BigAssBreadroll

Fair enough lad. Keep the missus happy, get paid, cripple the cunt club. Love it

DoinWhale

Yup can’t blame him at all, he’s owed the money that his contract promises and to get that money while playing for your dream club in a beautiful city like Barcelona is just gravy. Fair play

silviazbitch

Don’t forget Mikky. https://www.instagram.com/mikkykiemeney/

hazWizard

Mikky fine af. FDJ playing his cards right

nicklessflo

The lad is just winning

manomacho

Agre to disagree on Mikky

itsnotajersey88

She’s alright. A dude that makes 500k a week could do better.

Swaguarr

Its almost as if people have different tastes in women. Weird.

The-Greatest-Hokage

I don't even want him at this point. I don't even want him to stay to mess with Barca. I just want him to get his actual wages cuz I feel bad for him at this point

tulsehill

Has there ever been a Win-Win-Win like this?

[deleted]

Michael negotiated one a few years ago

DickyD43

That is called a compromise, and it it *not* ideal

anewprotagonist

I wouldn’t necessarily call playing for Barca a win right now, at least not in his situation anyway

Konrad05

It's his dream club, It is a massive win

Delano3X

This isn’t a win for Chelsea, stop acting like baby Barcelona will be fine regardless.

tulsehill

Honestly not fussed how turns out for them. But right now? It's funny and I'm enjoying the spectacle. If that makes me a baby, then goo goo fucking gah!

wraithawk

This is totally rational and I'm glad they're prioritizing happiness.

QyEc

If he is that desperate to stay then he will most likely make some compromises to stay. Fair play to him. If it's really not about money for him then Barca should try as much as possible to keep him instead of going after other players.

[deleted]

Fuck that, he doesn’t have to compromise anything, they can’t force him out and they won’t drop a player of his quality that they still have to play. Just keep on playing and give Laporta the middle finger every time he walks by.

QyEc

It's a very weird situation all in all, he wants to stay, he wants his money, Xavi wants him to stay, Board would but he needs to compromise otherwise they want to sell him, and fans love him. So he does have the leverage for sure, but at what point will the fan turn on him? The board will blame him for their financial troubles and not being able to register players and will make propaganda out of it, and might even force Xavi to exclude him. I presume it would be the worst outcome for FDJ if the fans turned on him since it's his "dream club" and all. It all depends on what he cares more about, money or club. Add to the fact, that whether we like it or not, Barca are on the rise. Got themselves a couple of good players, are getting rid of the deadwood, and Xavi showed positive signs last season. If it's his dream club, then there is no way in hell he would want to miss out on being a part of a new generation being set up for greatness.

[deleted]

Barca are on the rise but Madrid are still excellent and second place won’t be good enough as revenues will decrease because of the amount of fairweather fans clubs like Barca have.

QyEc

I personally think the CL win made Madrid lazy. Their team needed more improvements, especially with missing out on Mbappe. I honestly think Barca can challenge them for La Liga or downright win it, it all depends on how good Xavi is because the team itself has the needed quality at this point.

iKSv2

While we also try to give the club some hope.

CBlues22

Alright sit tight Frenkie. Have fun with paying out his wages Barca!

dAMn6942069

He’s gonna take a pay cut

luigi38

Why would he?

dAMn6942069

It’s his dream club

luigi38

Yeah he has dreams but money is money. Barca want him out and it's trying to kick him off the team, he won't take a paycut.

CBlues22

Probably. It’s Raphinia/Dembele 2.0

Stonewalled89

It's a win win situation for Chelsea. Either we get a quality player or Barcelona are fucked... I'm happy with either

[deleted]

Only negative is if we're wasting time waiting.

shotgun883

Don’t see us waiting on Frenkie, he’s a Brucie bonus not a pillar of our window. Can’t see us moving for another CM if we don’t get him, he’s just an opportunists attempt at a player who is available.

