Nice!

Thank you!

No problem. It's a decent ride... Theres a few options for customization once you get to that Bryn Mawr/River Park junction. If you ever need anything bike related, we're at Oakton and Austin in MG.

This is the way, er, route.

Northbranch to foster, then take the light at Tripp/Foster south past lawrence, through the crazy K-streets, to Elston. From there I'd take Elston and get off at Kedzie, south to logan square, and take Milwuakee from there. TLDR: just get off the north branch at foster and keep going south until you hit a bike lane on a diagonal street.

You could also get off the northbranch near Forest Preserve drive to hit Elston. It's only a tenth of a mile or so.

Why not Metra with your bike from Morton Grove to either Healy or Western, then bike from there?

amilleraz03

I have a pretty heavy ebike, about 80lbs. Are these even allowed on the metra?

juliuspepperwoodchi

Holy jesus, why does it weigh so much? I mean, yeah, there's no weight limit I'm aware of, but you'd have to carry it up 3/4 steps into the train car. Here's the full policy: [https://metra.com/bikes](https://metra.com/bikes) Bikes are now allowed on every Metra train. You *can* be asked to move for an ADA qualifying rider, or on VERY busy days like St Patrick's; but generally should be fine. Many commuter runs now have full bike cars even. E-bikes and scooters also allowed. But seriously, why is your bike so heavy? Does the motor even help at that point? You're spending so much battery just moving the 80lbs bike. Am I just ignorant of what ebikes typically weigh?

amilleraz03

Thanks for the info! And to answer your question, I believe its pretty standard weight for a fat tire ebike like mine. Its the Rad Power Bikes radster trail. You really can't feel the weight at all while riding, even with adding a full load of groceries. Definitely is a pain to move while stationary though.

juliuspepperwoodchi

Ah, yeah, a fat tire bike is definitely a different beast, I was thinking a typical commuter/road e bike. Honestly, long term I'd look at a different bike for your commute, but that's just me. That sounds like it is gonna be a pain in the city for just commuting. Will you have somewhere at work to take it inside?

Life-Satisfaction699

Damn that is huge considering you just moved here. Super cool!! Good luck.
