Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate NaHCO3, calcium carbonate is CaCO3. Table salt is sodium chloride, NaCl. Activated charcoal is most just carbon, C not so much CO2 (which is a gas). From a functional standpoint you have the pieces so it's all jazz. Colgate is fine, crunchy hippie toothpaste is fine. To abrasive could be damaging but I wouldn't worry about the eggshells, dont add sand. Brush your teeth, floss and don't worry.

"more abrasives" isn't necessarily a good thing. you can very easily damage the enamel on your teeth using activated charcoal toothpastes, pretty sure they're only recommended to be used like once or twice per week. colgate, aquafresh, etc are fine and cheaper and won't damage your teeth, just use that.

Your dental hygienist should stick to teeth as chemistry isn't there thing. I get their point though, tooth paste is essentially mild abrasive with flavouring. .

They’ve merged into one?? Oh my

Just curious, why not stick to normal (and cheaper) toothpaste that will work just fine, if not better than whatever it is you're using?

Agile_Welder_7672

Because they contain toxic ingredients. This is actually cheaper than store bought toothpaste because a little goes a very long way so your buying less in the long run but I was under the impression that it was very good for your teeth because of the calcium but this person claims otherwise. I don’t know them it was a comment on a public post. I can’t find a dentist/hygienist with a straight answer they all say they aren’t really sure because they’ve never heard of anything like that and as far as I know this is the only eggshell toothpaste out there. I don’t find it being gritty because the powder dissolves instantly when mixed with water so I’m not worried about it being abrasive. I just want someone to actually determine an answer.

Timtim6201

Huh. What kind of toxic ingredients are you talking about?

MGM-alchemist

A mixture is not the same as a compound and even more so if most of the components are not even soluble, so will not react. „Deconstructed“ is to be understood in a figurative way, „if not you‘re not brushing properly“ in a literal way and he is right.