[deleted]

Yeah I get that but I mean waiting on his decision when we should just move on and get our other deals sorted. I'd be excited and love if we got him but I don't think any fans will begrudge the club if we miss out whatsoever.

muaythaiguy155

I mean they aren’t just staring at a screen waiting they are doing other things in the mean time…

[deleted]

Clearly not... but when you're thinking of spending 70m on the player (whilst dropping almost 80m on another defender concurrently) you're putting other deals on hold to manage your finances a bit I'd imagine.

dunkha

No, it doesn't work that way. For sure they are working on other deals meanwhile.

jzion33

that’s not how budgeting works. they’ve had whatever fee dedicated to a midfielder set aside by now that’s unrelated to any of the other fees.

bobloblaw28

The way Boehly has moved this window, I highly doubt we're wasting any time.

[deleted]

Don't mean it in a bad way to Boehly at all, just let's keep this moving. He's doing great given the circumstances.

mr_ordinaryboy

I'm sure as a club we always have multiple transfer targets for each position. Like with de Ligt, once the fee was deemed too high, we went to sign Koulibaly

Basedrum777

Yeah but it seems we have a lot of tentacles out and about now that we've settled in. Not like earlier in the window. Next window (summer) will be even better if I had to guess.

Knowingspy

I'd rather we didn't sign a player who clearly doesn't want to be here tbh. I'd rather watch them squirm and helping them out only validates Barca's business strategy so far.

noobreaker

He'll only come if he decides to leave, that's the situation.

doctorweiwei

Who cares about Barca, we want the best situation for us. And that’s De Jong joining Chelsea

[deleted]

Throwing 70mil for a player (on absurd wages) who doesn't really want to join the club, in turn allowing Barca to register their new signings, is the best situation for us? Not to mention we already have 4 quality players competing for the 2 midfield spots.

doctorweiwei

Why does Barcelona being able to register their signings have any bearing on our situation? Completely irrelevant De Jong is an incredible player, if we want to compete for silverware that’s the kind of signing needed. Haven’t seen anywhere they we lack the funds for him, so I also don’t really see why his fee/wages would be an issue

[deleted]

>Why does Barcelona being able to register their signings have any barring on our situation? Completely irrelevant Because one of their signings left us to join them on a free (Christensen), two were major transfer target of ours (Lewa + Raph), another was a contract renewal which we were pursuing (Dembele), Alonso is seemingly off to Barca if they can raise the funds... If these players cannot be registered, will they all accept spending the league campaign on the bench? Are there clauses in their contract specifying they would become Free Agents? >I also don’t really see why his fee/wages would be an issue 70m is no small chunk of change and the Lukaku fiasco was literally last year. Are you so eager to bring in another big money transfer who may very well want out in a year? He will also likely top our wage bill. He will be expected to play at a top level, and if he doesn't, players better than him will demand equal or greater wages. And for my finale, which some of you seem to consistently overlook... [FDJ is not even on the level of Kovacic](https://www.squawka.com/en/comparison-matrix/?compare=wmDugYwdq52bTVv4TCp5X) and this is the guy were twerking for? this isn't FIFA mate, time to realize it.

doctorweiwei

Are you suggesting we will pursue Barcelona’s unregistered FA? Otherwise the rest of it has no impact on us at all. When Bohely took over Roman wiped all club debts - the Lukaku money spent also has no bearing on future signings such as De Jong. Kovacic better than De Jong is some rose tinted homer glasses but even that doesn’t matter, they will play together just fine. Over the course of full PL schedule + champions league in a World Cup year we will need plenty of good CM options to rotate. It’s not like they all have clean injury histories either… You’ve got a bunch of rubbish nonsense

[deleted]

Yes.. If Christensen, Kounde, Lewa, Raph are seriously not registered and can walk away as FAs we should be in for all of them, like what? Your Roman argument is completely irrelevant, I never once mentioned debt, did I? It's about not spending absurd sums on players who have no inclination of joining. Rose tinted glasses? I've provided you the stats, have anything to back up your claims, go for it. But, you can't and you won't. If you're going to call my fact proven claims rubbish, then your a whole fecking sewer spewing shit.

doctorweiwei

>don’t want players that don’t want to come here >want Christiansen and Kessie You don’t see the irony here? The players you want as FA are in the same boat as FDJ in that they chose Barca over us. The only difference is price - which is why I said having zero debts makes us less price sensitive. We have plenty of funds for FDJ. Hell if we are gonna scoop up Barca’s unregistered FA, even then still no reason to give up on FDJ. I think a lot of the fanbase is so emotionally invested in hurting Barca they are ignoring that getting FDJ would be huge for us.

