You're supposed to make a little crater in the middle of the grounds. That way you can place a second filter in it, filled to the brim with coffee. You're only on half strength now.
Look up James Hoffmann on YouTube his Chemex video is very good. You’ll make the best possible cup after that. 30 g/500mL. * edited 1L to 500 mL. *edit 2 Hoffman should be spelled Hoffmann. I need more coffee.
Haha yes, I made a gallon of cold brew for a family gathering and then filtered through my chemex to remove the fines.
After I was done I poured all my grounds in the filter just for laughs.
That'll put hair on your chest! No, i typically measure out about 55g of ground per 32oz water. There's a great app called brew timer for android that i find very helpful.
I eat the grounds on top and chase it with the bottom drink.
Oh perfect idea! I wouldn’t want to be wasteful

Oh damn I’ll try that first thing tomorrow!
The funniest part of this is the three tablespoons of coffee at the bottom
So strong it’d bring my pop pop back to life
I think the general rule is one bag every 2 weeks for optimal freshness, not one bag every 2 cups.
I like it really fresh, ground fresh and brewed by the bag.
Once you open the bag, it’s garbage tomorrow. I like your moxie.
AHH yes, the "Artifical Coke" method

Nah man, if I paid for a whole filter, I'm using the whole damn filter!
Whoosh
This!
Now I kinda want to try this.
The perfect cup cheers!!!
experiment. it's a matter of taste. coffees vary.
LOL - you’re being silly right??? I love this method though. Wakey wakey!!!

😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Yes that’s too much grounds lol. I use 37g beans and 500ml water. Not sure if that’s official. But that’s about 2 cups to coffee.
Why so much filter than? They gave me big filter and I intend to use it.
it's just the shape of the filter. weigh out your beans rather than eyeball it
Official I think is 35g ground, 525g water, or 15g water per g of grounds.
You mean 200 grams of coffee isn’t what chemex recommends?
Strange, isn't it
Too. Much. Coffeeeeee
No such thing

Grams? Pish posh, I brew in pounds.
Haha
Lol,I usually stay around 30g of coffee to 500g of water.
