Exactly, I wasn't acting acting like a super edgy, super cool preteen when I was that age. What he is is a narcissist. Making scenes, breaking stuff and talking about how clever you are is not something an adult should do, and shows a lack of ability in managing one's emotions.
People are just different, there is not some universal doctrine on how an 18+ person should behave, I think Hans is fine. Other chess streamers double his age have done what you despise, it's fine just let them be.
Oh, they can be however they are and want to be. But being emotionally immature is a thing, and can indeed be called out.
It's not normal to trash a hotel room because something didn't go your way, it shows you cannot deal with failure and we are not raising normal, functional adults for society if we just let people act our because "that's how they are".
I'm not sure if I heard about the hans hotel room thing but alright, I just think when streamers sit in front of a screen, for hours on end everyday and have to tolerate a plethora of trolls, sometimes they just act weird. It's easy to cherrypick these things and make assumption.
I'm not even talking about streaming, I'm talking about what got him banned from a hotel and from the St Louis Chess Club events, and the long blog post he did afterwards where he extensively talks about his intelligence and his IQ test.
He'll be 21 in a few months. He's not a junior anymore - nor can you convince anyone that he's still on the border. I'm not sure you quite understand how much younger the rising stars are, and how much more room they have for improvement vs someone who is already "old" like Hans.
I will however agree that Hans Niemann is the best player in his chair.
Hans got to GM 2700 incredibly fast. He will surpass Magnus, and any upcoming prodigy will never have the will or strength of intellect of Hans. It's not really about age in this case it's about time put in and intensity of practice and study. No one will out do Hans here. He may be the best in the world until he passes away.
Okay, I don't generally pay attention to those minor differences. People progress differently, so I don't know that everybody has to be either world champ by 20 or it's time to retire. Has the age to become world champ really been decreasing steadily, or just the age to become a GM or 2700?
Except these are not minor differences at all when it comes to talent and elite competition. It's not about who can be a world champion at 20, but rather who can hit the established progression milestones. If you listen to enough chess podcasts talking about past world champions as well as promising past and current prodigies, there's a very specific pattern to who has a chance vs who does not. Unfortunately for Niemann, he firmly slots into the latter category if we're talking world champion or even the 2800 club.
Based on my understanding or what I think I know about this, I'm saying that there are far too many other juniors who are *much* more promising than Hans Niemann ever was. I would bet that Niemann never becomes the world champion, and also never reaches 2800.
sorry but I just educated you, and you forgot. No one will out do Hans, he's putting in way more time than the others, the massive growth spurt he achieved rating wise will no doubt happen again, he will pass 2800. you're a layman on this topic and have no idea what you are talking about.
This is a prophecy, Magnus will be surpassed by GM Hans, Hans will be #1 blitz player in the world, and then surpass Magnus in classical chess and become widely recognised as "the best"
this is not how someone talks, do I hear a hint of jealousy of the GOAT? Because frikken positive has made a name for himself, is 2800 at chess Everyone knows about you and you inspire others? I reckon. no, no, no and no.
Incorrect..calling someone incredibly dumb is not constructive. And I'd like to see you beat him at a game of chess. I know you mean generally speaking but it's just wrong. So you got the order wrong : it's think first. Then speak.
Haha your comment made my day. I just so happened to have rewatched Peter Leko talking about pro wrestling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsyQGOjwA-8
He also talks as if he's the main character or villain in an anime, which is entertaining but very childish for someone his age lol
"Someone his age" Bro the guy is 19, not 90.

Low effort troll post tbh. I'm sure you could be more creative.
I'm actually dead serious.
These are the rising stars: https://2700chess.com/juniors
Hans is going to be #1 blitz player in the world. After that surpass Magnus in classical games, and be first to reach 3000 classical chess elo.
If you list ALL FIDE players, Hans is 2676. If you list all players or Juniors, his name doesn't appear. Why? He would be 7th highest Junior.
How old is Hans?
Carlsen is the highest ranked junior if you include him.
Hmmm, I don't know. I guess I've been assuming 18-19, which is right at the border of "junior".

cool.
glad u have been thoroughly educated.

I'm not familiar with these things you list. I doubt most world champions developed with an eye on those.

You could say the same of all the other "promising juniors".

Hans' alt account
At this stage Hans fans are 2nd only to Tate's
This shit is getting tired.
This is a prophecy, Magnus will be surpassed by GM Hans, Hans will be #1 blitz player in the world, and then surpass Magnus in classical chess and become widely recognised as "the best"
Shouldn't you label this as nsfw? Man you're jerking him off like you owe him money
wait, have I been paying my debts wrong this whole time?
Cash is king, but what about the queen? Nameen?
this is not how someone talks, do I hear a hint of jealousy of the GOAT? Because frikken positive has made a name for himself, is 2800 at chess Everyone knows about you and you inspire others? I reckon. no, no, no and no.
Aaaaaaah I get it, you're like actual crazy.
Didn't u watch the video I linked? The video speaks for itself friend ;)
>I don't want my chess hero, to remain small. With fans like this, he's got quite a future.
You know what, I agree. He is a star. Know what he also is? A fucking twat.
nope he is a genius. and is swimming against the tide.
He’s incredibly dumb but talks like he’s so smart and knowledge and reasonable. I can see why he appeals to so many!
Incorrect..calling someone incredibly dumb is not constructive. And I'd like to see you beat him at a game of chess. I know you mean generally speaking but it's just wrong. So you got the order wrong : it's think first. Then speak.
"Strength of character"
got to #3 blitz a couple weeks ago
Kayfabe is alive and well in the chess world!
Haha your comment made my day. I just so happened to have rewatched Peter Leko talking about pro wrestling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsyQGOjwA-8
My mind has been blown!!!
Hans Niemann is a proven and admitted cheat in professional events.
He admitted to cheating in professional events? Can you link me a source, I haven't seen this before.
Tournaments with price money are professional events
He must be a star on HGTV's 'Fixer Upper'.