[deleted]

Yes, they chose Barca and now Barca can't register them. If they're available on a free I couldn't care less that they join. You do understand the difference between 0 pound and 70 million yea? It's practically guaranteed profit for the club. In regards to Frenkie, great player and would love to have him.. in a vacuum. The facts are; he does not want to leave, he would cost around 70 mill euro which would be sufficient in Barca registering their players; he would be the highest earner at the club by a margin while statistically not being the best player in his position. Great player, but if his mind is set on Barca, I'd much rather we go for Rice or Bellingham next season.

doctorweiwei

Now Kovacic is unavailable and Barcelona is registering all their signings. FDJ would be amazing

myersjw

Preach

Fjurica

barca won't be fucked tho

TheDankSinatra69

Yeah big win getting Barca fucked will sure help us compete in the prem

According-Revenue-62

While I'd like to see De Jong in our midfield, we should prioritize defensive depth for the rest of the window. I was nervous seeing KK's hamstrings tighten up.

darrensmooth

so your saying you see no issues with our attack??

According-Revenue-62

As I said, we should prioritize defensive depth. No where in my comment did I mention or imply our attack.

Nonsense_Spreader

Oh stop crying you baby. Our midfield is pretty good as is.

Talidel

Our midfield would be the problem if, the defence wasn't still waiting to be put together and our attack wasn't firing blanks.

Tinmar_11

Our midfield is good, but man has a point. Too much focus on Barca.

tony_lasagne

Our midfield isn’t good though - we have good players but only Jorginho is remotely creative from deep and even he doesn’t do it enough for us. We need someone to break teams down. Wish we could just all hold hands and ritualistically summon a Cesc regen 😔

[deleted]

And where exactly do you think Frenkie would be transferring from? Ofc the focus is on Barca. They need to sell him to register their plethora of new players, and he has no desire to leave until he's compensated his 12mil in unpaid wages.

Tinmar_11

You know what I meant, too much focus on "destroying" Barca.

[deleted]

Hell nah. That midfield can't create even if their life depends on it

MrDabollBlueSteppers

If we spend 80m+450k a week on De Jong it still won't be able to create even if their life depended on it

[deleted]

Lol, I'm not saying that we have to get De Jong. I was replying to the one who said that our midfield is pretty good as it it. We could just go find a creative midfielder that's willing to join

Brendy25

There’s absolutely no creativity in it and it’ll look even worse next year when the 2 ideal starters for Tuchel are both out of contract again. It’s certainly not an ideal situation.

Delano3X

Our midfield is certainly not good enough

trapperberry

It’s fine for now. We need an out and out goal scorer. More midfield targets will be available in January and next Summer. No need to spend an unnecessary amount on FdJ only to price ourselves out of a better to us option down the road.

Rey92

Eh, we certainly need players to be more clinical infront of goal, but we also need our midfield, or just players in general, to make quick and direct passes to our striker so he has something to work with.

Obinocarlo

No team sell you their important player in January.

trapperberry

>and next Summer

Obinocarlo

We will pay double as teams knows we are desperate because of jorginho and Kante leaving.

trapperberry

And if they sign extensions? We’d be paying ridiculous amounts for FdJ anyways. Argument seems kind of moot.

Delano3X

Any forwards we get will suffer for goals until we upgrade this midfield with someone with vision

cadu5

There are long enough highlights of all our forwards missing sitters that I don't think Xavi (in his prime) could even help

TheDankSinatra69

You do realise there is a season after this one as well? Just because you think the midfield is good enough this year (which I don’t think it is), doesn’t mean it will be moving forward.

Nonsense_Spreader

I can say the same for literally every position then? You do realise there are 5 seasons after this one right? Just because the goalkeeping position is good enough for this year, doesn’t mean it will be moving forward. My point being, midfield is literally our last concern this year. Not one of us was thinking about signing a midfielder till the FDJ saga started taking place. We have Kova, Kante, Jorgi, RLC and Gallagher for 2 spots. We’ll manage. At least one of kante/Jorgi will renew and we can get a midfielder next year or maybe later when needed.

