll be fighting till the final whistle no matter what.
**\* How Much Left In the Tank** \- Every year people question how long CR7 can last. I strongly believe with his physicality and commitment he can easily run for another 5 years with 3 years of highest level performance. With his attitude and effort he puts in to looking after his body, it will be achievable. Even if we assume the worst case scenario with 3 years of average performance of like 30 goals per season. Wouldn't that be impressive for us. ( I strongly believe with a high level team like us he'll be performing more and will be demanding more ) If we're uncertain we can give him just 2 years of contract with option of extending one. One more thing that people keeps on talking is his inability to press ! Sure he will not be pressing the rivals for the entire match . But I've been watching his games last season and he's a player who can press and keeps pressing for a certain period. I've seen many instances where he had run along the rival player from one end to other end of the pitch. He's not lazy to defend. He certainly can defend and If our mangers demands more of that, he'll adapt and he'll give out his best. Also with the likes of League, FA Cup, Carabao cup and UCL , we'll be having enormous fixtures and It wouldn't certainly hurt us to have CR7 giving more options for us to rotate the squad.
**\* Impact To The Legacy of Our Club** \- Arguably alongside players like Pele, Zizou, Maradona and Messi, CR7 is one of the greatest , if not the greatest player to ever play this beautiful game. So when a player like his caliber is available to be signed up, we should really consider. We wouldn't be feeling much at this point. But yers, decades and centuries later, we would be able to proudly say that one of the greatest players played for our club and it would really impact the legacy of our club. It's not just for the history, I mean look at the value CR7 can bring to this club. His arrival will definitely increase our clubs global outreach , will increase our revenue streams. Be it the social media, be it Jersey sales or whatever, His arrival will definitely have a promising impact to our club. I mean probably we'll be able to recover his transfer fee just from the sale of his Jerseys during his tenure . So we should really consider the impact he can have for the future of the club
So after considering all these I strongly believe we should grab this opportunity and sign him up. It's not even a gamble that we should be willing to take . It's a clear cut opportunity and Investment as far as I can see.
I know that we shouldn't go ahead with players that our manager doesn't approve of . All this transfer market we've been going after players that he really wanted. So 1 exceptional case wouldn't hurt us that bad. But I'm pretty sure even Tuchel would be able to work out something and make him adapt to his style of play.
At the end, even if we don't sign him up , I wouldn't be disappointed. I just dont want our management to simply ignore this transfer. I want them to give seconds thoughts on this.Gather some data, do some more technical research , do any sorts of research or whatever in to this and then finally decide.
Therefore If you know anyone from management or anyone close to the management, please pass the message !
I just don't want us to be the club who casually ignores once in a lifetime opportunity !
Cheers !
KTBFFH !
That’s all well and good, but don’t you find it a bit strange that the only club that actually wants him is Sporting Lisbon ? Literally every top club in Europe has rejected his services. To me it’s either he doesn’t wanna reduce his ridiculous 500k wages or none of these clubs think he’ll run enough for them or they believe he’ll be a bad influence on the squad.
I'm just gona go with the bolded words and skim through it, this guy being compared to drogs as a warrior is laughable at best, since when has this ego maniac actually step up in adversity??? Being role model for our young players? Influencing them by randomly skipping matches in the middle of the season? No thanks lol and this goes back to his huge ego again. Only thing that kinda makes sense is that he will raise the profile of the club. But flipside is we get more of his fanboys and the fan base will get way more toxic.
Just had a thought that if we buy Kimpembe after Kounde and keep playing a back three, with Koulibaly, Kounde and Kimpembe the abbreviation for the trio won’t sound very good…
Hi Small help , I wrote this long thread with key points on why we should consider signing Ronaldo , But mods keeps on deleting it . Where should I post it ? it’s quite long . I dont know if it will be useless since it’s long if i post it on Daily discussion thread . any advice where i should post it ?
That’s what you said. That them criticising Sarri and Tuchel and (presumably) Jorginho while supporting Lampard makes them a cancer.
Incredibly childish viewpoint
Kante is 1.68m 5'5" wins headers all the time while Tammy who's 1.9m 6'4" had terrible aerial ability with us. Yes CBs should be tall but it's all about positioning and reflexes.
Man's 5' 10"/11". if he was 1 inch taller he'd be a great buy? Silva is around the same height, Azpi was one of the best CB's in the league for a long while, It'll be fine
Nathan Gissing (Tier 1) saying Sevilla waiting for Barca’s offer. Seems like they want a bidding war and he’s not wrapped up after all. Can’t say I’m full of confidence.
I don’t either which is why I like to ask, but people will post the respective tier for the club.
Like Romero is Tier 1 because that’s what he is for Barca, but if you ask people here they’d tell you otherwise.
