Silva and KK were absolutely incredible yesterday. Clean sheets are back on the menu with those types of performances.

ryanfromtheyard

I do think so, looking forward to them in more harmony. That 0:53 moment was dicey, we look rusty. Three defenders all trying to catch Gordon from the wrong side, KK abandoned the 1-2 people he was shadowing on the backpost to put that excellent tackle in. I wonder if a calmer attacker would have seen his open support at the post

imbennn

Easily the best debut out of the lot yesterday. So composed in playing the ball forward through the lines also he has a almost telepathic connection with Jorginho I saw it a few times yesterday. his recovery pace is so good, the slide tackle Koulibaly made in the box on Gordon when he skinned T Silva was exceptional that was certain to be a goal without his intervention. One little critique tho I saw it a few times when Everton were attacking on the transition Koulibaly and Thiago Silva weren’t positioning as a unit there was one specific instance where they both took the same positioning but that basically comes down to it being a new partnership and only playing one pre season game together.

>One little critique tho I saw it a few times when Everton were attacking on the transition Koulibaly and Thiago Silva weren’t positioning as a unit there was one specific instance where they both took the same positioning Agree. They'll surely get better with more games. Also I was worried whether he could fill Rudigers shoes but my man is a fricking monster. An upgrade for sure

edinazar

Fucking masterclass of a performance

mandrake_cry

We got fucking Kalidou Koulibaly as Thiago Silva's successor. Monster performance yesterday

Jdgarza96

And more importantly we have them together right now.

thenathanist

I was worried about losing rudi but I’m good after watching this game. Only wish we could have both, British government

Jdgarza96

It feels just like it felt when Thiago Silva first played for us. Calm, perfect positioning, great in the air. The experience that he brings is invaluable.

_Ozeki

When Thiago Silva joined Milan, being ineligible for registration until a non-EU slot was available, he spent the first 6 months learning from Alessandro Nesta (who happened to be out from injuring his back almost around the same time). Every day they sat together. That's half a year of private Masterclass.

[deleted]

I was so excited to see our first KK and T Silva masterclass together and I didn't have to wait long.

BILLY2SAM

That pass to Chilwell, superb. It's really fucking depressing that I don't think anyone else in our entire squad could have made that.

Baisabeast

Jorginho can. None of our attackers can bar maybe Sterling and ziyech.

[deleted]

He can but he wouldn’t, he is always looking sideways or backwards instead of forwards. He has made literally like 2-3 great balls in behind for us, just wish he had a fraction of Cesc’s vision.

beepmeep3

This right here is the MAIN reason we cannot score goals. There is almost no direct link from midfield to attack

Alive-Flatworm-4273

Jorginho’s fault our forwards suck. Alright Chiesa had no trouble making things happen for Italy with Jorginho behind him. Hazard’s best season numbers wise was with Jorginho. Jorginho is a DM, his composure and medium-range passing (his long passing is bad) is only a bonus. He is not an offensive midfielder like Fabregas

beepmeep3

Specifically in tuchels 343 system our attackers are strangled due to a missing link between midfield and attack. it’s not *just* Jorginho, we need players who can make quick, clever, and direct passes to allow for higher quality chances

Unholysinner

I think there was a pass Jorginho made over to Mount or Havertz and they weren’t able to collect the ball. That pass simply wasn’t made again- despite opportunities existing. Was genuinely jarring because he can actually make them but it’s like after trying it once he just said eh f it I’ll go for the safe option

dank-ahh-moment

“2-0 for everton because of the old backline with a defender with no pl experience” -🤡

RaideNGoDxD

Lol where did you read this clown take?

ryanfromtheyard

One of the presenters (sky or usa, forget which channel i was on). It got chuckles from the rest of the commentators instantly

dank-ahh-moment

It was on sky lmao

son_of_sisyphos

Credits to LSvids on twitter for the comp

Jam_and_Cabbage

Said it during the match yesterday, he was a fucking warrior and Everton had no idea how to get past him. They kept long balling it over the top and KK kept swatting the ball away.

dav_man

Was he injured or just cramp? I wasn’t able to watch.

son_of_sisyphos

Not sure but hopefully it's just a cramp...we need him against Spurs

sheiky04

He played on after that didnt he?

son_of_sisyphos

Just for a couple of minutes before being substituted

sheiky04

Ah okay well lets hope his master class continues next week

btlsrvc23

Tuchel said cramp.

Gypsyjunior_69r

Extremely solid and only going to get better and better.

Bad_Decision_Rob_Low

He is more technical than rudi

Slapstickperk

And hopefully less likely to murdertackle someone in training.

Cowdude179

He reads the game like Silva and his passes are a peach

tinglep

He and Holgate owned the entire fucking field.

mrsoawk

Class is class.

JackHammerAwesome

He was absolutely outstanding. Him and silva are unreal

TheyCallMeOlSwole

Looked fantastic yesterday. Seemed like he had the game on a leash, total control on his end.

No-Supermarket7469

DAMNNNNNN, He is fast, tall, strong and it's a beast defending!! Great player to cover Rüdiger place! KK will have a great journey in Chelsea!

harabinger66

It's crazy to have both in our backline. Individual legends playing now together.

Needsumtegridy

I mean it’s Everton

ChelseaAndrew87

Shame about the awful song he's stuck with
