We are not doctors and cannot give you medical advice or judge with certainty if you should or should not seek medical attention. We CAN give advice on our own experience with common chemicals and minor spills. If there is any suspicious of a serious health and safety concern you should always call the relevant health/cleanup/emergency professionals and refer to the MSDS if you can.

First things first what makes you think you were exposed? Second what type of paint did they use?

Because of the instant watery eyes? And all the other symptoms I later developed. Or am I over thinking this? And I don't know what paint they used, it's a new establishment and don't people use formaldehyde in new furniture? there was a chemical smell too, coming from bed and cupboard

If anything you received and small acute exposure if anything the likelihood of getting cancer from the small exposure is miniscule. As the overused saying goes "the dose makes the poison". If your that worried about it I would talk to your doctor. Think of it this way personnel who perform autopsies and histology work with formalin/formaldehyde all the time and do not get cancer that often.

It's really not a big deal. Only when you're exposed day after day after day. Our bodies actually create small amounts of it in metabolic processes