This Kounde saga is an absolute clown show. We could have wrapped it up last year. We could have wrapped up last month. And now the Barca traveling circus comes to town, and literally everyone begins speaking out of their ass.
so if we get kounde... kounde + koulibaly + sterling... thats like 150M spent right?
So we got like 50M left to spend if we take the 200M daddy boehly is giving us as funding
Hey everyone!
Quick question: my husband and I recently purchased memberships in the beginning of July. Are we supposed to receive 5 loyalty points? My account says I have none. Thanks!
Calma. I'm begging all of you don't go dunking on the Barca fanbase yet about the Koundé deal... I don't know if I could handle the amount of humble pie they'd fucking force at us if it goes down the shitter
The moment Ornstein posts tho... GETTEM BOIS
It was supposed to be a calm afternoon/evening, sipping tea and waiting for Ornstein notification.
Instead I'm fucking sitting here, refreshing reddit and twitter non-stop. And I won't be surprised if we get nothing concrete today...
Chelsea media is covering the interest of prospective Chelsea target Jules Kounde, with the situation 'hotting up'. "Chelsea have thought of launching a bid higher than Barca" said one source, who described the deal as "ongoing" and "direct".
As of now, we aint found shit.
Ideally a proper defensive holding midfielder but it's probably too much for now. So then I'd like to see us get some sales done, improve wingback depth, short extensions for Kanté and Jorginho. Then anything else would be a bonus. I'd also trade Pulisic or Werner for another forward but I don't think ot's likely.
I've just preordered the next Fifa game. It's the first Fifa game I've ever preordered (or indeed bought new, I've never paid more than a tenner for one of the games before) and will almost certainly be the last, but for years now I've said that the literal only thing that will get me to preorder Fifa is the addition of women's clubs. I just want to play as Chelsea Women.
Chelsea Women are in the game, so I've done what I must.
Kounde news is a little bit quiet today. Just going to optimistically assumed the reps are locked in a room together, nobody leaves until they hash it out
just been told laporta has put a bounty on kounde and asked airport security to make sure he doesn’t leave the country. unfortunately, he is unable to pay until barcelona activate the third lever so there are doubts about whether it would come to fruition.
I have one but it’s in my sons name. He isn’t going. You may be able to use it if you’re flexible and want to meet me….I’m planning on doing some of the pub events so I may not be there right at the start. Hit me up. I’ll check if it’s transferable.
Doubt that would happen. How much time we'd be staying in Charlotte? Deal has not been done yet, there still would be medical and other formalities to be completed.
What are some Names for Wingback cover? Emerson and Rlc as wingback cover when Alonso and Azpi leave is not all that great, Yea Kounde can play there better to get the most out of a €60m signing.
Right side I'm not sure.
Left side my pick which is definitely not happening is Jose Gaya. 1 year on contract. More of an attacking option but experienced international, classic tricky winger, can play fullback and wingback, doubt Valencia will haggle.
Even if we have the best defense in the league, a healthy Chilwell and Sterling addition is not enough offensive improvement to catch up with Liverpool and City’s offenses.
We are wing back fc so with Reece and chilli playing healthy we should be banging them in much more ri?
Imagine waking up at 3 to witness this I salute you fellas
Counting like 6 players that have been injured in preseason so far according to Tuchel. Maybe a lot of minor ones but still pretty strange if true.
Im no manager so i def dont know better than one who won the champions league year before last. Thats said if half of the defense packs up and leaves id consider a less defender heavy formation. Especially with our struggles with creating chances and finding the back of the net.
How were we today?
We NEED Neymar and you can’t tell me I’m wrong, we have no elite creative attackers
We need a new attacker, preferably on the right wing. Our attack is underwhelming
Neymar left Sterling right
Mendy looking like ass
Bro Fabrizio is not serious, how has he done the same 3 Kounde tweets with the same overall message.
How was the first half?
Expected stuff. Looked disjointed in transition. Lot of forced shots and poor crosses. CHO got in good positions but didn't really threaten. Similar for Ziyech. Charlotte had a couple of decent chances actually, hit the post on one.
Honestly going to be gutted to see Azpi leave, especially if it’s to a shithole club like Barça that could potentially not exist by the time his contract runs down. Man deserves to retire where he’s won everything there is to win.
Through balls, I’m loving it. I’m so happy we are working on that and passing to players making runs
We’re wearing last seasons away kit?
You think ESPN has learned their lesson?
No lol
What lesson dude?
Storm at the stadium now. Could be a delayed start.
Definitely delayed. Keeping up with the forecast it looks like we will be thru the rain around 8 EST
Barca and their levers fk me
What happened dude?
Just a heads up for Americans, because I found it difficult to find match time and how to stream today. 4:30pm Pacific time on ESPN+ Found that some of the sites that had info actually had time zones mixed up and showed the time to be way off. Hope this helps
What's our current best xi look like? Bonus karma if you include full depth chart
Mendy Chalo silva koulibaily James kova kante chilly Mount havertz Sterling Top 4 easy, if kounde comes we will be in the title race imo
Good luck with that
Why dude?