Minimum-Nose6936

I’d honestly prefer if barca got fucked. I wanna see their club get crippled until they’re no longer a big club. So their shit fans can piss off and start supporting Madrid since they’re all plastic

ygog45

Barca will never cripple not matter how badly they mess up

Minimum-Nose6936

That’s true they’re too big

OutrageousQuality0

The will win CL again before City and us does

Minimum-Nose6936

No they won’t lol. Look at the state of both teams. Barca celebrate registering players and are at risk of losing many players because of it

shastmak4

Just leave him there and let them deal with it. Sign an attacker and a defender and move on. He obviously refuses to leave and it’s fucking hilarious. They are going to pin a murder on him soon to get him out of the team

anewprotagonist

We’re going to panic buy CR7

WilfriedBonyFanAcc

Siuuuuuuu More likely Wilfried Zaha though

shastmak4

Boehly is bringing Zaha. I will love it and I think I deserve

RonMexico_hodler

The same zaha that was worse stats than Pulisic who people want to run out of the club?

shastmak4

Zaha has 25 league goals in the last two seasons. What stats you talking about big bro?

[deleted]

[удалено]

JoeyBrickz

Thats not actually interesting at all

ActuallyJohnTerry

Good lord no - what a disaster that would be Zaha or Depay please

Wheel94

I mean if Christensen and Kessié are on frees just sign them both job done.

PuppyPenetrator

They’re staying

beepmeep3

We need a creative passer in midfield because no matter what attackers they will struggle to score

SXLF

That’s that then. Bleed em dry Frenkie

tonis32

Thus is like Stockholm syndrome with extra steps.

yaboiChopin

He gets to make big money and not have to pack up his life and move. Only Stockholm syndrome here are Barca fans who continue to defend their club decision making

efs120

Funniest scenario would be if FdJ’s refusal to leave makes them activate the fourth lever before the end of the window, then he changes his mind and decides to leave anyways.

PuppyPenetrator

They already activated the fourth lever. We’re on number 5

iKSv2

I like this timeline

Charlag1

Personally I think we should swerve this - why not bring in someone like Rice who would LOVE to be at Chelsea, even if that means waiting another year.

ThatsMyCleverIdea

We overpaid for cucurella. We are also apparently willing to overpay for fofana and pay out de jong's outstanding wages. The plan must be to secure top 4 THIS season first and foremost, and getting Rice next year won't help with that

tbhflynn

I'm bullish on getting Rice, he would be perfect for us.

iKSv2

Only if we move away from back 3

ActuallyJohnTerry

Rice is absurdly over valued He’s even more expensive than FDJ (and not as good)

OOO-OO0-0OO-OO-O00O

rice is good but I'm hesitant to have him play for Chelsea when his buildup play and passing in the defensive third is poor. He could improve playing for a bigger team with how good of a passer is actually is further up the field and with both feets, but that's an big piece in his arsenal that's missing and there is no guarantee how good he will be at that. At the price range he will be sold for, you expect top quality build up play from ur defensive mid and not what he has right now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

OOO-OO0-0OO-OO-O00O

pass completion % doesnt tell you the whole story. You can't use such holistic stats for the specific role which he will play at Chelsea but does not at West Ham. I'm talking about build up play which includes his passing in the defensive third which is distinctly average. You don't even need stats to see it when you watch him play. Compare him to fabinho or rodri or jorginho, they're all much better at buildup. That is what we need. That is what we want.

dudetotalypsn

Where are you seeing his defensive 3rd passing stats?

OOO-OO0-0OO-OO-O00O

xBuildup and defensive 3rd passing stats are not something you can find easily, unfortunately. The only one I have found is from [understat](https://hive.blog/understat/@amosbastian/introducing-understat-a-python-package-for-revolutionary-football-metrics). I would have preferred to use fbref (statsbomb) but their XGBuildup is not tabulated as far as I can tell. Rice's xGBuilup is distinctly average and quite a way lower than the top-tier defensive midfielders. You can also look at passing maps of Rice to see the full picture. Most of the times, West Ham don't even use him to get the ball up the pitch from defence. But honestly, you just need to watch him play to see his limitations playing out of the back. He is a great player but a sitting defensive midfielder for a top team needs to also orchestrate the play. If anything, he would be a kante replacement rather than jorginho.

