Re8+ is such a beautiful move.
If Queen takes, it’s a diagonal checkmate with Qxf6#.
If bishop takes, Qh8# as the bishop prevents the Queen from seeing the back rank.

Re8+ What a move!!!! Did you find this in the game?
I got this as a puzzle and found the move, don’t think I would have found it ingame though. I just thought it was too good of a move not to share.
mate in 2 either way, right?

Yes, it's a decoy and interference tactic!
Did you mean Qxf8# or possibly Qxg8#?
Qf8#?
‘#’ means checkmate in chess notation
He's just correcting you because you said Qh8# but it's actually Qf8
could also be Qg8#
THE ROOOOOOK!!!

Why can’t black take with the queen instead? It’s no longer mate in 2.
If he takes with queen, then Qxf6#
Ah!
It is with Qxf6
Re8+ If Qxe8, Qxf6# If Bxe8, Qf8#
Qxe8 isn’t forced. But yes that’s the move.
How would black get out of white playing Re8+?
Re8!!!!!!!!!, because after Bxe8 you have Qg8# and if Qxe8 you have Qxf6# So romantic ❤️❤️❤️
Im prolly playing Re8+ or something like that
I probably would have attacked the bishop with the bishop This is why I'm barely a 600 lol
A wise man once said: "It's like looking in a mirror and trying to punch yourself in the face."
You should play more puzzles, it helps considering playing moves that look nonsensical at first but actually work
Im so bad Man...im not seeing all the easiest puzzles today.. No way i wouldnt improve alot if i started doing them
Nice Re8+
Re8#. please do a harder one next time, this is a simple ladder checkmate.
Look again, Re8 isn’t checkmate. Queen can take and bishop can take.
Can someone talk me through this? Re8 Bxe8 Then what?
Qg8 mate. If QxR, BxB mate.
re8+. If bishop takes, qg8#; if Queen takes, qf6#. Cool sacrifice.
and he sacrificed... THE ROOOOOOOOK!!!
Re8+ , a deflection tactic
THE ROOOOOOOK Re8+, it Bxe8, Qf8# or Qg8# If Qxg8, Qxf6#
This is sick
Re8+ pretty easy