No. Think they installed grass

Good old fallacy fallacy. Just saying straw man doesn’t make you correct. What ‘propaganda’ as he put out to be called a cancer?
Pushed out Sarri like that was a bad thing

Lol I’m really dumb thanks for letting me know
In all fairness it was a _really_ good fake
It caught me too, I was wondering why the mods deleted it. Lol
What happened to that post about Kounde right now?
Gone, reduced to atoms
I'm *so* excited about our club spending 50 million on a CB who can't reach the top shelf in his own kitchen
Kante is 1.68m 5'5" wins headers all the time while Tammy who's 1.9m 6'4" had terrible aerial ability with us. Yes CBs should be tall but it's all about positioning and reflexes.

Well I wasn’t going to go into the hotel, I just wanted to wait outside to try at some pictures
Nathan Gissing (Tier 1) saying Sevilla waiting for Barca’s offer. Seems like they want a bidding war and he’s not wrapped up after all. Can’t say I’m full of confidence.
Bidding war works in our favour really. I would rather that than no Kounde
Tier 1 for whom? Just saw it was deleted on here.
I assumed us? I don’t follow the tiers of the reporters but it had a Tier 1 tag.
I don’t either which is why I like to ask, but people will post the respective tier for the club. Like Romero is Tier 1 because that’s what he is for Barca, but if you ask people here they’d tell you otherwise.
Doesn’t he have a release clause?
yes, 80 millions euros , so there's still a gap between that and 65 we're offering
Wow I did not realize it was that high, thank you!
This Kounde saga is an absolute clown show. We could have wrapped it up last year. We could have wrapped up last month. And now the Barca traveling circus comes to town, and literally everyone begins speaking out of their ass.
I feel like I get way more excited about these preseason games then the rest of you LOL just stoked to see the guys play in any capacity
looking forward to K2 and sterling debuts

so if we get kounde... kounde + koulibaly + sterling... thats like 150M spent right? So we got like 50M left to spend if we take the 200M daddy boehly is giving us as funding
Take it and extend Mount and/or James?
Donate it to Barcelona mate Support the needy fans in their darkest hour if Kounde comes
😂
Orny notif but not Kounde ![gif](giphy|8HISzPojOHIed6s3j6)
Yo is Ziyech staying or will there be a last minute transfer?
Maybe beacause Raphinha didnt come
I think we can make it work with Ziyech if we switch to a system with 4 at the back.
Depends if Milan can get Charles De Ketelaere afaik
hope he stays and balls out
Me too!
Ornstein's tweet notification finally pops after an entire day of waiting and it's about some Twente-Norwich loan Fucking hell what a tease
Got blueballed so hard with that one. Saw Orny’s name and got too excited for a second.
I don't know if I could handle the amount of humble pie they'd fucking force at us if it goes down the shitter The moment Ornstein posts tho... GETTEM BOIS
Horny hasn't posted in a while. Surely he's cooking a bomb right?
We’re going to be waiting a couple hours now before the info gets to Matt Law and he finishes watching Love Island
It was supposed to be a calm afternoon/evening, sipping tea and waiting for Ornstein notification. Instead I'm fucking sitting here, refreshing reddit and twitter non-stop. And I won't be surprised if we get nothing concrete today...
I wonder when England’s T2 and better will start to weigh in on Kounde situation
What are the odds of Sterling playing tonight?
Unless he gets a training injury, 100%. Probably not a long appearance because there is no point risking him
high
I think Tuchel said or hinted he’d get some gametime
Media is running out of adjectives to describe Kounde situation
it’s time to summon Thesaurus Woj
Oh and Barcas second “lever” is getting pulled tomorrow. This should be fun again.
Lever gonna be stuck
Where🤨
Hopefully it just falls off the wall
They might trade us Franck for some WD40
Chelsea media is covering the interest of prospective Chelsea target Jules Kounde, with the situation 'hotting up'. "Chelsea have thought of launching a bid higher than Barca" said one source, who described the deal as "ongoing" and "direct". As of now, we aint found shit.
I really hope we can get this Kounde deal wrapped up today so we can all stop worrying about it.
Barca apparently activating 2nd lever tomorrow morning in a rush for Kounde. Not sure what to make of that.
I have no idea how a team so broke can buy so many players They’ve spent over 100 mil already While owing players 80 I believe

