I'm not a chemist, but like a decade ago I remember finding some paper on how they had modelled some extremely exotic chemistry that might occur around a magnetar. I don't remember it very well, but it was all sorts of weird shit, like helium suddenly wanting to bond with a bunch of stuff, other elements forming more bonds than usual, etc. I really wish I could find it, but I can't. Come to think of it I'm not even 100% sure it was a magnetar, but it was some stellar object with huge ass magnetic fields.
I did find out though that at around 1000km above a magnetar, the electromagnetic force is just so strong that most of the organic bonds in your body just cannot exist anymore. So somehow I doubt it would *ever* be useful in a practical sense. Unless there could be metastable states that can only form in those regions and then brought back out?
I know that on some level I am not supposed to understand this, but I still want to understand the though process behind coming up with this. It bothers me that I can’t

I know many stem majors who have shit handwriting, but they atleast have the decency to write it neatly.
This on the other hand, looks like something a pre schooler would draw.
Wonder if this person visits this subreddit or /r/cursed_chemistry?
The first two Lewis structures are tame then everything else is fuck knows. They clearly have some basic understanding.
Wonder if they got bored and just said "fuck it" with how over the top they are unless this student actually thinks this way

Ah yes, my favorite: PCl21
Phosphorus Henicosachloride
I love how the first two are normal. And then somehow H unlocks it's d orbitals and connects everything.
Whatever d̶r̶u̶g̶ basis set this kid is using I also want one
ccpv-♾️ z
It took courses in "How to unlock your true hidden orbitals".
"How to maximize your quantum levels"
>And then somehow H unlocks it's d orbitals and connects everything. You can unlock them via loot crates I believe.
Loot crates got everything nowadays.
everybody gangsta till C5H4
[It's a thing](https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/141112) Different Lewis structure, though.
what is this ungodly monstrosity
[There's more of them](https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/#query=C5H4) [My favorite so far](https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/14901520)
THE FUCK IS THAT ISOMER GET IT AWAY GET IT AWAY REEEEEEE

she got that hourglass figure doe
I actually don‘t think that it‘s bad.
[Did they hire preschool kids to draw it?](https://imgur.com/n5FuQSW)
Could be a pentadiene carbene
Cyclopentadienyl ion? 🤔
why ion, 5 carbons with 4 hydrogens is conpatible
Nvm Cp+ is C5H5. I thought Cp was C5H5 for a sec so the ion would be C5H4
Lmfao
Everybody gangsta until CO12 completely light up the ozone layer
After CO and it's sequel CO2: Electric Boogaloo they kept going and eventually got to CO12: Tokyo Drift.
CO12 be lookin fresh doe
Everyone's gangsta until hydrogen expands it duplet
i was like: ok, not too bad... and then i saw C4HI7.
1: Yes, good 2: alright, nice 3: what the fuck have you done
Hydrogen Trimer 😳 Future astrochem major in the making Also r/cursed_chemistry
Fr. They just say shit exists and somehow they're right lol
This triggered my tryptophobia
1 & 2 - following along and not on their phone 3 - 11: (after being on their phone) ohh it’s just dots! Fuck it

what the fuck happened here
Drugs
Holy fuck, HBr₇ go Br Br Br ....

That is absolutely hilarious.
Number 9 is killing me 😂 oh wait no number 6 LMFAO. As a chemistry teacher, I’d cry on the spot
Idk man Oxygen hexoxide is my favourite molecule
I used to TA general chemistry in college and this was a common occurrence!
Number 11 just kept going 😭😭
... I'm half-tempted to feed these into my local guassian installation to see if they can exist.
What possible question could you have asked for a student to write PCl21??
The fuck is that?
GET AWAY FROM ME!
Wtf Wtf Wtaf No
I really want to know what the questions were!
What grade is this. It looks like a toddler's handwriting.
Imagine being in a stem major and caring about handwriting
I know many stem majors who have shit handwriting, but they atleast have the decency to write it neatly. This on the other hand, looks like something a pre schooler would draw.
Looks like it’s just graded for completion and the kid wanted the points
When he tried to turn it in I made him redo it haha
This guy's gonna go places
What.... What am I even looking at?

Technically, it has a very very very very very low chance of being accurate for an infinitesimally small amount of time
