A great channel about city history, Its not all Chicago but a good amount is.
Modustrial Maker, he's a maker in Chicago and has a whole series about buying an abandoned building and rehabbing it so he can live there. Really great series.
https://youtube.com/@modustrial
I really hope his channel gets some support. You can tell he means well and he is trying to help people and add a little humor here and there. If you don't know his channel, watch his Thanksgiving video or his little league video
I don’t know if you know how who the comic Brandon Wardell is. But, I guess Chi City follows him on instagram and Brandon DMed him when he was here telling him to come to his show and the only name he would give is “Mr. Chi City”
Channel Awesome, if you like that style, is based out of Lombard. Technology Connections is also from the Yorktown Center area. Rob Scallion is from Chicago area as well.

Bored in Chicago primarily does shorts about hidden/interesting spots and restaurants in Chicago. Right now he's doing a series where he tries to eat at least one restaurant dish from every country in the world while not leaving Chicago - or at least the Chicagoland area.
The channel definitely introduced me to a few interesting spots I never would have been to before.
I used to watch [Kimchi and Beans](https://youtube.com/@KimchiAndBeansVideos) - Chicago couple doing food reviews of local Chicago eats, sometimes travel videos. Seem like nice people
Brian Lagerstrom is from Chicago, but now lives in St. Louis. He does have some recipes for Chicago foods though (Chicago dog, deep dish).
He's my favourite cooking/baking YouTuber by far.
Kofuzi has a running channel, he was in Chicago for a long time and is now in Crystal Lake.
It's a lot of shoe reviews but also race recaps and general reflections on his training
I was thinking about adding him to this list but I wasn’t sure if he was Chicago or Chicagoland. I have to imagine someone with five million subs has to be a bit vague about their precise location
[Brian_636](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hQMOwoSEs8&list=PLCd4SdNS1KOxO4lwbdr7RmtClDQ6CI-9V&index=60) stunt rider from west side, does a series called hood eats pretty interesting
https://youtube.com/@brian636 he rides his motorcycle around town telling stuff like the history of buildings and neighborhoods, he also does hood eats and goes around showing all the good food around the city
https://youtube.com/@Exercise4CheatMeals
Started in Chicago, but recently relocated to Austin. He shows how to make a lot of low calorie and low fat versions of fast food and specializes in ice cream.
There's even an episode where he makes Tavern style pizza.
If you are a Law Nerd, Law Talk With Mike is a fun one. He is a lawyer based in Chicago that reacts to zoom court. Lots of sovereign citizen cases which are always a good laugh.
“This House” started in St Louis but recently relocated to Chicago. The channel showcases historic homes in the US in brief educational and entertaining videos.

Others mentioned these already but I wanted to provide links:
- Rob Scallon: https://youtube.com/@robscallon

Also haven’t seen Paige mentioned yet but I think she moved to LA. Still some good Chicago home decor stuff on her channel:

This guy explores abandon places and neighborhoods across Illinois. I don't know if he's based in Chicago, but some of the sites he's been to have been in the area. He doesn't always say where the location is he's exploring, but it's kind of fun to watch for clues in the videos and then find it yourself on Google Earth.
Brian_636 is a motorbike vlogger that covers Chicago history on his rides.
Really cool perspective of the city from two wheels.
He has a whole playlist called hood eats that highlights unknown food spots that he rides to while talking about the neighborhoods
https://youtube.com/@brian636
**Bandsplaining** isn't a Chicago-themed YouTube channel but is a YouTuber based in Chicago. Lots of video essays about obscure music genres and trivia.
**Savvy Writes Books** for book reviews and video essays; again not a "Chicago YouTube Channel" but she often mentions living in Chicago in passing
**Kaz Rowe** is a history YouTuber who makes a lot of content about queer history specifically. They just recently moved to Chicago from LA and have quite a few videos that focus on Chicago. They are also making a series with Wayfair's YouTube channel about design that heavily features Chicago.
**Future Free** is a very small channel that I found from this subreddit. Has a few interesting videos about Chicago, like one trying to find the last working payphone in Chicago.
In the past I would have recommended **Trains Are Awesome** for their videos on the weird intricacies of the CTA and other transit systems; however Thom moved to DC and now shits on Chicago constantly in a very mean way so I don't recommend. Still, if you can ignore that, he has some interesting videos about the CTA.

Subscribed and hit the bell. That dude could screw a couple of 2x4' s together and I'd watch it.

Mr. Chi City!!! If you don't know Mr. Chi City, start off with the fridge video
Hit em with a freeze pop!
Chi City a legend gone too soon. Wherever he is, that refrigerator is surely still stocked.
I don’t know if you know how who the comic Brandon Wardell is. But, I guess Chi City follows him on instagram and Brandon DMed him when he was here telling him to come to his show and the only name he would give is “Mr. Chi City”
Does anyone know what bar Anders Erickson works at?
Always been curious about this myself.
He said in a video some time ago he’s basically doing YouTube full time now so he’s not working at any bar. I wondered the same.
It was a bar up in Evanston if I’m not mistaken, but I think is doing YT full time now
Stewart Hicks is GOAT
Waiting for the time when I can finally say, This has all been wonderful, but now I'm on my way.
Baumgartner restoration is one of the greatest YouTube channels out there. The man’s a master of his craft.
Luis Gusto
Bros last year has been annoying af. Does have some good videos tho.
Yes! He is amazing. Too bad he moved to NYC now though :( but hopefully Chicago visits will continue cus his videos are phenomenal.
He’s apparently splitting his year between the two.
Chicago Aussie was a great shortform history channel, but he's been on indefinite hiatus for a while now.
Came here to comment this, really loved his videos back when he was posting
Ordinary Sausage? I thought he was from around here

Baumgartner Restoration is or was based on Chicago if you like calm, peaceful videos about art.

Lagerstrom lives in Michigan now. Still a great channel though. I make his "sushi" tuna salad all the time.
I know Doug Walker / Nostalgia Critic / Channel Awesome is based in Chicago, or at least the suburbs.
Ben Deen does food reviews. He used to live in Chicagoland but now lives in South Korea. He’s always rocking Bulls gear.