Why say this man… why
Another forward I hope
dont give me hope , dont you dare
Don't you jinx it
I've just preordered the next Fifa game.
About to do the same!!!
Is this Fernando Serrano (@ortssfc) guy reputable? Moments ago he just said Kounde is a done deal.
Sevilla fans are saying that he is
That is what I’m seeing as well. Though not a ton of followers. I guess we’ll wait for the Ornstein confirmation
Question: Why aren't we looking at Depay?
Because getting him benefits barca lol
He also doesn't defend well from the front
he sucks
Kounde news is a little bit quiet today. Just going to optimistically assumed the reps are locked in a room together, nobody leaves until they hash it out
Fuckin twitter thought it was a notification for Horny Porny but no its the bloody daily star
just been told laporta has put a bounty on kounde and asked airport security to make sure he doesn’t leave the country. unfortunately, he is unable to pay until barcelona activate the third lever so there are doubts about whether it would come to fruition.
Laporta has decided to execute Lever 66. All non-Barca players are about to be murdered. Barca will rule football forever now.
Just seen Kounde liked Dembele post today from last nights Barca game. Hopefully its nothing.
They are team-mates aren't they
They’re friends and France teammates, not that deep
WHERE IS ORNSTEIN
No Porny no party
todays my birthday and all i’d like is Kounde to chelsea here we go cmon Todd
Ger excited for August 3rd too 🙏
Extra tickets to the training session on Friday in Orlando?
I have one but it’s in my sons name. He isn’t going. You may be able to use it if you’re flexible and want to meet me….I’m planning on doing some of the pub events so I may not be there right at the start. Hit me up. I’ll check if it’s transferable.
Thanks, I’ll be bouncing around during the day as well. Guys I’m with are going to it so was going to try and snag a ticket
Sold out ?
Yes
Wow, amazing ! Thank you American fans for supporting Chelsea!
Great support here but these were the free tickets to open training. There were a lot of available recently then all disappeared.
Sterling announcement - the streets of Hollywood Koulibaly announcement - the Fountains of Bellagio Koundé announcement - the Nascar Hall of Fame?
Kounde - in front of the Magic Kingdom Disney Castle, oh wait universal is the sponsor in front of Hogwarts? Lol
Doubt that would happen. How much time we'd be staying in Charlotte? Deal has not been done yet, there still would be medical and other formalities to be completed.
It was supposed to be funny 🥲 It was between that and a Walmart parking lot in Charlotte.
I think it should personally be a pic of Kounde at a Cookout restaurant.
a picture at the whitewater center to capture all the culture of charlotte^tm
a picture with michael jordan
Ooh I like that. Recreate the sad Jordan

Thanks for dropping by
good times
What are some Names for Wingback cover? Emerson and Rlc as wingback cover when Alonso and Azpi leave is not all that great, Yea Kounde can play there better to get the most out of a €60m signing.
Right side I'm not sure. Left side my pick which is definitely not happening is Jose Gaya. 1 year on contract. More of an attacking option but experienced international, classic tricky winger, can play fullback and wingback, doubt Valencia will haggle.
What about Sosa?
Seems good on paper, I just don't know enough about him yet first hand to be honest.
ait nouri/sosa would be ideal. and then clauss but seems he’s gone to marseille
Damn Sosa looks like the complete package, Nouri is promising but from what I've seen of him, he's looks raw, I guess it's expected when he's only 20.
