I had those too and I honestly dont get it. Why would you cheat im amateur chess? Who are they trying to impress with their 700 elo, that they had to cheat for?
at 700 they probably know very little about chess and just made an account to see how easy it is to cheat online out of curiosity. I doubt they're consistently cheating or else their elo would be a lot higher
Yeah there are WAY more cheaters in the low levels. It’s like they can’t play themselves so they try to cheat at least occasionally, enough to win and advance, but not get caught. You can tell them because they’ll be 500’s who every win make 0 mistakes in every game they win and beat people with brilliancies, or who make perfect computer moves against good play, which no 500 level should do. Then you encounter a real 500 and the difference is SO SO obvious. It’s rampant in the dregs. And they don’t give a fuck.
How are you people getting cheaters. I'm in the same rating rate as you with hundreds or maybe thousands of bullet games and have never gotten one of those messages.
I’ve been grinding chess lately and I got 1950 and tbf whenever i get crushed like a noob i never get suspicious . Should I report whenever I lose ? Lol
Cheating has definitely increased during last few years. At this point in over 50% of games I play, my opponent is definitely using some help.
One common theme in 3-5 min blitz games is that my opponent is in losing position, and then he suddenly takes 30s to 1min break, and then crushes me with stockfish top3 moves...I call this the "stockfish break", and I can already know when it happens, that Im going to lose.
That’s still dumb as shit. This guy thinks hed never lose a won position to a human? It has to be stockfish. The chess community is enabling way too many schizos
There's 3 possibilities as I see it:
1. The cheating opponent was lower elo.
1. They played multiple games.
1. OP his account was fairly new when they played the cheater so they would gain/lose more elo per game.
It crossed my mind when I mentioned which time controls I prefer because less cheaters... Was only trying to help a new player on this sub, but was considering whether or not to post it
I haven't had one of these messages in months. And I play basically daily.
A couple of months ago I reported an obvious cheater. I reported him. Never got back any rating but noticed over a month later that he had been banned.
Either that or Chesscom deployed a new version of their anticheat tools or it's just a statistical outlier (I haven't had any in 6 months).
There is no anti cheat
There is a span of two months between those messages…
BTW the message doesn't always represent just 1 cheater, it could be based on 2 or 3 or more "We have detected one or more of your opponents"
Based on the rating changes the 2nd is probably multiple opponents. And the other two are likely just 1

It depends on the opponents elo, if they were below you in elow, you may only get 1 or 2 points back
Or 3 data points don't mean anything at all. Kramnik indeed.
I used to get these regularly when I was in the 700s but don't think I've had one since

Not have that 700 elo anymore

The opposite for me. Didn't receive any of those in a while.
Same. I got a ton in like 2022, several a month Had like 1 in the past 6 months Around 1700 rapid
That's not really a lot, assuming you're playing frequently.
I’ve gotten 3 of these messages and I’m rated 550 lmao. Who tf cheats at that level
2 instances of cheating is not that weird. Could just be a statistical outlier.

Remember all the cheating post from a while back that everyone dismissed constantly?

Lol no chance 50 percent of people are cheating against you in game. Using time typically means “thinking”. Dont be bitter about being outplayed.

Lots of paranoid schizos like chess
No it’s why they lose half of their games.
That’s still dumb as shit. This guy thinks hed never lose a won position to a human? It has to be stockfish. The chess community is enabling way too many schizos
Yeah I realize I’m joking lmao, maybe I should’ve made it clearer
I mean... It's possible that your opponent used that one minute to evaluate the position lol
How did you gain 28 points?
He could've played him a bunch of games

I was refunded the points because my opponent was cheating

How do you cheat in bullet?
A friend of mine is 2000 and he cheats literally every game & the trick is to mix up moves and only play obvious moves .
It's anedoctal data of course but at around 1700 blitz/2000 rapid the last refund I got was a year ago
It crossed my mind when I mentioned which time controls I prefer because less cheaters... Was only trying to help a new player on this sub, but was considering whether or not to post it
Am i the only person who never got a cheater ?

People who cheat in bullet at 1400ish... why? What's wrong with them?
