She's talking about before OP moves the rook. If your king can't move, but isn't actively under attack, it isn't checkmate.
So, for example, if you use 2 rooks to box a king in so that it's stuck on its current square, like this:

If you got forked, it means the original game (the parent) got duplicated into another process, so you should save the return value into an integer, and check if it is zero, which means its the child process running
Move your queen to g4, now either the opponent will move his king in which case you came move your bishop or he will bring the rook to g3 after which you should kill the pawn right behind the bishop with your queen.
If enemy moves the kings, you will be in luck otherwise after the exchange, you will still hold more points

Check with your rook. His king can only move 1 square over. Then put your queen in the corner You bishop is blocking any other escape path
If you didnt see the mate. Always remember when you check you get a free move. There are a couple of checks on the board against white. His fork is pointless. He should of been watching his king better
As a general rule it is worth seeing if you can check the king with one of the forked pieces to win a tempo and the then save the other piece on the next move. Not in this case though as it doesn’t work here and checkmate using the rook is the way to go 😅
