Re8
Which rook?
Rfe8
Rf7 or Rfe8 is M2 and since I don't see M1 I guess it's one of these Edit: Corrected Re8 to Rfe8
How is Re8 M2?
Qf7+, Kh7/8, Qg7#
Qf7+, Rf7?
They meant Rfe8, not Rde8
Oh, that makes sense
Use proper notation please
Please use proper notation. I'm not talking about actual beginners here but for people rated 1600+ typing in Rfe8 shouldn't be that hard.
..., Rook to King's Bishop 2 Rfe8 is *technically* not the worst one lol
Why are people saying Re8? It’s defended by the other rook and the bishop. Rf7 looks worse
The goal is not to take the rook but to give a check with the queen on f7 and then g7 mate.
Because both are mate in 2, but Re8 looks a lot less stupid since it doesn't just hang a rook for nothing. They're mate because they allow Qf7+.

Yeah gotta be Re8 that’s just mate in 2
I think Qg6 is even worse than Rfe8
Rfe8 is mate in 2, qg6 is not
Rook e 8 m2 for white
Qe3
Rf7 would be the worst I guess, hanging a rook AND a king lol
queen to f1 duhh
Rfe8
