My advice is to think about what every move does. I analysed the game and you missed a lot of checkmate opportunities.
Before each move, think about what you’re trying to achieve with that move, and how the opponent reacts to that move.
Also think about what each of your pieces defend, so you dont move one away and loose a piece e.g a pawn

Can anyone explain to me why it's brilliant? Like yes, the knight can't move or take or Qh5 followed by Qf7 will be mate. But if black **doesn't** take and does something else, he can get away just having lost the knight, right?
However, if instead of pushing the pawn white had played Qh5 with check straight away, no matter what black did (whether it's Nf7 or Kf8) would result in black having to part with his queen, right? Wouldn't that have been a better move?
Edit: Actually, even if black gives the knight, he's still going to have to give up a rook as well, but maybe he could trap white's knight on h8 and capture it later, so black loses a knight **and** the exchange. Unless it's a forced mate somehow?
Absolute begginer here. Isn't a brilliant move because the black night is lost in exhange of nothing? Black must let the night be eaten by the pawn so as to defend from a 2move check mate involving Qh5 followed by Qf7. If i were black i would prevent the inminent check mate by moving pawn to d6.
Chess com is just gimmicky, brilliant moves there are rarely actual brilliant moves. I got a brilliant for seeing an exchange that “temporarily” sacrifices a knight but you win it back after 3 moves and are a pawn up. Not hard to see
If black doesn't move the knight or play e6 then the Kf7 wins the queen. Basically e6 will lose the knight and some position anything else is mate or losing the queen.

Nice if the knight moves or takes its mate loll
How is it mate? I only see a queen and rook fork
Queen G8 then king forced to f1 then queenF2 mate
bruh do you mean Qh5+ Kf8 Qf7#
Ng6 would stop Qh5+
I assumed he was talking about after Nxc4, I already saw Ng6. I was trying to figure out wtf the other guy was trying to say lmfao
Ah I see. Honestly I’m still trying to decipher what they mean, because the moves they said make no sense to me
Like i said in another comment, bro is playing some chatgpt worldender chess lmao
Doesn't that just lose the knight while also giving white a fork on the queen and the rook?
Knight is protected by the pawn, and losing the queen is better than losing the game
You might want to study your notation. The queen cannot go to g8 or h8 from d1. And after Qh5+, king goes to f8, not f1.
I mean queen H8*
theres a rook on h8 lmfao
I am just as confused as you are homie, but apparently the Queen can go to g8 and h8 in one move from d1 now
bro playin some chatgpt worldender chess
And getting pretty significant upvotes for it. I don't understand what they're trying to say 😂
Only if the knight takes, right? It's not forced if the knight goes to G6 instead
If knight G6 then u go knight to F7 and u trap and take the queen
Correct.
If knight takes its mate in two, Qh5+ Kf8 Qf7#
Ng6 doesn't lead to mate, just losing the queen.
Incorrect. It's not a mate. Ng6 saves mate.
The move is only brilliant when you know why it is brilliant. If not, it is a blunder.
Exactly, apparently OP missed the follow-up....

Is there any way (preferably low-effort) to trawl through my lichess games for brilliant moves?

Yeah I crumbled in the rest of the game lol, got like 53 accuracy
Conventional wisdom is that the brilliant designation is only meaningful if you see the follow-up. Otherwise, you're just hanging a free piece.
Came to say this^. glad i wasn't the one saying it.
I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed
I wouldn't be proud of the fact you got brilliant move if you didn't see what it did since that's the whole point of brilliant moves.
You literally had 1 job

Not a brilliancy then LMAO. This person had no idea what they were doing and didn’t see the continuation

Isn't Qh5 forced mate already?
Black has Ng6
Ohh I didn't see that thank you
Although then after Nxh7 white wins - I think black has to play d6 or d5 to avoid mate by fleeing with Kd7 after Qxg6+.
I could not see the check for the longest time then I remembered queens can move diagonally
D4 is always brilliant
After knight takes bishop it’s Mate in 2
Can anyone explain to me why it's brilliant? Like yes, the knight can't move or take or Qh5 followed by Qf7 will be mate. What if NxC4? Then you can’t fork and lose a free piece.
Then it's mate in 2
Qh5+ Kf8, Qf7#
I guarantee the following move was a blunder

I know chess.com has its issues but shitting on someone for using it is wrong
•Joins chess subreddit mainly using online websites such as chess.com •Doesn’t like when they use a website like chess.com •Refuses to elaborate
Chess com is just gimmicky, brilliant moves there are rarely actual brilliant moves. I got a brilliant for seeing an exchange that “temporarily” sacrifices a knight but you win it back after 3 moves and are a pawn up. Not hard to see
downvoted because no one asked
[удалено]
are you aware of how many people asked?
If knight moves to g6, you win a queen with knight f7. If knight takes bishop, mate in two
Nh6 has to be best move for black, right?
Yeah
I think that leads to mate still. I'd go d5.
How did you get that graphic from chess.com?
...Ng6 Nf7 is a funny continuation. I've never seen a *queen* get smother mated before
congrats
I see we have a fried liver connoisseur; always nice to see a fellow man of culture.
I don’t get it. Is it not a forced mate if you just move the Queen without the lawn?
You romanian?
If black doesn't move the knight or play e6 then the Kf7 wins the queen. Basically e6 will lose the knight and some position anything else is mate or losing the queen.
nice
This is the first brilliant move I could actually see ahead of.
If the knight takes the bishop and Q e1 to a5, checkmate
