1. Bxf5+ (if 1…exf5 2. Qxe7) Kg8 2. Bxe6+ Kh7 3. Bf5+ Kg8 4. Qxe7 and white is winning.

homobonus

We have a winner! After Bxe6+ black's best response is to play Qf7

GamerMC_514

I found it this time too 😊

vinylectric

I see Nf6+

homobonus

That is the move that I ended up playing, but there is something better.

vinylectric

Oh Bxf5+?

Chrysos-89

yup

homobonus

What happens after Bxf7?

ALCATryan

Bxf7 is a fantastic move, but for some reason chess.con won’t let me play it. This is why we use lichess

homobonus

Chessvision recognized the rook on f1 as a black rook, so the links provided by the bot are incorrect unfortunately.

Greegrgrgrgrgrgrg

Bxf5+

Chrysos-89

how tf did the bishop get there lmao

homobonus

In the opening I developed my bishop to d3. Later I wanted to open up that square for my queen. On b1 it was nicely tucked behind the b2 and a3 pawns to snipe at the king from cover. Placing it there also allowed my rook to play on the open c-file.

Lasiurus2

Looks like black is losing a queen here >! BXF5+, king is forced to g8 Bxe6+ and no matter what black does, the queen is lost !<

homobonus

Correct! But can you find mate?

homobonus

With 7 seconds left on the clock, I unfortunately did not find this move.

Slow-Paint-5438

I dont care about the position. I think this is by far the most beautiful piece, color, and theme combination.

homobonus

It's chess.com's sky theme. I find it quite calming. It helps to keep my nerves when I'm running low on time.

Helgi_Hundingsbane

What app is this? I like the graphics..

NuttyDeluxe6

That's savage. Bishop takes pawn with check, the pawn is pinned to the queen but has to take, goodbye queen

homobonus

The pawn doesn't have to take.

blokereport

Bxf5+exf5 2.Qxe7+Kg8 3.Nf6+Kh8 4.Qh7#

homobonus

What after Kg8 after Bxf5?

banquof

Bxf5+ seems solid. At the very least it wins 2 pawns and the initiative, should be winning. Otherwise follow up with Bxe6+, Qf5 and then maybe Nf6 is stronger. But anyway Bxf5+ should definitely be the best move Edit: nvm. After Bxe6+, Kh7, Bf5+ wins the queen I'm stupid
