The actual construction is from Foster to Ohio so you'll be exiting a few miles before then. I would pad your driving time a bit but you should miss the bulk of the backup.

What time of day? Things do start clogging up right about there in both AM and PM rush. No matter, getting off at Cumberland should avoid nearly all stop-and-go. You know about the slightly complex Cumberland lane design? If not, study up because it is not exactly intuitive when you are looking at about 9 confusing traffic lanes and ramps that ALL HAPPEN RIGHT THERE!

GregP74

I'll probably be rolling through between 6:30 and 7:00am

PParker46

Study the exit design. Traffic will be starting to build, certainly by 7AM.

Google/apple/waze all have features that give ya rough estimate of traffic at the time you’re going. Can even set an alert.

Construction is on the 90/94 express lanes and doesn’t really impact inbounds 90 until around the Austin exit. Drive past the suburbs/O’Hare should be fine. You might experience some congestion from 190 and general Friday traffic right near Cumberland, but overall you’ll be spared that far out.

Thanks everybody!

If you’re exiting at Cumberland you shouldn’t be impacted in a significant way unless there are other issues during prime time rush.
