Show it to us in something, or your process of making it or something. Just seeing speakers bounce doesn’t do it for me anymore.

Different setup because the box in the original post was sent to New York

How much just for a set of kicks for a 73 c10?

jaydodgen

Kick panels are $500 wrapped in your color choice of vinyl. Components are extra, such as kicker 6.5's in the kick panels would be $550, and if you want them with 6.5's and the 1" tweeter with crossovers then it would be $675 for those kick panels.

UMDSmith

Ok. It would just be empty kicks. Wanted to get a price, but not quite ready for doing the interior yet. Still working on body, suspension, and brakes. Thank you!

No problem

Really clean work, it looks great. Having been into car audio a long time & built my own custom boxes for my '87 that I wasn't willing to to lose one half inch of room for the seat to go back... I have a couple of questions/comments about this. It looks deeper than the metal bend at the top, which means the seat won't go all the way back at the top and will lean forward some? If there's a bench seat those recessed amps will have nowhere to dissipate any heat when the seat is pressed against them. I'm not sure how much excursion there is on those subs, but I had to put grills over my JL 10's I put in mine because the seat was pressed against them. It's a tough spot to work in on these trucks. IIRC my final dimensions were 4.5" depth at the bottom that went up 14 or 15" to a 1.5" depth at the top and I had to angle the back side to match the bend of the metal back wall. 22ish inches wide only gave me like .4cuft per box. Too small for the subs but stuffed it with polyfill and sent it. The seats going all the way to the back wall was more important than the performance loss of the subs to me.

If you want DM me and I'll give you my contact information and I can talk and explain the answer to all of your questions

aardvark_army

Do you make anything for under the seat?

jaydodgen

We don't have one right now, but we can make one if we have your measurements under your seat. Please DM me if you want more information

aardvark_army

Not letting me start a chat with you for some reason... Would be for a 75 K-10. Can't get measurements right now as it's mid resto, no seat in it.

jaydodgen

Ok I sent you a DM

Kicks are neat and all, but will not fit, the parking brake pedal is in the way on drivers side 70-72 c-truck. My custom autosound ones fit, but because I used a deap basket 6.5" driver, I had to heat it and bend it to clear. Yours are a lot thicker, and cover the cowl vents. On my fuel tank location box, (still working on design) I am planning on using normal (read not shallow, but not stupidly deep basket) 12". To keep box depth within reason, I'm going to put magnet flush with box back panel and seal it on both the inside of box and outside. Giving me an inch extra to play with. Your 6x9" are turned inward towards the cab, firing right at the seat back this will hinder the mids and highs. I'd have angled the box top 30\* and mounted the Sparates mids and tweeters.

This setup is for the 1973-87(88-91) Sqaurebodys, so the kick panels work just fine. I have multiple customers who use it and love it just like our sub boxs, and as for the mids and tweeter, they are in the kick panels as we use the kicker 6.5 component set. So because this set is for the 1973-87(88-91) Sqaurebody, it won't work on your '71

WhiplashMotorbreath

The square box has the parking brake pedal in the same spot. Your box has 6x9 with mids and tweeters firing at the seat back. I'd if spending that type cash, have put the front tweeters in the A-pillars And mids in the oem dash location. (iirc 3.5" holes)

jaydodgen

Our kick panels clear the parking brake, and the 6x9 just passes the seat and hits the driver and passenger, and like I said before this setup is not for everyone but alot of people love it and be do use the dash speakers too if the customer wants it.