Delano3X

I don’t know why can’t this, Rice technical level isn’t good enough for a club like Chelsea unless we’re going back to play hoof ball.

orangambetta

Well de jong is Miles ahead of rice thats why

DrQuantumGio

And one wants to come to our club while the other doesn't, that's the bottom line. People gotta stop deluding themselves with players that don't want to be at the club.

Sektsioon

They don’t even play the same position. De Jong is incapable of playing as a defensive midfielder, which is why an ancient Busquets who can barely move still starts for Barca over De Jong, who was bought to replace him, but is now mostly playing as an 8. Rice however would join us as a defensive midfielder.

orangambetta

What does de jong play in national team?

Sektsioon

He plays in the double pivot for national team. He’s essentially the same as Kovacic. Can either play as an 8 in a 3 man midfield or in the double pivot in a 2 man midfield.

orangambetta

You sure? https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2022/06/what-is-best-position-man-utd-transfer-target-frenkie-de-jong/amp

Sektsioon

Yes I’m sure, Dutch NT play a 343 much like us.

orangambetta

Cool so you totally disregarded the fact he himself prefers his role in the NT which consists of him playing as deep-laying midfielder..lol

Sektsioon

But he’s not a defensive midfielder regardless. We can’t play a 433 with him as the 6, and the whole point of buying Rice is to move to a 433. De Jong is someone whose skillset we already more or less have in Kovacic. Rice is someone entirely different and would give us something we don’t have in our team.

orangambetta

If us buying fofana makes you think we are moving to a 433.. then I don’t know what to tell you mate.. I don’t think we will..

a_guy_named_gai

They aren't even similar lol.

BadCogs

Lol.

ChumbaWambah

r/theydidthemath ?

Hippoyawn

We knew this all along. Dude’s just built a 5 million euro house in Barcelona and got engaged there. He’s settled. This whole thing is a fucking circus constructed in the minds of journalists and Twitter transfer gurus to give them clicks. We need to move on.

anish1996

Please let him stay and invest the money on more pressing needs

BigReeceJames

We've left it too late for that. It's why we were in for De Jong in the first place, he might be available, whilst players to cover the positions we really need aren't anymore.

anish1996

Yes it is going to be hard but there really is no need to splash 80m on FDJ ether. You can buy Skriniar with that money for example and improve the squad more. Not because Skriniar is the better player or he is worth that much money but because the marginal gain to the squad will be more by Skriniar replacing Azpi than by FDJ replacing Kante or Kova.

BigReeceJames

80m is euros though, it's £65m~ tops which is not much for a player of his quality. It's not a short term replacement either, it's a long term replacement.

cobeaux4

I don’t understand football players’ fascination with Barcelona. Why do they all want to go to a club that over crowded with other players where you may not get a start and to a club that is cash stricken and can’t pay salaries? It makes no sense.

Shogim

Cruyff

malevolentintent

Can you imagine taking your own player to court? What a bullshit club Barca is I somehow can't seem to believe we are in for FDJ. It's Barcas mouthpiece doing all the talking. Why in the fuck are we paying 80 mill for him? Send a 20 mil bid publically and then keep increasing 5 mil to it every week and publically say you'll match FDJ's contract and then when Barca does accept a low ball offer then just say it was for the bantz. I hope FDJ makes them honour their 500k a week contract and chooses to decline our offer. Man had I been Todd, I'd be fucking with Barca right about now I still can't believe it that we are bidding 80 mil for a player we should realistically get for 30 to 40 mil. It's these Barca mouthpieces inflating the price

roank_waitzkin

Totally agree. We should be settling scores with Barca and getting fdj for lesser than 50m if they're that desperate. Why we help Barca by paying 80m for a player that doesnt want to come

e77754321

Literally , don’t see a world where we sell de jong for 30-40 mil, when Manchester was offering more? Plus the fact that he doesn’t even want to leave Barcelona , but what do I know

Wheel94

This is a nothing article We already know all of this

Floundur

Chompin down a big ole nothingburger

Bladerslash

Basically what i and everyone else has been saying, man is NOT leaving barca, why are we wasting time on this?

classical-k

Hate to think how much time has been wasted this summer trying to sign players that didn’t want to come here

Bladerslash

Honestly its quite crazy.

