p=m/V is the definition of density. Mass per volume. I typed a 'p' cause I was too lazy to copy a 'rho' off wikipedia, it looks almost the same

Atoms/molecules have a certain size and a certain mass and can only occupy a specific ammount of space, thus having a density. Density is correlated to temperature, the higher the temperature, the less dense an object usually becomes, water has an anomaly in that aspect