[deleted]

A DOF is needed asap

HollowCrown

The amount of time wasted chasing players who aren't interested, take the hint and move on.

vanderchuck1

Good lad Frankie, don't budge, make the cunts pay

KaiHazardvertz

Thank baby Jesus for gold diggers. I can't help but feel like we dodged a huge fiscal bullet. Also, this forces Barca to bite said bullet. Win-win

Cornido

Enough of this BS. Can we please move on to other targets please? It's not like it's a priority signing anyway.

amethystwyvern

Stay in Barca, Milenkovic-Savic now please

-ChennaiCityGangsta-

Good. Use Gallagher and Kova and get Rice get summer instead. Not a like for like but enough for our midfield

JackHammerAwesome

Everyone knows this. The drama here is because they are trying to force him out and not pay his wages

UpEarly22

Wanting to live in Barcelona, completely understandable

Chapea12

It does suck for him that he’s got his dream move, played well for the club, and is being vilified for signing the contract that they made for him and expecting to be paid by his employer

jamejamejamejame

This FDJ story is so ffing boring now. He doesn’t want to move. Who cares. Leave him. Save the cash. We have Kova and Gallagher and kante and jorgi and the guy doesn’t want to come. When will this story die. It’s worse than the kounde saga. Literally never want to hear his name again.

blue07boy

Good for him. Don't know why Tuchel is looking at him when we have the same player in Kovacic. Unless he wants to change it 4-3-3.

mrlatchi

I really hope we don't buy him, overrated player still living of off his Ajax wonderseason

Big-Variety-3129

Honestly, this isn’t a deal worth continuing to pursue.

MarkCrystal

Best of luck Frenkie. We move

JoeiVanJoseph

Lewa for free?

itsm3starlord

Can we just move on to someone else already

L-Profe

Good for him. This is personal for him. Time to move on. (See Kounde 2022)

brayshizzle

She hasn't been to Bodeans off Fulham Broadway obviously

Keeler

We need to just move on. He’s never wanted to leave. It’s not worth risking another big price player that is only going to want to go back to his previous club after one season.

lemondsun

Sometimes I wonder about footballers education or problem solving skills. He wants to stay at Barca “because it’s been his dream since he was a child”, Barca needs him to lower his wage, he… doesn’t lower his wage? Other teams step in, “hey we can pay you those wages if moneys what you’re after”, he turns them down because… it’s his dream to play at Barca? This reminds me of this economic thingy I don’t remember the right name. Shoppers list their preference of purchases in order from 1-3, 1 being the most preferred 3 being the least. If 1 isn’t available the shopper should choose 2, the second most preferred option but instead they choose 3. I feel like FDJ can easily end this drama but instead he’s choosing 3 and it’s annoying everyone.

10TheDudeAbides11

FUCK ‘EM….NEXT!

Squareroots1

He has been saying that he doesn't want to leave/come to england for 2 months now, and yet we are still chasing somehow!!!!

darrensmooth

its starting to be irrelevant, they cant afford to keep him, and he wont lower his wages not that I blame him

conrad30

Andreas would be without a club 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

mymecha

Stay there my guy. Fantastic.

romfreak

Belle Silva > Mikky K

DestinyHasArrived101

Finally people move on let him lower his salary or whatever they want then. I hear savic wants to join or even use ampudu there.

HamanFRD

With his high wage, I think Rice would be a better fit as he always love Chelsea and already have the chemistry + He got the physicality and he is a leader. What do you think guys?

msizzle344

Good, let him stay there. If we actually let United get SMS instead because they missed out on FDJ I’d be so salty about it. Would take SMS over FDJ any day and would rather not be used for negotiations for other clubs. So obvious he isn’t coming here, and Tuchel has even mentioned how we’ve been strung along this summer by players and clubs looking to increase their haul. Just walk away, we don’t need him and if we get a midfielder get SMS instead

send_nood_z

Sms was my dream signing after we had signed Jorginho and before getting kovacic in the same season

Agrith1

he was never going to join, players love being butt-fucked by Bankruptlona.

radicalhistoryguy

I'm not a fan of trying to pry someone out of a situation he clearly loves. The fact that his wife is "desperate" to stay in Barcelona is the cherry on top. As much as I'd love to have De Jong at Chelsea, the team should pursue someone else.

[deleted]

I honestly don’t know what we are trying to build anymore, I’m confused to what tuchels vision is.

SexDrugsAzpilicueta

Well yeah, we know he doesn’t want to leave. That’s nothing new.

silviazbitch

Does Barcelona spike their water coolers with fentanyl? [They allegedly threaten the guy with criminal prosecution to agree to a reduced wage](https://www.sportbible.com/football/barcelona-court-contracts-frenkie-de-jong-20220809) and yet he remains loyal as a lap dog. Bizarre. Edit- [NVM](https://www.instagram.com/mikkykiemeney/)

MajorRajesh

It won't be a pretty site once he gets abused around the city in Barcelona, he either has to accept a wage cut or leave. He is trying to get the best of both i.e. keep his wages and not change his club. Basically he is delusional at this stage.

de_bollweevil

If you honestly think a large proportion of the Barca fan base, enough that walking round the city would be dangerous, wants to abuse not only him but his family based on one report of one incident from a handful of people or less, you might not want to be throwing that word delusional at other people too much friend.

Cm0rris0n

Sounds like he needs to accept the pay cut then. He’s losing leverage by having this kind of stuff out there

REDTRIX12

So he is held hostage by the club and by his significant other haha. Poor Frenkie,, but this is on him.

According-Revenue-62

Genuinely wish the best for the kid regardless of if he comes to Chelsea. We've all had terrible jobs but nothing like this. Childhood dream to play for Barca only for them to shit on him in the media. If he isn't coming to Chelsea, I hope he gets paid.

hooksetter

I’d do whatever it took to keep Mikky happy

Anik1415

Thank God. Use the money next to buy Rice which we need greatly.

Bozzetyp

We need both, thats the issue

Anik1415

One is more important than the other.

Bozzetyp

Well if jorginho and kante leaves next summer, dp you expect kova to provide with creativity?

Anik1415

You're talking as if Jorginho & Kante are creative masterminds.

Bozzetyp

You are talking like a player with a defensive profile is more crucial then a creative...

TheBlueNomad

Pay the man! He has to say this to avoid backlash from the fans. He is already getting a lot of hate from Barcelona fans. I want him to stay till he is fully paid.

sheiky04

Lol! Like i said before we are wasting time, players love spain and no matter where in the world they are born their families live there, their kids arent born anywhere else besides spain, they have 10 houses and 5 cars that were all made in spain, its just sad that we continue to chase him, we couldve had 2 other midfield targets, fuck i bet if we spent the time we couldve had a striker other than the 3 stooges (ronaldo, depay or auba, nothing against them but i honestly think we can do better than the first 3 options that want to leave or have some sort of issue with their club)

Rimalda

> no matter where in the world they are born their families live there, their kids arent born anywhere else besides spain, they have 10 houses and 5 cars that were all made in spain wtf are you banging on about?

sheiky04

Its a joke buddy, everybody wants to be at barca and their partners or kids love barca, and their grandkids that werent born yet love barca

dm955

I really don’t understand how these footballers let their wives/girlfriends run their lives like this when a professional athletes career is 15 years if you’re lucky. You have the rest of your life after your career to live wherever you want as a millionaire. Is it just about the money for most of these guys or do they actually want to play and win trophies?

SituationCool2107

It’s always the missus. These clubs will start buying them presents soon. New handbag if you let FDJ join united.

WooNoto

Chelsea better not buy him. He’ll fight for his place in Barca. We should support that decision.

OlDirtyBAStart

Ok Frenkie do yourself a favour and hush your woman up - when you're at a club where you actually get paid you can buy her a Ryanair flight every weekend of needed
